I am really hot on DarkPayCoin. They are a MN/PoS privacy coin built on solid technology and with a really good team behind the project. They are following an organic growth track with less than 0.1% premine and the bulk of the growth going to those that run Masternodes or Stake their coins. Yes there are a lot of projects, but finding the good ones is just as difficult as it has always been. I reject about 19 projects for everyone I accept. I think you need to keep in mind that these are start ups and that even in the real world the vast majority of start ups end in failure. You also need to know that true success can take years and is not always known when the coin starts trading on the exchange which for too many investors is about as far ahead as they are willing to look.

The reason Cryptocurrencies plunged is because the IMF/WorldBank published a statement that said they are worried that cryptocurrencies pose a systemic risk to financial markets. This is complete nonsense. The entire market for cryptocurrencies is around $200 Billion dollars and no major bank has any serious investment in cryptocurrency on their balance sheets. The real danger for the Banksters is that Cryptocurrency starts to make them irrelevant.

There are just to many things to list that can make an ICO shitty. Instead I will give you a list of the necessary ingredients for a successful ICO.
1) A management team with direct experience in the industry they intend to disrupt as well as blockchain experience.
2) A project that can only be done through the use of the blockchain.
3) It solve a problem within a large market and the problem is significant enough that people will pay to solve it.
4) No more than a 10% discount to early investors and if a bigger discount is made it includes a lock up period.

I think if you are looking for a repeat of 2017 you may be waiting a very long time. I personally think we are unlikely to see the same sort of market euphoria ever again. I think there is still money to be made but it will be individual coins rising and not the entire market and they will not be driven by hype but by real progress and adoption. It is a lot like the Internet Stock bubble in 1999. Its collapse did not mean the end of the internet or companies that used the internet as their business platform. It just meant you had to be more selective to make money by investing in them.

Yes, you see quite a few projects choosing the ICO route because it is percieved to be an easier way to raise capital than traditional crowdfunding or venture capital. But I think we are seeing fewer of them hitting their funding targets this year than last year. It is harder for dumb ideas and obvious cash grabs to get funded as a lot of the "dumb money" has left the crypto space. Ultimately the market is a democracy and if people want to blow their money on dumb ideas I say let them.

Sorry, but if that is a centralised exchange then they are even more vulnerable to hackers. Wallets get hacked when you do dumb things that expose your private key. Exchanges get hacked when people find security vulnerabilities in their code. Personally I trust myself to keep my money secure more than I do third parties.

A lot of the "dumb money" has left the crypto space and you see less "PUUUPM" and MOOOON". Good ICO's are still raising money but the dumb ideas that would have hit their soft cap last year are no longer able to. The people you still see investing are the ones that understand that they are investing in a startup and that thinking this investment will mature before the company has a chance to execute their roadmap is unrealistic.

I am afraid there is no correlation between cryptocurrency price movements and the months of the year. You really need to stop looking for a repeat of 2017. It was a unique one off event based on cryptocurrency being hyped and a lot of unsophisticated investors piling into something they do not understand. I do agree with you that current prices have stabalised and are currently constructing a floor from which to grow. I just think the next bull market will be a lot slower in coming.

I won't invest in or recommend any ICO unless I can verify the existance of team members. It is not a bonus. It is the bare minimum. As was mentioned earlier it will not 100% prevent fraud. There will still be some willing to rip off investors without the anonymity. But it will deter most would-be scammers and also empower those investors that want to hunt down the scammers and see them prosecuted.

As long as people insist on keeping their money on centralised exchanges they will be at risk of losing it to hackers. I have very little sympathy for people who lose money this way. If you are following proper security practices your money will be safe. Only keep your money in a wallet where only you have the keys. People need to start taking some personal responsibility.
