7121  Other / Meta / Re: Infographic Stealing on: May 25, 2019, 08:48:11 PM
Lets not complicate things here if we start going after infographic thefts that means we have to go after image (picture) thefts too because most infographic information on the forum are in the form of images. For those infographic that have copyright or watermark (sorry don't know if that was the right word to use) but I means those infographic that have a form of identification of creator, if those type of infographic are edited, removing the creators identify in the process and rebroadcasted as theirs then that can be considered as plagiarism but for those who don't have a form of identity of creator, they can always be rebroadcast since the plagiarism rules on the forum isn't that strict on rebroadcasting of image on the forum. Although if those information were created by member of forum and they were gotten from forum then it's best to qoute the infographic directly from OP or it will be considered plagiarism.
7122  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BestMixer is gone, seized by the Financial Crime Investigation on: May 25, 2019, 06:40:45 PM
What really funny is actually a reaction of hero members that praised and prayed to bestmixer making of it a big example to other mixers.

This is what you basically get when you talk bullshit about other mixers.

So where are you heading with this statement of yours lol. The situation bestmixer currently find themselves in, has nothing to do with their downgrading of other mixers. it was just a business strategy they employed. Irrespective of whether your downgrade other mixer or not, if the government body have you under their radar they'll come for you.
7123  Economy / Reputation / Re: Stake.com (SteveStake) is encouraging spam. on: May 25, 2019, 06:21:02 PM
I think there should be a thread regarding this issue on META,then it may get attention of theymos and will conclusion to all these spam invaders just like what happened to YOBIT.

Anyone agrees that it needs to be moved to META now?

Be rest assured theymos has already seen this thread beside during the time of the whole yobit madness this signature campaign was also mentioned numerous times but I guess the fact the campaign is been managed from the forum is what's still keeping it active.

For now, we can only report spam post then wait for moderators to do their jobs if you feel it still needs theymos's intervention you can send him a DM with link to thread, no need moving thread to meta.
7124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DigitexFitures (DGTX) isn't an exit scam project, give it sometime. on: May 25, 2019, 01:16:56 PM
OP, you are advocating way too much on DGTX and I don't believe that the people will trust you about your statement that is not a paid post or advertisement.

Not associated to the project in any form although I bought some more token which I was privilege to buy around 0.02cents recently after the whole dumping process occured. I see something in the project I followed it from ICOs even when it reach a all time high of 0.1+ cents. Most Altcoin are just duplicates of already existing coins in regards to the utility they offer but I see something different in this particular token (I might be wrong but let's give the token something to prove itself).
7125  Economy / Reputation / Re: How DT gang works behind the scenes on: May 25, 2019, 12:06:43 PM
For the first claim, there's nothing wrong for a moderator to PM a campaign manager informing him of the unwritten rules that help safeguard the forum. A manager can easily get tagged for employing scammers into their signature campaign as that act can be considering an untrustworthy act. The trust system was implemented to identify scammers/safeguard forum members from scammers, so if your account is red tagged technically it means you're either one or engaged in an untrustworthy act.

For your second claim, although the whole discussion can't be access since that's an image from what i see your statement was considered off topic that's why it was deleted. If you think it wasn't off topic can you explain how your statement relate to the discussion above it?
7126  Other / Meta / Re: Spamming Announcements section with fake replies!! on: May 25, 2019, 10:36:17 AM
Get rid of the Alt Coin Ann board as it is and every coin gets their own sub board there. We could maybe charge a fee for this privilege.

I have some issues with this suggestions as this will put more responsibility on the forum. We have numerous ICO/IEO launching daily and they'll all love to capitalize on this suggestion of yours which means more moderators will be required also a large number of the community members especially newbies might see this as a form of endorsement to the project with subboard dedicated to them over others that don't have, just as they saw the acceptance of Grin as a payment options. If the forum was to go ahead with this suggestion that means they will have to moderate scam by not giving the scam projects this privilege but we all know the forum doesn't moderate scam that's why it can't be held responsible for any scam event carried out on the forum

What then happens if a project that was given a subboard turns out to be scam, this can damage the reputation of the forum. @hilariousetc can you clear me on this.
7127  Other / Meta / Re: Spamming Announcements section with fake replies!! on: May 25, 2019, 07:00:37 AM
But if you can get the forum profile name of this users they can be tagged If they went against the rules

Point of correction, spam isn't worthy of leaving negative feedbacks since it isn't trade related. (users shouldn't get tagged for posting habbit) we have other punishment like post deletion or banned punishment which can be achieved by reporting their post to moderators.
7128  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Benefits of asking questions as a newbie on: May 25, 2019, 06:54:50 AM
In as much as you encourage newbies to ask questions so they with benefit from the four points you listed above and many more benefits not listed, you should also informed the higher ranked users to welcome this guys with open hands instead of attacking them at every given chance they get. Such acts will only discourage more people from asking questions. Asking questions is also a form of research and people tend to understand better when their questions are been answered instead of threating them like fools who don't know how to make use of the google search functions.
7129  Other / Meta / Re: Spamming Announcements section with fake replies!! on: May 25, 2019, 06:38:17 AM
That section of the forum is lost forever to spam and there isn't much we can do about it since most active spam busters of the forum that have the interest of the forum at heart are bitcoin enthusiast that's why they concentrate more on bitcoin related sections in regards to reporting spam.

You can do the forum a favor by taking it upon yourself to report any spam (worthless post) you find and they'll be deleted. Also if the fee those ANN thread bumping service provider are requesting aren't that huge you can sacrifice some $$ for the forum, hiring their service and wait until you have enough evidence (high number of accounts) then start a thread reporting all the accounts they use for the service and they all will be ban.
7130  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: African bitcointalk community hangout on: May 25, 2019, 05:20:56 AM
I've been off the forum for a while, but just recently returned and am elated to see a gathering of the African community (mostly Nigerian though).

Welcome back, the initiative of this hangout thread was made after an attempt to get a local board for the Nigeria Community failed but decided to make it an African hangout thread so other neighboring countries won't feel left out but if I notice only Nigerians are actively contributing to the thread, like 10-15. I no go waste time make an strictly 9ja business.
7131  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 05-May-2019] on: May 25, 2019, 01:55:33 AM
3-
Quote from: SteveStake
No minimum posts per week

That's actually a good thing, I wish more signature ad campaign had no minimum quotas of posts per week, people shouldn't be incentivized to make useless posts or risk getting booted out of a campaign.

Although a maximum amount of post should be set to prevent spamming of the forum without limits and it should be a reasonable amount like let say maximum of 7-10 post per day i.e maximum of 50-70/week is somehow appropriate.
7132  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do bounty participants enjoy longer or shorter campaigns? on: May 24, 2019, 08:09:24 PM
Whatever figure they place here as an equivalent in USD is just wishful thinking at best, and knowingly deceiving if not.

I beg to differ unless if you're referring to scam bounty then I don't but for those legit ones the USD tagged to the amount of coins they allocated to bounty hunters is usually based on their ICO sale price. Example if the ICO price was $0.01 and they allocated 10million token for bounty which is $10,000 in USD then it isn't deceiving since if they were to include those token in the ico it would have given them $10,000 from sales of all the tokens.
7133  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: May 24, 2019, 01:26:21 PM
@RivAngE just keep posting and enjoying your stay on the forum. Is not that nobody didn't appreciate your efforts, is just that people that saw it didn't or they did but didn't have smerits as of then to merit you. Don't compete with anyone just enjoy the forum as we watch bitcoin price and development achieve greater success. Keep contributing positively as you're doing even though you don't get instant rewards, luck might just be on your side someday and your account will get reviewed, rewarding all your quality contributions in the process.
7134  Other / Meta / Re: Let's finally remove Locked and Self Mod topics from the Marketplace on: May 24, 2019, 12:17:10 PM
I don't see any harm a self moderated thread does I feel it should be encouraged across all baords including even meta. Lets observe the board in question (Marketplace boards and subboard) a self moderated thread helps to prevent off topic replies and sig spam reducing the workload on moderators. If you feel a self moderated thread will encourage scams then don't patronize goods or services started with a self moderated thread from a member you don't trust.

In as much as you want freedom of speech you still have to respect OP decisions. I do observe off topic replys on service thread that if a self moderated option was active it would had done the trick in deleting such irrelevant discussions. Self moderated thread helps prevent irrelevant discussions so it shouldn't be discouraged.
7135  Other / Meta / Re: A huge thank you to the account recovery team. on: May 24, 2019, 10:48:58 AM
Glad to see some good positive news about the administrators of the forum. We need more positive news not all the negativity following around the forum. Welcome back, kudos for displaying gratitude +1.
7136  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Profile url on: May 24, 2019, 08:35:12 AM
Just like you were told, click on your username beside every post you make (e.g like this current post) the url on your browser is your profile link. If I understand clearly you're just posting to get the profile link because you already know how. if that's correct welcome to the forum.
7137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Some suggestions on unique Altcoins to research on on: May 24, 2019, 07:03:05 AM
Right now I want to start investing in ideas not shitcoins. So I was thinking of an altcoins that offer something different, something unique that no other current altcoins are offering and that something has to be a realistically achievable idea. Presently I only have one which I won't mention to avoid you guys seeing this thread as an advert thread. I don't care if they're currently trading on exchange or still on ICO/IEO stage. Just drop your suggestions and reason why you think it'll be a perfect investment choice. Got some spare fund and I'm not afraid to use them.
7138  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: May 23, 2019, 10:07:23 PM
NB: Decentralize your Merit and smerit holdings, to put smile on others.  Kiss

You can't decentralized spend your merits only smerits and you giving this advice sounds funny as you did received some merit yourself (have at least one smerits for weeks now) but haven't sent any. So you should lead by example by meriting deserving post when you see them (you have 5smerits now) go put smile on other people's face.
7139  Other / Meta / Re: Need an answer on: May 23, 2019, 09:38:01 PM
Is it to do with reputation or a scam accusation?

Meta is not the place for bountry stuffs, it's better off putting them in reputation or scam accusations.
So here the problem and maybe you can give advice to me where i must post it? I really appreciate it, So they said that i was have same address with other bitcointalk username and i want to straighten it out.

This is definitely a reputation worthy discussio. If I was to understand your statement, you're been accused of cheating a bounty campaign with alt account so you can open a new thread explaining yourself and Requesting the attention of bounty manager by sending s/he a DM to respond to thread. Other forum members will be willing to investigate your issue but you should note if you did cheat same campaigns with alts you will not only loss your allocations but you'll also get red tagged on both accounts for cheating with alts. So unless you're innocent don't bit more than you can chew. For now go and sins no more.
7140  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: African bitcointalk community hangout on: May 23, 2019, 01:13:46 PM
Well I read an article sometime in the past concerning the influence gambling has on Africa youths and I must say I wasn't happy with what I read. Due to gambling the youths are becoming lazy and hungry for quick money which resulted to scamming others when they fall out of luck with betting.

No doubt betting has a strong hold in the Africa community and again that can be attributed to the high rate of poverty but will that be the perfect catalyst? Sure when you talk of publicity gambling with cryptocurrency can do the trick but what category of youth will such advert method introduced into the African bitcoin (cryptocurrency) community, just gamblers right? Well that's not the best catalyst

BTW About the signature thingy, you're free to wear the signature but that doesn't guarantee anything Wink
