Tornando in topico!

722  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Merit] Share your best posts/threads with Fillippone to be merit assessed on: January 25, 2024, 01:12:06 PM

Yes I admit I broke the rules, and I'm sorry.
Later I accidentally missed two posts in the same week. I'm getting it right.
Thank you for pointing out my mistake.
@Just Say Thanks bro...

Opps, I accidentally messed up these two rules below. It was a pure mistake buddy.  Tongue I hope everyone understands that! You have sharp eyes mate. Even I didn't noticed that until you mentioned me.

Anyway, what page are you on now fillippone? I mean the progress. Just asking. And about my mistake submission, you can just ignore it or judge it, as you wish. Just let me know the result of your evaluation.

EDIT: Fixed my submission, removed 2 posts.

Guys,
No drama.
In case someone brakes the rules, I assume good faith, unless blatant careless (then I have my ignore-enter-only-list always available).
Just delete the post, and eventually resubmit in the correct way.

Regarding my review process, it’s easy to see where I an up meriting as I usually mark the “completed” submissions with a single merit. I should now be around page 47 if I am not wrong.

Bitcoin negative in 2024:

  • ETF
  • Halving
  • FED Rates CUT
  • US Presidential Election
  • US Fiscal Complacency

That could be a true disappointment, frankly. Yes, stacking more sats, but disappointing.
724  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: [Voting 2023] Bitcointalk Community Awards ? [Topic Discussione in Italiano] on: January 24, 2024, 10:56:08 PM

725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everything you wanted to know about Grayscale BTC Trust but were afraid to ask! on: January 24, 2024, 10:50:00 PM

Speaking about legal fights, I read a very interesting take from Alistair Milne:

This is a very interesting one, and it explains a lot about the current state of things and even why some irrational decisions were made about fees.
The bad news is that apparently a lot of selling is yet to be expected.
726  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Merit] Share your best posts/threads with Fillippone to be merit assessed on: January 24, 2024, 01:35:40 PM
Easy guys.
While I appreciate help in spotting errors in this thread, I also appreciate this being constructive help between users in order to correct misinterpretations of the rules in order to maximise the number of merits.

I do not like police reports, I like community help. So I would appreciate a more relaxed and friendly approach when discussing issues between readers of this thread.

As far as rules are concerned, of course local boards are allowed and welcome. I only frown posts in a forbidden board (e.g. Altcoin) in a local board.

727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everything you wanted to know about Grayscale BTC Trust but were afraid to ask! on: January 24, 2024, 12:18:05 AM
ftx had over $1b hidden away in GBTC shares

If my back-of-the-envelope computations are correct, this sale was all their GBTC stash, and none is left.

They still own a tiny amount of ETHE, but as far as Bitcoin is concerned, they shouldn't be done.
Do you know any resource I can check to prove my stretchy math?

728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everything you wanted to know about Grayscale BTC Trust but were afraid to ask! on: January 24, 2024, 12:09:13 AM
update(at time of post) GBTC holdings 566,973btc
edit:
update(time of post +14 hours) blackrock holdings 33,430.57btc

update(as of 22nd jan)
GBTC holdings 552,681btc
blackrock holdings 39,925btc

Wondering how much more outflows GBTC will get.
My spider sense gets that we are maybe halfway from the total exit. So, after a little more than another week of suffering, the "9" will finally prevail.
Or is it just wishful thinking and GBTC will deplete all its stash?

729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everything you wanted to know about Grayscale BTC Trust but were afraid to ask! on: January 23, 2024, 12:11:44 AM
I suggest that we retire this thread. There is no longer anything unique about GBTC, now that it is an ETP and there are a dozen others just like it.

GBTC is pretty unique so far.

  • It is the only ETF trading at a discount to NAV, while the others are actually mainly trading at a premium.
  • It is by far the most lightly priced of the bunch in terms of bid/ask spread
  • It is by far the most liquid of the bung, with volumes racking up to 50% of daily turnover

There is a point in entering Grayscale, even if its fees are astonishingly high when compared to the others.

Meraviglie numeriche  Grin

731  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: BITCOIN PUMP! on: January 21, 2024, 11:14:39 PM

The lack of ability to facilitate in-kind creations and redemptions of Shares could have adverse consequences for the Trust.

732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everything you wanted to know about Grayscale BTC Trust but were afraid to ask! on: January 21, 2024, 04:59:29 PM
what if i told you maybe grayscale wants to bleed. after all DCG have some legal issues with gemini and dont want to be holding a bag of coin they have to hand back to gemini. which would then cause de-pegging.

Coins held by Grayscale are not in Grayscale availability; those are the client's funds and cannot be transferred to DCG as part of the settlement process.
Maybe Grayscale could sell his entire business to fidelity to pay off his debt, but this is a completely different scenario.

New pic

Looks the same pattern of Atlantis the Palm, yet the extension of this is by far greater than the ones I see in the website. Alo the Atlantis in Bahamas has a very similar Pattern... so there is a chance it is not that one.
735  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: January 21, 2024, 10:28:35 AM
Very well done my friend.
Very nice overview. Thank you for this invaluable work, you made with great effort and great quality.

Local board rocks. Now we raised the bar and we need to keep the ball rolling in 2024!
A s far as the Italian board is concerned, we see ample room for improvement, and we are trying to fill this gap to the potential.

Post activity per local board during 2023

During the last year 214527 posts were made across 18 local boards/communities, which is decent increase compared to the previous year's numbers (193837).
<…>

Merit shared per local board during 2023

Even though number of posts decreased, that didn't happen with merit;.

<…>

Merit/Post ratio per local board for 2023

Despite the drop of the post number and increase of the merits shared,

I see some inconsistencies here.

Change of location

Where the dude @
Hoping it’s not to easy this time

OK, a shot in the dark: Madrid.

EDIT: This is a hard one. The modern cobblestones mixed with those aged stone blocks... Could be somewhere in Spain/Italy, maybe France. I'm sure it's somewhere in Europe.

The absolute lack of gums spat on the floor make me think it is not Italy.
Instead this makes me think about Singapore? Being also closer to last Dude location…
737  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: L'halving è alle porte on: January 20, 2024, 11:59:13 PM

I found this little new website called www.solochance.com.
There, you can plug your Hashpower, and find out the computations, updated in real-time, about the chances of finding a block:

Funny.
I just discovered you need 18,000 s21 to expect to mine a block a day.
