721  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Emdee tiamiyu is a wrong Nigerian representative on: May 24, 2023, 05:46:57 PM
Hello my people I greet all of una, I know many of us go done see that BBC interview of emdee the YouTuber who just made his way to the UK not too long ago, I don't know how una feel about they interview but from my opinion that was a Nigerian painting the image of Nigeria to the world poorly.

Firstly I am still yet to understand why he who isn't an ambassador of Nigeria to the UK get such an interview on the BBC station e real shock me, although the news on Twitter is that due to the interview the UK has stopped Nigerian from coming into the US paying attention to those who are coming with student visa.

I don't think the interview cause that one, the UK must have been nursing the idea and that interview can just increase their desire to do so, regardless for a Nigerian to speak about Nigerian like that is really embarrassing.
I believe we all expect everyone who goes out of the country should try to uplift the image of Nigeria but we can't assure that, this is another story of a Nigerian polluting the image of the country.
722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: STAGNATION OF BITCOIN PRICE FOR WEEKS on: May 24, 2023, 04:43:00 PM
I would say this is better than seeing a drop! If I take an example of the stock market, usually it stabilizes for couple of days/weeks before taking a leap. It is making the foundation stronger with demand and supply stability. That's exactly what's happening in crypto market now.

There is a huge amount of uncertainty around the world. That's why we are seeing gold prices are constantly increasing. Among this turmoil, if bitcoin price is showing signs of stability, that's certainly good.
The crypto-currency market still follows the demand and supply curves just like most commodities, that's the major or primary factor, but there are still other sub factors like news, speculation this factors are louded by FOMO (fear of missing out) and FUD (Fear uncertainty and doubt) it can either lead to panic buy or panic sell which always affect crypto-currency prices.

I think the price of Bitcoin and many other coins would be more stable if the news and speculation can be put in check, but that's not going to be completely possible and in most alts whales manipulate the market true their actions, one off biggest joy now is that the forth coming halving would be a good news so we may see a positive drive in the market.
723  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Start a lending business on: May 24, 2023, 02:27:00 PM
The restrictions are mostly meant for those who want to take the loan
Here is a proper analysis of what you are required to have ad know to becoming a lender.
Quote
General good practices:
  • Lending used to only require some sort of "proof of reputation" (anything from a long post history, ID, or Web of Trust stats to a full credit report) from lendees. Due to an exceptionally high incidence of scamming, this is generally no longer the case. You generally MUST put up some form of collateral (usually some type of alternative cryptocurrency, like Litecoin or Quark). This depends heavily on the lender, and physical collateral may also be accepted (motorcycles, watches, PMs).
  • Please refrain from requesting unnecessary "confidence loans" (a loan you don't need, but want to take out simply to show you'll repay). This was an issue a year or so ago, where scammers would take out incrementally larger loans, pay maybe .1BTC in interest, then take off with a 1BTC loan. A history of so-called confidence loans inspire more hesitancy than confidence.
  • This subforum has an exceptionally high amount of trolling. Legitimate lendees are scared away or simply don't care to subject themselves to unjustified degradation. Skepticism is okay, but please try to be civil. Either way - if you request a loan, be prepared.
  • Almost all loans issued in this subforum would be at rates considered to be exploitative in most countries. We're talking about something like 5-15% monthly (there are some more favorable alternatives, such as seeking out the Islamic Bank of Bitcoin). Use short-term loans responsibly, do not use loans for naked market positions or otherwise attempt to arb, and you should only use short-term lending from strangers as an absolute last resort.
Also the lending business especially in the crypto-currency sector and also not collecting collateral can be a very risky business which you should also secure yourself, I think you should atleast learn more about the lending scams and this post can help you on that.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?,topic=119896.msg1291483#msg1291483

I have been on the forum for a while now and although there are many lenders people rather go with those who has good reputation for me my best option is Darkstar, well you can always try your luck in the business.
724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing my new Bitcoin book: Orange Pill'd on: May 23, 2023, 06:30:46 PM
It's kinda impudently to register there and promote your book right from the start without even trying to look like you're a part of the community.
I don't think it's an impudent. I find nothing wrong in some bringing up a book that's crypto-currency related for the community to see, infact I am eager to read the book and gain from it if there are things there for me to gain, I think his approach is very honest, he claimed ownership of the book, he would have easily said here is a book he is expecting and give us an intro to it and you won't be saying he was promoting his book.

Knowledge of Bitcoin and trying to help expose us to helpful stuffs like in this case his book should go beyond ranks, time on the forum or level so long as the OP sticks to the rules, my personal suggestions is for the op to read the rules and other helpful beginners post first.
725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not be pulled by the hype of meme coins on: May 23, 2023, 06:12:27 PM
These meme coins ride with hype and the community and you are right about this. But I don't think they will make people rich, only early investors and their owners make money out of them. I don't think they have a strong community like other altcoins but people who want quick money will get involved in them.
The major source memecoin feeds from is hype, this is what keeps them afloat, right from the Time doge coin blew up all thank to the influence of Elon musk, and the hype that was generated through it. Although doge coin is one memecoin that has still tried to remain solid even though it can reach the height it had reached previously.

Coins like Pepe now seeing some degree of success this is the benefits of FOMO (fear of missing out) created by their community and has captured many pushing them into the project, the negative side of this is that some people would be affected negatively by this in the long run, any project that has not long term assurance should not be a fancy to anyone.
726  Economy / Economics / Re: US Debt Default: Good or bad for crypto? on: May 23, 2023, 05:24:54 PM
There are talks among US politicians and economists about the country defaulting on its national debt. Congress usually approves raising the debt ceiling, so I don't see what's the issue here. But if somehow the US defaults, how would the crypto market react? Positively or negatively? The USD is the reserve currency of the world, so it's likely everything (stocks, crypto, etc) will crash alongside it.

What do you think? Is a US default good or bad for crypto in the short term? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley
I am still trying to understand how an effect on the USD would affect the crypto-currency space? Yes USD is the general standard for value, the only effect it would have in crypto-currency market is the crypto dollar value.
Coins like the stable coin which is pegged on the US dollars would definitely be affected in value because it takes the value of the US dollars.

But in terms of stocks, and even other countries currency an effect on the US dollars would also affect them, I think that's why the decentralized system need to be in place to prevent the global control of the US dollars or any other currencies .
727  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When to buy - A look into the future of BTC !? on: May 23, 2023, 03:19:28 PM
What you mentioned is a good and real assumption when viewed from history. However, my view is just general - there are always investment opportunities in the money market world and there are no time and event limits if you really want to enter the market and start an investment journey, of course not carelessly. because capital and time and mind are at stake here.  So when are good times to buy? the answer is the best time to buy really depends on each individual's personal goals, risk tolerance, and the investment strategy that he will use later.
If we that missed Bitcoin in 2009 had the power to go back in time then I believe we would all have gone back to 2009 and definitely invest in Bitcoin we a good amount of money we have, but in reality that's not the case, we can turn back the hands of time neither can we keep regretting missing Bitcoin at that time, the next best time is starting now, although the profits of those who bought Bitcoin back then and still holding up till now would be more regardless of that we would still make good profit in the long run if your reason for joining crypto-currency is mainly for investment purposes.

I don't think there is a better time to invest rather it's best to know
#What you want to buy
#amount of Capital you have
#your time frame for the investment

These are amongst factors you should consider more when trying to invest in crypto-currency especially what you want to buy, If I was asked I would always go for Bitcoin.
728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wife discovers husband's hidden Bitcoin during divorce proceeding on: May 22, 2023, 08:31:28 PM
Well if in the case of the PSG footballer Hakim he had been keeping his earning in accounts and properties that bore the name of his mother which in the law was enough to be written off as not his then I think that system should work in this case.

If he has the 12 BTC on centralized exchange one that requires KYC to open then this may not work but a personal wallet like Ethereum he can claim that the wallet isn't his and then push ownership to his well trusted person, I don't know how the law works in terms of sharing of properties after divorce but it shouldn't be also comprising of someone's crypto-currency holdings.
729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The unforseen and likely occurrence in the Bitcoin space on: May 22, 2023, 07:36:30 PM
Saving the Bitcoin from attack of hackers, scammers start from personal activity this is the primary process which would have a resounding successful effect,
This personal activities are actually not complex.
#Do not save your funds on exchange
#Avoid phishing links, malwares, suspicious google Ads.
# put away greed.
# protect your private keys and adopt additional protections like 2FA.

I think simple habits like this can go along way in tackling of those dangers hackers and scammers poses,

But one big problem I think crypto-currency may experience would come from the government, the decentralized system would definitely evolve in years to ce and also get stronger I believe the government from leading counties would try to get control of crypto-currency the best way they can this would be among the issues we may face (although we are facing this problem now I think it would get worse in future)
730  Other / Archival / Re: Best exchanges? I've been trading on this one for 2 weeks. on: May 22, 2023, 07:12:12 PM
Mexc Global is a good exchange, but there are other exchanges that are having good services too. If it is no KYC exchange, there are still some too, like Kucoin.

You make profit from trading, not because of the exchanges that you you are using.

I will advice people not to trade with many altcoins because altcoins are like gambling. If they go in the direction that is not favouring you, it would be a big loss.
Very correct there is no exchange that you trade in and get automatical profits from it, success in trading has to do with the level of knowledge from the trader and also good timing, also the availability of trading pair on the exchange for traders to trade.

In terms of trading actually you can choose to go for decentralized exchange or centralized exchange it's all your choice, but I am always going to go for decentralized exchange to trade.
Here is a list of centralized exchange and decentralized exchange you can carry out your trading activities.

731  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Save yourself from Unnecessary stress newbies on: May 22, 2023, 05:17:57 PM
The forum never intended any thing to be difficult that's while the help button is clearly put on the tools bar, if you able to register, and login and been experiencing any difficult you would not find it so difficult to see the help button too, I always advice newbies to explore more on the forum, it's best to unlearn what you have heard about the forum when you get in here and strive to learn new things and the best way to do that is not shying away from exploration.

About pasting links, it's one thing to know how to learn it and it's another thing to know how not to miss use it, just like some do abuse the quote option and then creating an unnecessary eye saw of quote pyramid. Don't paste link that's miss leading, spam, phishing link, or something that actually against the forum rules.
732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Pizza Day 2023 on: May 22, 2023, 02:50:17 PM
If I wish I am at your location on this pizza day event to celebrate with you guys. And also I was thinking that Pizza days competition thread would be created this day to see the next winner of the competition but I couldn't see this year. I am only seeing different threads on the pizza. What happened? That event/competition in the forum is for fun and made the forum lively. Now there are different threads on pizza that littering the forum and the board.
As always during every Bitcoin Pizza day in every year we have so many of such post on the forum, infact I think this year had the least post, I really haven't seen much post about the Bitcoin Pizza day as compared to other years, but if the post aren't spam then it isn't all that bad.

There are many newbies coming into the forum some of them would be hearing about the Bitcoin Pizza day for the very first time so post like a well structured pizza day can be very informative to them, about having a competition really I would have been nice is there was any as they used to be something like that in the previous years, probably theymos was more occupied this time around.
733  Economy / Services / Re: Utopia P2P Ecosystem 💎 | Review Campaign 🔎| Participate Now! | Get paid in BTC on: May 22, 2023, 02:24:35 PM
MY UTOPIAP2P REVIEW

#REGISTRSTION: registration on Utopia p2p ecosystem was amazing, unlike many other application that would demand you to give out your email address, phone number some even demands any other social media accounts, UtopiaP2P registration only demand which username your wanted, your name and surname I think but all later requirements was optional and then asked which password you want and that's all. I think this also proves Utopia p2p word that they are concerned about protecting the privacy of their user.

#Home page. After registration you are giving a unique Utopia p2p address which can be used to get CRP crypton which is the native coin of Utopia p2p, some of the features that visible are
*uMail where you can receive and send emails on the ecosystem that's quite impressive.

*uWallet: under you uWallet you get your own personal wallet which contains your CRP crypton balance and UUSD (which is the stable coins of Utopia p2p) balance. spending out CRP crypton from here was very easy and straight forward with zero to nil transaction fees.

*uVoucher: I was particularly impressed about this, here you can generate a unique code which house the amount of CRP you put in it and someone can receive that amount of CRP by activating that code, unique like Cards. Pretty amazing.

*Mining: well I have never been big on mining but from what I have research Utopia p2p has a simple mining system which I would check out as time goes by.

#The channels: this was another thing I found interesting, Utopia p2p application has large amount of channels where you get to interact with amazing people, the Utopia chat lobby was really interesting for me and so was CRYPTON Exchange traders, and I saw some channels for local languages community that's very Great.

In summary my experience on this ecosystem has been nothing short from Amazing, Utopia p2p prioritize decentralization, security, anonymity and privacy protection that's very cool, I think I would be using the ecosystem and exploring more Daily.

#uMusic: like I said I would keep exploring the UtopiaP2P ecosystem I stubbled on the UtopiaP2P uMusic and it was amazing, you get the chance to listen to amazing music and it's great for upcoming artist as the can upload their songs and communicate with prospective listeners also unlike other music platforms where you get adverts always there is no ads on this uMusic channel.

#Crypton Exchange and the Application: doing my research I discovered that Utopia p2p has an application and I am always a big fan of decentralized exchanges so I check it out, this exchange has no KYC requirements that's a green flag, also your uWallet is what you link to the exchange, sending funds from your uWallet to the exchange has a very fast transaction with very low fees, I was very impressed, also I noticed that the exchange has listed CRP crypton and Utopia USD obviously and Bitcoin, Monero, it's still developing but the concept of the exchange is great.

Suggestions: well after my research on this Utopia p2p ecosystem it's really hard to fault it, it's an amazing project for real and they have great ethics, decentralized, secured and privacy protection.well I would suggest the team does all it can to promote the project, a hidden gem remains a hidden gem. The should pay great attention to their publicity, with all they have to offer it would be a successful project if they can create awareness.
734  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you still buying? on: May 21, 2023, 08:36:21 PM
It's wrong to speculate figures or things when you don't have concrete fact on it and make it or try to make it appears as the truth, many investors in crypto-currency do like times like this because it mean that can buy in on Bitcoin now that the price is down. I doubt if there is any experience member who would fear holding Bitcoin now going by the type of history Bitcoin has already created. By the way the halving of Bitcoin is coming up next year and many people has been anticipating for this and would be buying more Bitcoin now hoping the bull run would happen around the Bitcoin halving period.
735  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Use a good noncustodial wallet on: May 21, 2023, 07:13:36 PM
Nah until I start to use diz Forum I know say eh get wallet dem way better pass trust wallet, safepal, quarashi wallet, atomic wallet, nah all diz ones dem I don't use finish b4, but trust wallet nah 1 of the popular ones way I they use.. nah when I come read how important eh they to avoid wallet way no be open source I come reduce d way I dy carry use am, I don install Electrum mobile 4 mi phone but nah just few times way I don use am, I never too dy use to am, but with time I go make am my favourite wallet, since person need nd knowledge don grow pass where him just need to send and to receive Bitcoin, person also need upgrade tools way in dy carry work. Honestly I never try use trust wallet before, I don download the Wallet set am up for my phone and do every other thing but I never for once use am collect crypto-currency or perform any other transaction with it, for mow I dey enjoy electrum and all of it's services especially the cold wallet storage.
736  Economy / Economics / Re: When will we stop living for the weekend? Escaping the 9-5 life. on: May 21, 2023, 06:39:57 PM
Although I am not a white collar jobman at least not yet but not everyone has anything against working everyday if possible, I think we humans has so much softness in us that we want to be lazy all the time, for real humans were meant to go out and work that a biological make-up, even in medicine when you don't do so task the body shut down and some sort of sicknesses begins to take over.

For real trying to make something out for your self financially you need to give up the idea of full time pleasure, that's the obvious Truth, and even the self employed still all need to work hard everyday if not their business would go under.

The best way to survive in this hard financial times is to make the best of both times, make most of the work time you have do it to your best and when you have your leisure time make sure you try take advantage of your free time.
737  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which is the best investment nowadays anyone guide me on: May 21, 2023, 03:54:29 PM
Hi, I start learning cryptocurrency nowadays everywhere in the field of life like the technology boom has come and also in crypto filed but everyone asks in tiktok join group in some fees for signals. I want to start learning and earning anyone guides on how to do it without any investment and how to start earning from Bitcointalk?
what is the best way to learn from a YouTube channel or Group for free please mentioned the names helping to start earning.
I believe you really emphasized on the word free so much, so if you want to earn freely then you must be ready to sacrifices your time and effort into achieving it, well the knowledge I believe is almost gotten freely is books you need to go equip yourself with book on Crypto-currency in other to have good knowledge about crypto-currency.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5353061.msg57629860#msg57629860
In that link are recommendations to books you can get online and it would help better your understanding about crypto-currency I would advice you pay attention to mastering Bitcoin, it teaches alot and can also expose you to opportunity Bitcoin offers.

If you are looking to earn from the forum then you must understand the requirements that's involved, there are signature campaigns here on the forum but it has restrictions to specific ranks, mostly form full members upward, but still bounties are there but it's most likely spamming and that won't help your reputation on the forum.

You can also earn by designing websites, advert post, avatar, signature for campaigns and campaigns manager, there are many opportunities you can render your services but it still goes back to your knowledgeable, low Capital need more knowledge.
738  Economy / Economics / Re: Not all banks are going bust. on: May 21, 2023, 01:21:34 PM
If the government restricts banks from giving loans to some institutions it might hurt the economy because it is not all businesses that fail to service their loans.
The government did not completely restrict loan if you read the post well you would have seen the restrictions was giving load to institution and businesses outside the region with in this case is UK. Actually it may seem unfair to people outside their region but it's very much going to help institution and business inside the UK.

Also on the other hand the government are restricting the amount of financial Bodies that has the freedom to give out loans outside the country, I think it is a plot to be able to centralize the system and be able to have full control of it,  but such banks in the op context would not even mind those restrictions going by their name NATIONWIDE I believe their target is with in the nation and they must have been successful at that.
739  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: NEWBIE WANTING TO LEARN TO FLY 🕊️ on: May 20, 2023, 08:14:45 PM
You want to survive in crypto-currency with minimal risk yes it's possible even though there is always an element of risk in this space (crypto) but you can actually reduce it.
#Avoid altcoins if you can: altcoins are crypto-currencies that aren't Bitcoin, any other coin asides Bitcoin is an alternative coin, this side of crypto has a high percentage of risk and uncertainty, there are lots of altcoins and this can really mess with your choices, the are pump and dump and this can be an investors trap hole. So generally if you want to reduce your risk and you willing then you can try avoiding altcoins.

#Greed: the biggest tool scammers uses to get victims, greed is a potential risk in crypto-currency. It set people up to fall for scams, set traders and investors up to fall into loses as well.

#Low knowledge: you can't make it in anything you don't know about, Crypto-currency should not just be a gamble. Try to learn new things here, it can also here in protecting you in this ecosystem.
740  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Effects of Binance Changing Wallet Addresses on: May 20, 2023, 06:10:09 PM
If you've been on Binance over the years, you could
Probably discover that in simple terms it is the most secured
Well coordinated and organized centralized exchange globally,
Well I don't know how long you have been on binance but it also doesn't matter, if you are on a centralized exchange there is no security on it you can trust, you are having less freedom even on your own funds, you risk your privacy protection and centralized exchange are the gate way for government involvement in Crypto-currency.

About the wallet address changes, the binance team must have put out to those accounts that would have wallet expiration, and I think owners of such accounts would have prepared themselves for this, the main purpose of this development is for security reasons, even though I feel it would have it inconveniences, but in the bigger picture it may be a positive thing.
