7041  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Fund Management Platform ❘|❘ 4days left for 10% bonus on: September 05, 2016, 03:52:44 AM
This will either be a great success or an epic fail lol. It's a 50/50 gamble

All investment are gamble but as you can see the development of this coin and  its features and  a reputable devs  then for sure  it would be successful have a reference on the ICO period  how progressive it was even though the target amount is too bit high but it achieved in no time.
definitely different, with investment you can see whether the person or groups you're going to invest is a trusted or not based on their past or history, but with gamble it's pure luck so it's slightly different but still it's different and 2000 bitcoin for an ICO is not too high to be reached because it can be reached by iconomi in only 1 week so it's such a proof
7042  Economy / Economics / Re: Mining coins save or sell it? on: September 04, 2016, 11:15:34 AM
Not all altcoins are waste, it seems that a few altcoins is a back up for bitcoins and use for exchange and tradings... I use my altcoins exchange to cloud mining that I got it from faucets. I can't participate regularly in exchange services due to my busy time.
you're definitely right, some of altcoins are just being made and only live for a short time but there's also some altcoin that could live until now and quite popular and this kind of altcoin will appear day by day and trying to compete against bitcoin,it's about how the altcoin is being developed by the devs
7043  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way for steady income on: September 04, 2016, 11:11:28 AM
Why to just hold them if  you have an opportunity to grow them, holding  will not increase your number count in wallet even if price goes higher the number of coins will be the same.
when you're holding it's not about how much the bitcoin you're currently owning or the amount of the bitcoin but it's about the value to dollar,to be honest I can say that people are now using bitcoin because of its value to dollar that quite high so the value will matter so much
7044  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way for steady income on: September 04, 2016, 09:29:21 AM
in my opinion to is get profit in better amount is that you should hold btc for a log amd and then sell it for your profit with increase price . in this way we can get profit with small risk .
The question is when the best time to sell , and if you have big amount in your balances , it doesn't matter as long as you can divided your balances into different source . But , hold it for the few years without spending , it's lazy way to earn for me.
the right time to sell is obviously when the price rising up,there's no point to regret when you just get profit and feel that you're selling in such too low price when price rising again, the point you still get the profit, and as you say holding is such a lazy way to earn money, and will only give you low profit if sum all the time you wasted but it's low risk
7045  Economy / Economics / Re: If you were in desperate need for money.... on: September 04, 2016, 09:27:24 AM
If i desperate in money the best solution i can think of is loan from someone, or maybe sell anything that can become money, or maybe borrow money from friends, hopefully when someone desperate they wont try to scam anyone for money

Selling stuff is the better option, because when you don't have any money left, and you take a loan, then you'll get yourself more into troubles if things don't go to plan. That being said, desperate people are the type of people that do scam others in order to get themselves some money.
even if people weren't in need of money they could do scamming, just see those HYIP owner, they're starting their shit website with quite high amount of money lets say it is about 80$ to seek or gain higher money by scamming so you can't generalize that all people who's in desperate will do scamming each other
7046  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitminer.io real or scam? on: September 04, 2016, 09:21:53 AM
I read somewhere that bitminer.io is a rebranded Hashocen, anything associated with Hashocean can be good, instead of investing in mining buy BTC and hold, you know you are in control of your BTC.
i'm sure that the owner of biteminer.io is the same as hashocean because the site was appearing when hashocean getting collapsed and also if I remember few weeks back, few people just find out that there's a hashocean name in their theme's code so it can be a valid proof

and anything associated with hashocean is NOT GOOD
7047  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Steam Account Recovery Question. on: September 04, 2016, 09:19:18 AM
I understand many of us here use Steam or at least have heard of it. This is not a bitcoin service per se, but this is a service that accepts bitcoin.

If I were to lose my Steam Account tomorrow, and contact steam support, they say that I need a valid proof if purchase. Will I be allowed to sign a message from the address I paid with? Does BitPay not give Steam transaction logs, will this not count as a valid proof of purchase, or will it help me get my account back?

I have not lost my account, just asking whether I should look for something else to verify my account with in case I get hacked.
And that is very interesting question. Thanks for bringing it up. Unfortunately I don't think that steam support is that progressive to respect signed message from address used to buy product from them.

First, I am not sure if Steam support has access to bitcoin transaction logs, as Steam uses BitPay to process every BTC purchase.

Second, even if they can confirm your BTC address I am not sure if signed message is considered a proof enough - probably not.

You will still most likely still need your PayPal or Credit Card logs to prove account ownership.

But this is all my speculation, the best way is to ask Steam Support about this issue directly.

i'm not even sure that steam really deeply into bitcoin, all of the problem were bitpay's responsibility so steam have nothing to do with the bitcoin transaction, they will just receiving money in form of fiat not in bitcoin, they're just using API,But as your answer that steam will be asking for another payment proof like paypal or credit cards log but if the accounts was never being linked with those then how?
7048  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you actively spend your bitcoins? on: September 03, 2016, 12:36:30 PM
I hold most of my bitcoin. I think it's better to save bitcoin for future because I believe bitcoin price will rise up. But, I also spend some of it to buy mobile load, internet quota, and steam games.
well if you are going to hold your bitcoin that long then when do you have plan to invest it because you are wasting time to grow your bitcoin there's a lot of ways so that you can grow bitcoin even if it slow earning well if you are going to wait until the bitcoin price will rise up then thats going to take long .

Yeah holding bitcoins is safe but it will not give you higher profits in future but if you try to grow them then you can make good profits in future.
You are right that holding of bitcoin is very safe , i think there is maximum people store their money in bitcoin because bitcoin is very useful currency and its very safest than other currency .

Bitcoin is not safe at all, as we don't know how long it will be alive and what will be its price in future, it can also go below or even get replaced by any other crypto currency.
you're definitely right, the bitcoin's volatile characteristic is definitely not a safe sign to save your money, beside of the price, there's also an important thing that could be worried,it's the security, with poor security it mean that you will only losing your money, but if you sure you can afford all of these things then go with bitcoin
7049  Economy / Economics / Re: WILL BITCOIN BE USED BY ALMOST EVERYONE IN 2022? on: September 03, 2016, 12:32:05 PM
I am not sure if it's going to happen. Bitcoin is becoming more and more popular, but I don't think it will be as popular as mainstream services in five and a half year.

It depends on the  further developmement of the bitcoin infrastrucutre and the general financial technology.

Yeah, it's really depend on that and depend on the bitcoin user too. If they want motivate other people to use bitcoin, maybe everyone will use bitcoin on 2022.

Even if you motivate people around you to use bitcoins, you cannot expect that everyone will start using it as there will be many people who will prefer to stay away from online stuffs.
you're right and also if in 2022 people still counting on local fiat and not going to try a new technology just for example a cryptocurrency named bitcoin then bitcoin's popularity will be remain the same, when you motivate people only small amount will get interested and the rest will don't care
7050  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cointelegraph is promoting scammers on: September 03, 2016, 12:29:31 PM
trust your own judgement, not the ads from any source
be it cointelegraph or bitcointalk
how many scams,HYIPs and "cloud minings" are advertised here?
does it mean that the forum itself is not trustworthy?
how does cointelegraph determine if the advertiser is "legit" or not?

If cointelegraph are using an ad server or ad service, then we can give them the benefit of the doubt since they may not be able to control the ads that appear

but if cointelgraph were to be in direct contact with the scammers and offered a space for scammers to advertise, then we need to question coin telegraph
it's wrong, they're embed those ads manually, and not using advertiser service nor becoming publisher of some advertising site, and it's mean that they're now what exactly they're doing,so no tolerance on it,cointelegraph is already questionable since few months ago because they're dealing with these HYIPs for a long time
7051  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is the Best Bitcoin Marketplace? on: September 03, 2016, 11:29:55 AM
Bitcoins seem like a great alternative to fiat. I also want to use more often. However, there are not much stores accepting. So I come to ask what are the best online market places(like ebay or amazon) for: selling physical goods? game accounts? prohibited goods?

OpenBazaar could be a great option for both selling and buying using BTC however It's not that popular so you won't find much customers , Purse.io is another good option to buy anything from Amazon using BTC.
As for the game accounts , selling in forums is probably your best option right now as there is no dedicated marketplace for selling and buying games accounts for BTC , and for what comes to Prohibited goods then there is no place for it . (only darknet)

Yeah i think open bazaar is popular market place who's accepting btc nowadays(correct me if im wrong) and also shopawl will be an rising star and slowly building up their name in crypto industry, but for now you should do some reasearch regarding to your local wallet provider on what service feature are existing on their wallet, its because maybe they added some features that you can buy some goods using your web wallet application and that we are using now since we don't have really direct market merchants who accept btc at this moment.
I think open bazaar is not that popular because it's now currently gaining its popularity but maybe in the future it will be a big thing
but one thing that could be a problem is only techy people could use this because it's just too advanced to people who's still a beginner in an internet world
7052  Other / Archival / Re: Do you use bitcoin as currency or investment? on: September 02, 2016, 08:44:38 AM
i use bitcoin as investment and i think maximum people are using bitcoin as investment because bitcoin investment is safest and lowest risk of bitcoin.

No, you are wrong with it. Bitcoin is not a low risk investment actually it is very risky if you are going to invest your money with bitcoin. But still
the chance of getting good profit with bitcoin is there if you are just going to be a risk taker. And once you have experienced using bitcoin as investment, then the next would be fine to use it as currency.
Having a big risk in bitcoin it also return with a big profit, and it is good if you put some portion of your money in bitcoin that you afford to lose this will give you additional income which is we can see the value of bitcoin is continuous rising and it will going strong right now. But for me my bitcoin i used it as currency.
investment that having big risk will result good,i can say that bitcoin is the most safest investment if it's in the cryptocurrency but wrong if it's about every investment in this world, bitcoin's price could falling suddenly and it's risky indeed but also could rising up about more than 20% at the same time
7053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trojan hijack my clipboard and change my bitcoin address on: September 02, 2016, 08:42:25 AM
OP, did you have any antivirus software installed? What was that?
If you didn't have, you should consider install one, even one of the free products.
If you did have, please share more details, since maybe there's a product or configuration others also have and it is inefficient.

Thanks for sharing this experience.
you are right, anti virus is really needed nowadays,if it's about money,i really encourage to pay for premium anti virus for the security and safety
it's better paying off the antivirus company for a little money rather than getting hacked than suddenly become poor,it's digital world that criminality is everywhere
7054  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Danger when buying/selling BTC in person on: September 02, 2016, 08:39:16 AM
I don't sell/buy Bitcoins in person. I usually use a reliable escrow service. Sometimes, I do take the risk of selling/buying without escrow, but I have never had any problems either way.

However, I have never sold or bought Bitcoin in person. Like you have read the article I also think that such business with strangers is unsafe.

Smiley
i never do that too to be honest because in my opinion it is just nonsense why would anyone do that when it is so easy to do that on an exchange
I think they are just doing that by person buying bitcoin because they didnt really know what is bitcoin if this is scam or not.. so they are looking for someone to meet so that they can sure about bitcoin if this is true or not..
Honestly we can easily exchange fiat in online you dont need to meet someone to buy bitcoins..
There are many trusted escrow if you want buying bitcoin into person online but i think much safe if you buy bitcoin with meet up method which is less risk, less fees and less worries but it is hassle if the both parties was too far in each other.
as he said, meeting with strangers is unsafe especially if the place weren't really safe or atleast guard or police isn't there/near,escrow is indeed the best option but it'd require you to pay little fees but it's no problem and some escrow here even doing it for free, just the most important thing, choose only escrower who have so many good reputation
7055  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cointelegraph is promoting scammers on: September 02, 2016, 08:31:01 AM

@OP, I think so, they must look over the site first before advertising it. Reputable/legit sites must help people out to avoid scam sites and not advertise it for people to be scammed.
no, it's no use, cointelegraph actually know what's exactly a website that they're advertised, they even having a small banner that having hyperlink to the cointelegraph's referral link, they just don't need to look over the site because they're not forbid any Ponzi site and consider those sites as a money machine
7056  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin help poor countries? on: September 02, 2016, 08:28:06 AM
it can bring wealth to poor countries who dont have access to banking, which means that people can lend to others to promote entrepreneurial sprit
banking activity have nothing to do with the poor economy because most of people in the poor country don't have a bank account, and when people are lending their money to others, mostly of them will give a monthly interest or weekly so it's really not helping
7057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are bitcoin ATMs worth using? on: September 02, 2016, 08:25:45 AM
I think they are great at promoting bitcoin, if people start seeing bitcoin atm's everywhere it will be great for the brand.  Although i do think that they are abit pricey but sometimes if you are only buying a small amout then its fine, and its good to support those who accept bitcoin.
I worried that people will think that bitcoin is some short of bank or anything related into it if the bitcoin ATM were placed near to local's bank ATM
some people will try to search in the internet what is bitcoin but the rest is not, they will just let their opinion,if there's some short explanation in the ATM that'd be great to entertain people
7058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could Monero replace Bitcoin soon? on: August 31, 2016, 02:59:10 AM
I think ETC will replace ETH before XMR replaces BTC.

But if you check out the price ETC is sinking rapidly compared to ETH. While XMR will continue to go up, there's 0% chance that could replace BTC.
ETC will cant replace ETH and XMR will have a chance but only a little,to replace bitcoin it not only need the price to up but also so many factors like how is the coin being used by its users as ordinary cryptocurrency
7059  Economy / Speculation / Re: Warning on: August 30, 2016, 11:39:56 PM
Look at the bright side: You can buy cheaper Bitcoin, and you can play with alts, since usually some alts pump go up when BTC goes down. ETC is looking good.
How if our funds still in form of bitcoin,i guess this fud is ain't funny for us,spreading fear through unreasonable opinion is such a bad thing,a price falling will always bad for bitcoin but not for traders
7060  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you use a Bitcoin debit card? on: August 30, 2016, 12:06:04 PM
i see no reason to use it, i have my wallet i can use my bitcoin directly why i need to use a debit card with bitcoin, i can just mine with fiat, bitcoin imho is meant to be used as a currency
bitcoin debit card will help you a lot when you're going to make a withdrawal of your bitcoin through your local atm, because sometimes you can't get in touch with the exchangers, and also you can use it for buying things in a popular site like amazon or ebay that's now they're not accepting bitcoin directly unfortunately
