7001  Economy / Gambling / Re: ☆Oilrigcontractors☆ The next big thing! 125% daily ROI! Join while Early! on: May 11, 2014, 08:35:07 PM
A week's time is considered long for high risk hyips like that one. Knowing that the minimum rate tay pay is 5% it's quite easy to understand that why it can't stand for long. HYIPs today pay people from other peoples deposits. There rarely is some real profit generated. Seeing that oilrigconstructors is 29 days old today their 30 day big plan cycles tomorrow. It would be a big milestone if they make it past that point but I would be extremely cautious after this.

TL;DR I would consider every deposit into their website after today extremely risky. Don't invest what you can't afford to lose and be careful!

Ο λογαριασμός μου στο φόρουμ είχε αναφορά και δεν μπορούσα να κάνω post μέχρι χτες. Ελπίζω όλα να πήγαν καλά όσο έλειπα.   Smiley

7003  Other / Meta / Re: I was banned for a week. Back with my 2 cents on: May 11, 2014, 10:51:35 AM
Well mprep a single post obviously can't be enough. There are more things than just that to be done to raise awarness about spam before truly having to ban an account.
7004  Other / Meta / I was banned for a week. Back with my 2 cents on: May 10, 2014, 02:00:48 PM
First of all you should know that I didn't came here to complain about being banned. I've already taken a look to other threads on the same topic that mods replied to and I know what their stance is on bans.

There is too much spam in the forum. Theymos suggested some new changes to the signatures so older members are better advertisers than new members. But this resulted to older members being paid with exremely high rates per post and in the end it was them spaming the forum. The idea was to make us think that by posting too much we would put our account in a risk of getting banned.

So why am I making this post? I'm not going to go through my personal opinion. I'm not going to try to change someone's mind. I'm not going to say that mods should't ban people because of spam.

I'm making this post just to point out that there aready are many tools mods can use in order to prevent spam in the forum before banning someone and that they have no excuse to ban people as the easy way to raise awareness against spam through terror.

I'm sure most of you already know about those tools below. Why aren't they used yet in order to prevent spam instead of banning accounts without a warning?

Stickys:A thread pinned in the top of a board. Already used in some of the forum's sections. It should be the first thing to do if mods or users feel like a sections gets bloated with spam posts or is just used by sig campaign participants to increase their post count. Sticky posts could be used to describe exactly what is considered spam and what type of posts are unwelcome to each section of the forum.

Engouraging changes in the OP:Something similar as what was done in the yellowcoin post. A warning was posted as a reply from a mod and it was quoted in the Original Post to prevent further spam through replies.

Post editing:If the previous step is not possible mods can be more aggressive and change posts themselves. Some mods have the ability to edit original posts. I've seen this before, (please correct me if I'm wrong) so how would this work? If you feel like a post is getting abused there is the possibility to modify the original text in the Original Post by adding a warning or a message.

Warnings: Messages posted above threads, usualy in the securities section such as this one: Warning: Moderators do not remove likely scams. You must use your own brain: caveat emptor. Watch out for Ponzi schemes. Do not invest more than you can afford to lose.

A warning of this type could be used for posts that are are flooded with spam.

Thread locking/deleting:If a thread has nothing to give rather than crappy replies and even encourages them mods can lock it or move it to the trashcan.

That's all from my part. There might be more things mods can do. Please feel free to contribute to the discussion if you have an idea or disagree with something.
ps
I know that it's not pleasant for mods to ban, accounts and that's why I created this post. Bans were used as the final solution to this problem but I believe that all those things mentioned in this post should be used before someone has to get banned.

Good day people.
7005  Other / Off-topic / Re: What anitvirus/anti malmware program do you use? on: May 03, 2014, 11:41:32 AM
ESET NOD32

Just because I got it as a gift. Thankfully no false alarm till now. I would have had unisntalled it otherwise.

Before that, I used to have bitdifender free edition. Best free one out there imo.
7006  Other / Off-topic / Re: Answer the question above with a question. on: May 03, 2014, 11:28:17 AM

7009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Thoughts wanted on development of new coin on: May 03, 2014, 10:39:59 AM
If you're going to make a nother charity coin I guess you'll have to find a way proving people that you're not just using the word charity for yor own profit.
7010  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will confirmations be faster, the more people become part of the network? on: May 03, 2014, 10:37:39 AM
Confirmations have to do with the miners fee. If you use a wallet other than Bitcoin Core (aka Qt) you can skip 100% of the fee. But since miners are rewarded with the fee to verify transactions if you pay a large fee for a transaction it means it's going to get verifications faster.
7011  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: I am addicted to BTC price checking. Please VOTE on: May 03, 2014, 10:35:05 AM
I guess that's not something new. I as well check the price often. I wish my nokia 210 would have a ticker application.
7012  Other / Meta / Re: Bad Reports on: May 03, 2014, 10:30:41 AM
The thing is mprep, you won't be able to do this for every single person. What if more people want to know? I believe that leting us know which of our reports were bad will increase the report quality in general.

7016  Other / Off-topic / Re: Worst Movies You Have Ever Watched on: May 03, 2014, 10:17:45 AM
It was just controversial for the sake of being controversial. I found it pretty funny to be honest. Newborn porn!

I remember hearing about this movie on the radio. It was pretty awkward listening to someone talk about raping a newborn while I was eating breakfast. He didn't even mention it was a movie... But yeah, I think this movie got alot of media attention because of how controversial it was.
7017  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Countries with No Bitcoin Taxes on: May 03, 2014, 10:15:13 AM
In Greece cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin have yet to be talked or mentioned in our parliament. There is no strict or popular law about e-currencies here so in no way one could say that it is illegal or should be taxed by law.

In fact, there are plenty of local community currencies here that are perfectly legal. Now that I think of it we should let them know about bitcoin.  Grin

Somehow I feel bad for liking the post in the OP. Sad
7019  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: John-investments Official topic, Get 7% daily. on: May 03, 2014, 12:36:16 AM
Totally agree I am Ponzi player before. And I smell it's Ponzi that have no website.

I'm not trying to support him or anything, but in the altcoin market it's not that hard to spot coins that are able to offer a short term profit. If you do it right you would get MUCH MORE than just 7% a day. besides that, I wouldn't trust him to handle my own bitcoins. The fact that the account has been registered for a long time doesn't really say mutch to me. e could have bought the account recently.
