Anyone know if Crypsty DRK withdrawls are working ok today? I'd like to move my DRK to local wallet.

For cryptsy I start sending like 1 drk, then you can be sure its working

Is anybody still trading on Cryptsy ?

I thought the whole world had moved to Mintpal.

Resistance vapourising 500 Satoshis ahead of price due to excess demand.

I'd rather see slow and steady than this madness

The thing about the cryptocurrency markets is that they are still very small.

The other thing is that you can get a general sentiment emerging where everyone is privately thinking the same thing, but because it appears no-one else is thinking it they hold off committing.

Then when the "market" discovers a new breakout, everybody thinks "ah..I knew that was gonna happen, I've been thinking that all a long" and immediately identify with the general sentiment.

Thats what happened to me, but I did something about it just a few weeks ago thinking I was arriving at a very late stage in the game and wishing I'd got in earlier. I'm sure people getting in now think that they're late as well. Lets see in a month's time what the price of a masternode is and how hard it is to get hold of 1000 DRK.

Sometimes genuine revaluations are rapid once the surface tension breaks on a market.

138 resistance (changed my terminology  Wink ) vapourised in 90 secs. due to excess demand.

Are you ready for a new price barrier (0.024 BTC/DRK) in 4 hours?

What's so significant about 0.024 ?
7106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 16, 2014, 09:01:13 AM
13 Sellwall just vaporised due to excess coin demand.

No serious liquidity available now till 135

So now any coin can implement CoinJoin and claim to be the new DarkCoin?

No they can't.

Because CoinJoin is a client side technology, so it only works for payments, not receipts.

Meanwhile, when it comes to privacy, most people are far more secretive about their income than their expenditure. CoinJoin is no use there because you haven't got any control over what client people are using to send you money. All it can do is hide the transactions that you are making outbound.

That would make me choose DRK over BTC!

Folks, remember when your comparing prices, you've got to take account of the coin supply.

DRK's current coin supply is on third of Bitcoin's and a fifth of Litecoin's.

That means if you value DRK at, say, half Litecoin's price then the supply corrected target price would be (LTC x 5) / 2 = 0.06 BTC.

I'm not saying that half LTC's price is the right or wrong valuation, that's for people to decide themselves. I'm just saying you need to take account of coin supply when calculating it.

Another thing that's going reduce DRK's coin supply is the amount of DRK that's removed from it to support masternodes. That will further drive the price because that part of the supply will never reach any markets.
7109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 16, 2014, 12:42:38 AM
With such a risky chart those buys are for one thing only - profit from the pump. Therefore I would exercise caution.

There will certainly be profit taking.

But that has happened on every coin during valuation revisions. The amount of profit taking that goes on depends on the long term viability of the asset. The money doesn't just come out of this coin - it's got to go into another that the holder thinks will be more profitable. On the other hand, if they think this one is, it'll stay in.

Also remember these coins are open source, features are only as valuable as the time it takes for someone to copy it to another coin (i.e. days/weeks). Or am I wrong about this?

Originals are originals. Once they acquire a dominant market position it's very difficult to shake them loose. They certainly don't get shaken loose by clones that improve on the technology. Look at:

Bitcoin
Peercoin
Litecoin
NXT

All of these are top 10 market caps which have existing competitors or impending ones which are way more advanced in their technology sector.

Yet it doesn't do jack to their valuations.

That's because there are socio-economc reasons for their persistence which are way more powerful than improved or copied technology. For a start, once the majority of the market's invested in something, they need a damn good reason to go through the whole painful process to de-invest and re-invest in an untried competitor who's ultimate valuation is a complete unknown. The market wants safety. It doesn't care about better technology once it's found one that "works".

How many "coins" have copied Bitcoin's source code ? How many coins have Bitcoin's valuation ?

How many "coins" have copied Litecoin's source code ? How many coins have Litecoin's valuation ?

Also, as the dev of this coin stated earlier in this thread. "Are they going to clone me ?". And that is a very relevant point, because he is a known quantity who has established a record of technical competence and delivery that probably outweighs any marginal technical advantages that a competitor might come up with.

Also, it has now been stated that so called "signature coins" are on the RC3 roadmap for Darkcoin. That just about hammers the final nail in the coffin for any prospective competitive threat for me - in the medium term at least.

Just sayin. You can't ignore facts in front of your face. (At least I can't Smiley  ).

The thing is, Blackcoin didn't offer Anything. It was just a pump and dump in the definition of the word.

Darkcoin, on the other hand has substance

+1

I sat the Blackcoin pump out and didn't offload at the top.

Then I thought I'd learned my lesson and jumped off the CINNI bandwagon as it levelled off at 22 - it went to 38 !

This coin is nothing like either of the above. I bought it weeks ago because it was an actual original and ongoing work in progress. It is simply undervalued and is now going through a valuation revision.

I don't care what pumps and crashes it does this week. I won't be letting go of a single one.

DRK just decided to draw the last 6 months Bitcoin chart using time-lapse photography.

If we watch what happens next we can all be millionaires by front-running next month's Bitcoin market  Wink

Possible correction incoming.

Don't forget to deploy DRK coin loss procedure:

[1] - detect incoming correction as opportunity for accumulation

[2] - dump at the first hint of a drop

[3] - wait for a sufficient spread for a 10% buy-back profit

[4] - oops, no liquidity

[5] - buy some CINNI instead and hope for the best

You're expecting too much. I'd rather we keep a $25M+ price for a while. I don't want DRK ending up like Blackcoin.

+1 +1 +1

I think we are getting closer to the psychologically important barrier of $100m, expect breakout support from there to $300m.

I thought you ditched your coins.

You must've bought them back.

look at that volume in mintpal:

24 Hour Statistics
BTC Volume 9965.857 BTC

7213.224 BTC from darkcoin alone...

BTC-e may want a slice of that.
7117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 15, 2014, 10:16:33 PM
That big crash follows. But in DRK's case, it goes up even more  Wink

NxT had a double top this morning and it's just broken though in the last couple hours on the third attempt.

It saw DRK catching up its rear and decided to wake tf. up and get its A*ss in gear which it duly did.

Race now on.

Masternodes are getting kind of expensive.

Nearly $7000 per node now.

Double top forming.

One of them has formed at several of the resistance points on the way up. Usually gets it on the third go and if it doesn't, a flash crash takes place followed by a massive rally 24 hours later.

7120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 15, 2014, 05:40:50 PM
how much of an upward trend are the charts still showing?

Plenty.

When we were at 1.2, rate of increase of momentum was starting to wane a little bit. In fact I was getting ready to profit take on a few coins. But then it just took off again.

The charts are not much use in this type of situation.

The reason for that is that as soon as it starts to correct, all the whales get ready to pile into the dip. So you sell, thinking you're being clever and catching the top of the wave, then after just a 10-20% drop, in they come in and kick you out of the market in the space of 60 seconds, leaving you behind like a withered wreck while the train races off over the horizon.

Day trading this is for grown ups only. I'm staying well out of it. In fact I think the rest of my exchange account is now destined for cold wallet in case I give myself any smart ideas.
