From what I can see, Cash App has three different withdrawal speeds. That means they don't allow you to enter your own fees. For a more experienced user, that's a bad thing, but since you are just starting out, I guess it's ok. Cash App will charge a margin when you buy or sell.

If you are withdrawing using the standard withdrawal speed, you are required to withdraw at least 0.001 BTC, but you wont be charged any withdrawal fees. That's about $60 right now. For faster withdrawals, there are no withdrawal minimums, but you will charged a withdrawal fee depending on market congestion.

7163  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trying to get my profit out of trading on: November 04, 2021, 04:21:57 PM
I have never used the particular platform for anything, but a quick Google found this source that explains the deposit and withdrawal process:
https://www.fpmarkets.com/withdrawing-money-from-mt5-account/

Your question could be a bit more specific. Like, are you getting a certain error when you are trying to withdraw or can't you find the appropriate withdraw button. If the source from above is correct, you should be able to withdraw by clicking on File > Withdraw.
7164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul on: November 04, 2021, 12:46:56 PM
I am not familiar with Tommy Fury's record or past achievements, but this social media boxer is really pissing me off. There was plenty of talk about a contract condition that prevented Tyron Woodley from knocking the YouTube boxer out. Although his manager denies it, I don't believe there was none. I never saw Woodley talk about it. So whatever the truth is, we will never know. The Youtuber probably made him sign a non-disclosure agreement, so he can't comment on the speculations. But hopefully Jake pisses himself in the ring.
7165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Not your vault, not your money. Why some nation-states will HODL Bitcoin. on: November 04, 2021, 10:30:49 AM
Reports showed that United States army left talibans billions of dollars worth military and other equipment, over 200 aircrafts, 45 helicopters, over 75,000 vehicles, drones, rifles, bombs and who knows what else.
That is more than many countries have combined, and list is much longer, that makes you wonder why they really did such thing and not destroying it if they couldn't bring it back.
I remember reading about them destroying most of it, but not everything got wrecked.

You can check out these two sources that talk about it:
https://www.aljazeera.com/program/newsfeed/2021/9/8/taliban-disappointed-by-destroyed-equipment-left-by-us-forces
https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2021/08/30/what-military-equipment-left-behind-afghanistan-us/5658895001/

They even made a video where they are destroying vehicles, lol.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giY2lAsP3jA

The source mentions that some equipment was blown up and set on fire.
The aircrafts were also destroyed:
Quote
“Those aircraft will never fly again,”
https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2021/08/30/what-military-equipment-left-behind-afghanistan-us/5658895001/

They did leave behind counter-rocket and artillery systems and the explanation about why they did that makes sense. Those defensive systems were operational and used to protect their own troops from attacks. Hence, they couldn't be dismantled or destroyed because it would leave the Americans without a shield.

Quote
McKenzie didn’t specify how many such units, which at $10 million apiece detect and shoot down incoming rockets and artillery and mortar rounds, were left behind. But he did say they were kept until the end to ensure that the Kabul airfield was defended from rocket attacks such as the one launched Monday.

7166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Necessary reminder: watch out for $5 wrench attacks on: November 04, 2021, 09:58:10 AM
The news article doesn't mention that he got robbed for bragging about his wealth. He might have been targeted because people knew who he was. A successful entrepreneur who created his own company and sold it to a telecommunications giant. That sort of news goes around.

There is a politician in my neighborhood. He lives alone because his family lives in a different town. He is here because of work. He is also an expert in economics and looks wealthy by the way he dresses, the car he drives, etc.
Another neighbor owns an insurance company, a hotel, and a restaurant. I have never spoken with either of them, but I still know who they are. Now imagine what one might find out if they were interested in snooping around and visiting them with a mask over the face?!

What worries me in this article is the way they explain how he was storing his coins. Maybe they don't have all the details and don't know much about crypto. Nevertheless, it is mentioned that he was forced to reveal the password to his "online account."

Quote
Dentzel was allegedly sprayed in the eyes and tazed while the assailants stole his belongings and forced him to reveal the password to an online account that contained his Bitcoin fortune, based on what he told investigators afterward.
https://www.newsweek.com/bitcoin-millionaire-zaryn-dentzel-beaten-fortune-stolen-masked-robbery-cryptocurrency-1645550

Maybe an exchange or a web wallet. A man of his status should know better about protecting his assets.
7167  Other / Meta / Re: LETTER OF APPEAL FOR PERMANENT BAN LIFT on: November 04, 2021, 09:31:42 AM
The main idea is whenever a ban is placed it must follows a cogent reason to back it up,
It mustn't, but I agree that it should show the user the exact reason why he/she got banned. That would reduce the number of threads being created for the sole reason of asking why. All the ban message says is that plagiarism or spam are the most common reasons.

i dont plagiarize and if possibly any reason could have lead to the ban then it could have been temporary ban instead of permanent ban
It's been discussed many times in the past, but the fact remains that if users are find plagiarizing, most of them get permanently banned. Some are pardoned after an appeal, but many aren't.

In this my own case, the reason for the ban remains unclear.
You will have to wait for some input from a mod. I have seen that hilariousandco sometimes explains his decisions if he is the one that issued the ban. mprep is also willing to discuss his view of the rules from time to time.
7168  Other / Meta / Re: LETTER OF APPEAL FOR PERMANENT BAN LIFT on: November 04, 2021, 09:08:41 AM
...either it can still be used or it's time to start again at bitcointalk.org...
If one of your accounts gets banned, they will all get banned if discovered. On Bitcointalk, they don't ban the account, they ban the person behind the account making the posts. So if you get banned and you come back to start over, that new account of yours will also get banned once a connection has been proven. It's called ban evasion and is against the rules. If you get banned, all you an do is create an alt account to appeal the ban.
7169  Other / Meta / Re: LETTER OF APPEAL FOR PERMANENT BAN LIFT on: November 04, 2021, 08:31:44 AM
news about being banned for an account is quite rare in my ears..
Users are getting banned on Bitcointalk on a daily basis.

have you checked in your country's sub forum?
Information from local forums isn't going to help OP. His account got banned and the right way of asking a pardon or finding out why is to post in Meta or contact a mod/admin. What knowledge would users of his local board have that could help him?

have you ever followed a bounty??
People don't get banned for participating or organizing bounty campaigns unless said campaigns break one or more of the unofficial rules.

try to learn how to sign address. or anything that helps with account recovery efforts..
He doesn't need to that. He didn't lose access to the account and it wasn't hacked. It was banned. Signed messages help when you are trying to prove that an account ownership.

i am already looking forward to the round #5 Cool
I am sure you are (you resourceful bastard.) Grin

Fun fact:

There are 648774 possible word combinations for  _ o _ s _ _ _ _ _   _ _ _ _ r _ _ _ _ using the Python Natural Language Toolkit's standard english word corpus.    As a joke I was going to post them but think people might... consider that to be spam.
It would really look bad and take up a lot of space on the thread. I would probably delete it. But if you could post a link to an outside source showing the combinations, that would be fine.

your answer should be for me  Cry  so I can get merit 1 decodx wkwkwk  Grin

Dobio sam: Val-Zod, Superman - Rare

drugi NFT

Harley Quinn - rare

7172  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best Site for Gambling? on: November 03, 2021, 01:09:36 PM
are there any gamblers who play high limits and always manage to withdraw their winnings from betting crypto sites?
You will have to be more precise than that. What do you consider high-limits or being a highroller? Each person could be thinking about different numbers in their head.

I have never had issues withdrawing from either FortuneJack or Sportsbet.io, and Betja not that long ago. But I don't consider myself being a highroller. If you bet thousands or hundred thousands dollars, there is always the possibility that the casino might want to find out who you are and who they are dealing with. I think that's normal.
7173  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Air Gapped on Windows or Tails? on: November 03, 2021, 12:58:37 PM
Because there is no computer system in the world which is 100% safe from attack or bugs or vulnerability, and every additional piece of software present is a potential attack surface.
OK, fair point.

If someone gains physical access to my airgapped Linux computer which is encrypted at rest, then I'm fairly confident they would find it impossible to extract any meaningful data from it. If someone gained access to an airgapped computer with Windows 10 on it, then I have no idea what kind of bugs and vulnerabilities they could exploit.
Why did you compare an encrypted Linux OS with a Windows 10 machine without encryption? Or maybe you meant to say a Windows 10 PC with an encrypted disk. Do you have reasons to believe that a full disk encryption by the same encryption software used on a Win 10 is easier to circumvent (due to all previously mentioned software and bloatware) compared to one done on a Linux OS? If not, your first line of defense, (the encryption software) seems equally strong/weak on both OSs.

It depends who that someone is. A regular thief looking for something valuable to steal and sell. You should be protected against those.
A well-prepared and determined robber who knows why he is targeting you and what you may have on that computer. Now it's a bit tricky. You could reject his demands, but there are also two knee caps and your family that you need to consider if he knows about them.

If you are targeted by a government agency and tell them no, they will find ways to violate your rights in ways you didn't think were possible in the name of national security.

Regarding the part where you mentioned vulnerabilities in software on Windows. Are there no similar cases to the ones you mentioned on Linux? I don't use Linux, so I really don't know. But the fact that something is open-source doesn't make it safer and more secure. I don't mean Linux, I am talking about any software. Open-source means that you can inspect the code. A codebase that can still suck, be bad, backdoored, and full with bugs that can be easily misused by those who know how to. A badly coded open-source software presents a greater risk than a badly coded close-source software if you think about it. You have open code that is public, compared to hidden code that you don't see.

Every piece of unnecessary software and bloatware is a new risk. If I'm going to the effort of physically removing hardware to create an airgapped device and installing a clean OS, then why would I not pick the OS which is more secure and has fewer vulnerabilities? It's a no brainer.
If you know how to work on Linux or you have the time and patience to learn it, sure, I see no reason to use Windows. The only plus side is its easy of use and greater offer of software.
7174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: PROBLEME BITCOIN CORE on: November 03, 2021, 10:33:40 AM
There is a lot of confusing information that OP has shared here. Bitcoin Core with a seed phrase, email, and account credentials. The language barrier also doesn't help.

@Minibucho
That "seed phrase" that you had, do you remember how it looked like?
Was it one long string with letters and numbers or was it divided into 12/24 parts and made up of real English words?
What letter does it begin with?

Can you tell us the site where you downloaded your wallet software from? Do you remember it, have it saved somewhere?
If you do a Google search on "bitcoin core software" and look at the pictures, is that how your wallet used to look like or was it different?
Can you post a link to a picture from Google of how your wallet looked like in the past?
7175  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Air Gapped on Windows or Tails? on: November 03, 2021, 09:48:10 AM
Not necessarily. Windows has far more vulnerabilities in it than most Linux distros, and also generally comes bundled with so much vaporware/junkware/bloatware like Cortana and Bing embedded in to everything and monitoring your keyboard strokes, remote access tools, and other privacy invading trash.
All true, but what harm can come from it on an 100% airgapped computer that has never been online and has had the hardware to get back online removed? Unless someone finds a way to get hold of your QR codes or the data you share between your offline and online computer with a USB.

Doesn't Windows 10 come with Candy Crush installed on it, for God's sake?
It does for some reason. Candy Crush and a couple of similar trashy games.
7176  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Effects Did the Tether Reserves Breakdown Have on Bitcoin and The Market? on: November 03, 2021, 09:26:18 AM
Biden Administration to Congress: Put Stablecoins Under Federal Supervision – Or We Will
Centralized stablecoins like Tether can already do whatever they want with coins on exchanges or private wallets. Your coins can get frozen no matter where they are. Giving another party (like the US government) the same possibility of making decisions about which coins should get frozen is a potential threat for the future. But we already have decentralized stablecoins like DAI, they can't control those. I hope more people will turn their backs on Tether and pick safer alternatives.

3. consensus algorithm
Yes, that's the correct term.

cygan answered most of it. I wonder how did cygan manage to guess those words.
Maybe he is really good at solving puzzles and riddles, if you can call it that. And it helps if he is familiar with the terminology and have seen the words in various texts. Or he has a huge database of terms and a script/software that can find those that match according to the provided letters. Who knows Tongue

7178  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger nano X discount on: November 02, 2021, 05:02:21 PM
I don't see anything good in their recent amateurish behavior with faulty batteries and bad updates.
What's been happening with the Nano X model is awful. My personal opinion is that it's being done on purpose by a group of dissatisfied or unqualified workers who are assembling the devices. Those battery hardware problems weren't there in the beginning. I think they started appearing after those database leaks. Ledger was probably hit financially as a result of those leaks. With the pandemic and lose of reputation, they aren't generating the profits they did in the previous years. Again this is my opinion. As a consequence, they either had to let some of their people go or lower the wages of those still working on the devices. Like in every company that goes through financial difficulties, it's not going to be the directors who feel it, it will hit those at the bottom working the assembly line.

It is breaking many things if you are using any shitcoins, and I have ledger reddit to confirm that.
That's good. It means Ledger is doing their part in convincing people to not use shitcoins and stick with bitcoin.

Seriously though, I think we have established in the past that Ledger Live and Ledger were never meant to be used as a wallet to store hundreds and even dozens of altcoins and tokens. Many issues occur due to various ERC-20 tokens. For those you have MetaMask, MEW, etc. I can only mention my own experience which involves never keeping more than 4-5 different assets on the device with no serious issues to report. If the problem was that widespread, I seriously doubt that I just got lucky or that God watches over me and protects me from software bugs.
7179  Economy / Services / Re: 5000$ REWARD FOR FINDING OWNER OF BTC ADRESS on: November 02, 2021, 04:39:58 PM
You were asked this before but you never provided an answer. How did you pay this person who was selling you Bitcoin? You said that you two were located in different countries. That means face-to-face meetings can be ruled out. I hope you weren't sending him cash via a 3rd party courier or something like that. Did you use fiat in some form and how? Bank, payment processors such as PayPal, Skrill, gift cards, Western Union. Traditional financial institutions require KYC on their customers. Or was the seller maybe paid with other cryptocurrencies?

I found his number somewhere in the internet but I can't find it again now.
I saw that you posted a phone number in one of your latest posts. Is that the number you were initially looking for? If not and you still have the link to the website it was originally posted on, maybe there is a cached version of it in Google's cache or Achieve.org. Check here and look for it.
7180  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger nano X discount on: November 02, 2021, 12:57:27 PM
I think that Ledger is just a closed source honeypot so purchasing it online almost guarantees that your email, home address and all other private information will be ''leaked'' and exposed in future like it happened before.
I think that's a bit exaggerated. They messed up big time with the database leakages, but they aren't the first nor the last company that will have their site/database hacked. Future events can't be predicted based on what happened in the past. I hope for the sake of everyone that a similar leak won't happen to a different hardware wallet producer. Somehow it seems to have become personal for you. Or maybe that's the feeling I am getting from reading your posts when Ledger is being mentioned. I hope I will never have to find out if you would attack other manufacturers the same way because that would mean another big leak happened somewhere.

Using PO boxes or alternative addresses for delivery might be a better option, or even better is using official local resellers like Pmalek suggested.
It sure is. If you can set something like that up, it's better than delivering valuable items that have to do with crypto and your financials to your doorstep.

Good luck with ledger and be ready for their crappy firmware updates that break more stuff than they fix, especially for X version.
OmegaStarScream is buying a Nano S. I have had the Nano S for years and have never experienced the firmware breaking anything. One upgrade did wipe the device and reset it to factory settings. Each new update takes up more space from the already limited internal memory, but that's the compromise you have to make for buying the cheaper and older version. I still think the Nano S is better than the X model for various reasons: No battery, charging issues, Bluetooth, and the most recent problems with pin connectors or overheating you made the community aware of.
