Is the US still important in the world of crypto-currencies. They seem to be getting left behind with Russia, China, Venezuela, Sweden and a number of other countries looking to start their own national cryptos.

Members were given merits commensurate with their rank when the merit system was started. This meant that they were not demoted. For example, I got 500 as a hero. There were a few sMerits associated with the initial awards as well. sMerits I've earned from posting since the system started have been added to the 70 or so I got at the beginning.

I probably posted this on the wrong board, but if anybody knows of any items, I'd be grateful if they could post a link or description.

I'm trying to put together a gallery of Bitcoin memorabilia. There are a lot of coins, wallets, tee-shirts and items like that, and I'll go through them at some time in the future. At the moment, I'm trying to find the more interesting and sophisticated items. So far I've found the Bitcoin knife, and the Bitcoin wax seal. Does anybody know of any other similar items? The gallery page is here - http://bitcoinuncovered.com/bitcoin-memorabilia/

I forgot to include my own personal restriction. Don't beg for merits, or trade or buy them. If you do, and I add you to my beggar's gallery, then I will put you on ignore as well, and thus, I will never see your posts to award you any merits. http://crypto-bounty.kat1.com/bitcointalk-beggars/

They could include the zero fee dust aggregation transactions to tidy up the blockchain.

I've only visited this thread to comment that normally I wouldn't have opened it because of the title capitalisation. However, that fact meant that I haven't actually read any of the posts.
Capitalisation messes up the scanning of board indexes, and hopefully most thread starters will avoid it.

Thanks J-N. I had a quick look at your posts, and I thought that you made some nice concise comments. I gave you a merit for the latest one, but the merit is really to cover several of your posts rather than that one in particular. I'm being a bit mean with my points whilst I watch the direction of the boards, that's why I only awarded one, sorry. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Well the dollar is strengthening, so that may account for part of the change.

Thanks for the heads up, and well worth a point for pointing it out. I think it should be on the scms board though, but it will probably get more exposure here. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Virtual assets and asset classes are increasing, and so is the interest in them. It is difficult to find a serious board for discussion that is free from advertising and heavy sales and exchange promotions. There are many virul asset classes, but some obvious and popular ones are -
- Domain names - Crypto currency savings and investment - Games tokens, wepons and ammunition - Social networking names - Web sites
Virtual assets gain value from various factors - proof of work, early adoption and product promotion are just a few, and this represents an investment for the owners. It would be great to have somewhere to discuss this. BitcoinTalk as the leading Bitcoin forum would be an ideal place.

Thanks for your reply. The reason I posted about the negative is that the its abuse seems to have expanded to many other phrases, and now it is neccessary to reread a couple of sentences to determine if the poster relly means to make a positive statement. The idiomatic expression may not be misunderstood in the US, but in English speaking countries it just jars on the reader. I appreciate that these expresssions evolve. For example, how many people know that the correct spelling of this expression " I don't give a dam " doesn't include the letter "n" at the end of the "dam". The Dam was the smallest coin in the Indian currency in the old days of the British Empire.

By the way this is the point i want to discuss about, at all of these topics , you have to SHOW your history posts not receiving sMerit by making a good post .... So there will be 2 jobs for us : " Making good posts and showing them for people to be merited"..
If you feel this, then it means there is a failure in board moderation, or you have posted your message in the wrong place. Having to post a link to your message in a merit soup kitchen just means that you are cluttering the board with double posting. Also it means that if you are awarded a merit from a charity administrator's sMerits, then that merit costs the forum two sMerits, ( It takes two merit awards to generate one sMerit). That wasted sMerit could have been used to help another member.

I've got more sMerit than time, and that's even after spending several days reading threads to hunt for posts to award sMerit. I'm not going to give up and give my points to a soup kitchen or a food bank for merits, because that throws away half of the merits, and it means that I don't have a chance to influence the forum. So here are some tips from me to get your posts considered by me - remember, this is just my opinion and attitude, most members probably won't agree with me. - Ignore threads with smilies and non-text characters in the title, or that are capitalised. They are probably just worthless spam messages. - Don'r bother with threads where the first post text is oversized and has fancy formatting. Again it's probably spam, and the message can't survive on it's own merits. - Don't capitalise, colour or embolden your text. If you need to do this to make your post seem different and valuable, it probably means it isn't. - Try to be concise, and split your message into paragraphs. This makes it more attractive and easier to read. - Remember, your message is like shop, if you want to get people inside, then the shop front need to be efficient and welcoming, and that doesn't mean you have to plaster banners all over it, unless you are closing down of course. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) - Use punctuation to help your readers. - Google is a handy spell checker. If you aren't sure of the spelling of a word, just type it into a Google search box - Unless you are posting a cartoon, keep images to a reasonable size. A large image can hide your text, and lose you readers. - Include negatives where required - " I could care less" means that you care a lot, and the omission of the negative gives a contrary opinion to your intention. This slows down reading, as I have to stop and consider the real meaning behind the comment. - Re-read your message before you hit "post". If you don't understand what you have written, it's unlikely that your readers will. This post reflects my attitude to thread scanning, I'm sure other members will have different priorities and ideas. Please comment in this thread so that we can all learn how to improve the quality of our posting.

So you are selling a service that provides crypto banners for clients to promote their products. If this is the case, then you will need the plural.
The bad news is that cryptobanners.com is for sale, but they want $ 43,540.00 for it.

If you want to edit the sound separately, then Audacity is great, and they have a helpful forum as well.
I use a Blue Yeti usb microphone, and a couple of portable recorders, and you can mix the lot with Audacity. Then you can add it to your video later.

You can send merit to any body who deserves it and anybody who you think is worthy of receiving merits and is under rated.
If you can find them. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

The chartists try to predict the future trends based on theuir anlysis of past prices, but I don't think that works at the moment. The current price drop is based on a very thin market, and I gather that block generation is at an average of 7 minutes rather than 10. This may put more coins on the market if miners are selling to cover costs. I don't think the chartists can allow for an increase in difficulty to bring the block interval back to 10 minutes average.
Another factor is the number of coins that are going into long term storage, and the forced sales that the credit card buyers have had to make. This must be close to complete by now.
