7161  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin cross 3K USD this year? on: September 27, 2019, 10:35:05 AM
$3,000 is not going to happen this year & will probably never be seen again. We’re building up to the halving in May 2020 so the price is likely to slowly increase in the New Year & likely explode upwards in late 2020 - late 2021.
The halving event is scheduled in the middle of 2020 which is why it will probably explode in value during the first half of 2020 itself. On top of this, any more positive news will push it even higher.

It is possible, we have seen the price plummet from $20k-$3k isn't it?
I don't think this will repeat even though it is completely possible since the halving event will urge many holders to HODL their BTC until next year at the very least which will probably push it back close to $11K in the near future.

7162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Expected value in sports betting on: September 27, 2019, 09:27:29 AM
All of these fancy terms usually don't matter much in my opinion since luck is the critical factor in this context. I never care about the EV factor in sports betting since research and luck all that matter to me.

Its simple really. If you manage to have an above average ROI over an extended period of time, you will stand to profit in the long term. This is how so many successful punters succeeded in the long run without focusing too much on the math behind it all.
7163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: September 27, 2019, 07:34:44 AM
How many of you’ll think that Pakistan has paid extra money to Srilanka’s board to convince them to send their team to play?, even though this has been denied by Pakistan but can we believe them?. Now I’m hoping that all goes well and terrorists do not attack Srilankan team again, because if they do that’ll be the end of cricket in Pakistan forever.
Possibly. They might be desperate enough to do something like that. If this tour goes well, more teams could gain confidence and this could be a mutually beneficial move which makes sense in every way.

I will be checking out the scores myself, but I am not really interested in seeing a powerful team like Pakistan play against a B grade Sri lankan team currently.
7164  Economy / Gambling / Re: exbet.io | The Bitcoin Betting Exchange | Closed Beta ANN on: September 27, 2019, 07:22:50 AM
Commission structuring is an interesting question. Some exchanges (Betfair) use a rebate model, while others (Matchbook, Smarkets) use a flat rate. We believe 1% flat rate is both competitive for experienced exchnage users, and simple to understand for people who are new to betting exchanges. But wWe will certainly be listening to sensible feedback like yours on this issue.
Good to know that you guys are listening to community feedback properly. I agree that a 1% flat commission rate would definitely be competitive, but I suggest implementing some kind of VIP tier system in order to make it even more competitive as I suggested earlier.

This would give your exchange an extra bonus point and would definitely draw in more punters. Liquidity is another factor which needs to be addressed to make your exchange more competitive.
7165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: September 26, 2019, 11:20:18 AM
I am genuinely surprised with Sri Lanka agreeing to tour Pakistan and am expecting appropriate security arrangements have been made to tackle the threats.

Pakistan would probably win this series even if the experienced Sri Lankan players were in the team which is why I am expecting Sri Lanka to lose this series, but they will definitely give them a tough fight. It will be interesting to watch how Pakistan perform after their World Cup journey.
7166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CryptoBets on Online Games on: September 26, 2019, 10:12:25 AM
E-sports betting through crypto is quite common these days op and is available on plenty of websites. It all comes down to the margin that the site is taking based on which the odds are decided.

In terms of margin, I suggest Pinnacle(If you are willing to provide KYC documents) since their odds are almost always amazing(Esports, Soccer etc) thanks to the low juice.
https://www.pinnacle.com/en/esports/matchups

If you do not wish to submit KYC, Fairlay is your best bet since they copy Pinnacle odds and only charge 0.25% commission which will drop over time.

7167  Economy / Gambling / Re: exbet.io | The Bitcoin Betting Exchange | Closed Beta ANN on: September 26, 2019, 07:52:34 AM
Awesome. The crypto community need a lot more BTC exchanges since Fairlay is the only legit exchange with decent liquidity at present thanks to BetBtc converting into a sportsbook sometime back.

Suggestions:

-I advise running a BTC signature campaign by hiring a reputed manager later on in order to help promote your exchange op instead of relying on giveaways.

-Also, the 1% commission structure is decent, but it should go down the more me wager on your exchange just like Fairlay.
7168  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 2 BTC wagering Contest is live now! on: September 26, 2019, 07:46:11 AM
No thanks op. If I want to participate in live wagering contests, Stake does the job for me and they have legit mechanics in place unlike the shady mechanics behind Luckygames which the posters above me talked about.

They should apologize and give money back to the victims from their casino if any and the best way to do that is with a new management team.I know though that unfortunately this happens rarely.
What you are mentioning is nothing short of a miracle in my opinion. Legitimate sites try to reimburse their clients sometimes, but you cannot expect a shady site like Luckygames to do the same. They clearly don't care about criticism which is why avoiding them is best.
7169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: September 25, 2019, 03:33:50 PM
I know it will give a chance to other bowlers and they are good as well . But someone like Bumrah helps the team morale to lift up as even opposition fears him . Also his experience and skills are helpful at times of crucial situations . Hopefully others bowlers will deliver and help the team to lift the series .
What you say is true, but the selectors and coaches would have already planned these things in advance and I don't think that the number 1 test nation in the world will face too many issues here.

Don't expect too much from bowlers such as Jadeja, Ashwin and Kuldeep. They haven't done anything extraordinary during the past few months.
Because they didn't receive many opportunities(Primarily Ashwin). If Ashwin and Jadeja get going, they will wreak havoc within minutes. They are my favorite spin combo and I would bet on them any day.
7170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: September 25, 2019, 12:24:17 PM
This is definitely a big jolt to the team as best bowler is now out of the test match which actually could turn the game away as he could easily pick the crucial wickets at important times of the match. And it’s test match so if batsman get settled they would make big score and can turn the match around .
So? Are you forgetting that India has many more capable bowlers who will have a chance to prove themselves(Yadav, Ishant etc) now? I feel like Ishant could penetrate the batting lineup if he gets going.

Jadeja, Ashwin and Kuldeep could destroy the batsmen with their spin variations while Shami will do what he does best. I don't think any SA batsman will thinking of settling down with such a competitive bowling lineup in my opinion.
7171  Economy / Gambling / Re: FortuneJack has a problem in Dice game on: September 25, 2019, 06:54:14 AM
The error is resolved. Please check the main post for the update
Well done op. You deserved the bug bounty for your effort in rectifying such a big issue. Usually, no one bothers with checking whether the mechanics are fine in such popular sites which is why FJ got away with this for so long.

I suppose we should also credit FJ for fixing this!
For fixing an age old issue finally pointed out by a random user? Lol. This one reason and many more complaints against them are the reason why I don't gamble on FJ and prefer other sites like Bitsler etc even though I absolutely love the UI and design of FortuneJack.
7172  Economy / Gambling / Re: This might be a different approach to gambling on: September 25, 2019, 06:47:10 AM
Checked out the site and observed the following:

- Design is way too bland and you could have put more effort into making it look better.
- 1 confirmation deposit should be prioritized over 3 confirmation deposits since 3 confirmations tend to take a lot of time sometimes.
- Expected to find dice and only found heads or tails which is honestly not that appealing.
- How is this 0% house edge model feasible in the long run?
7173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: September 24, 2019, 04:41:44 PM
It was a wrong debate to start with various reason and everyone comparing his T-20 shot with his Test selection, Which is wrong IMHO. both format are different.
I completely agree. I find it quite difficult to select good players for the test format while it is quite easy to choose for other formats. No young player has impressed me so far(Batting) in the test format.

On the other hand, Bumrah has impressed me with his bowling skills in every format based on what I have seen. If India can find 1 or 2 batsmen who are as talented as Bumrah, they will probably be unstoppable in the future.

Edit: Just breached the 3000 post mark. Heck yeah! Feeling awesome!
7174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin and casinos on: September 24, 2019, 09:15:31 AM
Bitcoin in a brick and mortar casino? I doubt that will happen anytime soon. You do realize that many countries ban gambling(FIAT) outright, don't you op? The countries which allow gambling have their own regulations in place.

Accepting BTC as a payment method involved far stricter regulations which can only become a reality if the government legalizes BTC and regulates it effectively and does not impose extra protocols on offline BTC payments. This is highly unrealistic in my opinion.
7175  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com | The Most Popular Bitcoin Casino | V2 & New games out now! 👽 on: September 24, 2019, 07:28:06 AM
I never saw this really huge amount place in one bet, usually big players will play max 1 btc per bet even though they have 10 btc or more bankroll. Now I underatand why stake is more than just a gambling site. Big player or small players just gather here to make some fortune
These are whales basically. I guess you have never been to Las Vegas. The amounts wagered in Stake are small when compared to what whales wager in the Las Vegas casinos just like any popular casino out there.

They must be really big whales man, otherwise there are not idiots who barely have 10 bitcoin total and then just bet it all in just for one bet (or maybe there is I don't know but that would be really silly to do)
Wrong. This is a smart bet and they call this yolo gambling where they wager their entire bankroll at once in order to win a big one and leave. Wagering small amounts might help psychologically, but the house will beat you in the long term which is why this short-term method is very popular.
7176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: September 24, 2019, 07:19:48 AM
From what I see Pant is better than the others  Grin Young age, Left-handed, Good average, Good number of catches and stumpings etc. So let's move on  Tongue
This is old news and almost any Cricket fan is aware of these statistics. Pant is the best choice theoretically, but he is under-performing practically at the moment. As Ravi Shastri said, he will be given more opportunities, but he can't keep letting down his team every time.

A lot of pressure is on Pant currently, but if he can deliver under these conditions, he is the best suitable choice for the future. Also, KL Rahul needs to be given more opportunities too since he has high potential(Though he is not performing well these days).
7177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: September 23, 2019, 01:20:23 PM
They are decent players and Pant is young and might have potential but he never showcased that in any of the matches as he fails for the same shot on the leg side and he is not learning from his mistakes and on the other hand India must go for other options as it is hard to replace a world class player like Dhoni who was a safe player and the best keeper batsman India ever had and Dinesh karthik and Saha are good options if they are in form.
Saha? I disagree. Karthik and Pant are much better selections in comparison. Who knows? Karthik could turn his form around in a major way and stun everyone by replacing Pant.

Dhoni is retired(Test), Dinesh kartik's Test career is finished.  @deadley already mentioned what actually happened with Wriddhiman Saha.
Honestly, Saha is easily one of the worst batsmen I have ever observed while Karthik seems to be out of form these days just like Pant. I would give them both equal opportunities in the short-term though none of them could probably never come close to how good Dhoni was.

7178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 23, 2019, 09:07:41 AM
I see many posters here seems to surprised about why Indian not going with their first-class bowlers. It's not overconfidence, but it's another way around, and they lost last game because of batsmen, not bowlers.
I agree. I find it hilarious when people talk about India being over-confident when the truth is pretty obvious which is the Indian team are simply experimenting with the younger players to find prospective gems for the future.

Bumrah deserves a break and bowlers like Sundar, Saini and Chahar(Who impressed me as expected) deserve a shot. India lost. So what? The series is a draw and both teams played well. Great to see new players getting chances in big matches.
7179  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betmatch.io on: September 23, 2019, 06:32:16 AM
Just checked out the site and could not find any reviews related to it, but the site design(Black and yellow) is pretty decent and the help center on the bottom of the page seems to cover all the essentials.

However, they are only accepting ETH and XBM for deposits and withdrawals currently and they will add BTC and Litecoin soon. Also, they charge a 3% fee on withdrawals which is not too bad if you ask me.
7180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BAKKT launching tomorrow but BTC price falls? on: September 23, 2019, 06:23:29 AM
Libra has nothing to do with Bitcoin, it is just an idea on paper with a high chance of failing. Yet complete ignorance of the good part of the crypto community regarding Libra perhaps influenced the increased demand at one point, but the price is starting to go up in moment someone (Bakkt) is start to pump money in Bitcoin.
I disagree. When Libra was officially announced, the whole world noticed and it was all over the news and it obviously has a direct relation with BTC. BTC too had a high chance of failing initially, until it took off later on which is why Libra could become a strong contender to BTC in the future.

In a time of stability which we have right now, supply and demand are almost equal - it just shows that cheap coins are not too interesting for most investors.
I agree with you here. Most altcoins are irrelevant now and this can be clearly seen by the high level of dominance by BTC these days(Close to 68%).
