7181  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 Network Usage on: January 27, 2019, 04:09:29 PM
that's alot, something is wrong, as tim-bc suggested, use something like wireshark to see what's going on with that inbound traffic, can you share your miner network configuration?
7182  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Maduro will fall. Opportunity to invest in Venezuela through Bitcoin? on: January 27, 2019, 02:05:29 PM
actually not a bad idea at all, it's always good to "buy when there is blood in the streets". it's just a matter of how quickly things could move towards your desired directions, for all we know there could be long lasting civil where war there and things might keep getting worse.
7183  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer T9 hash board temp/hashrate problem on: January 27, 2019, 01:58:43 PM
your rejected shares are 125 while accepted are 1370 this makes it at almost 10% rejected, very bad still.

also this firmware is auto-tune  as i thought earlier, and now the picture confirms it, what does this do is the following.

whatever freq you set, will be the base minimum, it will test it first and then move higher till it get's to the number that it "thinks" ideal for your chips, but sadly that's far from accurate in this case.

so the only "straight forward" solution i can think of now is to flush another firmware that allows you set a static frequency.

unless one of the members here have an easy way around using SSH to modify the firmware not to search for frequency, though i doubt it, i would just go straight to another firmware if i was you.

should you go with that, ensure you using the correct fw , that T9 has a few of them.

I'm evaluating whether frequent micro-gains are better than less frequent mini-gains. Another interesting area is arbitrage between GBP, EUR and USDC in the Bitcoin trading rooms.

frequent micro gains usually yield more overall profit, but it's so much effort and time wasted. and it's not for everybody, i tried a ton of time to be able to make those fast trades, take little profit and leave, jump on another trade, rinse and repeat. it just never worked for me, maybe i am too old for this already!
i find that that works best for me is mid to long term trades ( regardless of profit in %), i usually make my decisions based on weekly and daily timeframes, i use 4hr to get a zoon-in on my entry and exist levels.  besides sticking to some rules , i find myself not taking that many trades, sometimes a whole week passes with no trade for me. but my overall results have increased significantly when i stopped looking for those small micro gains and allowed my trades to run on larger frames.

1- I get to sped more time with the family, do other things i like rather than staring at my charts all day long.
2- I keep my self stress-free, the noise, the manipulation and everything that happens in small time frames don't bother me.
3- applying what i learned from trading small time frames on large time frames has given me a very good overall results, TA accuracy increases.

i am not really sure what would be micro or mini in terms for profit % , i just find it easier to focus on targets that appear on large timeframe which are usually 15% and above in crypto pairs.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

arbitrage is good if automated, trying to chase those price differences manually gave me a night mare so i ditched it. but i am aware of people using bots to do that.
7185  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S9 Hydro not reporting or connecting on: January 27, 2019, 12:18:26 AM
it will take time to report full hashrate, also try to restart your router ?

as far as slushpool goes, i still want to see the configuration page to determine any typos, usually a leading space keeps you from connecting.
7186  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S9 Hydro not reporting or connecting on: January 27, 2019, 12:04:59 AM
are you following  the exact details?

please copy paste from this

URL :

Code:
stratum+tcp://us-east.stratum.slushpool.com:3333

worker " username should be your slushpool username"

Code:
userName.s9a

password

lol swiss miner b.s is now showing on youtube ads, was just trying to watch a youtube video and their ad showed up. next level of scam B.S
7188  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S9 Hydro not reporting or connecting on: January 26, 2019, 11:24:05 PM
but when I goto antpool
instead of miners
Takagari.s9h001
Takagari.s9h002

I now have only one miner showing as Takagari.1
at 358GH/s

this is because you use the same worker on the two miners.

go to your miner configuration. name the workers as follows

first miner :

Takagari.1

second miner :

Takagari.2

I tried putting a miner onto my slush pool and it simply never connected.

you might be putting the wrong setting,  can you post here how do you configure slush pool worked?

I feel I may have an issue in my network? something I can't seem to find.

if antpool is working fine, then it's unlikely to do with your network, you just need to ensure you are using the right server that is close to you and using the correct settings.

just post screenshots of the configuration, will be able to tell you what exactly needs to be done.
7189  Other / Serious discussion / Re: It's just a game! on: January 26, 2019, 11:15:20 PM
same way UN have solved poverty for years in Africa with billions of USD but it still remains Rocket science but some regions in Europe spent less to become a great nation!!

UN is fake as fuck, name those regions on Europe who spent less than the average African country? they are non , simply put

European countries mainly France, Italy and Britain colonized Africa for ages, stole their resources, slave them to help build Europe.

in fact up to this moment, without the need of forces on ground, many African countries are still occupied, some European countries still work day and night to ensure the situation remains the same in Africa, up to this point France and Italy are fighting over Libya's resource both refusing to let go, keeping the country in a fucked up situation  for 8 years now.

whatever the deputy PM of Italy said about France was 100% correct, while he indeed does not give fuck a about Africa ,those statements are correct.

feel free to debate, but I live right at where the game is being played, i unlike most people don't get these facts from TV, i wake up every morning to witness it right at my door.

7190  Other / New forum software / Re: 59 packages used in Epochtalk, why ? on: January 26, 2019, 10:58:43 PM
go and search 3 expert PHP developers & 2 frontend developers for a 3k per month each for and that's a real solution.

i am not aware of any real expert PHP developers that will accept 3k per month , neither have a ability to build such a project from zero in a month period.
7191  Other / Meta / Re: 270 trust.7 trust.3 trust compared to minus 128 trust on: January 26, 2019, 10:46:11 PM
You do understand that one of the reasons why we have merit are such accounts?

Not to mention other things...

sorry, i don't quite understand what "such accounts" you are referring to.
7192  Other / Meta / Re: 270 trust.7 trust.3 trust compared to minus 128 trust on: January 26, 2019, 10:25:14 PM
Those(bold part) are my words but I don't remember tagging you and I don't remember saying anything you posted unless you used my words to say something to someone else, but that doesn't make any sense because you used word "you" and it is referring to me unless I missunderstand you.

i think He is referring to the merit/DT "gang" bullshit as a whole.

it's off topic ,tho he has a valid point in this, having the benefit of  doubt should not be a privilege to certain group of members, just because someone is somehow an established member, that alone should not make him any different from the newbie who joined last night when comes to applying laws or rather standards in the case he refers to,  in fact the contrary makes more sense, the punishment to those members who have been here long enough and have no excuse of " i didn't know this was wrong to do" should be stronger than to the rest.

i am not against giving seconds chances but this has to apply to everyone else to be fair , just my 2 cents.
7193  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: T9+ low GH/S(avg) on: January 26, 2019, 10:04:29 PM
decided to reboot.  hashing back to normal.  Smiley

really?dude rebooting shouldn't need a decision when comes to antminers, i reboot my miners for the sake of it. it's the first thing you need to try to solve any problem, reboot a few times if the problem still there, cut the power, try 1,2 times. if those fail then look for soltuion, but really think of reboot like first aid kid, use it before you do anything.

i am pretty sure everyone who read your thread would never imagine that you have not tried to reboot and flush a different firmware. Grin

anyway, glad things are working for you, happy mining.
7194  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Question about powering Antminer S9s in Singapore on: January 26, 2019, 09:58:27 PM
Hair dryer? Please think of them like an air conditioner unit. You see how they usually dedicate a separate circuit for those? Same thing.

not really, the average hair dryer consumes 1500 wats, an S9 consumes a bit less than that.

the difference however is that you don't run your hair dryer 24/7.  so different set up is needed indeed.
7195  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer T9 hash board temp problem on: January 26, 2019, 09:53:27 PM
based on the photos you posted your boards were running at 666m , tho it does seem like it has an auto tune firmware,i suggest you set it for 550, test it for a few hours, if all good, increase gradually, you need to have low rejected, hardware error and stale shares.

note this

- you need to test it for hours to reach to conclusion that these setting are good
- you don't need all the time to know the settings are bad, if after 1-2 mins you start getting those errors, don't waste time, reduce.
- i personally find it better to restart the miner after every frequency change.
7196  Other / Serious discussion / Re: I can't trade the channels. on: January 26, 2019, 06:52:37 PM
didn't really "plan"  to take it out of context  as i have not seen that you were actually trading only actuals , so i assumed you simply don't short bitcoin for the sake of it. but now i see where you coming from.  by the way, do you pay more fees for trading GBP/BTC than trading USD/BTC?
7197  Other / Serious discussion / Re: I can't trade the channels. on: January 26, 2019, 03:40:19 PM
well you know, the best strategy is the one that works, i agree to most of what you said but this verse

Quote
The fundamentals for the product have to be strong, and I believe this is so for Bitcoin. You can only make money from a long position

is just not right, to me , what is more important than the fundamentals is the trend, we are in a down trend, it's always safer to short than to long until the trend direction shifts.

as for trading channel break out, it's really not as hard, and it is very very profitable once done right.

check my thread  > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5071613.msg48728669#msg48728669

if you got time you can check the whole post, i kept it updated with all most of the positions i took , most of them were shorts positions. using nothing but support and resistance.
7198  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I just thought about sharing this, learn to take advice on: January 26, 2019, 03:26:24 PM
well this " Stop searching for merits and you will received them" is not directly accurate, in fact once you search for merit, you tend to make better quality posts.
the issue however with many users including high rank members, is that they try too hard, they post tons of posts every hour hoping to get merit for one or two of them, the main issue with this approach is that they lose focus and instead of posting 1 good post , they post 10 shitposts instead, and when they don't get merit - their 11th post is "complaining about how the merit system sucks".
7199  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be A Good Miner on: January 26, 2019, 11:37:17 AM
You are always better off just buying the coins instead of purchasing mining hardware.

this is wrong, how is it more profitable to have bought bitcoin for 10k instead of buying a few miners ?  also the price can go in side-ways market for ages, mining generate constant coins, hodling generate constant blood pressure.

this pretty much depends on many factors, different for everyone, but the exact statement of yours is very wrong to say the least.
7200  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer T9 hash board temp problem on: January 26, 2019, 11:20:30 AM
your second miner has a problem with the second board (chain 7) it's missing a chip.

and you are getting a TON of hardware errors and stale shares and rejected shares, these miners are over clocked, doesn't matter who overclocked it , i know there are T9 labeled at 12.5th but it's simply over-clocked.  you need to reduce the frequency to get less rejected and stale shares.
