There are many reasons for the network hash rate to have increased, but IMO, a Bitmain ASIC conspiracy ain't one. Daily media hype towards the end of last year, $20K BTC and $1300 ETH, which on a yearly basis outperformed BTC by almost 10000% a the end of last year and beginning of this year brought in lot's of new miners at a peak, as it always does. Another factor that limited the network hash rate was the ETH ICE AGE MAY-OCT artificially increased block times and difficulty. Once the Byzantium fork happened in the middle of OCT it ended the ICE AGE and profitability increased right around the time Crypto started the end of the year bull run, which brought miners back to ETH. The most recent hash rate increase is from Vega miners switching to ETH after a collapse in Cryptonight profitability.
I gave you merit on this, its basically a turn of events, I do also mined XMR at ICE AGE however it started at the end of the year when ETH is way more profitable than mining Cryptonight, when Vegas were out and GPU shortage happened medium type GPU's like Rx550, were forcibly sold out and guess what, they also added to mine ETH.

Start at mining only one GPU installed in PCIe x16 slot, and set aside or exclude all other GPU's for the meantime.
If this runs successfully, you may now install other GPU's one by one, from there you can actually troubleshoot which might be the culprits.
It maybe a Riser, PSU, Drivers, etc.
I can try that, but what will I learn? The system runs stable for 24+ hours if I don't modify the GPU settings or if I modify the settings using Afterburner. But putting those same settings in the Claymore config causes a crash on startup. Doesn't the fact that I can run stable with no GPU modifiers (or modifying GPU with Afterburner) indicate that hardware and drivers are working correctly? - Dave It is a fact that when you do OC settings you are adding power and stress to the card, and most likely your hardware cound't handle it. with the steps I posted you could probably get an idea on why a single Card (assuming it runs successfully) with OC settings or vice versa (Assuming it failed)

if anybody can help what is the best miner and best pool to mine zec ?
Best miner will depends on your type of card, for Nvidia you came here at the right place. for the pool, Flypool is my choice.

I'm having a problem with a crash or lockup when starting. I've tried 11.3, 11.4 and 11.5. All exhibit the same issue.
Claymore runs great when I don't set any GPU parameters in the config file. However, as soon as I add any clock or voltage adjustments to the GPUs, one of 3 things happens when I start the software: 1. BSOD with Thread Stuck in Device Driver error 2. System just locks up (no mouse movement or num lock), requiring a hard power cycle 3. It starts properly but eventually exhibits failure 1 or 2 after an hour or two.
When I say the problem happens with any GPU parameters, I've tested this by using all stock settings (the same that the GPUs default to when I don't set anything in the config), but I still have the problem. So, the problem is not settings outside of a stable operating range.
The crashes usually occur after "POOL/SOLO Version", but not all the time.
I checked the logs but nothing stands out. The logs look normal then just stop when the crash happens.
I'm running a rig with 3xRX570 and 3xRX580 using the blockchain driver on Win10.
I've tried running -oldkernels 1, but that actually made it worse. I couldn't start mining at all. I always get OpenCL errors, even with no clock or voltage adjustments.
I tried -gser1 and -gser 2, but neither of those helped.
Is there something else I should be looking at? - Dave

I would minining eth on minergate with claymore, i have rx560 but i have a problem with command, what i must put in the .bat?
Signup in minergate and create and account, ensure that you are able to login then configure your Claymore .bat file Try this one, Change YOUR_EMAIL with your login email from minergate EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eth.pool.minergate.com:45791 -ewal YOUR_EMAIL -epsw x -allpools 1

I figured it would be better to start with a small GPU mining setup since I still need to figure out and learn almost everything there is to know with mining.
Can anyone at least recommend a good source of up-to-date information on mining?
I guess, this is more reasonable than the ROI or CR in 100 days goal. I'll recommend this thread to read up, it almost cover all infos regarding GPU mining and stuffs, Kudos to Bro yun9999 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1806061.0https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1761303.0

The miner has been working for a week without problems but the last two days that this happens every 2 or 3 hours, some solution?
2018-03-15 3:27:04|gpu_id 2 76 0 an illegal instruction was encountered 2018-03-15 3:27:04|gpu 2 unresponsive - check overclocking 2018-03-15 3:27:04|cudaMemcpy 1 failed
Thanks!
One GPU is failing, check your Riser, or if you have an extra try to replace them. if it happens its an open rig and have some dust then make some cleaning maintenance

Hey guys so I've finally had the time to try and fix the issue and I got into the BIOS but when I'm in there my mouse and keyboard both DONT WORK?! grrr this is frustrating haha. Does anyone know why that is happening? I'm going to contact ASrock later today.
Seems you have the same scenario as this http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1766597/usb-keyboard-work-boot-solved.htmlI have a usb keyboard, it's not working before boot on my system. I am aware that some BIOS disable usb to speed boot along you may try clearing the BIOS by taking out batteries but this has a good point Your keyboards probably are working, if you have the usb options enabled in your bios. However, for some reason, the F2, and in fact all the F buttons, do not work during post. Most of you are pressing F2 when offered the choice of F2 or Del, and so assume your usb keyboard doesn't work in POST, and plug in your old ps2, to make your bios adjustments. I know all of this because it happened to me. There are two ways to 'fix' it: Hit del instead of F2, or You probably have a FN button on your KB. Press that at the same time as F2.

You might had a bad timing buddy, look at the charts getting bloody red your #1 goal seems not possible with today's profitability check your Plan B. What if mining wont push thru?

Hello everyone! it's probably too late, but I still decided to ask this question about my problem: my video card 1070 gave 0.2 zek per month, but since February it has become 0.15 zek. The schedule on the nanopool has not changed, the sol in the EWBF Miner window has not changed, the settings have not changed, but for some reason the balance began to be earned slowly than before. Im sorry if this problem has long been passed by someone, maybe I just dont know something and the problem is not mine, but the problem on the server. Explain please what is this? (sorry for my bad english)
Heard of Mr. difficulty? you should look for him, he is the primary culprit on the miners profit dipping its not the servers problem https://www.coinwarz.com/difficulty-charts/zcash-difficulty-chart

Hi. With Claymore 11.5 i often recieve "socket was closed by pool". This is miner problem or my interner connection issue?
Probably Yes its connection issue not the miner, sometimes problem is on the pool itself. whats your pool? post your .bat file

Hey all - so I'm pretty new with mining; I've used Minergate for the past year or so, and I've used coinpot.co for about 6 months for occasional web mining. But how do I set myself up to actually mine coins - say Bitcoin Private. I know I can get a Raspberry Pi maybe or something of that nature, but I wouldn't have a clue as to next steps. Anyone able to shed some light on how to get involved with mining - what I can get (without spending a shit ton of money) to get myself started and in a place where what I'm doing is actually worthwhile financially?
Any suggestions as to good coins to mine / resources etc.
Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance all.
Kenny
So you've got a candidate coin to mine eh.. its a good start.. Bitcoin Private is an equihash Type Coin Algo, the best hardware to mine these are the NVIDIA GPU's Ex. 1080ti's I'm afraid you cant avoid spending a bit on these, especially on today's price and availability when you are already decided then setup a mining CPU gear a lot of them already posted here to choose from depends on your taste and preferences Goodluck on your mining plan

Hi, since a few days ago when the claymore is connected the word unsecure appears in the ip of the pool, in the following way:
ETH: Stratum - connecting to 'us1.ethermine.org' <18.219.59.155> port 4444 (unsecure)
Is there a problem? I did not have that before, how can I solve it? Thank you.
No Not at all, if you want a pool connection that is more secure then use the SSL with port 5555 Hey man Im getting this error, any ideas?

Yap, When talking about stability, something that been tried with a ton of test would be better (it's called standard and vendor do a ton of test, I say for sure), that's the point. I can't judge something "wrong" or "right" just because I do that. Same as you, all of my Polaris card been modded and seems stable but wouldn't so stable as stock with a bit tune-up on it. For honest, I do that for hashing speed.
Honestly I doub't on the test being held, for sure standard test is for gaming, as the cards are not purely designed on mining. so the stability test is different from gaming to compute and were specifically not really a default condition for compute mode. my first rigs 2 yrs ago has been a purely stock bios RX480 reference cards and I could tell, stability is same but hashes 15% less same is true on debunking myths about stressing GPU's when modded https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/6irktq/debunking_myths_about_mining_and_gpus/

--snip--
Wrong, modded RX cards can keep stability more than stock ones and give you higher Hash, My modded cards are way cooler than stocks bios. I also modified my Polaris cards but didn't give OP a personal view. So RX series with modded, actually, pushing default condition, different from with R9 and kinds. Mod bios would change default strap that has been calculated by a vendor in a safe zone, and they give a range to increase a few elements on it.That's why I give technical view to OP because of whatever when we push something to its limit, for sure will be something a bit different. Yeah agree unto the perspective of Cards pushing unto its limit, however it does not affect stability versus on stock ones , from the looks of it, from temps to wattage you may underclock/overclock it depends on your references and may get amazing result that seems not pushing your cards too much compared to stocks

I think I read somewhere that Bitmain probably made more then Nvidia last year.
Rumored, but no HARD numbers are available for Bitmain. Given they probably have a lot higher margin on their sales, their profits being higher than Nvidia in 2017 would be no shock. I think Bitmain is buying the chips from TSMC so they are probably getting good deals on those and I would assume they have higher profits that Nvidia does. --ypsi Hmmnn, Guys Bitmain X3 already gone on their product list, do you have any news of it?
https://shop.bitmain.com/Edit: seems its only a sites glitch, they lowered price for 3K on batch 3
