721  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AvalonMiner 921 released - 20 TH/s @ 1800W on: December 29, 2018, 08:35:50 PM
A920 is part of the flash sale, confirmed by Lily.

A921 is out of stock. A851 is the only other available option from Canaan.
722  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AvalonMiner 921 released - 20 TH/s @ 1800W on: December 29, 2018, 04:51:43 PM
So 20th at 2050w is potential max draw?

I will pm you to not take your thread too far off topic.

Essentially mikey is saying you need to ensure static pressure.
724  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: GMO miner B2: 7NM mining within reach? on: December 29, 2018, 06:19:14 AM
Funny how the GMO thread has turned philosophical in a sense.

More manufacturers allow for decentralization. Essentially you have to look at it like a free market; more competition, more innovation and progression towards a better product in this case.

Zero competition, or a single manufacturer; leads to poor and selfish, "un"-innovative business practices. Shadow mining/extended "burn in testing" is one example. Essentially manufacturers kill the market they desire by mining. Lower the difficulty, the more profits, the more attractive their product.

It's a balance you rarely see or have seen in this area as these are just two extremes of the spectrum to provide relevance.
725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Acorn M.2 FPGA based GPU Accelerator on: December 29, 2018, 05:03:11 AM
I'm interested in playing with these but seems my poor software ability will be a hindrance.
726  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 8 official specs released on: December 29, 2018, 04:43:14 AM
Finally got to my draw check on the two 821's I updated. Together hashing 20TH at 1970w on an apw5.
727  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AvalonMiner 921 released - 20 TH/s @ 1800W on: December 29, 2018, 04:38:53 AM
Sexy. We'll get a listing up shortly.

Duties should only be applied to the unit cost not shipping. Who's your shipping service?
729  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: first s9 13.5 pool recommendations on: December 28, 2018, 09:52:47 PM
Slush wont payout multiple times a day but will find blocks multiple times a day one s9 you might get a payout without added fee in addition to the 2% taken out in 2 weeks. I would recommend ckpool.org myself but payouts are will be slower closer to a month but zero fees.
730  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: GMO miner B2: 7NM mining within reach? on: December 28, 2018, 03:59:12 PM
Lack of capital imo, monies were refunded. Hard to have a lengthy pre order when consumers know competitors will be coming out with gear and will certainly match or beat spec with earlier release dates.
731  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Innosilicon Terminator 3 on: December 27, 2018, 09:47:26 PM
First batch had a late Jan release from what I recall.
732  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 8 official specs released on: December 26, 2018, 10:23:12 PM
I ordered some equipment to monitor power draw. Hoping to update when some things slow down.

Merry Christmas to you too, welcome to the pool!
734  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac Stickminer Official Support Thread on: December 26, 2018, 10:19:20 PM
Yea, not all SD cards are the made the same. I would look at an A1 or A2 rated MicroSD if you're using it for more than file storage. I run a full node on a 256 microSD with zero issues.
735  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 8 official specs released on: December 25, 2018, 01:23:24 AM
Yea, your thread has been pretty a good read. Hope to upgrade while the flash sale is rolling.
736  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will btc difficulty go sideways for rest of the year? on: December 25, 2018, 01:21:35 AM
Market shift is helping bring hash back. S9's are more profitable at higher power rates. I think at my $0.10 rate I'm "profiting" 0.13/day. Then I'm mining and holding.

I'm wondering with the talk of pulling $BTC from exchanges and hot wallets on Jan 3rd, with less $BTC in market in a few days if we'll see a price surge with the added scarcity. there are still a lot of miners who mine to a pool or directly to an exchange or hot wallet. Myself including till this summer.

edit: of course market dips when I post numbers.

Looks good. My father in law brought me 1.75L of bourbon. Maybe that will help hit a block, or two, or three?%
738  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My Avalon A921 is on the way on: December 23, 2018, 02:32:33 AM
Good to know if I'm able to upgrade soon. Hopefully the group buy I'm in fills out.
739  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Rumor that Bitmain is going belly up! can't pay its chip builder! on: December 22, 2018, 10:08:58 PM
Price, Tariffs and shipping make it cost prohibitive.

De minimis value makes these cost effective still. we've provided a cadence for shipments that works for large orders for buyers.
740  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Rumor that Bitmain is going belly up! can't pay its chip builder! on: December 22, 2018, 04:32:36 PM
You can still get s9's from bitmain. They're just reluctant to advertise it.
