7161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi Anticipated To Reach $5 Billion In Total Value on: July 26, 2020, 07:09:12 PM
More than that, and one thing that put more hype on this is that you can put a bet on what will be the price at the end of the year, What will the total value locked (TVL) in DeFi be at the end of 2020, according to DefiPulse?(Range: $1.00B-$9.00B). Run by Polymarket, a Gnosis-based prediction market, so it will be very bullish, that's for sure.

Thank you for this link, I'm not aware that you can bet and sell your options with this Polymarket. And it's interesting to note as well that based on it, Defi is now around $7 billion. So definitely it could be as hype as the ICO in 2017, but here's the thing, people are actually make money, but you have to wait for months or years because getting the profit and this is a good thing and that is why it is growing rapidly.

I read some news that it has broken $5 billion already (not sure the $7 billion), so I guess all investors are jumping in and trying to make a slice out of that big pie. So if we go by that axiom, the more people to enter the picture the more it will grow obviously and it can trigger the next bull run for altcoin market, which looks like it has started as ETH has broken $300. So it looks like it we are moving in the right direction with DeFi but I will still be cautious.

7163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gervonta Davis vs Leo Santa Cruz on: July 25, 2020, 10:31:38 PM
@Ryker1 - that's how Leo fights, he is a volume puncher and a brawler and that how he is built, so no matter who is opponent is he will always be like that, throwing everything he can. I think Davis can survived that barrage, it's just a matter of adjusted, he is not a brawler but more of a technical fighter. So we will see how many punches can Leo land on Davis. Yes he can still throw 1k punches in the bout, but the question is what percentage are going to connect to make the damage.

@bisdak40 - that's strange bro, there are a lot of questions after the fight, what is Leo wins, what belt is he going to defend? Will Davis will go up in weight or remain at 130?

7164  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitmain co-founder in legal war against shareholders of the company on: July 25, 2020, 10:01:05 PM
I haven't been following this dispute, but has it had any effects on miner shipping times?

Yeah, some were lucky, some were not, delays are expected, not sure how much this will affect and for how long but it's clearly no smooth sailing.
Some very 'bad' news on s19 shipments
At this point is almost like playing the lottery if you deal with them, and your bet is on your product being in control of the part of the company that still works.

Could both of them actually produce ASICs separately, without working together?

No idea about this, and probably only insiders familiar with the logistic chain and with current knowledge of the financial situation would be able to answer, add on top of this the habit of Jihan to split everything into tens of companies is likely these guys are very few in numbers.

I think it's possible that either one of them can produce their own version of it. Remember Zuoxing Yang?  Who left Bitmain and founded his own company MicroBT, then sued by Jihan for patent infringement but eventually lost because the court rules that the design is widely used, thus revoking Bitmain's patent for that.

7166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Junior [PPV on Nov. 28] on: July 25, 2020, 09:03:03 PM
26 - 4 in the poll in favor of Mike Tyson and I thought Jones will be the favorite because of his excellent movement in the ring and this is an exhibition match so Roy will just employ the hit and run tactics in the ring, but anyway whoever wins this match is good for the boxing world because they will be entertained.
I doubt Mike Tyson will approach this fight as a fun exhibition match and i am certain that he will be eyeing for a knockout in the first two rounds and Roy Jones Junior was a brilliant fighter who always maintains distance but the age is a factor as he will not be having those reflexes he had and he is not a one punch knockout fighter but that is not the case with Tyson as he will relay on his power rather than reflexes.

On the contrary, I think this will just be for fun from both camp. Yes, they will some training in preparation for the fight and there will be trash talking for sure. But I'm not seeing anyone of them looking for a knock out or something. Just two legends in boxing doing some exhibition match for the fans.
7167  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitmain co-founder in legal war against shareholders of the company on: July 24, 2020, 09:54:42 PM
@stompix - for me this is a chess match, don't blink as the other side might pull some attack.  Smiley

They are really destroying their company here, and their competition by now are laughing their ass off as they could be separated and imagine two Antminer products out there, which one should we choose  Smiley. Some here, just wondering what will happen to those pre-orders, there could be another round of delays but no clear path as to when they are going to deliver. So those pre orders might be cancelled, another black eye to them if that happens.
7168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gervonta Davis vs Leo Santa Cruz on: July 24, 2020, 09:29:47 PM
Just a suggestion, can you please include on this thread where we can place our bet in such bookmakers and how many bookmakers are there that support on this kind of event. Yes, I know aside from Sportsbet is there any bookmakers where we can place a bet?

You can try NitrogenSports.

I forgot to mentioned that Leo Santa Cruz is a volume puncher, if I'm not mistaken there are matches wherein he throw more than 1000 punches in a 10 or 12 round bouts. So it will be a question on whether Davis can handle that. His lost to Frampton was avenge when they rematch, it was very close, but I do agree that he won in that rematch and readjust, specially adding that body shots. And I think this will be his strategy, take Davis early with his volume punch.
7169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will gambling signature promoters still get the same rate on: July 24, 2020, 08:58:28 PM
I consider this as gambling related discussion but I can be corrected on where to move this topic, but what if in the next month Bitcoin suddenly jump to $30000 or more will gambling promoters still get the same rate that they are getting in Bitcoin like me I'm getting 3000 sats per posts will the developers and admin reduced the amount or retain it, this is one of my motivation in promoting gambling sites, I dream of getting $1 or more per posts equivalent when Bitcoin pump.

In 2017, when bitcoin reaches or at least in a bull run, some campaigns adjusted their rate in reaction to this drastic price changes. So I would say that it will happen again if bitcoin goes to another all time high of $30k as you have said. I would say that you are not going to get $1 or more per posts, as campaigns will readjust their rates. And to counter this, most new campaigns are now paying USD in equivalent in bitcoin (fixed rates).
7170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: D.C. Financial Services Law: Bitcoin is a form of money on: July 24, 2020, 08:34:03 PM
Wow, those are some great news, i hope my country adopt bitcoin as money soon too, that way the business can charge BTC and give a tax ticket. Right now they can't do that because in México bitcoin is considered a 'digital active' and not money.

I was surprised by the decision by the judge here. Most of the time we will hear verdict against the operator of bitcoin trading platform as illegal, but this time the outcome was. very difficult. But I agree that this is a good news indeed, it could set another precedence and this can be use as 'set of rules'. We might see more court cases in the future turn the tide against bitcoin enthusiast here.
7171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pi Network is at 5 million users on: July 23, 2020, 11:56:42 PM
Keep in mind that as long as the coin is not listed, all your gains are "monopoly money".
There are scam accusations in this direction already. Everybody is told to be gaining, but all you did was to give up personal info (the phone app can get quite some info) and received .. promises.
Some even fear that in order to cash in people will have to fill KYC info, which can be even more problematic.
Search and read more....

This one, I still remember one story of a token that grows tremendously, and my friends keeps telling me it's legit and that I should invest. But looking closely, it's not even listed so pretty much that pump is artificial and obviously someone from behind is pushing it to look as if the project is solid. And as I look closely, the money coming in is like $300k only, Lol. so I would advise everyone to research about this project closely and not fall for the hype.
7172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CRYPTO GIVEAWAYS REQUESTING YOU TO SEND FUNDS TO RECEIVE ARE SCAMS on: July 23, 2020, 11:27:44 PM
Few weeks ago, the crypto community received a major hit of scam perpetrated by evil people through the Hacking and hijacking access to major world notable individuals' tweeter accounts. These accounts were used to announce crypto giveaways requesting people to send a sum to receive multiple folds of whatever they send. It all ended up to be scams.

Currently, a similar post of ETH giveaway is going round on the Facebook page of crypto.com and it is obvious that it is another scam being perpetrated by the scammers.

I just want to implore guys to note that nobody who conduct a legit giveaway will first request you to send them fund first.

Or no one not even people who have so much wealth and influence specially in crypto industry like CZ and Vitalik will simply giveaways money to us, that's for sure. Facebook, Youtube and other similar platforms that have been used by the criminals should really police their own back yard before people started to fall for this old trick but never gets fails to deliver and scam unsuspecting newbies.

7174  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitmain co-founder in legal war against shareholders of the company on: July 23, 2020, 10:25:19 PM
It's Jihan's turn to move his pieces in this chess match, Power Struggle Inside Bitmain ‘Hard Forks’ Bitcoin Miner Production.

Quote
The ongoing battle between the co-founders at Bitmain has now essentially hard forked the world’s largest bitcoin miner manufacturer into two different operations and supply chains for making its flagship AntMiner equipment.

Wu Jihan, the co-founder who ousted his rival co-founder Micree Zhan Ketuan last year, registered a new entity on July 16 in Shenzhen, China. The new entity, called Guiji Yanghang, is a subsidiary of another recently incorporated company named Beijing Guiyuan Dalu, which is controlled by Wu’s side.

Wu removed Zhan from Beijing Bitmain in October, following a long-time power struggle between the two. But Zhan made his comeback in June to control the entity again after winning favor from authorities earlier this year.

So Jihan registered a new company and we might see Bitmain splitting into two and producing the same AntMiner, how ironic it is for Jihan who supported a fork coin. Smiley
7175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Steve Wozniak Sues YouTube Over Twitter-Like Bitcoin Scam on: July 23, 2020, 10:00:06 PM
It's right time everyone step up against these scammers, the blame should be vented on YouTube for their negligence towards swinging into action when reports were made by Steve Wozniak. Does this mean that, YouTube are also hiding something from us? Maybe they should tell us what they know about series of scammed that has taken place in their platform. How could someone made reports about his reputation be touted and still no action was done to Savage the situation.

Negligence would be the appropriate word, as we all know, they really have relax policy on fake giveaways using Steve or Elon Musk and others photos or videos and most of the time they are late in taking down the videos as it has already scammed a lot of people. I remember one Elon Musk fake giveaways, who stayed in Youtube and they taken it down two hours later, but the scammer have run more than $200k already. They should take notice of this alarming number of scammers in their platform.
7176  Economy / Gambling discussion / [Boxing]: Gervonta Davis vs Leo Santa Cruz - Oct 31 on: July 23, 2020, 04:08:33 PM
Scheduled on October 24 31 in Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut The Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. This is another fight that is also highly anticipated, as we all know that Davis is an exciting fighter (although he has problems lately with making weights). And Leo Sta. Cruz is no push over.

However, I don't see Leo giving Gervonta problems here, this could end up in judges scorecard in favor of Davis.

7177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BetKing sponsors kenya football , is it a publicity stunt ? on: July 22, 2020, 11:21:14 PM
Nah, just another publicity stunt for BetKing here, there reputation precedes them and most likely wanted to restore some in crypto community by supposedly supporting female league.

7179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty thread with self moderated lock on: July 22, 2020, 10:21:06 PM
Guys please be careful with bounty campaign threads that is self moderated by the bounty manager, it means you won't be able to ask questions or raise an alarm in the thread, presently it's what the bounty manager of ibidtowin project did. Most self moderated bounty thread are scam

I do agree on this, self-moderated thread specially for bounties are like censorship. But if you did ask questions and was deleted, you can open a thread about it in Reputation board to call the attention of the bounty manager. But definitely, this is a red flag to me.
7180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoins dominance coming to an end? on: July 22, 2020, 09:54:49 PM
A lot of speculations coming around this forum as well as in many other sites regarding the dominance if BTC is going to end, Are the alts going to take over???

Where as I went through few links where it states like big whales are targeting altcoins over BTC. Pretty cool 😎 but I still believe in this valuable asset because remember what happened in 2017 it rallied more than 1000%. So guys don't panic and take serious decisions have patience till it recovers BTC is still dominating and hopefully it will in upcoming. Link just for reference.

https://dailyhodl.com/2020/07/21/bitcoins-status-as-crypto-king-is-coming-to-an-end-predicts-blockchairs-nikita-zhavoronkov-heres-why/amp/

I remember that when we are in a bull run in 2017, bitcoin's dominance is <50%. So it could be a good indication if we loss some today but gain in price. I think the this DeFi is pumping the altcoin market and there could be some whales shifting their money where there is a good chance to profit even higher than bitcoin because of the DeFi hype. I'm not that nervous though, and we all know that this hype will die down and everyone will go back to bitcoin market in no time.
