7021  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question regarding paper wallet on: September 02, 2013, 07:21:32 AM
Yeah, it's very remotely possible that someone, somewhere might have the same private key as you. It's incredibly unlikely though, and it probably won't ever happen.
7022  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you comfortable with CoinTerra 3 months warranty on: September 02, 2013, 07:20:39 AM
I would not be comfortable with that. The asic needs more than 3 months to even give you ROI.
7023  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blockchain.info - BTC via "Shared Send" vanished?! on: September 02, 2013, 07:20:00 AM
Many people have been having problem with shared send recently. When you get out of newbies, send Piuk a pm. Also, contact their support on the website.

7025  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: best bitcoin shop?? on: September 02, 2013, 07:18:30 AM

Yeah most people tend to like that site because it has a lot of sellers and escrow service. I use it sometimes too.
7026  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have a crappy mining rig, should I use it this winter? on: September 02, 2013, 07:18:07 AM
Don't bother GPU mining BTC. Use coinchoose and see what coins are most profitable (if any).

Thanks for the info, b!z link, I was unaware of coinchoose.

You're welcome, i'm glad i helped you.

Which "staff" owns the pool? FTC forum staff?
7028  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: PD Faucet (0.00001/Minute) [PrimeDice.com] on: September 02, 2013, 07:17:02 AM
neither the best paying faucet nor the best. you can only payout if you gamble, and the odds are pretty low. waste of time

but if you are lucky, you could get 0.01 or something like that.
7029  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm new & have a few questions on: September 02, 2013, 07:16:01 AM
Hey Oscura,

The main thing to worry about is fraud and security of your coins.  The Crypto-currency market is pretty unpredictable I would recommend getting involved with some cheap alt coins if you want to keep the initial outlay low.  However Bitcoin is the most prevalent but will cost you more to get involved.

If you do work out a formula to make tons of BTC let me know Smiley

The 'formula' is super martingale, you're welcome.

what is your opinion on Labcoin?

I have heard good things about Labcoin, but since I dont have the funds to buy right now, I  have not done much research into them.  It seems to be a very appealing company. Its different from most of the offering, being the manufacturer of the chips and not just a mining co-op, like Addiction, LabRat. They could be some competion for Asic Miner, which currently has no real completion. I am no expert, but I have spent many hours reading in this forum and elsewhere.

Interesting opinion. Personally i will be buying some labcoin shares once the price goes down (if ever) :-)
7031  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How long does it take Blockchain.info to reset two-factor authentication? on: September 02, 2013, 07:14:25 AM
It took an entire month from them to deny my request.

Better just create a new wallet from backup

This. If you have your backups, of course Smiley
7032  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buy Bitcoin with sms/phone - Need help/advice on: September 02, 2013, 07:13:54 AM
I'm looking for this too, but no luck with it.
I have been annoyed by the mobile phone calls noises for a long time and evry night I can't have a good sleep and finally I found that teh cell jammer is a good device for me.

A call jammer would not help you buy bitcoin with sms. In fact, it would probably stop you.

I think blockchain.info is the best option available atm, although there aren't many options to choose from.
7033  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Big Brother tracking bitcoin transactions on: September 02, 2013, 07:11:41 AM
Bitcoin was not ment to be a storage of wealth. Only complete idiot would consider something that requires fucking network of computers,
man made shits that can't survive flood, EMP and so many other real world threats, and require electricity to even run, as solid foundation.

Do you have any idea how the current banking system modern western society works?

Yes, it is not working very well.

So you understand that we are already completely dependent on a network of computers, the availability of electricity etc. and that floods, EMPs and other real world threats on a level that would threaten the Bitcoin network would already cause devastation to society? And therefore building a protocol on top of this to be used as a currency and using it as a store of wealth is not much further a stretch?

I don't feel like wasting more of my time on you and alikes. Go ahead, put all your wealth into Bitcoin, I'll be glad to see your kind losing all.

I think he is trying to tell you that the world economy relies on computers, and would be affected by an EMP attack, just like Bitcoin. He is not saying it is a good idea to store all your money in BTC.

What are Americans supposed to eat instead of McDonalds? "Healthy food"?
7035  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: As a community, we need to be able to govern ourselves on: September 02, 2013, 07:04:13 AM
ASIC providers are (usually) legal companies and they are governed by the law.
7036  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Avatars on: September 02, 2013, 06:59:34 AM
I'm pretty sure newbies are allowed to upload avatars. In the avatar selection area, you can pick a default picture, upload your own or set a URL.
7037  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How long does it take Blockchain.info to reset two-factor authentication? on: September 02, 2013, 06:58:57 AM
I had trouble receiving 2FA emails a week or so ago, but the problem fixed it self. I never got a reply from their support team regarding 2FA reset. Sad
7038  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie here on: September 02, 2013, 06:58:01 AM
Just heard about Bitcoin a few weeks ago from a buddy of mine. I still don't really understand how it works, but that's why I am here! Can someone direct me to some basic info about Bitcoin and Bitcoin mining for a complete newb? I've pretty much learned everything I know about Bitcoin through my friends.

Welcome.
