Hey Tycho, are you going to update the difficulty history?
Yes, in a few days.
The list on the bottom of right panel was updated manually, but I'm planning to use automatic calculation in next site update.

The reader on the photo looks like a t-money PoS used in public transport and stores used throughout korea. It's based on mayfair classic smartcard
Good eye. It's T-Money used widely across Korea. I just grabbed the photo as an example. Japan uses identiical technology as well.
Similar tech is used in Hong Kong, they call it "Octopus card" and it's very convenient. Even McDonald's accepts it :)
Also, unlike usual CC POS, most merchants also offer adding funds to the card.

I like such wireless solutions, except one thing: I want there to be a button for disconnecting the card's coil so it can only be accessed when I want to, not just when it stays in my pocket.

site is down,..cannot get to it from multiple computers.  Just a blank page.
Should be better now, try again.

Botnet owners don't even need to get that e-mail. Someone will just post here "Hey, I just got an e-mail with this IP: ***".
705  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: October 20, 2011, 06:31:12 PM
Also, WTF with deepbit?  my rig is in the other room mining, seemingly no problem, but I cannot access the deepbit website from this comp for love or BTC... I tried flushing the dns even, still nothing...
Should be no problems at this moment.

What's happening when you are trying to reach the site ? Connection timeout, domain name not found, connection refused or something else ?

Sad to see, hosting at blacklotus could probably have handled the problems
Well, may be after some REALLY deep tuning.
I already tried them and it was somewhat not suiting my needs.
707  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1400 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); Now LP&Ntime, NMC merged mining on: October 19, 2011, 07:21:49 PM
What I have seen is Eleuthria is very fast at banning botnets from using his pool and making it so they can't DDOS his pool.
I want to mention that "banning" some subnets or IPs via software or normal router/loadbalancer can't do anything for protection against serious DDoS.
Some of those attacks were over 2 mpps, with that flow almost ANY hosting provider will just nullroute or disable IPs under attack. (I think that currently BTCguild uses same hosting service as deepbit, so I can say that for sure).

And from what I've seen his pool is always the last large pool standing when the other 2-3 large ones go down.

We have some problems at this moment and I'm working on this.
Hashrate display is temporarily disabled for debugging purposes, sorry (that's why we aren't on bitcoinwatch).

You may need to flush DNS cache.

Hey are we having bad luck... Or is this like... Pool Hopping gone wild... Deepbit's doing a kinda bad job at grabbing blocks lately...
Was wondering if during the DDoSing something was changed to stop the DDoSing and inadvertably allowed poolhoppers to get into deepbit(Afaik im stupid)
No, this is not related to poolhopping in any way.
710  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: October 16, 2011, 03:35:15 PM
WARNING

Today someone tried some userlist against this pool. It may be the user/password database stolen from bitcointalk forum or somewhere else.
While most usernames didn't match, tens of users have same password in the pool and in this list. PLEASE consider taking appropriate actions immediately:

1. If you used same password in this pool and somewhere else - change your pool's password.
2. If you used same password in this pool and in your e-mail - change both (this is not secure).
3. If you used same password somewhere else and you have bitcoins on your pool balance - please use permanent bitcoin address lock function at the pool's advanced settings page (this can't be undone). You have to be the real owner of this address' private keys (wallet.dat) and keep a backup copy of it.
711  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: October 13, 2011, 11:40:04 PM
wtf cant payout ?
what is this nonsense ?
No problems here dude.
When I attempt to manually withdraw coins, via "instant payout".  The below is seen.
Please_wait_for_autopayment!
This message is shown when manual payments are unavailable at the moment, for example, in this case bad luck was followed by very good luck and payout system needed to be refilled with bitcoins.
As you may expect, most of the pool's funds are stored in separate "cold storages", so sometimes this can happen (rarely, I think today is the second time in last months).
Just wait while additional coins will be confirmed to the payment wallet and payments will be issued as usual.

DDoS is still there, that's the cause of service interruptions. I'm working on this.
713  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: October 13, 2011, 12:26:53 PM
I am still unable to get to deepbit using the deepbit selection in gui..  8:10 AM EST -5 GMT  my block(s) are 98.70.*.*
What do you mean ?
Is the website working for you ? Or you can't access the site AND can't mine ?
714  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: October 13, 2011, 08:49:28 AM
Surprisingly we are under DDoS again. It's still going on, but pool operation is restored at this moment.
I was unable to react quickly, sorry for that.

Also, this forum account can also make "official" posts about Deepbit, this is normal.
715  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DeepBit pool thread for newbies on: October 13, 2011, 08:47:32 AM
Is there any IRC channel of Deepbit?!
Yes, #bitcoin-deepbit at freenode
716  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DeepBit pool thread for newbies on: October 13, 2011, 08:46:30 AM
Payment not received.
12.10.2011 18:59   1PoXP2Rst9ep1osd4t22...   0.30
When I click on the transaction (linked above) I get a no such transaction error.
It's not an error.
It's normal condition for transactions that are not included in the blockchain yet.
You can check those transactions at http://bitcoincharts.com/bitcoin/
Example link: link (this link will stop working after that TX gets it's first confirmation).

:O im suprised i didnt think about that, Then again, i Just was introduced to Thunderbird, so i dont know anything about it,
Anyone got instructions on howto foward messages from xyz to xyz?
That's usually something that the mail server does, not the client...
Yeah :\ just figured that out Lawl, and failing at it
I think that many clients can do that.
718  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: September 27, 2011, 05:55:53 PM
Could you make it possible for us to Set the email of wich we would like to recieve the messages at?
I would like to beable to set the notifyer to send an email, That gets sent to my phone,
I know it's brandnew, but without a data plan i would need to activly watching my email/be logged into, to know if my miner goes down.
I wish to beable to change to the recieving email address to something that doesnt require confirmation, Aka, my cellphone's sms contact#
I'll think about this.
But you can also just set up some forwarding rules for your main address :)
719  Economy / Services / Re: Deepbit idle worker email Notifications! 0,1 BTC/Month on: September 27, 2011, 02:31:47 AM
Sorry about that, but now e-mail notifications are enabled for everyone at Deepbit (if your e-mail is confirmed).

What's happened with Statistics page?
We had a little displaying glitch caused by two blocks found in 0.03 seconds. It's already fixed.

Can I use FreeBSD?
I have put a computer on solo mode with windows XP now I just want to try something else. This is an older computer 64x processor, and 8600 or 8800 Nvidia AGP card.
I don't know if there are OpenCL-compatible drivers for FreeBSD. But you can try using Ubuntu of some other linux that is known to work.
Remember that 8600-8800 cards will give you only ~4-30 MH/s, that's really not much.

Update. I've started GPU miner and my balance raised.
Maybe balance updates only after some shares were found (for example, 4 or 5)?
Balance updates do not depend on shares count. Sorry for missing your initial question. Do the problem still persist ?
