1.Disable Flash on everything but youtube(or anything you deem safe)
2. Disable or delete Java.
3. Don't download cracked programs OR download only those older than 2012 or older.
4. Don't store your wallet on Dropbox.

Follow above steps, and you don't even need to run an anti-virus, which is btw, recommended. You can thank me when your 1btc you kept safe is worth $100k.

5. Encrypt your wallet with a strong password, 10 - 15 chars in length with random characters. Do not store your wallet and password in the same storage
6. Install no-script addon to protect our computer from malicious scripts when visiting untrusted site
Encrypting the wallet does nothing if you install a keylogger. I will let you on a secret. These 3 years, I've never encrypted my wallet, don't even have an anti-virus but my computer is squeaky clean. I just follow those three steps above.
I've also gained the skill of reverse engineering allowing me to peek into the assembly of potentially malicious exes before I run them. I've also thought of implementing custom software to specifically protect from suspicious programs reading wallet.dat or installing keyloggers.

Do you remember what happened last time you asked for this? Your 1btc got stolen. I thought you learned your lesson.

725  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How easy was it to buy Bitcoin back in 2011? on: July 20, 2014, 07:57:54 PM
I remember hearing of bitcoin in 2011, getting excited about it, wanted to buy with paypal..couldn't. Decided I'd wire the money to an exchange to purchase 1000 of them. Then learned that the exchange was some shady looking website named after Magic the Gathering cards. I felt like an idiot for even getting excited about it and went on to forget about it for a long while.

You were at least correct about Mt Gox, it was a scam.
726  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How easy was it to buy Bitcoin back in 2011? on: July 20, 2014, 07:50:48 PM
Bitcoin in 2011 was the best thing ever.
727  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Funny address pair on: July 20, 2014, 07:29:36 PM
I am sorry, I am not quite getting this. RIPEMD160 hash is 160 bits. What's the probability of two addresses having the same RIPEMD160 hash?
728  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My wallet is stolen! (10 BTC) on: July 18, 2014, 12:09:51 PM
OP still hasn't really given us any useful information.
729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Any hits for building a slim blockchain explorer? on: July 18, 2014, 09:05:34 AM
When you say specific addresses, do you mean one or more addresses that will not change throughout your project and which are known beforehand? If its like that, then yeah, you wouldn't need the whole blockchain, but otherwise you do need it.

Reading that bit you posted, makes me want to stack up on Bitcoins, but I am afraid I might be disappointed.
732  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Screen on an Antminer s1 on: July 16, 2014, 04:06:58 AM
Are you not satisfied with the Antminer S1's Web UI? It shows you pretty much everything you want, except maybe some error/debug messages.
733  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HELP ;SOME IS STEALING MY BITCOIN;IT GOT 1 CONFIRMATION!!! 1min ago on: July 16, 2014, 04:01:30 AM
Is the original post a troll? Is the OP playing some sort of backgame?

It doesn't make any sense:

1) How can you lose BTC over the course of 3 years and not do anything?

2) With all that BTC you could have unplugged the CAT5 cable and purchased a clean laptop.

Is it possible that the OP is hoping that people visit the malware website?
I think you didn't get it. He said the scammer has been running his wallet stealer/keylogger for 3 years and has accumulated that many btc from his thefts. OP said he lost 1BTC to him.
734  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and me (Hal Finney) on: July 16, 2014, 03:59:04 AM
Looks like Hal last visited on April 10 2014, since it's been a couple of months I can only assume he won't be able to visit anymore.
735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I lost 10 units of fiat, Bitcoin could have prevented this. on: July 16, 2014, 02:42:51 AM
Credit cards solve this too. Problem if you lose the card you need to pay a fee to make a new one.

And once I lost 10 fiats, only to found then some months later in some pant

Agreed, but a slight inconvenience when shopping with such a card, and I mean in a supermarket, it takes too long, no joke. A line literally forms waiting a few minutes for the transaction to get confirmed, I would only use it in dire situations.

737  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Ive been scammed, someone please help me. on: July 16, 2014, 01:38:49 AM
Just pray that God will judge him accordingly.  That is what I do.

My husband and I had our car stolen.  We were young and had very little money and did not even have enough to get another one at that time.  It was hard.  I felt so violated and I was so ticked off.  I then just prayed that God would deal with the person and then I had peace about it.  That same night I saw on TV two guys that had been stealing the same kind of cars in the LA area ended up crashing into a tree and they died instantly.  Now granted, I am not sure these were the same guys at all, but what I do know from past experience is that God is better at handling these sort of things.  Some people call it Karma.  I just say that God says, "vengeance is mine" and handing things over to Him is an act of trusting Him.  Of course, it would be better if people like this would repent and then give you your money back!  That would be better for everyone involved, or if they never stole anything to begin with.  But unfortunately that is not the world we live in. Sad

You got it , BitChick.  NO ONE escapes Karma.

...And the best revenge is good living.
Funny thing there, I lost 10 units of fiat, but just a week before I did, I found 2 units of fiat on the ground, which I took.
738  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HELP ;SOME IS STEALING MY BITCOIN;IT GOT 1 CONFIRMATION!!! 1min ago on: July 16, 2014, 12:47:57 AM
yes, but even with keylogger, how can he send from my wallet, my pc,where the wallet is, the bitcoin to his computer,to his wallet, even if he knows the password??
Thats how Bitcoin works, you can send Bitcoins to ANYBODY, ANYWHERE so long as there is internet.
739  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HELP ;SOME IS STEALING MY BITCOIN;IT GOT 1 CONFIRMATION!!! 1min ago on: July 16, 2014, 12:42:24 AM
since 2011 he is stealing bitcoins ,till now 390 i see in blockexplorer.bitcoin is really very unsecure.
but how he can send from my wallet to his wallet the btc? how is that possible.
my btc is with password also
It's called a VIRUS/MALWARE/KEYLOGGER. Also if you used an insecure password, or just a few characters it can be cracked.

Bitcoin isn't insecure, your computer was, you said it yourself, your anti-virus was not active.
740  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HELP ;SOME IS STEALING MY BITCOIN;IT GOT 1 CONFIRMATION!!! 1min ago on: July 16, 2014, 12:37:18 AM
i downloaded this from here, and clicked on it,while my virus program was not activ.i just wanted to see

http://thedonhacks.blogspot.co.at/2013/04/flipcoincheat-v28.html
Thats the reason right there. That .exe was very likely, a wallet stealer/keylogger.

i found the virus what i downloaded today, will it bring anything if i look in it?,its an exe malware

Can you give us the link or the website name from which you downloaded the exe so others might be warned and we can report it to phishing site so at-least theres a warning if someone else visits it.
He already did, look above.
