721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Zcash? on: October 16, 2016, 07:47:54 PM
Can anyone please tell me if Zcash will be minable with a GPU?

A GPU miner is being developed, but as of now it is impossible to tell if it will be successful.

For that matter it is still not clear if they will be ready to launch on time. Still lots of bugs in the Zcash code.

Hhhhh... I'm mining ETH at the moment but was excited to hear that I could mine Zcash. But now, well, I guess not Sad What algorithm is it again?

So, is it just me, or is Komodo pretty expensive for an ICO? So, I paid 1 BTC into the ICO, and with the 25% bonus, in essence paid 1.25 BTC for 7500 Komodo. 1.25 BTC is currently $800. $800 divided by 7500 Komodo is $0.106 per coin. 10.6 cents per Komodo and there are 100 million of them? What was Ethereum's ICO price like 8 cents, and there were fewer coins? So right now Komodo has a 10.6 million dollar marketcap. Why do I feel like we're in an ICO bubble? Lol

I just can't believe that people are dumping NXT like this. Like, people who obviously bought NXT at like 4500 sats and had to hold til the end of the distribution to get their Ardor are dumping their NXT at 1500. They're taking a 67% loss on their investment. I mean, what does that tell you about the state of things for NXT? Still haven't dumped because I'm hoping I get my money back but every hour it seems less likely.

So what's going on with it now? Was able to get in, sent Bitcoin to the deposit address, and now can't get back in. The sign in button does nothing after I click on it. Guess I'll just wait. :/

Jesus let you don't invest this shit, because jl777 is ordering a new lambo, the money was from the shit brain "angel investors" who donated 500 btc.

If you would really follow what jl777 is doing, you would know that he has worked two years without pay for the investors. For example, he joined the BTCD team in halfway and ever since that has worked for free while the project had no funding at all. He even stated that he won't personally receive any funding from this ICO, but rather he will himself invest in the ICO (like everyone else) and expect to profit from it. It looks like jl777 is after something other than money.

The Komodo ICO needs funding first and foremost for the dPoW implementation. We promise no lambos will be bought!  Wink

Ok. That's great and all, but it doesn't look good when no one can actually buy into the ICO because the server's being overloaded. Or maybe only a select few are allowed to hit the server to buy. This is crypto. You assume shadiness unless somehow proven otherwise.

So, JL777 is the lead developer of this project. Is also the lead dev for SuperNET (Unity). So, is Komodo somehow tied to SuperNET, and if not, has SuperNET been abandoned? And is Komodo going to be part of SuperNET?

Many questions in my mind about NXT and ARDR!
- Why NXT down to 1240 sat. after growing to 6000 sat. before?
- Why some of users said in history comments that NXT will be delisted after 1 year from now?
- Why ARDR down trending while NXT in the same trend in down and down?!!

People were holding NXT only to get ARDOR. NXT is not so valuable after the ARDOR snapshot.

You will get (only) 0.5 IGNIS for 1 NXT in Q3 2017 (how I understand it IGNIS is 'NXT 2.0').
After that time NXT 1.0 will continue to exist, but most likely people will stop using/trading it.

And I'm assuming then that Ignis will be half the coin supply as NXT? If not, why would anyone in their right mind buy NXT only to get half that amount in Ignis? Like I said unless coin supply is halved. And btw (and this is a serious question), is anyone actually using NXT at the moment? I know traders are trading it, but that could be about it. Doesn't surprise me at all that NXT took a huge dump after Ardor distro. Sadly there's no point in keeping it.

Will the tokens be tradable on exchanges the day after the ICO ends?

So I think I transferred all my ARDR without NXT and it just disappeared. Fuck me

That would be completely ridiculous if after you transfer your ARDR to an exchange without having any NXT in your wallet that it'd just be gone.  How do the devs expect the general public to do anything with NXT or ARDR if these kinds of things happen, or if there's no thorough documentation out there?  Ridiculous.  I hope you haven't lost your ARDR.

So... NXT gets dumped. Ardor gets dumped. Just great.

It seems everyone got a little bit confused on which between these two to support.

Well ya. I just talked to somebody very active in the crypto space and is on the Expanse team, and he thought that NXT rebranded to Ardor. I really don't know how many times I can say this, but NXT has always needed to market better. Now people think the wrong things about Ardor because, once again, the marketing's atrocious. I consistently wonder how much more successful NXT would've been if only they could get somebody on the team to communicate how awesome it is to the right media channels. If they can't figure out how to do that with Ardor, then Ardor will fail. I mean, Ethereum did it. Why can't this team?

I swear these fucking exchanges. Doing ninja launches in the middle of the night, making wallets deposit-able in the middle of the night, not giving any ETA when Ardor's wallet comes out of maintenance mode, etc. Looks like people who were actually awake at 3am were able to dump at the best price.
734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ARDR][NO ICO] Ardor, or Nxt 2.0, a Scalable Child Chain Platform on: October 14, 2016, 01:28:21 AM
How to send ARDR tokens from NXT Desktop client to Bittrex? If I press "transfer" in the My Assets page, it asks for NXT address, but  Bittrex generated some strange ARDR address that doesn't look like NXT address... So dialog doesn't accept that address. What to do?
Thanks.

Well, actually I don't even know how you received an address on Bittrex considering the wallet's in maintenance mode at the moment.  I couldn't even get a deposit address because it's grayed out.

Ya. I know this doesn't help anyone but really you should've just forged in your NXT wallet. I have all 17,000 of my Ardor sitting in my NXT wallet ready to go at a moments notice. No issues at all.

So, is Ardor gonna be on Coinmarketcap any time soon? Any major exchanges like Polo any time soon? Anything any time soon? I mean we're hours away from distribution.
737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][UBQ] Ubiq - Jumbucks (JBS) swap to Ethereum fork with new features on: October 12, 2016, 02:22:03 AM
So, I like the 1:10 ratio swap, but 0 times 0 is still zero. Why should I invest a significant amount of Bitcoin into Jumbucks for the swap to Ubiq? Jumbucks has had 2 years to work on the project. What's been accomplished during that time? Like, what can you use Jumbucks for? And right now there are only 2 markets that carry JBS, and as of today, one of those markets had $48 in volume... Bittrex. Um, why such low volume, and why not more markets in 2 years?

What will make Ubiq unique as an Ethereum fork? There are quite a few Dapp platforms now. And why is the swap so disproportionate? If somebody came in on Bittrex right now and bought 10 BTC worth they'd get about 100,000 JBS. After the swap they'd have 1,000,000 Ubiq, or 1/36th of the total supply. 10 BTC isn't that much especially if you're a whale. Doesn't the high ratio swap make fair distribution of Ubiq more difficult? Would be very easy to control the market. Anyway, mainly just curious what the future plans are for Ubiq, especially since Jumbucks doesn't appear to have been too successful. Can we expect a roadmap for Ubiq any time soon?

During the 2 years of Jumbucks, we have built a very active community, ran a number of community events (e.g fantasy football leagues), launched a number of proof of concept services (e.g Jumbucks whois) and learnt a lot about what works, and what doesnt. The chain has been stable and the network healthy during this time, with no forks or freezes. We optimized PoS. We have continued to maintain and build the platform, without any premine, ICO, or funding of any kind.

Ubiq is unique on the core level for a number of reasons. Difficulty algorithm replaced with Digisheild V3, Difficulty bomb removed, and the first blockchain to implement Exponentially Subjective Scoring (ESS).
Other than the technical aspects, we intend to manage the project quite differently to most Dapp platforms. Instead of focusing on, and hyping a single Dapp, our focus will be on the platform itself. Providing standardized and well tested modules that can be utilized by Dapps to ease development and lower the chance of bugs in more complex Dapps. There is also a number of existing altcoins, that plan to swap to tokens on the Ubiq chain.

The 1:10 swap is somewhat related to the reason for rebranding. The 2 largest issues holding JBS back from growing further have been the low coin supply, and not being taken as a serious project upon first glimpse. The increased supply will actually result in better distribution, as there are more whole units for people to trade and spend, although divisible, psychologically people still like whole units. It wont affect market control, as the % of supply doesnt change, if you have 10% now, you will have 10% after the swap. The increased supply will also make it much easier to achieve a higher market cap.

We have intentionally kept JBS on a small number of exchanges, due to many exchanges providing a less than acceptable service (often disappearing with everyones coins or getting hacked etc), and to consolidate volume. the only two exchanges that really matter imo, are trex and polo.

Volume has been inconsistent, you just happened to check on a bad day, a few days ago there was ~100btc volume (~$60k) for example. It highly depends on whats going on, both in the jumbucks world, and other markets.

Great questions, keep them coming.

Lot's of trust in this project. Invested some in it and waiting for a swap and new features of this coin

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer all of that. I read through my post and realized that maybe I sounded like a dick, but that wasn't my intention. I've been in crypto now since February 2014, so I've seen a lot and I guess I'm just cynical now lol. You tend to get that way when you've seen scores of devs abandon their projects. Will you guys be getting a roadmap together in the next couple of months or anything?

I believe NXT has hit an all time low. With Ardor about to be released I put a bit of money into this today.

My NXT is currently sat on Poloniex. Have instructions been released on how these coins will be swapped for Ardor?

You don't need to do anything, exchanges like Poloniex will automatically  add Ardor in your account and the amount you will get will be equal to your current NXT balance with the ratio of 1:1.

Ahhh great thanks for the info.

Im surprised the price of NXT is still growing slowly with todays news.  Everyones so focused on POT atm!
Well. It is actually not truth. You will get ARDR at 1:1 ratio only if you holded NXT last 2 months. For few days holding you will get only fair (fragment) share of ARDR.

Yep that's correct.

What will be the price on the day that the snapshot ends?

Who knows... Roll Eyes

Um, let me save you the suspense. Probably not good unfortunately.

I'm still very optimistic about the price. Everyone should train themselves to be a more positive thinker.

I hope you're right. I really do because I hold quite a few NXT. Word on the street is that the NXT devs want out of NXT. Not sure if this is just FUD, but NXT devs need to respond to these rumors.
