Sorry Floridabear, your math is off.  At $0.15 kw/h power cost, a Single is still profitable to a worthwhile degree even at 900 million difficulty.  It's going to be a bit of time before we see 900 million difficulty, from 19 million now.

This thread has turned into so many kinds of awesome, I can't even begin to describe.  Smiley

I wonder if there will still be people saying that Butterflylabs is not a Scam after they fail to ship by 2027. Undecided
I guess a year and a few months is not long enough for most folks.

I wonder why there are still idiots saying that BFL is a scam now that they've started shipping.

I wonder why people are to0 lazy to read the posts explaining why they're scammers.

BFL said every month since OCT 2012 that they were on the verge of delivering only to get pre-orders in. The ones that ask for a refund get their money back. Sounds innocent enough right?

Well that funds RnD and that is tax free loans at 0% interest.

Perpetual pre-order/refund setup while knowing that the products were never going to be delivered until a year+ later and still waiting.

Raise prices to scare people from cancelling and after they deliver only a few jalas to get more pre-orders.

Too bad you can't figure this shit out. Idiot

Just because you repeat the same lies over and over MooC Tals doesn't mean people are going to start believing your lies.  But by all means, continue to spam every thread with your fantasies.

Why not? It seems to work for you.

Once again, I've provided proof that you're a liar, you've yet to provide any that I've lied.

706  Economy / Scam Accusations / Phinnaeus Gage scammer tag request on: June 17, 2013, 06:03:49 AM
I would like to nominate Phinnaeus Gage for a scammer tag.  He has openly admitted that he made a promise to donate and now intends to break that promise to donate $200 to a charity of my choice because he simply doesn't feel like parting with $200 now.

I am unable to locate the original post (perhaps he's deleted it?)

He upped the original amount from $100 to $200 here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=119338.msg1284447#msg1284447

Speaking of charities, Josh. I'm upping my bit with you, of which you don't have to put anything up, to $200 USD, instead of the original $100 USD. I did read that you're having misgivings about EFF, so feel free to change your mind when the time comes where I hopefully have to pay out.

Tonight, I was copied on a PM that states he has no intention of honoring his commitment:

Quote
To be fair, I will concur that the bet (for lack of a better word) is satisfied as far as your obligation is concerned. It also satisfied my promise (mine was not a bet) to donate to a cause stipulated by Josh/BFL.

But, sadly, I am reneging on my promise for reasons I've outline on this forum. I may reverse that renegeration (just made that word up) at some future time, but for now I'm holding fast.

Me is no happy camper at the moment (nothing to do with your promise/bet, so don't take it personal, though feel free to judge me by my current action).

Mods are welcome to check my PM inbox for a PM from PG and verify that what I say is true.  Since PG admits he made a commitment and now openly admits that he has no intention of following through, I think a scammer tag is more than warranted at this point.

707  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The truth about the BFL 1000 BTC fund? on: June 17, 2013, 04:23:24 AM
We have been calling and explaining bitcoin to a number of charities and trying to get them on board.  It's not exactly a quick or easy process.

If you've got some, by all means, submit them and we'll review them and/or add them as appropriate.  The BitcoinDF site is not finished, but we did want to get something up to move things forward.  That's why it was labeled as a sneak peek.

Yes, hundreds of people are a "few" shills.

Once again, a fine example of my above statement.

The answer is because idiots are an infinite resource (dubious resource, granted).  I'm dead serious when I say this: We still get people claiming we never shipped any FPGAs.  I'm not being dramatic or exaggerating things... literally, we still get that fairly regularly.  It's amazing the cognitive disconnect so many people have with regards to reality.

So are you really selling chips before you satisfy all of the customer orders you currently have or is that untrue as well?

A perfect example of my above statement. Thank you for providing it.

Well, all I can say is - I got my fpga order ahead of the estimated delivery date. And promptly ordered sc upgrades when they were offered. I know BFL intends to deliver my SC products as well. Sure it would have been nice to have them last year... but you guys aren't putting rounded corners on a cell phone here... or reinventing something that's already been done 1000 times before - you're creating a cutting edge product. I understand how much work and time that can take. As an aside, I find it highly ironic given all the obstacles BFL has had to overcome in the last year to get the products shipping, that the other guys are still behind on mh/s/j. Mythical mismanagement issues aside...

Speaking as a customer my only discontent with BFL was the previous lack of communication with customer. So I just wanted to take this chance to publicly thank you specifically Josh for going above and beyond on correcting that, it's really nice to get updates and your actual customers really do appreciate all of your hard work (not to mention everybody else at over at BFL).

You are quite welcome and you're quite correct.  It's taken a lot of work to get to this point and we are pretty set going forward.  It's unfortunate that we were late with the product, but we do have the most advanced chip and board out there, the next few months should prove fairly interesting.
710  Economy / Gambling / Re: 280 BTC total bets between Micon and mrb (are BFL ASICs real?) on: June 17, 2013, 03:09:39 AM
Why would I apologize for it?  It was true at the time and was meant to spur him into action and it worked. I have no doubt what so ever that if it weren't escroewed, he would have welshed on the bet.

Besides, I have yet to see an apology from him for calling me and BFL a scam and for all the ridiculous claims he's made over the past few months.  Why would I apologize to a sorry, pathetic little man like Bryan Micon?

1 GHash/s = 1,000 Mhash/s so 6.8 Ghash

I always wondered about that - cos really it should be 1024MH/s (call me pedantic)

I know the difference is not much, but it really does add up, if you are running a decent set up (like my upgraded LS & Jalapeno will be putting out a combined 37GH/s - which if it was 1024MH/s per Gh/s would be the equivalent of an extra 888MH/s)

Why do you think it should be 1024 MH?  These aren't bytes... (or bits, from whence your confusion likely springs)
717  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BFLS.RIG - BFL Hardware mining & Sales on: June 14, 2013, 07:22:21 PM
300w estimate on the Singles is a good estimate.  The minirig will be 500 GH/s +/- 10% for about 2500w or so, or 7500w for 1.5 TH/s.

Hmm, that idea could certainly work.  Let me give that some thought, but off the cuff I like it.
