7121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Non-spendable Bitcoins and Imported wallet address on: November 02, 2019, 05:11:19 PM
In response to OP’s last reply, to tell you the truth, the dude’s just trying to fool you and not the blockchain network’s security. Asking you 3BTC to unlock what’s in the wallet can’t be any more stupider actually, and if you happen to buy into that sort of thing, you’ll eventually just lose your funds and tada! Easy money for the guy who sold/gave you the software.

My advice: just move on as what you’re asking here is impossible. You can’t brute-force private keys off of addresses, moreso will you ever unlock that coins which are not spendable by sending another 3 BTC.
7122  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Incentives for Inflating Cryptocurrency on: November 01, 2019, 06:58:27 PM
-snip-

I also have thought of a dynamic inflation rate, but what decides it ultimately, I don’t know. It could be subject to a multitude of questions from the community and might end up being a centralized thing since the ones who control the code basically controls everything. As for a fixed rate, I don’t think 3-4% would do, as then again this would entirely be dependent on how well would the economy of your token/coin work. Anyhow, I guess we’ll see once you get live. Until then, there’s a lot of reading and analyzing on inflation as it’s a never-ending as to whether it’s actually better to have it or not.
7123  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Leaked information. Are we really safe at all? on: November 01, 2019, 06:37:36 PM
Just don’t click the links and never trust any emails from Bitmex unless you see it on their official announcements. Even better, just change your email address and you’ll be done with the bombardment of spam, nasty links and other stuff that people might send you. No passwords whatsoever were leaked, only someone in their customer support department clicked the wrong button and we have this mayhem laid before us.
7124  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Any website out there to keep track of trade orders on: November 01, 2019, 06:21:05 PM
I don’t trust free automated services for tracking trade orders, but I do create my own spreadsheets and list it from there. Create a simple equation in MS Excel and just post your trades there, making it as accurate as possible without the possibility of your trade info being leaked into the open. There are some portfolio managers but they don’t list individual trades, just the sum total of your coins and where are they invested on currently etc.
7125  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Incentives for Inflating Cryptocurrency on: November 01, 2019, 05:47:42 PM
Odd, but then again a fix rate of inflation comes with huge risks, and rewards too if certain factors are met. Inflation is always thought of as an incarnate of the devil when we’re talking about economics, while all it does is expand money supply and urge people to spend since there are tons of money lying around. If inflation is controlled and on par with the economic state, it’s progress, and if not, we all know what happens.

It’s an interesting experiment, though I already know what will happen with a fixed and aggressive 7% inflation rate per annum.
7126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is the single most influential person in Bitcoin? on: November 01, 2019, 05:16:52 PM
Andreas Antonopoulos, no doubt. He has been a true bitcoin advocate and has been sharing his knowledge for the longest of time without any hint of personal interest whatsoever for making money. On top of that, he explains bitcoin and economics pretty well without being bias about it. Talk about someone whom you could read books of and listen hours upon hours of podcast and talks regarding bitcoin, politics, economy and society in general, he is your guy.
7127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South Korea discuss the possibility to give crypto a legal status on: November 01, 2019, 04:45:44 PM
Create your own lobbying group as I believe that no governments would ever take online petitions seriously, moreso that it might contain votes and sentiments from outside their jurisdiction. This is bound to happen on most countries as crypto continues to be accepted, recognized and traded on the regular. The best you guys can do is to petition a fair and just taxation laws and accept it. Nothing has been finalized yet. You still have the luxury of time to get working group and express your side to the SoKor government.
7128  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitmex snet an email with CC to own customers. Hundreds emails exposed. on: November 01, 2019, 04:26:47 PM
Whoever organizes their email system must be held accountable for this. The easiest thing to avoid being a target of phishing and/or other attacks due to this mismanagement is to simply change your email and hope that they will not do the same mistake again. It seems as though they have been compromised somewhat but that in itself is not an excuse that customers should accept.

Change your emails ASAP in order to not receive weird emails targeting your funds.
7129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: KSI vs Logan 2 on: November 01, 2019, 04:05:13 PM
Sportsbet.io has this, though the odds are somewhat questionable knowing that KSI is a better fighter all around compared to Logan Paul. With that said, from a gambler’s perspective, a tip would be bet low on KSI or skip the whole joke match. It might result to another draw between the two as this would definitely be just for the views yet again and not true boxing in its core.
7130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: See a bitcoin/crypto scam site? Don't just ignore it. Report it. on: November 01, 2019, 03:36:54 PM
Better still, especially with those sites that actually are registered companies, and are selling misleading services and products... Or outright just doing shady scammy stuff, report them to the consumer and business bureaus in their jurisdictions. Use your rights and don't let them get away with taking your money. Might not save you but will save others.

On mobile now but can think of at least the better business bureau in the US.

There are some companies that do shady business deals and other stuff that still go unnoticed just because they’re a big company or people just tend to believe they’re honest about everything they do. There are also sites that are legitimate on the surface but often ends up being scam sites due to a multitude of wrongdoings unbeknownst to the regular user. Even a simple false advertisement would tick off the scam-meter for me and would be worthy of a report to our local trade bureau so as not to prolong its exposure to the consumers.
7131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You don't want Bitcoin, You don't want Future :-\ on: November 01, 2019, 03:05:46 PM
I’m a huge bitcoin believer but I don’t exclusively believe that bitcoin alone would be the future of this world, though it may have sparked the change and the revolution already that’s for sure. Lots of potential game changers and important names in the industry have already been making moves, thanks to bitcoin inspiring them to do so. You pretty much outlined what bitcoin needs in order to survive but then again, bitcoin may only be the inspiration and not the way forward in the future but that doesn’t mean we don’t want a better future to come.
7132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is difficult to accept in countries on: October 31, 2019, 06:55:55 PM
Most countries rejecting bitcoin still haven’t find a way to get those juicy taxes off of bitcoin-related gains and make it seem like it’s justified. They will, in the future, surely accept bitcoin when most countries did, and have come up with a rather logical way of taxing people again without the concerned party resisting too much. That’s the only side I could view this issue on, or that they are brewing their own crypto to push to their citizens for an even greater amount of control to their financial activities and whatnot.
7133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Donating the Gambling profits on: October 31, 2019, 06:25:33 PM
Unless I’m a gambling virtuoso who earns millions a month then no, I wouldn’t donate my whole earnings. I might donate a couple hundred dollars to the needy but let’s be real here, gambling profits would likely go into booze, leisure things or even back to the gambling house again, but never directed to charitable institutions and the likes. Sure there are gambling events that donate most of the earnings on charities but for the laymen, the common degenerate gamblers, this wouldn’t happen.
7134  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to avoid BTC related scam/fraud when selling thru PayPal on: October 31, 2019, 06:01:07 PM
Traded tons of times in Localbitcoins and the only thing I can say is that always go for the most trusted, most reviewed and most accountable profile in the platform. I’m not saying that the rest of the traders are there to scam you but oftentimes those who are on the top of the platform are the ones who developed their names over time and are afraid to lose it just for a few hundred bucks.
7135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What scares you the most? on: October 31, 2019, 04:43:50 PM
The third world war and the destruction of life as we know it. Well it might not be happening like we envision it but once it happens, even bitcoin will cease to exist if the mad lads of that holds the world’s sickest keys and switches were to turn it on. I’m fine with losing my coins in the stupidest manner, but I’ll never be okay knowing that every other coin with mine, together with countless of lives are lost forever.

With the plethora of artificially-made economic problems and the battle for economic supremacy, it’s without a doubt that similar events of the Cold War is to happen. And if that escalates, well, not only bitcoin will be gone forever but also us, potentially.
7136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Top 5 Movies Predicted to Win 2020 Oscar for Best Picture on: October 31, 2019, 03:41:24 PM
I'm in for the Irishman, but Joker surely has the abilities to take that best picture award. The Irishman's cinematography on Martin Scorsese's hands and De Niro, Pacino and Pesci's acting skills somewhat made the 3-hour running time of the film relatively shorter since you'll really enjoy it. The Joker, however, tackles a bit more of what our society has become, and my god the color grading of the film is superb and cinematography is great! I haven't watched the other three on the poll though I'm biased for the Irishman the most, and I think the critics and I share the same opinion.
7137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Moving on to Other Things on: October 31, 2019, 02:49:48 PM
What do you think these other things could be?

I generally assume he was moving on to battle an illness, and that he lost the battle and died.

LOL how you assume that he died.

We need to look the value and make the money with that if Satoshi comes to live we may expect good price growth considering this as positive move for crypto field. We wish to have the official announcement of Satoshi soon among us.

Danny has always been firm to his belief that Satoshi had already died prior to the 2013 ATH, and has not changed his stance since. I do also believe that the reason for him stepping down for good is to tackle personal matters involving himself and no one else. Idk why but I always get this feeling that the man behind Satoshi is no other than Hal Finney himself, though many others can say otherwise. Being there since the genesis block, up to the point where everything is working as smoothly as possible and claiming that "Satoshi might be my next-door neighbor" is like trying to tell us something that we just ignored.

Anyhow, I do believe that whatever Satoshi did to bitcoin and the world would forever be remembered, with or without him needing to come back.
7138  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: after 2+ years blockchain.com explorer finally supports bech32 addresses! on: October 31, 2019, 02:27:25 PM
Damnit we're a few months off 2020 and here's Blockchain.com still using P2PKH addresses like they've been stuck in 2009.

Makes me think that blockchain.com is that old dude still using passbook and travelling a few kilometers just to deposit a sum of a few dollars all the while everyone are into digital banking. At the least, they're one of the longest-standing web wallet that happens to still work despite the flaws and issues on their site. As an explorer though, there are already a bunch of good alternatives such as blockchair, blocktrail and the likes.

Anyway, still congratulations to the team of blockchain.com for realizing that they have to do something after 2 years! Grin
7139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: majority of blockchain project has lost focus on: October 31, 2019, 02:03:13 PM
The focus is there, it's just not the right one to attain development and to move further in technological aspects. Profit is the main driver as to why people are still creating projects that are literally just a copy of previous ones, with just a different name, different hard cap limit and different block time or any of those little things that only require little effort to say that the project was a completely different one. I'd not wait for future potential ETH, DASH, XMR or any other else but instead just focus on the developments of what currently is offering the most in the table.
7140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you involved with Crypto? on: October 30, 2019, 05:34:56 PM
Knowing that I have some background in computer science and a little bit about cryptography, I was mainly interested in the tech and not actually the profit that accompanies it, though it has also become my main point of interest after such time that it has net me good gains in a short span of time. I’m mainly staying currently for the tech and less of the profits now knowing that I have set up a good stash and a business due to bitcoin gains.
