721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could bitcoin be hacked? on: April 24, 2016, 05:55:17 AM
Well depends on your definition of hack.

A pool or mega rich farmer can theoretically scheme to try to get 51% of the total hashrate of bitcoins. This would be a scenario where said entity can control transactions as long as he is in power, or simply try to destroy the network with fake transactions which would be very difficult to reverse after that. Many would say that the possibilty of such an attack is very low as said entity would earn so much more by playing nice.

Meanwhile we forgot about the number of potential paper wallets lost in oblivion because the owner simply does not remember where it was. Or early adopters who simply changed machines and forgot about some "worthless at the time" experiments.

Anyone got -datadir to work? No matter what I try it keeps saying datadir "" not specified

I tried
Code:
C:/PlatinumBar-Qt.exe -datadir "D:/PlatinumBar"
but it still says " datadir "" not specified"

-datadir="your directory"

Haha sort of figured that out after awhile...Now i feel really retarded..Thanks though! I wonder if there are others like me who were not late to the ann but simply wants to wait for block 500

I'm sure there are people waiting for 502+.  We have a few rigs mining at supernova getting things through the anti-instamine blocks, keeping things moving.

One minor problem though, your master node seems like the only connected node, not sure if its just me or for everyone. It might be a problem after a few days

726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Wolf's GBT CPU HODL Miner - Bounty Fund on: April 24, 2016, 05:16:58 AM
Maybe someone needs to release a GPU miner instead.

I doubt we will be seeing a GPU miner any time soon. GPUs do not receive the same bonus for AES instructions as CPUs do with AES-NI. That is not to say it would not be faster, but that it will not see a magnitude of increase on par with Bitcoin or Litecoin and it will require more power.

I'll have fun quoting you if I have time to butcher it with a real implementation Cheesy

Surprise us W0lf Cheesy Would love to see a GPU miner but cant support the bounty

731  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [CHEAP PREMIUM SPOTIFY LIFE TIME ACCOUNTS!] [0,99$] [GOOD] on: April 24, 2016, 03:16:54 AM
UPDATE:

I had a vouch account from this user. It's not lifetime. Cheesy It only lasted for like days (I think), because I just opened my spotify and it says that the username/password is now incorrect. It was not deactivated by Teliasonera but the real owner of this account changed his password. Smiley Be careful having a deal with this user.

Oh well whats new. Most of the cheap digital goods claiming lifetime subscriptions to paid premium accounts like Spotify, netflix are all either resold accounts, hacked accounts, or accounts which are quickly deactivated.
732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How a Exchange site is made? on: April 23, 2016, 04:27:58 PM
It's a damn good question and I wonder this myself.  It seems like Coinbase and Circle are well-regulated by the US.  In other countries it seems the law hasn't caught up yet, and a lot of the exchanges seem to be run by people who have no business running exchanges.  I suspect organized crime and/or clueless tech nerds.

Hmm I prefer the term the law tries to catch up to people exploiting it rather than catching up with tech
733  Local / Mining (India) / Re: is it possible to make profit from 2 AntMiners S7 4.73 Th/s ??? on: April 23, 2016, 03:24:32 PM
I have a nice list for you.

1. Go to the main forum
2. Go to top right of forum
3. Search for "ROI"

Or

1. Open new tab with Google
2. Search for "ROI Calculator for bitcoin" or "BTC ROI CALCULATOR"

Or if you want quick answer, you would probably never roi in time with those two

Look at simulation https://coinplorer.com/Hardware/Simulate/571b92cf226bf414bcefb4ac?key=825a5cc5-2c6a-47f4-887f-aaf6131a2f6c , I assumed your electricity is only $0.01 USD/kWh and you mining for 180 days with difficulty increase of 8% per month
734  Economy / Economics / Re: What was the biggest amount of Bitcoin that you have earned here on forum? on: April 23, 2016, 03:15:57 PM
I earned maximum from the scanning task I've taken up on this forum (0.5-0.55 BTC) and besides that, I earned by selling my gift cards (which is not exactly earning and rather trading and the amount is $350-$400). I am glad that this forum is not only limited to gambling or trading and users can fetch many opportunities to earn bitcoins via freelance tasks as well and even signature campaigns which I have rarely seen on any other forum. I don't believe in gambling as it's just waste of time and money and can't be called a way of earning IMO.

I wonder if its still available or the task is long over, the only one left I could find is the wwii audio transcript task

736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Multi Cryptocoin Wallet? on: April 23, 2016, 02:13:27 AM

The apps have their own data store so it should not clash
737  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Clash Royale account ( on: April 23, 2016, 02:10:45 AM

Trophies : 1599
Arena : 5
Cards found :  42/48 (most of them)
Name change : Available
Acheivements : All unlocked (only "Friend in need" left) .

For what comes to the price , you should offer . (Accepting Bitcoin only)

We need to see
Screenshots of the following

1. GEM / Gold
2. Any chests in storage
3. Clan info?
4. List of troops with levels (screenshots)

Without these 4, all the other info are pretty much a moot point

739  Other / Off-topic / Re: With Steam going to start accepting Bitcoin soon. What do you think will happen? on: April 22, 2016, 11:08:27 AM
What do you think will happen once it accepts Bitcoin, unfortunately, as it won't be holding any Bitcoins at any time, seems like just a convinence to potential users?

Well, i remember reading about this half a year ago and they've yet to start so i guess its all just speculations for now. I guess it would bump up the price of bitcoins a little.

Steamworks Developer Group hints at support really soon
740  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the odds of dice man on: April 22, 2016, 11:04:27 AM
Played on a pretty popular site, lost 67% dice 6 times in a row at least 4 times in the pass hour... What are the freaking odds man

Depends if you mean 67% chance to win or 33% chance to win? The odds are very low but if you are betting many thousands of rolls it will happen.  People win x9900 bets occasionally right which seems like it shouldn't happen but does, its a similar chance perhaps.

Unfortunately 67% to win..
