Every financial body now is really changing on the way they handle things specially if it involves crypto currency. So I'm not surprised by this move, although the timing makes it questionable. I mean the market is already in a bull run, but looking at how others governing bodies is with regards to tightening crypto regulations doesn't matter what the timing is. If you are a regular average joe then nothing to be afraid of, maybe some asking for more personal information that will make most of us not comfortable.
They not "changing" anything they are just applying it all on cryptocurrencies. Maybe last 3 or 4 years ago we have seen the crypto industry not have some kind of requirements from the exchanges and a lot of exchanges don't require KYC but now you will barely see that as the government is moderately applying all of their requirements to the crypto industry. From KYCs, Tax reports, and other documentation all of these are being required by stock brokers, forex, and banks so I don't think we can say that it is "changing" when everything is just being applied to us. Perhaps the keyword is adopting, there are no changes at all, just financial regulatory applying KYC as mandatory now due to AML, in which the banks did comply years ago. And since crypto industry has been growing in the last 4-5 years, this financial watchdogs are adopting this as well to crypto exchanges. And that's why I said that exchanges are slowly turning into traditional banks.

FCA’s proposed changes to AML reporting could catch out crypto exchanges Earlier this week the FCA announced proposals to extend anti-money laundering reporting requirements in its financial crime controls to include virtual currency exchanges, such as all cryptoasset exchange providers and custodian wallet providers. The aim of the change is to strengthen AML defences.
Proposed changes
The FCA is now reconsidering the revenue threshold and proposes broadening its net to include firms, “that carry on regulated activities that we consider potentially pose higher money laundering risks.” This applies to firms or business that the FCA supervise under the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017 (“MLRs“).
The plans also require entities such as those that advise on investments and hold client money, as well as those that manage investments, to submit the updated reports. A new category of firms, within the scope of the FCA’s obligation, are cryptoasset exchange providers, which include businesses that exchange virtual money or cryptoassets or arrange their exchange.
Finally, the FCA plan to remove the following activities from the scope as they are no longer considered as falling within the MLRs:
1. home finance mediation activity; and 2. making arrangements with a view to transactions in investments.
https://www.finance-disputes.co.uk/2020/08/fcas-proposed-changes-to-aml-reporting-could-catch-out-crypto-exchanges/Ok, so here we are again, a new proposal is being talk out, including revenue thresholds. I think crypto exchanges are slowly becoming like a traditional banking system with all this proposals. I don't know if this is good news for crypto enthusiast as it means everything is being track, but what if you are just a regular trader and not pose as high risk for money laundering?

Just an advice from me to you, do not invest in new YFI copycats popping up on daily basis due to the huge success of YFI. We all saw the surge with YFI price currently above 22,000$ which surpasses BTC price right now. This is causing a lot of FOMO and scammers are taking advantage to launch their own scam coins (YFI copycats). Examples are YFIE, YFIS which launched even without website or team information, yet people still FOMO to buy. Be careful please, just a peaceful advise.
And just as expected, this is the usual style of scammers and cyber criminals, they copy the success of other projects and even have a close name to the original so that those unsuspecting victims wouldn't notice it and instead think that it is the same project or a new one and it will also be a success. As for the original, you have to be very careful as well, it has grown so much that there is a big bubble already. FOMO is real and so when this burst, it is going to have a negative impact to altcoin market.

This is great news!

Not surprised though, about a week ago, I heard the same news here, police busted an illegal cock fighting den, and what make its sad though is that there are local officials that is involved as protectors. So this gamblers doesn't really care about their health, as long as they can continue with their vices and they know that they are not going to jail because they're being protected by crooked cops and some local officials.

it is obvious that over 80% of all authentic defi projects are in profits and any investors that have invested in this sector is already in profit. it is obvious that it is also behind the current bull market. a proper observation in the market shows that the crypto trading aspect has been divided. between bitcoin, normal altcoins and defi token which are altcoins too. i think the defi era has come to stay and will dominate for along period just like how traditional banking has evolved and change how money is been utilized. I see the Defi sector as the Savior and promoter of crypto which will lead to the massive adoption which we all yearn for.
You're putting too much hype and faith into Defi though. We have seen and heard this kind of of hype before and the same thing happen, people are saying that ICO is the saviour and that it can bring huge money in the table, which it did. However, not sustainable. So we will have to see how long this Defi thingy could last, or try to compete with traditional banking system to say that it will dominate the crypto sphere and it's here to stay.

What happened: A new crypto mixer, this time, it involved tether. I haven't used any tether mixer in the past but I know only one tether mixer, (won't mentioned it, I don't want to advertise). But this new tether mixer suddenly pops up, so I gave everyone a warning to check everything first. Website: https://tether-mixer.com/ ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FHJmfJm3.png&t=663&c=Z_O0XC-nV1n-DQ) We have no maximum limit for Tether Mixing, but we do have a minimal limitation. The minimal amount of Tether for mixing is 50 USDT per output address. Amounts below the minimal will be considered as donations.

I try to used Google with Adblock off and it's redirect me to this website, not on the fake website as pointed by OP. https://magnumwallet.link Dates 11 days old Created on 2020-08-18 Expires on 2021-08-18 Updated on 2020-08-23
And now it is impersonating this wallet: https://magnumwallet.co/, so these criminals have a back up website to constantly shifting/rotating to mislead potential victims, very tricky indeed.

What do you guys see in the future of fiat? Right now we are not done with the pandemic and we are not done with what it will effect in the future neither, it is just not doing that differently and I just do not feel that it would change too much neither. Think about it fiat "looks" better right now but in reality we all know that nothing has changed, governments did something to prevent having this horrible crisis since it would lead to everyone not having any money and everyone walking around with zero dollars, but in reality it was just temporary because the problem is still there.
Fiat will still be there in the future. Although governments are printing money to get out of recessions or this pandemic, it won't be the solution. Regarding the bitcoin pops and drops, Lol, Powell address has no effect on crypto, and this kind of statements strengthen bitcoin as the new gold, as retail investors is flocking into bitcoin.

What is it with the South Korean market and incompetence? You'd think they would've got rolling with impressive techno sheen but it seems to have been a chaotic improvisation from the start and it's continuing.
I'll bet the majority of places outside the top bunch are doing the exact same thing, and the top bunch did it themselves too in the early days.
Perhaps they learn for their Chinese counterpart exchanges, ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . But it's quite surprising though coming from South Korea wherein there are tougher regulations. @logfiles - perhaps it's lost in translation, the reference that I put is in Japanese and I translated it to English using Google Translate.

Yes, but you have to file it anyways, here is the draft for 2020, https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-dft/f1040--dft.pdf. Maybe you can take a look at it and prepare for the information that is needed if IRS is going to make this official.

Based on the skills and experience De La Hoya is indeed above its opponent but the ring has its four side and anything can happen though the odds is high for De La Hoya. Where can I place my bet for this fight so I can also enjoy watching the game? Anyway, I will also go for De La Hoya and hoping nothing serious can happen to him because of his age.
This match-up is just pure speculation and it's only Amir Khan who is calling Dela Hoya to fight him. IMO, this match won't push through so there will be betting odds for this one. Dela Hoya said he want a competitive fight, Sergio Martinez would be a good opponent for him. So with that statement, does it mean he can't fight Amir Khan because the fighter is younger and active, while Sergio Martinez is 45 years old so he can give a toe to toe fight? What i mean is that there is no contract yet for this match-up, no schedule or whatsoever. For now people are just speculating on who will win if they were to fight but if ever this would push through i will have Amir Khan as the favorite because he is much younger than Oscar and active. He may have a fragile chin but Oscar's power is not like when he was young and he will have problem chasing Khan as the latter is more mobile than him. Just my opinion though but i would put my money in Khan if this would push through. Exactly, nothing is finalised yet so everything is base on speculation. For me I would like to see: (a) what weight they are going to fight? Oscar can't go and drain himself again to 147 lbs, it should be like 154 lbs at least. Can Amir Khan handle that weight though? Or it is going to be in a catchweight (b) who will train Oscar? Will Nacho or Floyd Sr or even Roach?

And what is the upshot? well they say that they are decentralised but upon close inspection, all the funds are being held by the project itself, 9000 BTC to be exact and this is very dangerous and they can collude and stole the whole amount as they control all the nodes right now. https://twitter.com/ChrisBlec/status/1299028248567910400

Even if they file a lawsuit there is no possibility of recovering the hacked funds, because it is in North Korea. But atleast these things are now getting the attention from government which may become a reason for more regulations in crypto currencies on several countries.
If you read the documents, it didn't mentioned that the hacked funds are in North Korean hands, in fact, they (1) identified a US email based (2) when cyber threat actors tries to convert the stolen funds (a transaction ID beginning with 6918d31f), the exchange didn't proceed, perhaps the coins has been trailed and on the blacklist of exchange already (3) they move to other exchange, but since it is blacklisted already, been flagged so no cash out happened. Which means that the funds are sitting to those exchange right now and the US authorities did file this lawsuit to claim those and give it back to the right owners. And you have to understand that this case is not against North Korean hackers directly, but " in rem" - meaning lawsuit on the property itself, in this case the stolen cryptocurrency. @tomahawk9 - yes, even the exchange are not being mentioned, but as crypto enthusiast, and who have been following North Korean modus, I'm sure that it is indeed Monero here being used for crypto jacking.

Jeff Horn was totally dominated in this fight obviously he cannot keep up with Tszyu he keeps on holding I'm surprised that the corner is ok with Horn not continuing, Horn has the most stubborn corners I remember in his fight against Crawford he was knockdown punished and outboxed and yet his corner complain of early stoppage, finally they showed concerned on their fighter, better advice Horn to retire and just continue his teaching profession, he is still young and can still accomplish many things in some area of his interests.
Because it was really a mismatch, it was good on paper, but when we did see the fight, Horn looks amateurish inside the ring and I would agree with what Fenech said that Glenn Rushton - Horn's training did nothing to advance Horn career after his shocking win agains Pacquaio and it was really Horn attitude and heart that made him win the game. The second strangest sight involving Rushton came on Wednesday night when Main Event cameras showed him encouraging Horn to continue his fight with Tim Tszyu in Townsville when the rest of his corner, and those watching at home, thought that was the last thing he should do.
You could tell after one round that Tszyu, 25, had Horn's measure. That Horn, 32, had bitten off one fight too many. The fight could've been stopped numerous times after he twice tumbled before being dropped in the third. https://www.smh.com.au/sport/boxing/the-disgraceful-actions-of-jeff-horn-s-trainer-glenn-rushton-20200827-p55pu6.htmlAnd now Australian media are after Rushton for trying to push him to continue when the rest of the team are thinking of stopping the fight. He should be the one to make the decision to stop it because clearly his boy is outclassed by Tim Tszyu.

Let me list 5 countries where the Online Gambling is legal and flourishing :
Japan
Now the question is : Why should it be legal? -Better handling of scammers -Protection for people -It does bring good revenues for the government -healthy restrictions regarding age and addictions
Now the people are going to do it anyways they cannot control that part , what they can do is discuss the terms and conditions and create a safe environment.
What do you guys think? Should the government allow it more openly?
I think @avikz has put a good discussion about it.
