Maieuticoin 1.0.3

Many changes in this client; too many, in fact, to list in separate lines. We basically took another coin, adapted everything into Maieuticoin, then did some GUI upgrades of our own. You will require reindexing the first time you open this client. This will automatically begin when it is run for the first time. Do not be alarmed. Your balance will change during reindexing, and may start at 0. It will return to where it is supposed to be by the time the reindexing has completed. Reindexing could be slow, but it is worth it to ensure that all blocks are valid

  • Coin control has been added
  • Graph added to QT Interface
  • Many performance enhancements
  • Smoother transition through old blocks
  • Network data handled more efficiently

Are all pos coins an option for this device?

There is a one time fee for the dev team or community to be added as an option forever
7143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Maieuticoin [M] | The Maieutice Snowball Staking HARDWARE on: October 25, 2014, 06:09:33 PM
mmxivcoin.com will be down from Sunday until Tuesday at the latest while we do some overdue maintenance in preparation for Week 1. When it comes back up, it will have updated links for new clients, as well as more information on the next step in Snowball pre-orders

7145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The Snowball | Game Changing Hardware on: October 25, 2014, 05:53:30 PM
With regards to overall progress with the Snowball. We are actually a day ahead of schedule right now and will have some pictures coming later today of the final test version of retail Snowballs, as well as proof that they run, stake, and are actual, real products that exist

With that said, we have sold out of Week 0 pre-orders. Week 1 will be opened fairly soon. Thanks for everyone who participated so far or is just watching to see what happens
7146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The Snowball | Game Changing Hardware on: October 25, 2014, 05:53:22 PM
Add NOBL & Diamond please

The price for the first 3 coins is .5 BTC each. After that it will be 1 BTC forever to have a coin added to list to be loaded up at checkout. We will only accept M as payment, regardless of which coin the buyer chooses to use their Snowball to stake with. We will be more than happy to add any coins that would like to pay the fee, as well as providing proof that it is working, prior to payment
7147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Snowball | Pre-Orders for Week 0 | Maieuticoin Payments | Introductory Price on: October 25, 2014, 05:50:26 PM
Week 0 has ended early. All units have been sold. Thanks for participating. For more information, visit this update post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=623884.msg9327636#msg9327636

New Maieuticoin client will be released shortly. This is a huge update, but it is not mandatory. I'll post more information when I post the link, but I highly suggest updating to the new client today

Again...not a fork, this is purely an optional upgrade to add new features, increase performance, and give a nice aesthetic upgrade to the GUI

....

I do know it, it just didnt seem like that was full disclosure thats all.

Seems like super-full disclosure to me. Better than nearly all other coins.

IMO this is the way forward for crypto now. Non-anon.

Proof of dev., facility for disclosure of large holders etc..  After all, this is the way things operate in the real democratic world.

Lol please. Proof of dev is a fuckin joke. Neither one would verify ME, one of the least anon people here

They're both bullshit lol

7151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The Maieutice Snowball | Game Changing Hardware on: October 25, 2014, 12:54:20 AM
For those that are worried that their private keys would be at risk of being copied.  The unit will ship with keys installed that hold a balance.  You will need to enter in your private keys via the web ui.  The web ui is also where you will have full access to the wallet, as your normally would in a QT wallet.

Can you explain what you mean here?

"Keys installed that hold a balance"?  What balance?  And why are keys installed?

"need to enter in your private keys via the web ui"?  Do folks generate their own private keys elsewhere or use the keys that are already "installed"?

When snowball is shipped it will not have a wallet.dat file.  It will be created when it starts after first powerup.  So any keys that are "installed" will be brand new keys that the daemon had just generated (thus they will not have a balance).  To add funds to your Snowball you can do it one of two ways.  1) Transfer the funds from your existing wallet to the newlly created addresses in Snowaall, paying the required tx fee, or 2) Import your private key(s) from your existing wallet to Snowball, avoiding having to pay any tx fee, and will now have your funds in two wallets (your orig wallet and Snowball).

Thanks, that's what I had expected all along, and was confused briefly from your post.

Is there an option to buy a Round 0 box with BTC?

BTC is Weeks 1-5. Week 0 and Retail are M only. Week 1 will be the cheapest and it will slowly slide up to retail price

Why don't you just release CarpetCleanerCoin and be done with it?

Why you gotta hate on the working man? I know a lot of people that steam clean like we did and make a lot of money. Even though the truck does most of the work, it's still not easy to do physically

Besides, I owned the company, I didn't actually scrub rugs
7153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The Snowball | Game Changing Hardware on: October 24, 2014, 08:06:46 PM
We have explored options with scripting for users to self-compile after ordering, but there are just too many issues that could come up with any small updates we push out. Shipping with no wallet.dat is the safest way for the buyer, and the most reliable way for us to ensure everyone gets the same product

Should there be a future hard fork, we will make it incredibly easy to update your hardware. However, we do not anticipate the need to change anything with Maieuticoin

@rugrats.. Thanks Smiley
I see about IconicExpert then.. i have had nothing at all to do with DarkCoin so that explains why he is a huge nobody to me.
I take it then he is Wolong of Doge / Pandacoin infamy just on another coin.
And on the scene the user had done fuck all then basically.. showed up tried to pump a coin then left in shame.. so...

Many of us know Fontas.. and i considered him a couple times but was he really much into Altcoins and when late 2012 ? LOL

and thanks for the vote hhaha

Spoetnik, Wolong is a pimply boy who rode on the coattails of the Dogecoin Olympic bobsled promo and claimed credit for the resulting price spike. After proclaiming himself as some sort of a crypto savant, he released a badly-written trading ebook (it's only several pages - enovellette?) that some developers here, shockingly, took as gospel.
I remember the Uro dev reverently talking about the ebook in one of his hangouts. The phrase "weak hands" that is used by many wannabe-traders originated from that ebook.

Wolong was courted by several devs thereafter, but he joined forces with the UNO dev (not Uro) to release Panda after being promised a lucrative cut, including custody of a huge stash of premine and IPO proceeds. After telling everyone to hold, Wolong preceded to sell off the entire stash and crash the market to a few satoshis. He then accused everyone and everything including the kitchen sink of starting the sell off and rode of with a couple hundred BTCs in his pocket. I still don't know though if the UNO dev was part of the scam, or just another victim. Last I heard, a couple of Panda investors actually managed to track Wolong down via hardwarezone.com.sg and received a settlement. Can't confirm it though.

Despite this, people are still clamoring to work with Wolong. Hi-5 coin, anyone?

Re Fontas: He also works with Wolong. He and Molly suffered huge losses in the Panda scam, but I think Wolong covered his losses at least.

I agree, Tranz is a top developer for sure, and very devoted.

How is iGotSpots so "crypto-fabulous" if you don't mind me asking?  I am not all that familiar with a lot of people here on bitcointalk.

iGotSpots was diagnosed with crypto-finger, a dangerous condition caused mainly by releasing too many coins into the crypto wildlands of Cryptsy.
Doctors have pleaded for him to stop releasing new coins.
But like a crack addict, iGotSpots can't help it; he haz to release a newz coinz every so often.

How many coins do you think I actually released...? Posting in the thread or helping them when they needed it don't count

As of now, I see five of your coins listed at Cryptsy. There's a couple more that I am unsure of (just second-hand IRC info, so I can't verify if they are indeed yours).
The five though, it's yours. Would you like me to PM you the coin names?
I don't intend to drag the coins' names out in the open without cause, because you've never been a pump & dumper, so I have no reason to FUD over them, without cause.

Yes. You've peaked my interest, but I don't think your list will be accurate

3/5 of his guesses were correct

I only have 3 on Cryptsy. Maieuticoin isn't even on there yet

Please don't say you created Dogecoin or Flappycoin.....

On a side note, what kind of stuff are you most proficient in when working with sourcecode, how good are you when working with fees and block signing?

I don't do gimmicky. Every project I launch has a point. Some are successful, some are not

Anything I can't personally do has someone in my rolodex that can. Fees are pretty straightforward unless you try to get fancy

I think my wallet is possessed.   The Balance is changing and not correct.  Never shows staking, even though it is.  Sometimes shows coins under the stake field in the overview panel.   I'm not worried about it, it always shows back up.  I have a feeling that one coin is being held for a stake but just not reported.  This isn't just a one off occurrence, I've seen the incorrect balance several times.  Usually I'll see something in the stake field.  But every so often that field  is zero and the balance is off by around 1 coin.

Strange.  Anyone else seeing this?  Anyone else staking on there own?

Check getinfo in debug. Does it match the Overview tab?

I'm finally seeing the staking light do-hicky on the bottom.  Had it fail again.  getinfo shows the correct info, I was staking some coin, but it's not showing on the main wallet screen.  That is just showing my balance decreased by the staking coin, but zeros for stake.   I have a screen print of the display, along with the getinfo, but I have no idea how to connect it to this post.   Huh

Close and open client
