7181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Wallet Security on: July 17, 2015, 09:10:50 AM
there are ways to secure your wallet and bitcoin other than using 2fa.
like using the cold-storage which has many different ways to it.
from paper wallets to creating offline wallets on your pc.

i have known about reddcoin from back when its price was 20 satoshi and all i saw from them untill now was a downhill progress to 5 satoshi.

actually what Amph said higher was the same thing that i was thinking about these kinds of coins. because their price always goes down because of the high supply they have and lack of people's interest (demand).

you're right, but the price is low and a good entry for the PoS idea. especially with 0.02 bitcoin Smiley

you did not understand what i said!

i am saying that the price is always going down. which means for example if i buy 0.02 BTC worth of RDD (X RDD) and wait a long period of time for stacking rewards (Y RDD), after the said period my X+Y RDD is worth less than 0.02 BTC since the price had gone down in the future.

or the price can go up in the future. that's the risk of trading volatile currencies. All I said is that reddcoin or any other super cheap PoS coin is a nice starter for newbies.

according to what you say, a year ago same month RDD was 30 satoshi and it is all downhill from then. if i have bought 66,666.66 RDD i should have earned 333,333.34 RDD from stacking in a year just to cover my losses and have the same 0.02BTC today.

can i really get more than 333K RDD in reward to have a profit at the end of the year?

EDIT:
this "or the price can go up in the future" is wishful thinking which i am not willing to invest according to that.
7183  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can u get bitcoins? for free on: July 17, 2015, 08:31:14 AM
Where can u earn or get bitcoins for free
i don't like shit like a faucet
please help my

nothing is free, even faucets do not actually give free bitcoin, you are doing a job for every satoshi you earn.

the only free bitcoin that you an find is going to be giveaways which are hard to come by these days since bitcoin is not a new coin and the price is high.
the only other option that comes to my mind is looking for altcoin giveaways and then convert them to bitcoin which i doubt if you can earn a considerable amount this way

7185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is NOT a currency debate! on: July 16, 2015, 04:47:34 PM
HMM BITCOIN IS A CURRENCY!!! AFTERALL IT A   GOOD SERVICE WE CAN CONVRRT IT INTO OTHER CURRENY WITH ANY SUCH PROBLEMS!!!

IF you can't convert it, would you use bitcoin?

of course not!
but we can convert it to fiat so it is usable and also a good investment.

but in order to become a currency it needs to be accepted by services instead or as another payment method side by side of cash. and since bitcoin is in its early stages we can safely assume that it has the potential to reach that level of acceptance and stability.
7186  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin noob on: July 16, 2015, 04:43:31 PM
Hey, so I heard about bitcoin a while ago and figured I'd give it a go, basically just wanted to buy some stuff with bitcoin but apparently it's a lot more complicated than just exchanging money for bitcoins. I downloaded kraken and found that if I wanted to start I'd have to pay a fee of 2k just to get started.

Also the wallet I got "bither" is pretty confusing. I don't have a clue about api's or qr codes. I just want to buy around €500 worth of bitcoins, store them on a wallet I can actually understand and buy stuff, without all the technical stuff that goes along with it. Is that possible?

before doing anything else you should choose a good wallet for yourself https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet
i have never even heard of "bither"!!! choose one that is popular and secure. and remember to always download it from the official website and not just a random probably phishing site.

for buying bitcoin i think your best choice can be coinbse.com which you can use as your wallet too but you have better and safer options.
7187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How old were you when Satoshi started Bitcoin? on: July 16, 2015, 04:35:27 PM
How old were you when Satoshi Nakamoto published the Bitcoin White Paper in 2009? I wont be able to tell you how old am I when the white paper was published. I was only a kid when it happen. Back then, I am a boy with no internet access. I only started to "lurk" around the internet a year after the white paper was published. Even if I have internet access back then, I would not know about Bitcoin because I am a kid. I rather play game on Miniclip than reading ..

i was 18 years old and didn't even know about bitcin back them, what a shame...

now i am into bitcoin more than ever and holding for the future.
7188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about those bitcoins that are LOST? on: July 16, 2015, 07:52:45 AM
i don't know if this is what he meant or even this was in his mind when he posted the top comment but there is an address that only eats bitcoins and in fact destroys them:
https://blockchain.info/address/1BitcoinEaterAddressDontSendf59kuE

this address is without private keys so if you send to that address the coins will be lost forever!

i didn't know that this was possible, you always learn something new each day, i've read online that you can do it with electrum seedless wallets or electrum pos system

or they just have hidden the private key in some way?

Exactly the address i was thinking about, thank you Herbert2020  Smiley
Now when you say this address has no private keys what do you mean.
Was this address created without private keys? (If even possible)
Or were the private keys just destroyed to this address, if so who did and or approved this?

creating an address with that many custom characters (BitcoinEaterAddressDontSend) is impossible.
check out vanity address for more info. it is proximately like this :
creating with 3 custom characters take less than a minute and 4 takes half an hour and more becomes exponentially harder until impossible.

so that address 1BitcoinEaterAddressDontSendf59kuE is impossible to have private keys.
but creating such address is very well possible:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=973998.0
but it is useless since you can never spend the coins!!
7189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Counterfeiting bitcoin on: July 15, 2015, 02:54:54 PM
What if someone made exact copy of bitcoin? Exactly the same way bitcoin works and created new bitcoins. Would the miners see it and not let the transations trough or is this possible?

those bitcoins created on the fake bitcoin network can never be included in a block and would never be relayed by any node or confirmed by any miner.

that would simply be an altcoin, which is happening everyday with a new name and a fancy announcement page!

http://www.coinfox.info/news/2408-bitsoko

Seems like Bill Gates finally went from "Bitcoin is good, but not good enough" to fully embracing it. Im glad people slowly come to their senses and deal with the fact Bitcoin is indeed good enough.

them denying the greatness of bitcoin is just for publicity or maybe other reasons Wink but never doubt that they didn't know about if bitcoin is good or not and just realized it!
this is so obvious that they don't wanna be left out.
7191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If someone could make a wallet that does offline transactions... on: July 15, 2015, 02:42:52 PM
for 12 hours then posts them all onto the blockchain... THAT'd be great.

How do you profit?

Charge x amount per offline transaction, then when 12 hours is up put a fee to process all the transactions at less than what you have collected from your transaction cost, boom, you know you'll get your tx send within 12 hours and the "company" profits from it.

currently you can create transactions offline with all kinds of wallets.
you can even use a simple line of code to do so.

something like the brainwallet will do this for you too, all you have to do is to put your private key in and sign the transaction with amount sent and fee. then you have the tx which you can broadcast (push tx) any time you want.

i don't completely understand what is the purpose of this company that you are talking about would be?
7192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Should you stay or should you go? on: July 15, 2015, 02:38:00 PM
when it's the best time to buy BTC again?
I think now best time to buy BTC again at rate $292.  Grin

Because Bitcoin price will not down under $285, And I believe Bitcoin price will touch $310 at this weekend.  Cheesy

i think the better approach is to invest in bitcoin for long term and so as a result this level of price would be very good to buy bitcoin at.

because bitcoin price is going up in the near future and these little bumps will be unnoticeable in the long run.
7193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about those bitcoins that are LOST? on: July 15, 2015, 02:35:41 PM

So, unless people intentionally sent coins to 1DontSentHereCoz1tsGone4Ever they cannot prove that they are telling the truth or don't have any backups.
Could someone please explain how this address works?
I imagine that it's just a btc address that is guaranteed some how that the private keys have been distroyed, but are the coins still sitting in that wallet/address and could anyone ever hack it to steal the coins?

i think it's a joke man, that address does not exist lol, but i guess someone could customize it with some tools

7194  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have 0.02 btc , want to invest on: July 15, 2015, 12:49:10 PM
0.02 is not much.

you could either try your luck in gambling sites or check for POS (Proof of Stake) Altcoins and try to make some Stake on them.

how long does it take to receive your reward on a Stake altcoin?
also is it really worth it to invest in something like that since the altcoins usually have so volatile price and it might go down drastically and make what you have earned through staking worthless?

depends. if you find a new altcoin that starts with a cheap price you can get some amount. a known POS coin is Reddcoin for example, super cheap.

i have known about reddcoin from back when its price was 20 satoshi and all i saw from them untill now was a downhill progress to 5 satoshi.

actually what Amph said higher was the same thing that i was thinking about these kinds of coins. because their price always goes down because of the high supply they have and lack of people's interest (demand).
7195  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Suggest Me a Investment ! [0.09 BTC] on: July 15, 2015, 12:30:58 PM
i think the 0.09BTC is a nice amount to start trading altcoins with it .
because it is not a lot so that you would have to endure terrible losses and it is big enough so that you can trade easily a couple of coins and learn everything.

but be careful about further gambling since it is not always like you can win, and it would be sad to lose after earning a nice amount.
7196  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Should i change my wallet? on: July 14, 2015, 11:46:59 AM
Should i change my wallet im experiencing lots of bugs with blockchain.info , but i still dont know if i should change or what other wallet i should get ,i like the onlines one because im scared that if something happens to my pc i couldent login to my wallet

can someone please tell me what i should do ?
should i change my wallet?

For web wallet, you can try BitGo or GreenAddress. Just don't store big amount on web wallet and exchanger.

I personally use my own PC and i used Electrum, easy to use, secure wallet.

Im still confused if i should change, everybody knows me by my main address and it would be wierd for me to change it
still having some troubles with the wallet

Use an import/export feature, move to other wallet.
so here is a question if import my private key to a desktop wallet(electrum) will i be able to ue both of the wallets with same address? so that i can use the address on blockchain and electrum?

whoever has the private keys to a bitcoin address can use that coins that are in that address, so yes, if you import your privatekeys from you bc.i account into Electrum you can use that address to send from.

but try to use a fresh created address and sweep the old keys instead of importing them. it is much safer this way.
7197  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: talking about the bitcoin faucets. on: July 14, 2015, 11:42:51 AM
what is the best faucets you can find?
i always find freebitco.in good because it pays more than most faucets and its referral payment is high (50%) and legit, not like some that just say they will pay but they don't!

should we setup a bitcoin faucet?
probably not Wink

how to attract people to use faucet?
lot of advertising, high payment, after that keep it high and add high referral bonus

there are certain faucets in which allows upgrade to increase profit, is that more profitable?
i think they are more like a ponzi rather than a faucet, so not profitable.
7198  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hey everyone, how and where do you use your bitcoin? on: July 13, 2015, 12:56:24 PM
After learning that the humble bundle accepts bitcoin in another thread, i wanted to know what other cool places I could spend my BTC at, if you have some cool places that accept BTC, please share!

Wanted to fill your needs with BTC?
Try:
1. www.pesobang.com ► Online shopping site accepts bitcoin as a payment method and shipping internationally with a good and quick customer suport.
2. www.bitrefill.com , www.piiko.com ► Mobile topup for your bits with instant topup and a quick and good customer support.
3. www.cryptothrift.com , www.payivy.com ► i don't know about this  Roll Eyes
4. www.hackforums.net ► a forum. Use BTC to buy l33t, ub3r memberships.
etc.,

ive used payivy for some purchases before, theyre legit enough provided the merchant is selling legitimate goods.

is there any good place that sells steam games and steam wallet codes for a good price maybe with some discounts?
7199  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to earn Bitcoins? on: July 13, 2015, 12:54:16 PM
I hope I can see the bitcoin in a $1000 mark like it did in the past. Mining will be more active again.

aside from the obvious profit that i can get from the price rise, most of all i want the price to go up so that i can start mining and GHS trading again at cex.io if they resume their cloudmining service.
7200  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Holding Bitcoin a long time good way to make money? on: July 13, 2015, 12:44:36 PM
Well the bottom line here is , just hold bitcoins and keep it rocks in the future. Only convert bitcoins to real money when needed.

if you want to keep your bitcoin for long time and don't use them till the price went up , just remember to keep your coins in a safe place like an offline wallet or generally in  cold storage. and specially avoid keeping large amounts in online wallets.
