722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 7 GPU Ethereum Mining Rig Hashrate Problem on: July 13, 2017, 05:08:23 AM
Try windows, should work, I think it's a driver issue with your linux.
723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 7 GPU Ethereum Mining Rig Hashrate Problem on: July 13, 2017, 04:45:58 AM

I've built 2 7 GPU mining rigs. Setup is the same for both of them.

Setup:
7 x Asus ROG Strix Radeon RX 580 8GB GPUs
1 x Z170A Gaming M5 Motherboard
1 x Inte Pentium Processor G4500 3.0 GHz CPU
1 x SanDisk SSD PLUS 120GB
2 x EVGA SuperNOVA 750 P2 PSUs
1 x Corsair Vengeance LPX 4GB DDR4 3000mhz
1 x Add2Psu PCU Adapter
7 x 16x to 1x Powered Riser Adapter Cards

What could be a problem here? I see mostly people using Windows for Ethereum 7 GPU mining, could it be OS problem? I prefer Linux for easier remote command line management and also I know it better than Windows.

I have the same issue on both on my rigs.

Thanks a lot ahead for any help.

I have built several rigs already and I am still doing it like I did the first time: 1 videocard at a time, plug in PCI-E x16 the first GPU, start the miner. Does it has good hashrate? Good, take it off and plug it in the riser and get the second gpu, plug it in PCI-E x16. Does it has good hashrate? Good, continue until you don't have any unplugged GPU's.

I plugged my 1st GPU directly into 1st PCI-E x16 and the hashrate is around 2 Mh/s. Same if I plug it into 2nd PCI-E x16. Does it mean the card is damaged?

I doubt it is broken, can you try another operating system, like Windows 10? Also, did you plug the monitor in the GPU or are you connecting through network?

I am not sorry for bumping this topic up, but apparently bitcointalk have missed this news, important these days with all the ICO IPO crazyness.
Does this mean that he will pay 12 million and walk free? Who know how american justice work?

726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lets talk about Sia's Obelisk on: July 11, 2017, 09:26:14 AM
It scam, ordinary ASIC for BITCOIN, but with software for scam mining pool. This minig pool will take to youself BITCOIN from cooperative mining.

Man, I usually agree with your posts so can you please elaborate on the scam thing and why do you believe this?
727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lets talk about Sia's Obelisk on: July 11, 2017, 09:19:59 AM
@mktorn, @Vivisector999 has explained it, I can't elaborate more, don't want to say something without being 100% sure, it's technical & Hi-Tech we are talking about here and I don't have enough knowledge here.

Sia's price is $0.006506, I had a feeling that I am buying too early, with all this obelisk news and not selling enough. Now only 1240 has been sold, people obviously expected more from obelisk, faster deliver of hardware or/and more reasonable price, even if it had less hash power proportionally. I would have bought one ASIC for 650$ maximum, even if it had x5 less hashrate than the actual one, just to support SIA's infrastructure, to contribute to the decentralization. I have some hundreds of hashing power now, I can afford 2500$, just not for this product - 1 year in crypto is a lot, with the money for one ASIC, I can buy 5x 1070, mine for a year, sell them and buy an ASIC if somebody will sell it, if no, oh well, another "risk" I am willing to take.

Locking $2500 for an ASIC after a year? A horrible investment, $2500 are $2500.

Anyhow, I am optimistic, I really see the people looking at the obelisk page and getting disappointed every day, those are the weak people, I believe SIA's team have some ongoing deals with some big money, partners and they will sell those ASIC's very soon, check twice a week the obelisk page, if some chunks of 100+ will be sold daily, the deals are on and it's time to buy.

0.0065$ is a good enough time for me to buy a bit more - another 5% of my total SIA's.
728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Ethereum Mining NoDevFee v7.1 on: July 09, 2017, 10:57:53 AM
Working great! Thx Millenium Falcon Smiley Let the noobs think you are a scammer... They should pay 2% to claymore and all is good Smiley

But how can i use this with other coins?

I try to mine MUSIC but your tool think DevFee Mining is starting..

Creating all these 1 post accounts.

People watch out SCAM. Run wireshark when running this and you will find out yourself. Also never run of on a machine with wallets on it. Software seems to have a funcfion to search the harddisk for that

Can you provide us the results from wireshark or whatever proof he is scaming us? I am mining with Falcon's NoFee for 2 weeks, I did not notice any drop in hash rate. Is it too small to be noticed?
729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lets talk about Sia's Obelisk on: July 09, 2017, 06:57:39 AM
Okay, now I see some sort of strong support around 0.013$, I have bought again now with 0.0148$, needed confirmation of strong buyers, that's why I didn't buy at 0.013$, the same amount I sold earlier, 25% cheaper.

I was right, yay!
Now lets hope Sia is really great as I believe it is.
You did a good sell /buy back trading. Congratulations. But crypto world is complex, maybe they just want to sell ASICs for money.

Thank's.
Of course they sell them for money, I would be suspicious if they wouldn't calculate at least some profit on ASICs. I also understand why ASICs are necessary for a cloud project, if in a regular currency in case of a 51% attack people lose "only" their coins, with SIA a 51% attack could lead to the destruction of SIA's cloud storage infrastructure and the loss of all data.

That will be catastrophic for SIA, such an attack could destroy SIA completely.

I found good support at $0.010, bought +20% of my total SIA holdings.
730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lets talk about Sia's Obelisk on: July 08, 2017, 06:24:16 AM
Okay, so now I have moved all of my SIA to an exchange to sell ASAP, the announcement disappointed me, I believe a lot will sell, maybe I will buy later.

https://www.reddit.com/r/siacoin/comments/6j1gyg/obelisks_sia_asics_full_details/

Later Edit: They sell them for BTC, 2499$, now big SIA supporters will have no choice than selling their SIA to BTC to pre-order the asics. The price will tank, there is no other possibility.

A little bit weired...

The dev-team introduces a milestone to strengthen the sia-network
!
!
!
You say:
Big supporters have to sell all their sc now.

Don't you think, that big supporters have some money left apart from their investment in sc ...?
Don't you think, that producing a unique piece of hardware for sc only is a big big proof of the trust from the dev-team in their project?

But:
Please sell your coins.
Looks like some people are not ment for earning profits...

Some people have some money apart, some don't. If I would be a big SIA supporter, I would have most of my coins in SIA. That was just an assumption of course, If I would have a lot of BTC, probably I wont sell my SIA, but from my side, I see an oportunity from this release - to buy SIA cheaper, I bought it late, around $0.013, so I am guessing that I will be able to buy again, as I like SIA. Again, maybe it will go straight up, this is a risk I am willing to take.

Hardcore totally called it! Major kudos, accolades and crypto-cred...It dropped in price, and probably for the reason he gave. Only a few hundred people purchased the first week 1000 units. I'd imagine a lot of them were Do a believers who unloaded their Sis to buy one (or 3).

I'm new to SIA, but this ASIC announcement got my attention. Everything I've learned about them since then has only instilled confidence in the coin long term. Even when sales came in lighter than they expected, their transparency and mea culpa was impressive for a crypto.

I pre-ordered one the 1st day and am now considering another. Check out this other thread on the Obelisk if you're interested.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1976753.20

Now that they want to raise money for 4000 ASIC's, the price may still drop. I will search for a strong support and buy from there again. Yes, and I am reading that topic you mentioned, just did not have anything to add. Smiley

Just stay away from any ICO. ALL ICO's have unfair distribution, why participate in such a thing when there are plenty of working coins distributed fair.

735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solving the ICO Dump Crisis on: July 06, 2017, 12:26:48 PM
You can't possibly limit how much people buy. Limits like 100 Eth cannot be enforced.

You're blaming whales for dumping but that's not just whales but 9/10 people getting into ICOs; they see a bunch of promises, some advertising maybe a few pretty graphs and videos and that's enough for them to roll the dice.

The problem with ICOs aren't whales, it's people who throw money at ICOs.

ICO gamblers are soldem crypto enthusiast or even care about crypto, they just want a quick payout.

Everyone and their grandmother is either buying mining rigs to mine 1 or maybe 2 coins and/or to roll the dice on ICOs.

If you expect ICO participants to tie their money down for a year, why not also lock the funds they pay for you and slowly unlock it to the devs over a year to make it fair and keep you guys incentivized not to just run with the funds?

Hi bathrobehero, the 100ETH cap is built directly into the solidity code. Unfortunately, whales have dominated all of the recent ICO's, during the Status ICO, over 95% of unique investors contributed investments of 100ETH or less, but their combined investment was dwarfed by the sheer magnitude of the 5% of large investors. This does not create a healthy economy, no matter how you spin it, and that's what we're combating.

In regards to your question,

We are a U.S. based corporation operating out of Ohio. Federal and state laws prohibit embezzlement and fraud. If actions, as you described, were to occur, you should expect legal action will be pursued.

As always, it's up to the individual investor to weigh the risks and potential benefits and choose whether or not they want to participate in our crowdsale. We're proud of our work, and want to share it with as many people as possible. Thanks for your response!

Your scam is so obvious it insults my intelligence.

Here we go, another scam on the way.

Give us a brake, HEROinME, if you can deliver something, deliver it and sell it for tokens, not the opposite!

Thanks for your comment, I understand there are ICO scams out there. maybe you could critic when you see the actual ICO and thereafter give your expert opinion?

We are seeking for partners to assist in the ICO and not co-conspirators. Smiley

Why do you need 10 million $? Invest your time and deliver your revolutionary project, people will follow, will invest and you will have your millions earned fairly!

With 10 millions $ I can build an oil mining pump station in the fucking ocean! And you need 10 million $ to build a ... crypto currency! Or not even that!

You are ridiculous.

Again, thank you very much for your insights and opinion. We will reserve our comments on what we think about your comments.

Nothing, a scam is a scam no matter what.
It seems like you should see more, because not all ico ends scam, maybe there are some ico ending scam but that is not the size of all ico is a scam, and the reason that make some ico success i think many things and almost everything already mentioned by all answer The person above  Wink

Please show me an ICO that delivered what it promised and remained loyal to all investors.

ICO is an unfair and scammy distribution model, it cannot work.

Lets take any example of an ICO - after they gather 100 millions $, why bother and deliver something, develop something, create when you just pulled out 100 millions dollars out of thin air?

Just create another ICO and that's it! Fools will still invest money, fools never disappear!
