721  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who is the most powerful politician? on: March 12, 2015, 08:22:39 AM
Definitely Obama. I mean, who else could make Kim Jong Un fire rockets in anger and threaten nuclear war every year during U.S and South Korea joint military exercises?
722  Other / Meta / Re: Does Bitcointalk have traffic problems? The forum is loading very slow. on: March 12, 2015, 08:11:26 AM
Here in the U.S, it's totally fine. Might just be you.
723  Economy / Speculation / Re: To become a whale... on: March 12, 2015, 08:10:30 AM
With just 10-50 BTC, you can be a whale on most alt coins which in turn, you could even become a bitcoin whale with your huge gains from altcoins.
724  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is an imaginary concept, but humanity is enslaved by it on: March 12, 2015, 08:09:03 AM
Fiat literally changes because of supply and demand. This is why we have forex.

Now to answer the thread title, money was created in the place of trades. Remember when people used to trade animals for other food or jewelry and such? That's basically now, but instead through a piece of paper with a number on it.
725  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 29% Discount - Cloudminr on: March 12, 2015, 08:06:27 AM
You do realize that this is the economics section right? This doesn't belong here. It should be in the service offering or announcements.
726  Economy / Economics / Re: What if the necessity of use outweighs the desire of gold? on: March 12, 2015, 08:05:09 AM
If bitcoin were as volatile and liquid as gold, we wouldn't run into this problem. Bitcoin won't be able to keep its value until mass adoption happens and we see the true price of Bitcoin.

These are some really cool coins, I love how the rolls are branded, may pick some up soon.

Thanks, TheGr33k. We always loved that little touch too.

Nice coins shame they wouldn't be accepted in shops. Maybe would be good if shops accepted them and some sort of hologram on them that has the coin in them and also public private key accessible for them to use or transfer value from. Would be good for a coin storage too Smiley

Thank you for the ideas, crazyearner. We always appreciate when someone shares their "two cents." (Forgive me. Bad puns are my weakness.)   Grin

It definitely was, but I am truly interested in buying probably a roll. What's the price?

Just checking.  Wink The price for the roll (of 40 coins) is $99.99, and forum members who pay in bitcoin receive free US shipping or reduced international shipping. When you're ready, just shoot me a PM with the total order and shipping address (US or International), and I'll reply ASAP.

Best Regards,
Christopher

I would like to ask how much it would cost to ship to Alaska. I know it may be a bit more than sending to the other states.
728  Economy / Economics / Re: One-world reserve currency inevitable and will enslave all nations? on: March 12, 2015, 07:45:01 AM
Nope, but it would probably enslave Russia. Just look at what happened to the Ruble!
729  Economy / Gambling / Re: Has anyone here ever made money gambling with BTC? on: March 12, 2015, 07:43:52 AM
I remember once watching a video of some member of Primedice who made 2k bitcoins in one session. If anyone could remember the name, please write it here.

That would be "Hufflepuff" and I believe the video you watched is this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSLXv5Tz1ZY.

Yes. Thanks Coef. This is what amazed me. Another, much smaller rally that I've seen was by a guy named Trolljegerman who left his computer on betting for 2 hours on Moneypot at 2.25x He ended up with a 50 bitcoin gain.
730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It Possible to Insure Bitcoin Technology? on: March 12, 2015, 07:40:25 AM
You can't really insure bitcoin. There is Volatility in price, risk of hacks, and possible accidental memory loss resulting in total loss of all your bitcoins.

My bank accounts are insured to cover any losses, my home/car/bike etc can all be insure against theft, why can't bitcoin?
As long as you can prove that they were stolen and that you had taken adequate precautions (this is where the insurance companies will screw us!) then it seems completely fair to expect reimbursement through an insurance policy.  I bet the premiums would be high to start with though.

This is exactly why it's harder. All those things you talked about there are PHYSICAL things. Money itself is physical. Now covering a virtual currency that technically shouldn't have any value wouldn't be possible until they do pass some things in congress that would decrease said variables.
731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone Knows Hump The Bundle Porn Site? on: March 12, 2015, 07:37:41 AM
Ever heard of XXXcoin or Titcoin?

Yeah. I guess those were stepping stones in something like this. In fact, I think that some porn sites already accept bitcoin

733  Economy / Services / Re: Are you good at League? on: March 12, 2015, 07:26:53 AM
Why not buy those .50 cent accounts that 50ounce brew guy is selling and use it to boost your rank?
734  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All property and money taken because of miners?! (Ireland) on: March 12, 2015, 07:21:57 AM
I would say that 23 miners isn't a different story, it is the story.

My guess, they saw your power consumption, got a warrant thinking you had a grow operation, and took the hard drivesooking for evidence. You can hopefully sort it all out by talking to them.

One other, worse, scenario is that someone you know knows you're mining and they stole the drives in search of your wallets. That makes less sense, as they probably would have taken the whole conputers, not just the drives.

The fact that they took the miners already ruled out the first choice. I recommend OP to call it in and see if he had been raided. You'll either be in deep shit, or have a police report to file.
735  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Scam Alert! Latest Ponzi Collapses -- BE AWARE before BLOWING your funds! on: March 12, 2015, 07:16:30 AM
I still can't believe weeklyponzi is still alive. It's just a matter of time till it collapses.

Tell that to that guy who got arrested from Localbitcoins.
738  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bought my first 0.18 bitcoin! on: March 12, 2015, 06:25:02 AM
Now hold those bitcoin for a later date when they're worth more. I would suggest putting them in cold storage if you are going to do that.

Cold storage is added security.
739  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I Would Like BitcoinWare to Makes Things Right. on: March 12, 2015, 06:20:46 AM
Just to be clear, the problem with this order is 1) that you think they're not new, and 2) that some of the boards came lose during shipping?

He thinks that the company actually took them out of the boxes and tested them which is most likely a lie. It's gotta be dropshipped.
740  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: more member looking for the site accept btc payment !!!!! on: March 12, 2015, 12:30:02 AM
Please change the title to:

"Our site accepts BTC payments and we are looking for more customers!!!"

The OP definitely doesn't know proper English. It won't help.
