I ran the new 64 bit linux wallet but it shows the older version not the 0.9.0 version.

Where does it say it is not 0.9.0.0?

"About Vertcoin"

Vertcoin version v0.8.7.3-beta

So this is qt? I'll check it out.

Yes. The qt version posted a few pages back.

I don't mind duckduckgo.

I also use startpage, privateLee, and metaGer.
725  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I really want this watch but it's too much on: December 03, 2014, 04:42:28 AM
Could be a great investment. Buy one. Don't use it. Resell it in ten years for one hundred times the price.
726  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you buy movies online? on: December 02, 2014, 03:19:14 AM
I love the theater experience if it is a good special effects movie. Worth every penny.

It does not appear pirating has hurt the industry much. They are still pulling in millions of dollars for each big budget release. The actors are still being paid millions to be in them. Iron Man 3 grossed 1.2 billion for movie tickets alone. Downey was paid 75 million.

I feel sorry for the films made by small studios and individuals. Pirating hurts these the most.
727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Moolah Scam on Mintpal - MintpalJustice.com - Report Missing Funds on: December 02, 2014, 02:56:39 AM
I still hold those Darkcoins, still not much progress in this case until now. I have questions that are not answered yet when I tried to reach  Ferdous or Moolah on Twitter like how many Darkcoins are lost? how many are the Darkcoins people still requested but did not get it until now? & how long this going to take what if something happens to me and I still have these coins since no one is claiming it?

Relax. You have not done anything wrong. There is no way of knowing or proving who got darkcoins and who did not.

It is my belief none of this will ever be sorted out.

Hang on to the coins for a year or two. If nothing happens by then keep them, spend them, or give them to a charity. What else can you do?

Many would say: "Do not look a gift horse in the mouth" but I applaud you for your integrity.
728  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Was I just Scammed? (Chris Dunn) on: December 01, 2014, 08:50:09 PM
Sounds like a pump&dump group to me.

They buy up cheap coin. Trigger a pump. The flock gets in ' early ' to buy up the group's coins. Sweet.

You might make money if you get in and out early enough.
729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DigiByte Receives $250,000 USD Investment, Opens Global Offices on: December 01, 2014, 08:33:26 PM
Do you really need someone to "fund" your project knowing there free resources on the internet?

It is a VERY big accomplishment to get a private company to invest in a cryptocurrency. This gives Digibyte a lot of credibility.

Well done Digibyte!

Can you please define trolling for me?  I mean I get trolling religious nuts or right wingers or whatever to try and piss ppl off for no readon.

But I don't understand how I'm trolling?  How is having negative opinions trolling?  If I was gonna troll I would do it different

Plz define trolling for me and how I've done it .

And also why it's so evil.   With the godawful amounts of scams floating around trolling (quick I don't do) seems like a pretty innocent activity in comparison

Anyone who asks pertinent questions or makes relevant comments in this thread is labeled a troll or fudster.

Point out a flaw or make any criticism in this thread and you are called a troll or fudster.

You have half a dozen fanboys jumping on anyone who voices something different than the cult dogma.

Trolls and fudsters did not kill this coin. The cult did.

Btw. I'm a Xc bagholder.

bawahahaha suks to be you.

Thank Christ its a small bag.  Wink . I've wrote if off under "entertainment value".

732  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Google Voice Account - Your personal USA Phone Number - $1 on: December 01, 2014, 05:01:20 PM
I tried for years using various methods found on the web and always failed. Lots of wasted time.

I was pleased when I found people doing it for basically .... free. $1.00 ... no hassle ... works for me.

Great service!

Lets say, if I am based in the US. How do I register for google voice accounts?
Wouldn't it be by verifying a mobile that I have
by getting a confirmation code sent to it?

If you have a US mobile number, I think you are golden. Google catches on to the freebie voip numbers.

734  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cheapest way for Canadians to buy Bitcoins? on: November 30, 2014, 11:20:33 PM
If you are going to play around with bitcoin forget the Canadian exchanges. They are ok to cash out with if you can supply a selfie of yourself coming out of your mother's womb.

Cavirtex is getting sued for 880 thousand dollars I hear so who knows when/if the "we got hacked" story will come out.

The others have such little volume you will pay a higher price for coin.

Just as easy or easier to get verified at the big guys and pay less. Bitstamp, Kraken, btc-e, cryptsy, etc.

There is a thread devoted to exchange reviews.

736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Auroracoin scam now official on: November 29, 2014, 10:45:03 PM
this is just insane and thats the reason of crypto downfall. Never seen so much scams  Roll Eyes

If you listen to some people you would never have invested in that once it was out.
Like in the real world its unwise to invest in something you don't understands.

you don't seem to understand the problem here....its not users stupidity, its the number of scams is now so great that it will shake the bitcoin foundation and send all this market to hell, ruin crypto, and btc will be worth 0.000001$

might as well trade in TF2 keys

I agree. The scams are killing altcoins, and bitcoin to a lesser degree.

This is also proving decentralized currencies do not work. Look at bitcoin hacking, scams, and thievery. Decentralized = license to steal.

I hate to say it but our banking and monetary systems exist for a reason - we trust them. I know my fiat is safe in the bank. I know it will be there tomorrow and the day after despite robbery and hacking.

Until the ordinary person can own and use cryptocurrencies with the same sense of security they do using their bank, cryptocurrencies will continue to die off.

I've weaned myself off trading altcoins. The old ones have lost value and the new ones have a week of glory then die.  A good coin today can be killed off tomorrow by Fud or scam. Its just too risky now. By the looks of the markets others must feel the same.
737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Auroracoin scam now official on: November 29, 2014, 06:42:36 PM
Link is authentic by the way, even though it's an one post newbie.

Wasn't the Aurora coin some New Yorker?  Same guy who created the Maple Coin and other obvious scam $hitcoins earlier in the year.

AnonymousPirate was in on Mazacoin and then went on to Maple and god-only-knows how many more.

Aurora kicked off a wave of country coins most of which were shitcoins. I don't think it was the same team.
738  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Help - I was hacked - 63.73 BTC - Blockchain.info secured by 2FA on: November 28, 2014, 05:08:07 PM
Blockchain does have the withdrawal password option if I remember right. Don't they also have an on screen keyboard that would defeat a keylogger?
739  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Google Voice Account - Your personal USA Phone Number - $1 on: November 28, 2014, 07:08:00 AM
Bought two accounts with the user names I wanted. Terrific customer service! Thanks.
740  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Help - I was hacked - 63.73 BTC - Blockchain.info secured by 2FA on: November 28, 2014, 05:08:26 AM
Why the hell doesn't blockchain info have sms verification for withdrawals? Does anyone? Seems it would save a lot of thievery.

Lots of apps for sms. Google phone number on another device should be pretty effective if one does not have a smart phone.

I cleared out my blockchain account a while back. Might keep a small amount there in the future if they revamp their security.

I would steer clear of Tor for anything sensitive like accessing your email or banking. Its ok for cruising piratebay and flashyourrack if you are at work.

Sorry for the OP's loss.
