You can do that ... view your balance ... and cry because YOU CAN NOT SPEND WITHOUT THE PASSWORD.

Deal with the reality.

Is there anyway to get back the bitcoins in a locked wallet if I have the file?

Deal with cryptography.

La météo du Bitcoin : http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-11-27/he-lived-through-hyperinflation-devaluation-and-confiscation-his-advice

Quote
Two months after we wrote this, bitcoin more than doubled to $500 before retracing some of its recent gains, and has resumed its rise again.

Why? This time the answer is Argentina, where as we reported two days ago, the new president admitted that "there are no more dollars in rhe central bank" which means that the days of the country's capital controls are numbered, and because as Citi said president-elect Macri wants to unify the official and parallel exchange rates (~9.60 and 15.50 ARS/USD, respectively) that will entail a substantial devaluation. Just how overvalued is the peso, you ask? "Grossly."

In other words, another major currency collapse is in store for Argentina, its fourth major one in recent decades.

It also means that as yet another country is about to take currency warfare to the next level, bitcoin is posed for another sharp move higher (even as Chinese demand for the fiat alternative continues to grow).

La vidéo de Xapo (le patron) est intéressante (la partie du refus de Paypal à être utilisé en Argentine ... réaction identique en Grèce).

Wait at least until merchants/payment processors dump the Black Friday coin.

Bitcoin merchand use tiers payment processor ... and it dump immediatly to create no gaps between fiat instant value and bitcoin instand value.

You mean losing most of your money is a small price to pay for learning how to lose most of your money?

i don't loose anything ... that the difference between FIAT money and BITCOIN unit.

i know the goal of inflation ... and the loose of value of my FIAT money (in 1 year, 1 USD = 1 EUR ... ?!? What a complet joke and loose of worked hour value !)

but like i already say, you don't see the whole picture of Bitcoin system.

Lessee... You've lost ~2/3 of your money by hodling for two years.
Yup. Money in the bank fared a bit better :-

2 years ? Only ... not a bad thing for a little experience.

you don't see the path ... like me (and the mathematic degression of supply) and the value of this technology to build more trusted economy at local level.
7175  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 27, 2015, 10:45:43 PM
As a HODLER and a believer in the Bitcoin ecosystem...I have continuously bought a couple coins here and there if and only if it brought my average down. This has proven to be a profitable strategy.

+1 ... and it's because Bitcoin contain my Life Economies, too.
so i buy regulary ... or i sell when needed.

i have started in december 2013.

like my old bank account.
but nothing can freeze my money or restrict me to the SAFE BANK limits (cashless society).

7177  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy BTC Now Or Wait Till Exchange Rate Drops In January? on: November 27, 2015, 10:26:50 PM
Nobody really knows what the price will do in the short or long term

and that a good result because ... unpredictable thing ... is only very natural (like storm/ouragan).
i don't want a Bitcoin with "facilitate" manipulation.
