To survive for a long time in Nigeria there are some essentials that you must consider, we usually have personal boreholes and do not depend on the government for water supply as well as gas for cooking, Electricity has never been constant so PMS in drums(if possible) is a must have to power your borehole most importantly first. If you plan surviving for a long time keeping foodstuffs that need refrigerating or be kept frozen may be a bad idea as it will mean that you PMS is at the risk of finishing faster. Gambling may be part of Chinese culture but I don’t see it compulsory for everyone. That is why even if the Communist party has banned gambling, there is still a city left where all gamblers are safe to engage in their pursuit. If USA goes to a civil war I do not expect to survive that.
