But wanting to do more give you that same morale to always come back here and make things right.

Stop wishing and start doing! Actions speak louder than words.

There's not really a set rule for what makes someone a prominent forum member.  Lots of folks get popular from being around a long time, helping newbies, offering cool services, that kinda thing.  Each case is different.

You're being real vague here instead of just asking what you wanna know! Pick one member you think is a big shot and ask about them straight up and  or even better go read through their old posts - its all out there.  You can see which posts folks gave them merits for, and the trust feedback other members left on their profile.  Stuff like that.
722  Other / Meta / Re: My suggestion on how to reduce the spam problem in gambling board, what's yours? on: October 20, 2023, 11:28:59 AM
Plus, someone said the spammers are all part of gambling signature campaigns.  but you responded to the comment that the campaign managers know it's a problem here and they wont put up with the spammers in their campaigns.
No, not all of them are not spammers, they just looked like spammers because they tend to post on mega threads due to limited threads being created.

Solutions is suggested above.

No, I didn't say that all campaign participants are spammers, but it's true that the majority of spammers are indeed campaign participants. If you remove the incentive, I doubt there would be as much spam on the forum. There would be no reason for it.

The solution to cut down on spam is pretty simple.  Just report any messages that look like spam to the mods.  And if there's someone who keeps doing it over and over, tell their campaign manager so they can watch what that person's posting more carefully.  That's all there is to it.
723  Other / Meta / Re: My suggestion on how to reduce the spam problem in gambling board, what's yours? on: October 20, 2023, 10:03:16 AM
Both links you added above are of purely gambling websites, this forum is not a gambling website but a Bitcoin discussion forum with a gambling board.
Yes, I'm aware of that. But consider the facts I'm bringing up: the majority of the posts coming from signature campaigns are related to gambling boards. What makes this forum particularly active is the signature campaign. Therefore, I find it to be a major concern that needs to be addressed.

The title implies like you wanna stop all the spam on the Gambling board.  But I don't really get how making more topics is gonna fix that.

Plus, someone said the spammers are all part of gambling signature campaigns.  but you responded to the comment that the campaign managers know it's a problem here and they wont put up with the spammers in their campaigns. So if it ain't the signature campaign people doing it, where's all this spam coming from then? I'm just tryin to understand what's going on and what your goal is here.
724  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: question about using Satoshis to vote on: October 20, 2023, 09:45:18 AM
Is there any obvious reasons this would not work?

From what I understand, there was an anti-spam minimum of 546 satoshis per output.  This was the normal policy for nodes to avoid people clogging up the system with dust transactions.  So even though you could technically make a payment of just 1 satoshi, most nodes would reject it because of the anti-spam policy.
725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is cluster? on: October 20, 2023, 08:50:10 AM
<cut>
My question is what is a cluster and how can we see it and where?

Based on the question the newbie asked, I assume it's about identifying BTC addresses that belong to the same wallet or service. They probably noticed that the address you use or have made public is connected to a cluster of other addresses, possibly through sharing inputs. For some reason, he is interested in identifying the service connected to that cluster of addresses. Since you have already replied to him that this is the address generated for you by the Stake system, he can now identify other addresses that belong to the same service.

There's actually a bunch of websites and services that'll let you see what BTC addresses belong to the same wallet.  Walletexplorer.com is one I tried that's free to use.  You just put in an address and it shows you other addresses linked to it, along with all the transactions going in and out.
726  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance Says It Has Onboarded New Euro Fiat Partners for Deposits, Withdrawals on: October 20, 2023, 08:33:08 AM
I've been waiting for Binance to get the EUR SEPA deposit option working again here in the EU.  It's been pretty annoying that it's still not available even though Binance said they started migrating users to new services.  Im really looking forward to finally have that EUR deposit choice again since it'll make doing transactions a lot simpler. hopefully soon...

Oh c'mon, Joeyp! Is this the pinnacle of your creativity? you're really setting the bar low here, aren't you?

We've seen your wild and wacky theories before – at least they were entertaining. This, my friend, is neither interesting nor amusing. Step it up!
729  Economy / Reputation / Re: Who is alamin99 ? Scammer ? Hacker ? Exit Dev ? on: October 19, 2023, 05:14:53 PM
The text written by alamin99 is barely a shit. His response has a context and I'm sure he used AI to rewrite his text in better form, better English possibly. I don't see anything wrong with that.

You might have missed that specific post, as the moderators have already removed it. I quoted it here. I didn't say anything about using AI to correct grammar in your posts, but content generated by ChatGPT is not welcome on the forum. The mods seem to agree on that.
730  Economy / Reputation / Re: Who is alamin99 ? Scammer ? Hacker ? Exit Dev ? on: October 19, 2023, 12:41:19 PM

If using technology is so bad why use silicon-based mobile / computer to write your shit here? Why even use internet at all? Why not just go to jungle and live with your carbon-based ancestors?

A clever diversion, but let's not stray from the main issue.  I get it, using ChatGPT to "write that shit" for you seems easy, but it's a reflection of your incompetence, nothing more.

Let's not drag your ancestors into this; it's not their doing.
731  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Error or scam with Bitcoin ETF news? on: October 19, 2023, 09:37:06 AM
We can't know for sure if it was planned but I am inclined to think not, as it is not uncommon for fake news to slip through, sometimes in a whole range of media, propagated by a news agency. In this case it's a botched Cointelegraph, which as said is not characterized by an extreme quality of content, so the hypothesis that seems more likely to me is that they simply slipped in the fake news.

The bad thing is that there were many short-term traders who lost money with it.

Yeah, it's true that fake news can slip through the cracks sometimes, even on reputable sites.  I kinda think a lot of times it's not some evil plan but more they just dropped the ball on checking facts.  But in this case I'd say Cointelegraph should take the heat.  They've been around forever and are one of the OGs in the industry so they gotta know spreading fake stuff like this can hurt.  Whether they meant it or not, it happened and that's got consequences and  people can lose money if they trade based on bad info.  Cointelegraph should've been way more careful here, regardless of why it happened.
732  Economy / Reputation / Re: Who is alamin99 ? Scammer ? Hacker ? Exit Dev ? on: October 19, 2023, 08:32:53 AM
Thank you for your thoughtful and logical response. It's crucial to remember the importance of context and understanding the broader picture before jumping to conclusions. Your perspective helps shed light on the situation and promotes a more empathetic approach. Appreciate your input!

Thank you for that response, but silicon-based life forms aren't exactly welcome on this forum. So, "as a language model", kindly fuck off...  Wink

734  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Pregled Bitcointalk Signature-Ad kampanja on: October 17, 2023, 10:04:38 AM
Odlicna vijest za sve spammere i shitpostere koji nisu nigdje drugdje uspjeli upasti, ponovno je pokrenuta Bitvest kampanja!

O Bože! Here we go again! Pazi sad koliko će se računa odjednom probuditi iz dubokog sna. Bit će posla za spam buster-e! Pogotovo kada uzmemo u obzir tko je menadžer kampanje. Wink
Theymos može slobodno zaposliti barem još nekoliko moderatora.

Ako sam dobro izračunao, maks isplata za Hero/Legendary u "Tier A" je 0.00132 BTC tjedno (2200 sats x 60), plus još 3000 sats bonusa, dakle ukupno 0.00135 BTC tjedno.

735  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: YoMix warning on: October 17, 2023, 09:54:59 AM
It's well beyond me how a "bitcoin mixer's" developers could be so incompetent.

Don't mix up your own incompetence with someone else's. You don't use mixers to "clean" your coins, but to obfuscate your inputs and break the transaction trail on the blockchain. Obviously, by doing that, you end up with "someone else's" coins that might be linked to some shady activities.

So I guess thanks YoMix for putting me on an FBI watchlist. Be warned anyone. If it's so easy for an exchange to detect a bitcoin "mixer" it sure as hell means that it's not an actual mixer.

That's nonsense! Jumping to conclusions about being on an FBI watchlist due to using a mixer is a bit of a stretch.

KuCoin accounts are frozen - but the won't ive any info whether there is something there or not, until I get the official law enforcement report. Dubai police is taking no actions.

Does anyone has personal contact in KuCoin who might help to get this information?

Or maybe there is some possibility to get the report from any countries' law enformecents?

I don't believe that personal contact with someone from KuCoin will help you in this case, as sharing such information would be against their policies. The only way, in my opinion, is to pursue legal means.

That's why I recommended you consider consulting someone who's experienced in dealing with  internet-related crimes and cryptocurrencies, like a specialized law firm. I can't speak for Dubai, but over here, I have a local contact I can turn to for legal advice, and the costs are minimal, if any. If it's not their area of expertise, they'll refer me to the right legal experts. From there, they handle all the communication with law enforcement and the courts on my behalf.

I'm still not sure what to make of this. It seems like they wanted to hit the brakes and revamp the whole thing due to a lack of interest from the community. But then, why did they keep the site running even though withdrawals weren't working?

Since it seems like it was a one-person operation, it's still possible that something happened after this exchange with Hhampuz. He mentioned that he had been traveling a lot and hadn't reached his 'destination' yet.

740  Other / Meta / Re: Huge site outage! on: October 15, 2023, 07:43:28 AM
It is normal after an incident of this type that there may be some aftershocks.

This is not an earthquake where we expect to experience the aftershocks  Shocked

Of course! But, after so many hours of inactivity, delays in DNS propagation may occur. So all it takes is for a connection to use a DNS path that has not yet been updated, and this problem will occur.

Please note, I am not saying that this is what happened, just that it is a possibility.

No, I don't think that's what happened. Theymos didn't say anything about messing with DNS records, so there would be no DNS propagation delay. It was probably just some extra changes on the server that needed another restart.  The last downtime didn't last longer than a few minutes, as far as I can see, just the time it takes for all services to kick back in after the server restart.

I'm feeling disappointed now.  Sad
i think the plan for the upgrade is because of this unknown downtime accoutred a few times in the past.

That's not the upgrade I had in mind.  Wink
