7121  Other / Archival / Re: Will we break the key support at $30 800 or not? on: July 18, 2021, 09:30:04 AM
Strange, today bitcoin price is supposed to dump because of biggest grayscale bitcoin unlock will happen on today. They will unlock almost 17,000 Bitcoin today. But i don't see any dump of bitcoin until this hour, it was even got pump to above $32,000

Strange and yet not unexpected. Bad news doesn't seem to affect Bitcoin markets as much as they should when they have been anticipated. Same as good news. Remember all those Bitcoin ETFs that eventually happened? Probably all priced in by now and if so, then if this is the worst this item of news could do, bulls must be happy.

Of course, we have an entire week to see this out.

Checking in late to say thanks again for that 1x2 tourney, Tornike, you guys do quite a nice Jackmate every season, and I think this was a lot less buggy than the Champions League one (at least for me, everything including the leaderboard worked well) so well done on that.

As I mentioned earlier, it would be nice to tweak the points system in 1x2 and even use an odds-based points to reward those who pick the unlikelier score (enter your picks, and if they win, they win at the odds they were at the time). Or to put a 1x2 plus scoreline, and then credit the scoreline outcomes together with 1x2 to give more points to those who also get the score right, also weighed with odds markets? =)

See you all again next season (which is soon!).
7123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Omg they really DID THIS??? (!NOT CLICKBAIT) on: July 17, 2021, 07:54:51 PM
Title was 4/10 sorry man, I clicked because I saw it was you creating the thread;)

Gotta say I've seen a lot more crap going on using Bitcoin instead though (but the scam usually involves telling people they're getting Bitcoin on their behalf but they're actually getting fake accounts with virtual numbers, easy to trick as most people don't usually know how it works).

No disrespect to people on social media but you get what you get, and you deserve it all, I guess. Not that I'm saying I'm immune to scammery and hoodwinkery, I still occasionally get tricked by people who promise to pay the BTC later, and then I give up after one invoice chasing reminder -- but that's always been true for a freelancer who doesn't charge upfront;)
7124  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is bitcoin plunging? What is the reason for this? on: July 17, 2021, 07:14:36 PM
Yes  Possibilities that Miners had already pulled out the operation but surely they are no starting to find migration , Miners will not stop mining just because of the regulation as they are free to transfer their mining in countries that they are most welcome.

Not possibilities, it's happened and with more en route in countries all over the world. The clue should have been in all the media coverage of the move actually. Happy people packing things up in a nice way, and very organised and orderly. This wasn't a panic mass exodus with China setting out the dogs to chase miners out. It was simply a state decision (which they'll come to regret).
7125  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: I made a site that lets you share your story & inspire other blockchain actors on: July 17, 2021, 04:16:50 PM
Agree that the "defi" tag (whatever it may mean to anyone, I can safely say that the vast majority of projects tagging themselves with that label aren't actually close to being "decentralised" and would probably fail a stern test of "defi-ness") actually prevents you from digging into what may be very good stories waiting to be uncovered.

P.S. Anyone remember "Humans of ToR" or something like that?
7126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +64894 units on: July 17, 2021, 02:48:52 PM
Tsk! A 1-1 draw as it happened, very few shots and corners but we lost our bet. And because Midtylland also lost, we confirm the loss of our earlier insured bet, so whammy. Our healthy profit stats are being eaten up, but with about a month left to Community Shield in England, which kicks off the new season for this thread, I'm happy we will likely end up with over 10,000 units.

Today's a simple Brasilerio and a friendly with our friends at Club Brugge (go Mignolet!).

100 units at Sportsbet on Ceara, Sao Paoloa and Brugge to WIN @10.00. Other odds: 9.30
Units advantage: 70

Running advantage after 412 bets: +27,432 (+70)
All-time cumulative: +65,830
Running units after 411 bets (63W|348L): +12,178 (-200)
7127  Bitcoin / Press / [2021-07-16] Police confiscate, destroy 1000+ ASICs in Malaysia on: July 17, 2021, 01:34:12 PM
So 3 days ago, they raided a house and confiscated about 100 ASICs: Source: https://www.newsarawaktribune.com.my/police-find-bitcoin-mining-operations-in-house/

Apparently, police were led to many more earlier, in just one city, and two months' worth of raids led to this steamrolling event that video went viral yesterday. 1069 machines. A weird number. Mainly s3 I think? Now if they just put them to good use instead, tsk!

Can't find a useful way to share local news, but that's as far as it gets for now. Think the crypto media will get hold of it later.

Note: the crime was simply electricity theft, not mining itself.
7128  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: UK FCA Regulation on: July 17, 2021, 01:08:36 PM
anyone who touches this should be prepared to lose all their money.

As jackg says, that's the same principle and expectation you would apply to any form of investment (talking about Bitcoin/crypto as investment, anyway). It's the FCA, and like any financial watchdog in any country, they're obliged to warn citizens of the risks of investing. Note that this isn't in any way a threat against these activities, merely a disclaimer against any responsibility. What's poor of them is that they've only extended this warning to crypto, when they should really be preventing people from losing their money in scandalous stocks and options etc.

7129  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sportsbet.io - Main sponsor of Southampton FC on: July 17, 2021, 12:07:47 PM
Don't think there's any secret to the Brazil wins. Just that Sportsbet has got a lot of love from Brazil (Flamengo and Sao Paolo, so why not) and when you're from there you obviously know a lot more than we do -- plus I'm sure they try a LOT.

Keep an eye on the massive boosts on all the winning bets posted too! I love doing 5/6 leg accas just to get the boosts, which already puts you up 10% or more on any other site. Haven't had the balls to put max 10-leg accas but the 100% boost is hefty!
7130  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-07-15] Fed Chairman Says U.S. Might Need More Crypto Regulation. Here’s Wh on: July 17, 2021, 10:49:28 AM
Might need? I think once US started down that path, there was always going to be little space to turn back. But that's not necessarily a bad thing, given that there are many more options today in the US for the retail consumer to get their hands on and hold Bitcoin without wondering if it's legal or not (it's regulated so it is).

Not that I'd want to be a US citizen holding any kind of crypto, but it might even encourage competition between states there when attracting crypto business (it already does).

Interesting to see Verstappen getting this much attention, there is about 50-60 thousand dollars worth of bets so far and majority thinks that Max will win. Now I know you may think "why would it be interesting when Max won so much while Hamilton kept losing this year? But this is silverstone, this is british grand prix, this is literally home of Hamilton who basically wins almost every time, last year this dude won this grand prix with one tire gone, he was so much ahead that even without having one tire he still managed to win.

Just checked the odds for Hamilton on this site and that should have been great value as it was closer to 3/1 yesterday at least but it's still higher than anywhere else right now (235/100) while other sites are just above 2/1 -- not sure the time multiplier here would have been worth it getting in early but yes, nice to see Verstappen getting a lot of love but -- Bottas, what do you think? It's only 5/1 here but 11/1 elsewhere

7132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin’s Bull Market: A Long Road Ahead on: July 17, 2021, 08:44:24 AM
I hope with you all guys saying is happen soon cause i dont want bitcoin touch below 30K again  Grin its enough to see my spot portofolio is red

Noone here wants that, but if it happens, just make sure you're ready to take advantage. If you're already into DCA, then it's always a minor boost for much later down the line. Just think about it this way: every bit of coin you get at 30k is going to be worth more than twice as much when it eventually does return to the current ATH. And more on the next ATH and so on.

Fun days for the holders, if they can swallow some of the wait.
7133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 17, 2021, 07:18:51 AM
Djokovic confirmed Olympics now so at least we have something special to look at for in Olympics without Nadal or Federer. Tokyo with no fans though, a bit sad.

Tsitsipas is a player for big tournaments, better to skip him on smaller ones. He knows he is good and it is difficult for him to give 100 % against weaker opponents. Same as Kyrgios while he was still somewhat serious about tennis or Wawrinka. Never bet on those guys in early stages.

All lessons I should have learned by now, but I was counting on him to be making another final actually, guess I should stop trying to second-guess the mental state of people!

No serbian final the end. Lajovic dropped the first set and ended up losing the entire match. But we are having an intresting match between Djere and Krajinovic a serbian semi final. I dont know why you putted Tsitsipas the odd was really low 1.13 i think. That isnt really boosting much off an odd. Also i think Krajinovic will win the tournament

It was for a 2:0 win. I hardly ever do 1.3 or lower, unless it's my own team I'm betting on anyway and above 10/1, 1.3 is not a bad boost.

And yeah, no final, I haven't had a good betting record at last two ATPs now. Zero wins (all accas).
7134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 16, 2021, 03:26:01 PM
Damn you Tsitsipas. Kill me every time I put you on an acca, and you just don't know how to kill it. I think this guy really needs a mental coach to get past the trauma of losing that FO final. I know everyone's got a rough patch but two exits in succession, not looking good.

All-Serbian final setting up then hum?
7135  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Security risk on: July 16, 2021, 10:43:36 AM
It's really simple. Most banks anywhere in the world, if it's recognised by the central bank, give you deposit guarantee. And these banks are also insured, or guaranteed by the state. So except in the worst-case scenarios like total money devaluation or economic collapse, yeah, your money's safer in a bank account than it is on a crypto exchange.

How do you imagine a bank being hacked by a bunch of hackers and they move the money from one bank account into another bank account? Grin Bank transfers are transparent and reversible.

If you're the bank, you set the terms. How do you think banks hide and obfusctae the money trails when you can edit, remove, even add entries into accounting? Bank transfers are or can be transparent, but in practice, that's anything but the level of detail that's displayable. Change that detail or remove it, or obscure it.

Ask any bank now to show proof of funds. They won't, because they can't.
7136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa Conference League Discussion Thread on: July 16, 2021, 08:31:34 AM
Tre Penne lost with 3:0, so that could be counted as good game for them Smiley
Sarajevo is out, they had easy home match with Moldavians, and after conceiving fast goal they did not had courage to come back

nevertheless, first round is finished, and there will more interesting matches from this point, with higher level clubs joining

Indeed! Markets weren't available or I'd have taken a HT handicap, which was 10/1, and they did actually end the HT "only" 0-1 down! Really have to find more of these markets during the early rounds. Polish teams have done well so far, as did 2 of 3 Irish teams. Armenia not so much, except that famous Ararat win. Not a bad league after all eh?
7137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +64894 units on: July 16, 2021, 06:32:58 AM
Fognini fell at his hurdle so I didn't even need to bother looking at the rest. Very disappointing ATP outings. We wait for Midtylland to play today to see if we get the outcome of the last insured bet we have, but in Angola we have two teams with poor form, but winning their last games, I'm backing the underdog.

100 units at Sportsbet on Libolo to WIN vs Primeiro Agostos @8.60. Other odds: 8.50
Units advantage: 10

Running advantage after 411 bets: +27,362 (+10)
All-time cumulative: +65,760
Running units after 410 bets (63W|347L): +12,378 (-100)
7138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa Conference League Discussion Thread on: July 15, 2021, 04:21:15 PM
What odds for Ararat win was? I think this result is quite big surprise.

Was 5/1 but went down below as the match approached. Even managed to double the lead towards the end. If Noah complete it too (12/1), I'll be ecstatic. But they're already down a goal heh heh.

Good picks for you, they all ML bets? I actually bet on Europa last season when they were in Europa League but the best they did were draw, so perhaps the wise bet for them is handicaps since they don't seem to want to win either. Huge, huge underdogs!

Tre Penne is at 50/1 haha, was even 60 at one point but I don't mind taking them even against my own favourite. Go San Marino =D
7139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: July 15, 2021, 03:14:29 PM
Who took Conference League specials today? Dinamo Batumi, Klaksvik, Larne, Breidablik & Slask Wroclaw all to WIN at 14/1. Should be pretty heh. There was another special 40/1 but it's BTTS and wins, so we're hoping for 3 goals min in all those 3 Irish minnow games, haha, total idiots bet but I took it anyway. But hey, luck of the Irish, right?

I decided to play one of my freebets won on a lot of American event favs too, tagging Liverpool's opening match next month as the final leg. Whee!

P.S. I lived without mobile until 2010 too, when work forced me too, for security, although I was on radio for many years before that. First smart phone was also in 2013, and also because enforced, but I chucked it out for three years after, and then back on it in 2016 -- remote working was impossible not to have it. I could cheat and use everything now on laptop (which more or less is what happens) but I do like bitcointalk from mobile (I do long commutes daily).
7140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin completes value transmission, how to perfectly avoid criminal ? on: July 15, 2021, 02:14:21 PM
I don't think it's Bitcoin's job to avoid crime. Crime chooses, and I would have hoped Silk Road taught the lesson that it really is a poor choice to be used for criminal purposes. Can we stop feeding something that has repeatedly been proven wrong already?

P.S. Hackers aren't interested only in Bitcoin trading platforms, they're interested in easy backdoors, lazy admins, careless managers and generally, just poor security practices. And I think you used white hat wrong?
