701  Economy / Services / Re: Post Local Bitcoin Business Listings - Paying 0.001 BTC Per Listing! on: February 15, 2017, 06:00:35 AM
Hello, do you have anyone for RIVERSIDE California yet?
702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should governments allow people to pay their taxes in Bitcoin BTC? on: February 13, 2017, 06:20:22 AM
No!
I don't want to pay tax, as I want the destruction of all countries. About 40 million people in Europe are on benefits, if there were no governments to pay them, they would all die and Europe would be a far nicer place. Only the best shall survive. Countries are corrupting natural order, so I don't want to pay tax to destroy all countries and restore natural order. BTC will help towards that goal.
Bitcoin rate may go up and may go down what happend if it goes high? and the taxes price changed to the currently rate of the bitcoin?
I voted NO.  Sad

If government gives tax payment option through bitcoin, Why do we resist?

Tax would be beneficial for us if it was set in state laws. Which makes bitcoin up and down is a market, not a tax. We always hope that bitcoin is regulated, but refused taxed, it is not justified. Bitcoin will forever be an underground movement if all users reject government tax (live like Robin Hood).

I was going to go with my first reaction which was " CHILL out, maniac."  But the Robin Hood reply was much more eloquent in delivery.  That's all . Smiley

704  Other / Meta / How anonymous are the votes cast by users in polls here at bitcointalk.org? on: January 19, 2017, 11:11:11 PM
Hello, bitcointalk.org keepers,

Thank you in advance for answering my questions.

I am creating a poll in general discussion about how people use bitcoin, and I want to understand the policy regarding anonymity and privacy first, since some of the poll options will include sensitive details.  One of the poll questions may involve voter admission to participating in activities that may get them into hot water if the info is ever shared.

I want to make a disclaimer in the poll description /details that explains to the voters that the aggregated results will be referenced in published articles several times in several places over the course of the life of the poll.   I want users to understand that I personally will not know who voted on what, and I want them to know that none of my readers will know who voted on what.

What I don't know is how the moderators and / or owners of bitcointalk.org treat the data related to the votes.
Does anyone have the ability to access the individual votes, to see who votes on what or to alter the votes in any way? If so does the current privacy policy of bitcointalk.org protect this data?   I assume it is protected to The extent of the law, and any details (if they are even available) would only be shared in the event of subpoena by law enforcement agency .... but the privacy policy and terms of use are a lot to read... so can you clairify in simple terms that I may quote in the explaination of the poll to potential voters?

I want honest poll results and paranoia tends to skew these kinds of results so I aim to ease the minds of poll voters in order to deliver a more accurate picture of the ways people are using their coin.   I aim to shine a positive light into the reputation of bitcoin.  I aim to prove that NOT EVERY user is trolling for a hit man.  We are consumers.

Thank you in advance for your thoughts and explanations.
With respect,
Lori Brown

Hi, Thank you for approving btcpals>com we appreciate being in the early stages of what looks to be a GREAT concept.   So far we have already seen increased traffic and all we did up to now is add ourselves to the directory.

Here is my current stumbling block :
I am ready to add my written work into a fresh news feed however,  I really want to use the Wordpress sub that bungeebones has offered- with plugin already enabled.   ::)I can't remember the password I JUST created yesterday to login to bungeebones and the reset password button appears functional but ... nothing comes to my email.

Help?

Thank you
706  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does anyone "Day Trade" Bitcoin on: January 11, 2017, 06:37:08 AM
Hello,
Day trading is a rush, for some people.
I bought into one of those catchy, over-promise /under-deliver companies that sell a product which they call software, and  sometimes they claim to be selling an "algorithm" that automatically does a set of trades.  (binary options.)which, to me, means the same thing as a  slot machine. The reality is they were cleverly disquised sales people from  brokerage they recommend to do your trading.
They actually did earn me money - and out of 15-20 Daily trade recommendation they always had two positions dedicated to bitcoin.   They were always going.   The other suggested trades varied .  It's a lot like gambling but you can swiftly kiss money goodbye if you act impulsively.  On the other side of that, when you choose correctly you will be floored when you see the profit. ... a lot of money can be made very quickly.  Can't say I know a good broker to take your business too, but if you pick 3 brokers and tell them all that you want to select a broker, today, and tell them you won't decide until you talked with all 3 candidates, and they will roll out the red carpet for your business because your money is valuable and why should you pick anything less then the best ... a good agent will help you if you are loyal especially.  It's fun.  Takes iron Will power, and if you Adhere to a system you might make good money.  Good luck !!

Hello,
I am the original poster of the post...the one that THIS subsequent thread now refers to.  (Dizzy yet?  I am.)
I understand and appreciate the explanations given to Chrisbin702 in the replies.  I see impressive, diplomatic skills amongst the crowd, however,  it's clear that at least SOME of the key words used in explanation were seering red,  and sprinkled with stigmatic warnings.
There is an elevated awareness I am sensing from the people participating in this topic.  It's actually pretty awesome to see how bitcointalk.org is woven by quality threads, like this one.  It is why Chris and I enjoy this site above the alternative forums.

Ok now I must request... As the original poster of the subject thread....

Please, will someone who has the authority to moderate consider unlocking my thread  and unlocking my poll too?  I did love the answers received however I feel the thread deserves more input from more users and I feel it is of great benefit to the bitcoin community to have my question opened for further discussion.  As participants in the bitcoin public ledger, Aka the blockchain, WE ALL BENEFIT from increased node-awareness, right? I think so, and I wish i could learn more.... which Brings it back to the start.

Please can I have my thread unlocked to gain more insight?  Chris and I discussed this little controversy and we both appreciate the sincere, albeit blunt feedback, received so far.

710  Other / Beginners & Help / Nodes: good idea for a beginner or not? on: January 05, 2017, 05:13:09 AM
As a newcomer to this forum with limited experience,  I am seeking advice from the experts.  I am always striving to learn more about the science and technology behind the beloved bitcoin  blockchain.... I still scratch my head at the basics.  I see in bitcoin.org that anyone willing and able CAN run a NODE.

Is this beneficial as far as the learning curve goes?  I understand that is is of great benefit to the entire bitcoin user community, but can I learn more about the way it all works if I run a node from my home ?  I want to learn the way the. Blocks are actually created or "solved".

Any words ?   Thank you!

711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is YOBIT Altcoin collecting worth the time and effort? on: January 03, 2017, 06:30:22 AM
You have to start doing due dilligence on the actual development of these coins and the technology behind them.

Funny you should point out the need for due diligence.  Asking questions in a forum of experts, is a casual (but worthy) method of research,  and it counts as a form of due diligence too.
This is an intimidating arena, and diplomacy is always productive where nagging falls short.

Oh, by the way... Hi.  I am Lori.
