7081  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum classic was attacked? on: August 01, 2020, 09:17:53 PM
I'm really curious if ETC takes over most of the mining power after ETH goes PoS. Then, such attacks will be simply inefficient. Or, on the other hand, that may cause some huge mining players to try to take over some smaller networks to perform shady transactions. 2020/2021 will be an interesting time...

Perhaps, specially those ETH miners who doesn't want or at least don't have the 32 ETH for the staking.

It is very interesting that one offending miner can do all of this?

Quote
Is It An Attack?
It could be that the offending miner has lost access to internet access for a while when mining, which led to a 12 hour mining period and about 3000 blocks inserted. On the first 2000 blocks, there was 1 miner and a total of 5 transactions. It also seems that the offending miner has uncled their own blocks by how fast they were mining. It doesn’t appear actively malicious. It might be a deliberate attack as well, but it doesn’t seem there was any major double-spend attack. More investigation of what happened is underway and more information will be released soon.

https://hackmd.io/@cUBb4hAvQciAEPoU2yfrzQ/Skd4X6MZw

I doubt the "lost access to the internet" scenario here, there's more to it and for me it looks like a deliberate attack on the network by this offending miner to create his on-chain for a 51% attack.
7082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Angelo Leo vs. Tramaine Williams WBO Junior Featherweight title Fight on: August 01, 2020, 08:28:55 PM
Tramaine Williams has a hype around him and that is why he is the favourite here. Lefty, with decent power, but at the stage of his career, I don't see something special about him, still raw.

Same with Angelo Leo, but Angelo here is more tested as he face better opposition specially against the relentless Cesar Juarez, last December 2019 in the undercard of Davis-Gamboa. For Filipino boxing fans out there, it is the same Cesar Juarez that KO. the highly touted Albert Pagara, and give Nonito Donaire one hell of a fight.

I will give the underdog Angelo Leo to upset the favourite Williams here. If this goes to a brawl, Angelo will have the advantage, if Williams choose to fight outside and in the distance, he can score points, but Leo can fight outside as well. So this is a good odds for the underdog and very attractive. I will bet on Leo here.  Smiley

Note: Angelo Leo is being promoted by Mayweather Promotions. They have one common opponent in the past, Filipino Neil John Tabanao, which both of them defeated.

7085  Bitcoin / Legal / Putin signed a law on the regulation of cryptocurrencies from 2021 on: July 31, 2020, 10:46:45 PM
Ok, so here it goes,

Quote
MOSCOW, July 31 - RIA Novosti. Vladimir Putin signed a law that will allow transactions with digital financial assets (DFA) from 2021, but will ban cryptocurrencies as a means of payment in Russia.

https://ria.ru/20200731/1575229960.html

The question is why does it take too long for Putin to sign this law, Lol. We all know that they have a hard line stance against crypto, I'm expecting this signing and implementation much earlier.

And who are going to challenge this law? There could be someone inside Russia that is influential in the crypto sphere, but I doubt they will make a U-turn.

I used Google Translate.
7086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gervonta Davis vs Leo Santa Cruz on: July 31, 2020, 10:11:31 PM
In the fields of boxing, it is hard to guess if who is wins except for their respective strength they are both good and hardworking. we could not be hiding that in reality, Gervonta Davis is too much older in the fields of boxing which are comparing to Leo Santa Cruz if we are thinking about the power punch according to the research the left hook of Leo Santa Cruz is very strong so I think this coming event is very nice.

I have to disagree with you here mate. Winners in the boxing match is not so hard to predict that is why we have an overwhelming favorite in betting, if you bet on the heavy favorite, most like betting sites will let you win 1% of your bet.

Very well explain, we only have 2 fighters in the ring and to put our bets so I don't know how difficult it is to bet and predict who are going to win because we have odds.  Grin

On this fight, Santa Cruz is the underdog here i suppose since the stronger puncher here would be Davis. Upset could happen but IMO, it's has a slim chance to happen in this fight unless Sta. Cruz will KO Davis but that's not going to happen.

Davis should be the more powerful puncher here, it's just the law of science, short distance to travel, shorter fighter generates explosiveness which Davis possesses.
7087  Economy / Speculation / Re: A move (almost) no one is expecting: gap at $11795 on: July 31, 2020, 09:43:06 PM
A quick drop back to test the lows is what I expect but at present its not expected at all which would make it quite effective in terms of shock value.   I dont think we get as high as 11.7k and if we do then its a bigger achievement then the market has achieved so far.   I'd have to counter that we got as high as 11.7k then we have further business at that level, it will have beaten this range of some months which then would likely prove as support after we exceed it.
(....)
I am more positive to see $9,000 before $11,700 - $12,000. Maybe we can get more below but this can be happen with again, a huge red candle wicks.
Since July 28, 2020, bitcoin's price still on sideways $10,000+ - $11,100+, this is much better as long as we don't fall again below $9,000 but there are still huge dump effect once we fall again that area, just my 2 cents.
Small pullbacks will be healthy for Bitcoin, let's hope we will not experience a huge wicks, green or red candle wicks.

I'm leaning towards $11,500 before we can see a pull back, we have broken the latest highest high for this year at the price is above $11,300 already. And if goes to $11,500, then probably another huge dump of 20%-30% before moving forward to $12k-$15k. That is typical of the market cycles and I would say that this pull backs are really that good in the long run because more hands are going to enter if we see the price below $10k again.
7088  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter Hacker Arrested! on: July 31, 2020, 09:11:56 PM
I knew that sooner or later those hackers are going to be caught, specially when he targeted high profile accounts that included an ex-President of the United States of America. And then a news surfaced after the hack that it was indeed teenagers who perpetuated this, they even interview him.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/17/technology/twitter-hackers-interview.html

FBI stepped up to join the picture and this is the result. Good job.

I agree with @DarkDays, he can be tried as adult here because of the severity of his crimes. Meaning longer jail time for this 17 year old. There are two more suspects, one US based and one in UK.
7089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The IRS Wants to Track & Trace Privacy Coins and the LN on: July 30, 2020, 10:20:32 PM
And that is why there are a lot of heat on privacy coins since 2018 and it seems that IRS is taking one step further but I don't know how they are going to break down privacy coins like Monero or bitcoin being mix in a bitcoin tumbler? I don't think it will be successful though.

As for the tax, they should target Centralised Exchange (if they hadn't done so), for tax. Because it's going to be very messy for both parties if they target privacy coins and those crypto investors who wanted their anonymity here.
7090  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next Bitcoin Bull Run Will Be ‘Dramatically Different’ on: July 30, 2020, 09:52:52 PM
It will still be the same in my opinion, same as what happen to the 2017 bubble. The one that push it are those "irrational buyers" or what we call FOMO. Institutional money are already inside since the bear market, whales are just around the corner playing in the market. But what we haven't seen is retail investors who are willing to sell their house just to get in the bandwagon in the bull run, whether in the middle or at the tail end of it. High quality projects? did he mean upgrade to an existing one? Because I haven't seen any in the last 2-3 years except hype one specially in the IEO era and now this DeFi.
7091  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING ]: Fury vs Wilder III in Las Vegas on 18th July 2020 !!! on: July 30, 2020, 09:30:38 PM
Quote
“I’m coming for Wilder first, then I'm going to come for Joshua. Then I'm gonna come for whoever else wants the smoke. You're all getting annihilated, every single one of you. Ain't no stopping us now. Anyone who does will get smashed to bits, terminated, plowed over like a stone in the road. I’m getting better with age, like a fine wine," Fury said, according to The Mirror.

But according to Joshua:

Quote
“I wonder what people see in Fury that is so intimidating that he can’t be touched? Wladimir Klitschko was his first real challenge and he won that. That took him eight years to get there – from the amateurs to there. Then he had years out and fought Wilder," Joshua said.

“But he has not been in the deep end to prove that he can swim there for a long time, you don’t just come there once or twice, you have to do it repeatedly against championship level fighters, that is how you gain my respect.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/tyson-fury-vows-annihilate-deontay-wilder-then-anthony-joshua--150530

I do agree that Fury is somewhat above the two right now and could do the proverbial, "walk the talk". And I think Joshua is wrong here, Fury was knock down by Wilder in the first fight, and we didn't think that he can get up from down devastating punch he took from Wilder, so that alone show how Fury can react to any situation and bounce back.
7092  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CFTC Chair: ‘A Large Part’ of Financial System Could End Up in Blockchain Format on: July 30, 2020, 01:02:36 PM
it sounds like another case of someone using the buzzword "blockchain" without understanding it.

Exactly, it's the current buzzword, specially that it was just added on the dictionary, Cryptocurrency, ICO and Blockchain Officially Added to the Dictionary

[.. snip ..]

So it doesn't really make sense for them to jump into the whole blockchain craze, spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to replace their legacy system and think that they will gain a lot from moving into blockchain technology without understanding layers and layers of security protocol. Better for them to used traditional centralised relational databases.

7094  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots discussion thread on: July 30, 2020, 12:40:22 AM
A long list.

If you checked roobet, we have more than 950+ slot with more than 10 game provider. Did you really can handle and make it the "List"? I mean other people not really helping so much and checked every slot. Also, to be honest when me joined "Guess The Slot By Roobet" I used a website review to check the slot contains all information. If anyone want to know the information of the slot want they used, then just used google or youtube to see the information.

In addition to that, not all slots are available per country, so long list and then some slots that are not allowed to be played if you are in Asia, US or EU and then you have to broken down per country in that region, so it will be a long list.
7095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Top prediction-maker on Tradingview gives in on NWC token on: July 28, 2020, 10:29:14 PM
They just announced Visa payments. Judging by what happened when they announced Mastercard, this coin is set to explode again. The chart in recent days speaks for itself.

Here is the link for those who are interested about the Mastercard system:

https://medium.com/@maagbo10/how-to-buy-nwc-token-using-mastercard-4831fa311a35

Haven't follow this token, but I've checked and it has gain a lot in the last month or so.

Not sure how sustainable the growth is, this is just the beginning and we can't totally predict what will happen to this token in the future so just like any other tokens out there, enjoy while their is a pump and take your profits. But be very cautious as well as there are no parabolic rise here.
7096  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gervonta Davis vs Leo Santa Cruz on: July 28, 2020, 08:58:04 PM
Leo Sta Cruz could be the spoiler if he beats Davis, there are mega fights ready for Davis against Haney and Garcia and the Golden Boy promotions are also cooking the Davis Garcia fight but it will not happen if Sta Cruz beat Davis, so there are so many things at stake for Davis for  this fight.

Leo Sta Cruz could be a spoiler but as i've said on my previous post, that possibility is very slim. Davis is the cash cow here and for sure his promoters are making sure that their fighter would not lose and at the same time they will hype this fight as if this is hard one for Davis to win. Sta. Cruz is not a knock out artist and he rely only on the volume of punches he threw while Davis can knock out him out cold even in round one if given the opportunity.

I usually bet on the underdog but not this one as i think this is a sure win for Davis.

Yes, he could be a spoiler, but I agree that Davis has all the edge in this fight. Leo is good no questions about it he has been in a lot of good fights and a champion himself, but Davis is really that good and at his prime and has a knock out power. And Leo's chin are going to be tested here and can be crack by Davis in just one punch. So the odds are against Leo here. And Davis is smart and intelligent, he won't overlook Leo here, he will win and then talk about the next money fight.
7097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi Anticipated To Reach $5 Billion In Total Value on: July 28, 2020, 08:06:24 PM
More than that, and one thing that put more hype on this is that you can put a bet on what will be the price at the end of the year, What will the total value locked (TVL) in DeFi be at the end of 2020, according to DefiPulse?(Range: $1.00B-$9.00B). Run by Polymarket, a Gnosis-based prediction market, so it will be very bullish, that's for sure.

[..snip..]

[..snip..]

$5 billion is already a lot of money isn't it? So for me this is not just a hype as the money involved is huge already. Yes, ETH is really doing good because of this DeFi and having its all bull run. But DeFi is different though in my opinion, everyone can say that this is hype all along but we will have to wait when this bubble are going to be burst or when the parabolic rise ended.

Yeah, that's huge amount I will agree, and we really don't know where the money is coming from. But the point is that it seems to be just a hype, and I think others have agree that this is very similar to ICO in 2017, but this time, Defi pace is very slow as compare to ICO but the end result will be the same. Many are going to loss money when the whole bubble is burst.
7098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gervonta Davis vs Leo Santa Cruz on: July 26, 2020, 11:15:40 PM
@bisdak40 - that's strange bro, there are a lot of questions after the fight, what is Leo wins, what belt is he going to defend? Will Davis will go up in weight or remain at 130?

I think this fight is some sort of a tune up for Davis bro, to keep him busy while waiting for this pandemic to be over. No offense to Leo's fans here but for him to win this fight is close to impossible. He maybe a volume puncher but that would change once he will be hit by those power punches of Davis and take the confidence off him. After this fight, Davis will vacate the 130 as the money fight for him is as Lightweight division. Ryan Garcia, Loma and even Linarez would be next in line for him.

Yes, that's one possibility, and I think this is a good cherry pick fight for Davis and they know that they can win this. Leo's has a good record a champion, so in paper looks like the fight is even and close. But Davis is one level high as compare to Leo. So if he wins, he will gonna call Loma or Ryan Garcia or Haney, hehehe.
7099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi Anticipated To Reach $5 Billion In Total Value on: July 26, 2020, 07:09:12 PM

Thank you for this link, I'm not aware that you can bet and sell your options with this Polymarket. And it's interesting to note as well that based on it, Defi is now around $7 billion. So definitely it could be as hype as the ICO in 2017, but here's the thing, people are actually make money, but you have to wait for months or years because getting the profit and this is a good thing and that is why it is growing rapidly.

I read some news that it has broken $5 billion already (not sure the $7 billion), so I guess all investors are jumping in and trying to make a slice out of that big pie. So if we go by that axiom, the more people to enter the picture the more it will grow obviously and it can trigger the next bull run for altcoin market, which looks like it has started as ETH has broken $300. So it looks like it we are moving in the right direction with DeFi but I will still be cautious.
