We want silkcoin to be long term, so we're not afraid of the 5 days dump that will occur and big price variations. Imagine how much people will have a silkcoin wallet when we reach last phase..

Remember 2 hours after launch we got 1000 diff, integrated into Bittrex and all mutlipools dumping as hell and we still got a lot of buy support, about 80 BTC volume the night of launch.

So yes it's pretty sure the price will drop, but with the promo and this second phase imagine how much people will open the wallet, this is the main point : reaching as much people as possible because when they open the wallet for the first time it's always the same reaction  (and in a month the wallet will be even better). That's also why we're doing a lot of giveways by the way.

Last phase is going to be epic.
And once we reach this phase we already got plans to fully use the potential of full POS with applications in the wallet that will keep people interested, and with their wallet open.


On another subject, we'll be realeasing a new version of the wallet with a few upgrades very soon  and we're all back to work, yesterday was the first night off for the team since launch.

Oh and I just read about the error you got (5-6 messages up).
Silkcoin-QT is now a static linked executable so all you need is the exe, nothing else! No need for all the files you're showing.

And the error you got comes from a corrupted blockchain so yes deleting the contents of appdata/silkcoin (except the wallet!) was indeed the good solution  .
I'm commenting just so you know the exe can be put anywhere alone, it will still work since it's static.

We just got integrated in hashcows, you can now mine with SC payout !

In settings->options you can set Reservebalance (it's the amount you don't want to stack)
In settings->options->display you can tick coin control, so you can control what coin you send (don't send old coins)
In settings you can unlock wallet for stacking only if you encrypted it.

If you have coins older than 12 hours, then you'll start to stack and you can see current staking status hovering the lightning icon.
But beware this is the "expected" time, it can be shorter or longer, as in POW blocks.

For starters go hover the lightning icon and read what it says .

Yea mac version needs some UI rework, our devs work on linux and we don't have any mac to test, only windows  .

We're in POS phase there's no more POW blocks to be mined .

As for the mac wallet, it seems it works well for most people but it's still the old version so you won't enjoy the latest features. New mac version will be compiled soon!

Indeed pressure is building, and there was a lot of attention on Darkcoin yesterday pushing all the money in it but silkcoin kept stable!
By the way we're eager to see Darksend in action to see if it would be a possible fit to replace zerocoin which main downside is the "kind of" centralization with the masterkey.

Thanks for the support and yea website needs a little work, i'm currently updating a few things, it's true it have been left aside since launch. When we'll have more time we'll do a cleaner interface.

We thought about that for a long time, but you know for us , POW phase is not that important, what matters is the POS phase.
But we needed the POW phase to avoid an IPO, and the fact that multipools and big farms mine this coin is not that bad since it's all redistributed through exchanges at low prices.

Yes the price will suffer during POW phases but as stated our objective is the POS phase. And even with scrypt, because coins being massively sold, we are getting a good distribution just look at the volume of Silkcoins traded per 24 hours since POW started-.
Remember both phases are 5-6 days mining, even if there is a lot of dump during these periods as long as there are believers and people to buy back from them we'll be okay, as will distribution.

Anyway this is just my point of view, the subject is not closed feel free to speak your mind, but also we'd really want to avoid a change like this, it's really not good for the coin, if we wanted X11 we should've launched it with X11 but changing now feels a bit wrong.
