Fast as always Stunna thanks for the note ^_^
7042  Economy / Economics / Re: Facebook accepts Bitcoin? on: August 14, 2014, 09:25:19 AM

The competition from Facebook come from elsewhere. They spend a great deal of money buying out competitions so far (instant gram, whatsapp). But this method of eliminatating competitors come at high cost.

True but becoming the one all location for everyone to meet at means that they can advertise the heck out of it and hold a market advantage over their competition.
Until another upstart comes up to supersede them in one of those areas.
7043  Economy / Speculation / Re: Back over $600 again, here we go? on: August 14, 2014, 09:23:54 AM

I think we may see 520's again for some hours, but it won't las for long, in my opinion

Same its still a far cry from when it was at a real low around the 420 range a few months back so its just a dip for now
At least that is how I am viewing it.
7044  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat banking in Portugal worsens on: August 14, 2014, 09:22:26 AM
Another country in financial straits

I do like the analysis he makes here there is a disconnect and it will be rearranged in the financial markets sooner or later
Dow Jones new highs and the Nasdaq as well show this trend.

Given the above, it shows that global capital markets have been disconnected from underlying fundamentals for the last twelve months, and one of the reasons is, amongst others, the low interest environment (fed by the QE policies in respectively the U.S., Europe, and Japan) that has anaesthetized capital markets from market volatilities. Additionally, the ECB has been playing with fire, with junk bonds ultimately funded by German taxpayers.
7045  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin survive without the Internet? on: August 14, 2014, 09:19:24 AM
Thats the weirdest hypothetical situation i have seen on these forums

Then you have not seen can we use Bitcoin for transactions from mars to earth.
In a form can Bitcoin survive without the internet probably not but apply it to space as well.
7046  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will plummet to $10 by first half of 2014 on: August 14, 2014, 09:17:49 AM
Has Buffett invested in Bitcoin? Just curious. Smiley

No, and he advised against it.  He doesn't invest in tech and/or commodities IIRC.

Oh, that explains why he's a name that pushes some hot buttons around here.

Myself, I don't see why. I know he's outspoken and at time abrasive, but with respect to plain investment, he's an old dog who will not learn new tricks. As for him taking BRK to a whole 'nother level of what could be politely called "insider capitalism," that trick was an old one in the time of Henry Clay.

Well buffet is not a technologist so its not really his fault
(Said it on multiple occasions)
Besides he has his train business and other industries that he built his fortune from so for him Bitcoin is just something that he doesn't need to bother with he already has all the money he needs Smiley
So while he is dated that old dog made his fortune long ago.
7047  Economy / Speculation / Re: Metcalfe's Law: Bitcoin Price and Adoption Analysis for the Future on: August 14, 2014, 09:15:34 AM
So far Bitcoin's adoption looks to continue its upward trend.  The rate of adoption has been on a consistent daily rise again after hitting a local dip on 5/3/2014.  As you can see, Bitcoin's price is heavily correlated with the Metcalfe's Law value of Unique Addresses ^2.  I see no signs of this correlation changing, nor of adoption slowing.  This implies a continuation of the exponential rise in Bitcoin's price.

First post updated with new data.  Adoption increases.  The price dump is thus not based on fundamental data, but more on speculation.

Thanks for the update
Anyways in my opinion its just the market selling some coins for fiat more than a price dump metcalfe still applies here more unique users will correlate with exponential increases in price over some duration.
7048  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Ebay/Paypal's ridiculous fees on: August 14, 2014, 09:13:47 AM
the worst is how ebay and paypal double triple dip on you

you have to pay to list the item
then get fees taken from the item sold
then you have to pay the sold listing fee
then your money goes to paypal and guess what they take something

just goes to show you can buy a company and then keep it aside so you can take more money in
ebay owns paypal and its a win win

The multiple fees are the very reason many people HATE Feebay and the other rip off payment processing site.

Final value fee of 10% of your gross sale!??
Plus the fee they charge you for accepting payment thru PP makes it close to 15% when its all said and done - Its criminal.
I know people will say, "You dont like the fees, dont use the site" but thats not the point.

Its sketch on so many levels how they squeeze money from their customers...
American capitalism at its finest.
Shameful-

Definitely with you guys on that one
Paypal is a rip off Ebay is a giant rip off its just a bad taste of crony capitalism
Everyone pays each other inside their own ecosystem.

Then sometimes they offer free listings for ebay to draw some in but they still get to dip a few more times.

It looks like stub, a placeholder for active content to be added later.

Yep its definitely a placeholder a nice one though especially when you take into account the present difficulty is almost 20 billion at present.
Heh last year at this time it was 50 million  Cool
7050  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice 3 | Most Popular Bitcoin Game| 0.91% Edge| PVP | Jackpot | Faucet on: August 14, 2014, 09:09:40 AM
And fix the chat problem.
Sometime i can't chat

Same here. Sometimes the chat freezes but it looks like everything is still alright except nobody is talking. After logging out and logging back in again, I see that lots of messages were posted by other people which were never shown before. Weird.

I've had that problem before its usually when your logged in and the site is still running
If you leave it for a few minutes and the site starts to turn on and off, then come back the chat is down but the site might work for a bit longer.
That said if you refresh the page you notice then that it is down for everyone else trying to sign in.

Ethererum will destroy bitcoin by pushing the price down and there is a secret mining cache that is selling all their coins right now keeping the price artificially low so their consortium can collect more at these prices.

Think you need to update on bitfinex. They are no longer a Hong Kong based company.

Hmm I don't see an update on their self moderated thread can you point out where it moved to

7054  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Americans Getting Poorer on: August 14, 2014, 08:57:09 AM
Getting poorer in the US is really nothing.

You guys really need to travel the world and see what "poverty" really mean.

"poverty" between developed countries.
The issue is poverty US among developed countries in the world,
not with all countries in the world. that's it

Well even in wealthy countries there are pockets of extreme poverty
Take an aboriginal reserve in Canada or Detroit in the USA with its water problems
Although the USA has more than its fair share of ghettos that one is a good example
http://www.metrotimes.com/detroit/duggan-introduces-revamped-efforts-to-address-detroit-water-shut-offs/Content?oid=2231820

And at least in the poor countries if everyone is poor people are generally more happy
Strange equality.

7055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does martingale really works? on: August 14, 2014, 08:51:35 AM
please sharing ur experience use martingale

It works sometimes but it also burns you fairly often
Especially if the streak of losses goes above 8 or you start second guessing and switch sides to get another 4 or so losses including the ones from the side you originally bet on.
Burns pretty quickly I guess is what I would say.
7056  Economy / Services / Re: ★☆★ 777Coin Signature & Personal MSG Campaign ★☆★ Newb,jr,mem Ref Bonus 10%! on: August 14, 2014, 08:49:50 AM
May as well wait there are not that many alternatives to this campaign for newbies and jr members
Except for bitcoinscratchticket or running an affiliate link etc.
7057  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: August 14, 2014, 08:47:03 AM
Can anyone tell me if it's okay if I use this signature? updated it myself, thought I'd bring some new colors to the table. Tongue

Supposedly we're not supposed to use our own ref link the sig.  I don't know if that's actually true, it's just what I heard from someone else in this thread when I asked.

In that case that would mean its ok to make a sig sharing transfer system
Seems like an interesting idea you trust another sig campaigner
They have to trust you as well and you split the profits from their referrers.
7058  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice 3 | Most Popular Bitcoin Game| 0.91% Edge| PVP | Jackpot | Faucet on: August 14, 2014, 08:45:02 AM
any idea when site up

Knowing Stunna probably within a few hours
PD3 and all causing bugs now and then and having a few hiccups.
It shouldn't be too long, perhaps fixing the Socket errors they mentioned a while ago.
7059  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Attn: Human Influenced Climate Change deniers on: August 14, 2014, 08:43:12 AM

Bolded part above about 2025, yes I understand that.  But then your technical article with the 0.4', that didn't compute either.  I honestly don't know why, just was obliged to point it out.  I think you can see my point about gross mis statements of anything remotely near fact in the area of climate science reporting, and sometimes in the science itself.

As for the Australia issue, certainly regional climate is one hell of an impossibility in the some areas with multiple countries, that's why I mentioned AU.  It's a rather unique situation down there, huge chunk of land, mostly desert, almost everyone on the east coast, a few on the west, nothing in between.   Yet sea winds blow inward just like they do elsewheres.  Main problem is, no mountain ranges.

Google "rabbit fence", quite interesting.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/14/science/earth/14fenc.html

Coming back to this and your right there are a fair share of sourcing errors in climate science reporting
The ones that stand out for me are the 2035 prediction for Himalayan Glaciers which was bunked by an India report
http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2010/jan/20/ipcc-himalayan-glaciers-mistake

The UN's climate science body has admitted that a claim made in its 2007 report - that Himalayan glaciers could melt away by 2035 - was unfounded.

The admission today followed a New Scientist article last week that revealed the source of the claim made in the 2007 report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was not peer-reviewed scientific literature – but a media interview with a scientist conducted in 1999. Several senior scientists have now said the claim was unrealistic and that the large Himalayan glaciers could not melt in a few decades.

And of course what preceded that Climategate
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climatic_Research_Unit_email_controversy

So there are definite points of contention to debate.

And googled the rabbit fence it was interesting stuff those pesky wabbits ah had a good old elmer fudd moment
I must admit Australia seems a bit weird but I'm guessing it worked so guess good on them.

From your article I see what you mean now by different climates being possible depending on the vegetation and strata of the landforms which could also impact weather patterns and design an excellent point with climate there definitely are more factors to consider than what is seen initially.

_
And ah the answer to my pondering was at the end of that article ^_^
The bunny fence, as it turns out, failed to prevent rabbits from entering the farmland, but it has successfully blocked kangaroos and emus.

Darn wabbits XD
7060  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: August 12, 2014, 10:11:28 AM
The Facebook page is a Facebook "fan" page, not an officially run page.

Lots of misinformation on that reddit thread...
Yeah I finally read through it all.  One guy actually referred people here for information! Smiley  It's strange how none of the large bitcoin miner manufacturers are releasing any information.  In fact it is strangely quiet.

Well with the fanpage links to its sources so pretty much all stuff we know from Friedcat announcements and supplier posts
Hopes that 10% is AM and heh I guess technically this thread is the official AM website lol.
