7161  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitmain co-founder in legal war against shareholders of the company on: July 07, 2020, 05:20:42 PM

Looks like Micree Thingy may have completed his oust.

I know many of you looked to Jihan for guidance and leadership in the dark years. If he comes calling on you for succour then you know what to do.

Micree has the balls and it's really turning ugly and becoming a shit show. I'm waiting for Jihan to response (if he hasn't responded yet), and if you are a board of directors, you should really pick a side here. I think Jihan has still the influence but Micree has the legality. And I doubt that they will try to destroy bitcoin though, and with their company crumbling down, China has been benefiting from it so logically the government will not allow Bitmain or any other Chinese controlled mining farms to do it.

It seems despite the gloom and appearance of scam projects, Bounty can be worth it if we join the right project

That is, if you find a project that it is worth to join because majority of bounty today are either scam or the project doesn't have a real life usage or the people behind are just going to use it as a pump and dump, so eventually it will die after the boom and bust cycle. I'm not familiar with the project that you are talking about, but if you find success then good for you.
7163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Physical Casinos Decoded : on: July 05, 2020, 03:24:46 PM
The first time I went to a casino, it feels like I don't want to go home and stay for a longer time, the lounge is very cozy , the staffs are very accommodating, there are a lot of freebies, feels like home to me,you are treated like a king especially if you are with a high bettor and high roller.

It's just a good casino, man. This is their job so that you can comfortably spend your money and enjoy the game. Time flies in the casino. That is why it is much more pleasant to play in a regular casino than in an online casino.

It's a job that raking them good money, so they will do everything on their power to put everyone as comfortable as you can get inside a casino, specially a good and well-known land base casinos. And this is what gamblers wanted to see and feel when they are inside, the atmosphere and the sounds of slot machine, people shouting when they hit big. But at the end of the day, you could be losing money in exchange of this experiences.
7164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Hashrate Increases on: July 05, 2020, 02:36:23 PM
We had so much negative expectations before the halving due to the "Bitcoin mining death spiral" headlines from the so-called "crypto news sites". Funny how now we're only like 4 TH/s from the all-time-highs.

https://www.blockchain.com/charts/hash-rate
I realize it doesn't have direct impact on Bitcoin price or anything, but that's a good thing, right? I mean, if miners are willing to mine hard even though halving occurred just recently, it must mean they believe in the profitability for this activity in the long run. If miners think Bitcoin's worth it, this might motivate other users to feel more confident about it. However, if small miners are leaving and only mining farms are staying in business, this means even more centralized mining, which is a bit sad. I don't know if it's true that miners are leaving, even though the difficulty rate is not dropping.

Yes, bitcoin mining is really profitable in the long run and as how much they try to correlate mining to the price of bitcoin, in the end I won't say that it doesn't matter at all as the price could increase base on supply and demand. And I think by now, those who chooses to leave the mining business because they don't see any profits or simply they can't cope up because of the cost are all gone. And those who are left are big mining farms ready to play the game post halving.

7166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the market saturated with too many stablecoins? on: July 04, 2020, 11:59:00 PM
I think we have to look at what's the real purpose of stable coins in the market? Will it bring that "stability" or will it make us confused more with their usage, specially noobs in the market. And we all know that the number 1 stable coin today has a lot of accusations of manipulations in the past. Obviously, Tether and Bitfinex has denied and said. that this is baseless. But if this stable coins allegedly is playing the market around then we might need some alternatives.
7167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRON 4.0: Boom or Bust? on: July 04, 2020, 11:38:01 PM
Lol, Justin Sun will not be known as 'Shill God' for nothing, he really knows how to play around and create hype around his projects, but behind you know that Tron has nothing to offer besides the usual money making scheme of his and his cohorts. And this will be a an ongoing battle on Twitter,

Quote
Like, from any serious point of view, any flaw that ETH has from the perspective of BTC community values, Tron has 10x more. And yet, ETH is often a mortal enemy, and yet Tron, at least psychologically, is viewed as a distant crazy uncle it's cool to be kinda friends with.

https://twitter.com/VitalikButerin/status/1279058642684325890

I'm sorry but I will side with Vitalik here, So I will say that Tron 4.0 will enjoy some crazy pump when released but it won't be sustainable in the long run.
7168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there any successful and relatively new casinos? on: July 04, 2020, 10:50:53 PM
I've been on this forum long enough to see perhaps hundreds of casinos come and go. They keep appearing and dying shortly afterward all the time, and I wonder why people still take such a high risk of opening a casino when there is a close to 100% chance your casino will fail. This got me thinking about popular casinos. Of course, we all know the names. But they are usually years old, not anything from 2019-2020. The one exception is Stake.com, but I wouldn't count it as an example of a new casino appearing out of nowhere and attracting gamblers because it did not come out of nowhere (it's owned by Primedice). Is it just me or are there virtually no recent casinos that got popular? Or can you name some examples? And in general, do you think new casinos appearing in 2020 stand a chance against those with solid reputation and long time on the market?

Good question, there are lot of casinos that recently pop up and the first thing we heard about them is when they have their signature campaigns here, but some of them just have like a 4 week campaign while some continue to go on. So we really don't know what happens to those who run a short campaign. Of course, if they have a campaign here, there could be boost in rankings but it is interested to know what happens after they end the campaign. Do they still enjoy the benefits or even attracted new gamblers?

7171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain is Watching You: Profiling and Deanonymizing Ethereum Users on: July 03, 2020, 11:05:41 PM
Speaking of Ethereum 2.0, I don't think that the being anonymity feature is a priority here, and as you said that Vitalik Buterin said, Ethereum was not designed just that.
So for me, it's ok that the anonymity is not included on the Ethereum 2.0 update, as there are a lot of things that are much priority compare to that anonymity feature of Ethereum.
Same thought here. You would be in surprise to know many crypto adopters really don't care much about anonymity or hell-bent on wanting to have it. Only a fraction of crypto follower want the anonymity cause they need to hide their identity for whatever shady thing they have in their mind.

You have a point, specially when crypto really took off in the last couple of years, it's like noobs scramble and went full nuts to join the bandwagon and just wanted to earn, i.e. bounty hunters. They will do everything just to get those rewards, like sending their full information or even email addresses which later on can be used to de-anonymised someone. It's a whole new ball game out there.
7172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DENT COIN....????? on: July 03, 2020, 10:36:31 PM
I knew about DENT since when they proposed their token sale on the forum. Their token sale was successful... Some time between  2017 to 2018 if I remembered correctly. Anyway, DENT was doing pretty well the last time I checked (Their app on playstore was doing great and getting momentum). In recent time, the price has taken dome big hits.  Regardless of what people say or think, it's up to you to decide whether or not you want to invest or trade DENT tokens. You can join their community channels too if it helps you gauge their progress.

Just like those coins who enjoyed a good run in 2017-2018, DENT already lost everything during the bearish trend and still way behind its previous all time high >85% up to this point. So for the OP, it will really be a big risk to invest on any coin today, not just DENT, you have to do more than that, re-read the whitepaper and everything related to the project to really gauge everything.
7173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In what way you’ll inherit Bitcoin to your loved ones? on: July 03, 2020, 03:14:55 PM
This is one thing I have never really taken care of, to be honest. I have this fear sometimes that I might die and my coins would simply stay locked. I don't think there's anyone I know who could get inside my wallets without prior research about BTC..

Perhaps it's about time to discuss it with your family then? We really don't know man, if you have a ton of bitcoins, at least let someone know how to access it.

I might either teach a few of them (closest ones) how to use the wallets and where to take the passwords and seeds from or, otherwise, I'd probably write it all in a notebook although this is a quite bad idea to do so. Imagine writing a "how to get my Bitcoins!" tutorial for in case I die and a thief finding it. Cheesy That one should either be very very well hidden (perhaps buried underground, but there's moisture and a lot of other factors you have to consider..).

Yes, we really need to go old school and write it everything down or used our imagination on how to hide our private keys, like burying it underground or something. Or just a vault in bank to make sure it will be safe from criminals or physical damage.
7174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]Robeisy Ramirez vs Adan Gonzales on: July 03, 2020, 02:54:39 PM
~snip~
Done betting Cool, use eth instead of btc because of high transaction fee atm on transferring bitcoin.

Unfortunately, the streak has stopped as the Filipino lost his fight against a tall Albert Bell, at 6'0 and obviously take advantage by using his jab to make Mark Bernaldez very uncomfortable in the early going of the fight. And it was a shut out as all the 3 judges score the fight for Bell, 100-90.

https://www.boxingscene.com/albert-bell-easily-boxes-past-mark-bernaldez-decision-win--149928

Not bad on trying to get some luck, that odds was really attractive but it's very clear from the very beginning that Bell has a bigger chance of winning since he is the heavy favorite, if it resulted to an upset, that could have give @bisdak40  a good return of his bet.

Yeah not bad, it's worth a try because of that attractive odd. If they will fight again, i'll still bet for the Filipino fighter  Grin. Have not watch the full fight yet but seeing the highlights, Bell uses his length wisely, height really matter on that fight.

Ramirez got his revenge though not by knockout but a win is still a win. I do think that Top Rank is grooming this kid to become a world champion someday and a fight with Stevenson is inevitable and could be money fight for both.

Thanks for your comments on this thread guys, will be lacking this thread in a few hours.

Next time, we gonna catch those huge odds in our favour.  Smiley. I will keep an eye on Bell though, it seems that he has a good potential and has the tools, good jab, know how to used his reach and a few wins will potentially give him a crack.

Not the end of the road for Mark, just bad stylistic match up for him. I do hope that he will be given more exposure as well.
7175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Getting back in the coin game on: July 02, 2020, 11:58:58 PM
Welcome back, good timing to be back as the market is still in the so-so swing, and you can still invest around as most of the alts are still way below their all time high, so there's is a possibility that you can still profit once we hit that bull run again. Hardware wallet like Trezor and Ledger are still the best as far as security, but you have to be very careful because they have been targeted by a lot of cyber criminals, pretending to be the real and legit Trezor and Ledger, specially fake websites and fake google play store apps.

You can read all about Ethereum staking here: https://cointelegraph.com/explained/ethereum-20-staking-explained

Of course, the top 10 altcoins are still good to hold. So best of luck.
7176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you lend your cryptocurrencies? on: July 02, 2020, 10:59:15 PM
Hi guys, as many of you as I also would like to "do" something with my crypto funds that I held in my crypto wallet. For a few months, I still think if crypto loans really work and there is a very very low risk of losing my funds. I would like to borrow lend my cryptocurrencies with an interest. Blockfi offers up to 8.5% interest p.a. and there are more competitors, but would you 100% trust them? Earning few percent per year vs. losing the big amount of cryptocurrencies fund?

Yes, everything has risk specially the lending services, it's really attractive to see a 8.5% per annum, but your funds are not safe. Honestly, I will rather hold my coins, at least I have total control of it. There are a lot of scammers out there, so it's really hard to trust and lend money to some that you really don't know. Besides, there are also hackers just around the corner.

7177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]Robeisy Ramirez vs Adan Gonzales on: July 02, 2020, 10:36:13 PM
Heads up guys, odds are available now on the bookies and if anyone of you are interested then it's a great opportunity to bet now. Good odds for the Filipino boxer, hoping that Mark Bernaldez will not break the streak.

Thanks again, will try to bet on this fight to continue our winning streak. It is really a good odds and very attractive, nothing to lose here for Mark, and I'm sure he will bring home the bacon again for the Philippines and we have something to cheer on in this pandemic.  Grin
7178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jeff Bezos and Bitcoin on: July 02, 2020, 09:49:23 PM
Today Jeff Bezos is worth more than the market cap of the bitcoin at its price right now, he's more than $1.5M ahead. Jeff Bezos could really own every bitcoin with that huge amount of money, but I'm thinking how much transaction fee he is getting to pay for buying all of the bitcoins (If Ever) and I'm also wondering why at this time of pandemic he got his ATH company shares. With all these money he could just play around, he's above all us in terms of money. Any thoughts about this one?

His wealth is not that liquid though, he need to liquidated his tangible and non-tangible assets just to be able to buy all bitcoins currently in circulation. Of course, he could do OTC transactions to somewhat minimised transaction fees, but still as he buys the price is going to push through so we may have to see fees going up as well.
7179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think players can play properly against a recovered Covid-19 opponent? on: July 02, 2020, 09:12:54 PM
We all know that in some sports leagues, some players are being infected with the pandemic virus.

Now that some sports leagues are bound to resume and others are already resumed, do you think it will play a big role in their performance if somehow a team is against a team with recovered Covid-19 players on it? The mindset is still there that even these former Covid-19 players are now cleared and 100%, the worry is still there.

For me, yes. It can play as a factor in my future betting.

Yes, I think players that are Covid-19 free will have will this kind of mentality when they are up against a person that has recovered from the virus. Of course, they won't admit it, but we all know that humans is fearful of something they know that it can hurt them. So most probably, if we are going to bet, we should factor this somewhat as it can really affect them psychologically, just saying.
7180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My suggestion on Bitcoin adoption on: July 01, 2020, 10:47:56 PM
I love the fact that the whole world isn't aware of Bitcoin yet. I see Bitcoin as a digital Gold. It is supposed to be scarce to retain its credibility. If Gold was made accessible to everyone, The value would never be as high it has always been. In the case of Bitcoin, before the century goes off a quantum of the world population will be accessing the internet and I'm not sure a lot of people will still be interested in knowing what it is.

Bitcoin is 'slowly' being adopted, but it might take some time to fully see the potential to be a currency or a payment scheme because of its volatility. Yes, we love to see the whole world being aware of bitcoin, but we can't really force that issue though. In the long run, it's either you are a bitcoin maximalist or no coiner. If others doesn't see bitcoin or at least some governments thought it could bring more harm to them then we can't do anything about it. That's why we have seen countries banning it, or putting a strict regulatory framework, it is their loss, not ours. (Although I sound a bit selfish here)
