721  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Maybe future trade is gambling on: December 29, 2023, 08:03:21 PM
Gambling is a game of chance.
Trading is not a game. In trading, you are not gambling anything but trading.
The trade may favour you or not and that is why it is risky.

So basically, on your own words trading is gambling!  Cheesy
You are very wrong and you are not getting what I meant. Trading is not a game, but gambling is a game. In trading, you are buying and selling. In gambling, you are not buying and selling anything. Both are risky and their risks can be the same, but some people like you failed to understand that trading and gambling are not the same.
722  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Maybe future trade is gambling on: December 29, 2023, 06:20:46 PM
We consider an activity as gambling when the risk intake is high and the returns are huge. If a similar condition arrives at any activity, then definitely it’s nothing but pure gambling. If we see in future trading then definitely you buy the coins and sell at limited time, here the profit can be huge, and if went for loss, then it will really go very down. So yes future trading is almost like gambling or risking your money. The story you mentioned really made me sad, he lost the money due to high risk or which you can say high leverage.
Gambling is a game of chance. Trading is not a game. In trading, you are not gambling anything but trading. The trade may favour you or not and that is why it is risky. An investor can lose. In a business, a business man can lose. In anything that we can gain from, we can also lose. But the risks are higher in future trading. The risks are higher but it is not gambling.
723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips to consider before selecting an under 3.5 football prediction on: December 29, 2023, 03:07:23 PM
If you a daily bettor, its not worth with the risk to bet only on Under 3.5.
Most of Under 3.5 usually comes with a low payout, e.g: 1.4x 1.3x or even lower than that.
Yeah I understand the chance to win that bet is bigger but if we lose 1 bet with that odds = we must win 3 bets to make it even.
If I want to choose over and understand matches, I prefer to make research just like the OP said already and also just go for not more than either over or under 2.5 which are of higher odds than the 3.5. But sometimes the odd can be high for under 3.5 if the team that is playing is strong and scoring very well. But normally I prefer casinos than bookies because bookies are using odds to scam unlike high odds in casinos.
724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale betting system on: December 29, 2023, 03:00:18 PM
The variants mentioned by Oshosondy can work in the short term, but as I said it is a losing strategy in the long term, if you keep applying it ad perpetuum, as nobody has enough bankroll to recover from a losing spree that sooner or later will happen.
It is not only martingale strategy that will fail gamblers, all strategies will fail gamblers. As long as you continue to gamble for long, you will see the house or bookies winning. They have house edge that gamblers can see but some gamblers will still think that they can win the house or the bookies. They are just deceiving themselves.
725  Other / Meta / Re: What new changes would you like to see on Bitcointalk in 2024 ? on: December 29, 2023, 09:48:39 AM
Bitcoin mixers should be allowed back.

What new changes would you like to see on Bitcointalk in 2024 ?  Or do you like the forum exactly as it is ?
New forum software. Although I am not expecting it but it would be good if we have new forum software.

But top of my list will be the Newbie Welcome Message. It has been too many years in the works and should help get rid of all the newbie introduction posts asking for guidance as well as actually pointing new members in the direction they should go.
I do not know where I have seen it before, but it is what is welcome on this forum. I do not think that can be done.

There has been a whole lot of changes this year.however I would love to see less plagiarism, less use of alts and most especially I would love there to be less posts about conjestions in the mempool. It may seem like so much to ask but I wish it was possible so Bitcoiners here would not have to go through the stress of battling ways to tackle the current high fee problem anytime they wish to make transaction. Like come to think of it part of Satoshi's idea was to make a suitable and easy peer-to-peer currency. But lately Bitcoin has become more of an investment than a P2P currency.
The moderators are doing everything to ban plagiarists. About mempool congestion, it is normal because as it started, people transactions are stuck and they will ask about how to solve the stuck transaction. About congestion mempool, this is not related to this forum but to bitcoin itself.
726  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: It will save your capital more than you can imagine on: December 28, 2023, 08:20:10 PM
Maybe because I'm not a trader who trades with large capital so I rarely use stop losses.
Using the stop loss feature in trading with large capital is very helpful in setting a good pattern for our capital.
On Bitcoin, long-term targets are not for short-term trading.

Btw, this is a good experience. For beginners who still don't understand how to trade, you can practice it.
Day-to-day trading requires a smart mind in implementing strategies with planned patterns and avoiding exiting the trading strategy.
What you think as a large capital can be a small capital for someone. Let us say a trader has $100000, he trades with $10000. When he wants to start trade, he use $1000, if he is losing, he increase the margin until it is 1x that will make it $10000. After that, he still go 2x which is the final. That is 20x leverage with low risk. Stop loss is also not needed with this scenario.
727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any fun in losing while gambling on: December 28, 2023, 04:59:52 PM
but from several my friends  experiences, I actually see that the pleasure they get from gambling is only when they play and win, but when they lose, we can see that their emotions start to look unstable and even will tend to get angry and rage when we are greeting or joking.
In the nature of human beings, they do not want to lose in anything they are doing. If it is money related, it is even worse because they do not want to lose at all. In gambling, people also do not want to lose but just only few that do no mind if they lose and it is because they are using small amount of money to gamble. An amount that it is like they are not losing. Sometimes you will want to bet with small amount of money, but before you known you are using bigger amount and while losing, it can lead to anger, depression and frustration. The truth still lies in the fact that we should just use small amount of money to gamble if we want to avoid all these negative effects of gambling.
728  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why the rich win gambling more than the poor. on: December 28, 2023, 02:56:26 PM
It is a common thing that rich people gamble more and because they have enough money, they continue to gamble for a long time, so their win and loss are more. The more you gamble the more you win and the more you lose. And rich people have a great desire to own a lot of money and they are not afraid of loss. As the saying goes no risk no gain. So the more risk you take, the higher your win will be. And the rich have the ability to take that risk so they win more than the poor
If quantity is used definitely the rich people can likely gain in profit in gambling than the poor and they will also likely suffer loss the most. But if comparing this, I think percentage supposed to be used. Let us say a rich man gamble with $100000 but an average gamble with $1000 in a year. The rich man won $40000 but lost $120000. The net won is just $20000 but with $80000 loss. What if the poor lost the whole $1000 and won $100 making it $900 loss. Who lost the most? We can say the rich man won and lost in gambling than the the poor. But I think the rich people make gambling sites richer is more appropriate words to use.
729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What gives high winning percentage for you, spread or total? on: December 28, 2023, 01:08:56 PM
I'm not really into using a same strategy in my betting, it varies depend on how big the odds and my feeling which I think worth to bet.

Over/under mostly a safe bet, it's when I can't predict which one will win or odds for favorite is too small. While money line or spread sometime surprising, I bet when I feel the underdog might pull an upset.
This is how it is for me too. The match I want to take and the amount I used to bet it matters. There are times I go for the impossible but which can be surprising if I win the bet.

As for me, I like to go for under/over which is very good, but I still also go for other types at times.
730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Was You Biggest Win in 2023? on: December 28, 2023, 08:23:01 AM
Unfortunately, I didn't keep track of how many wins and losses I had so I don't know for sure. I think the wins and losses I get are more than the wins, but that's okay because that's gambling. We can win or lose depending on our luck, and we must be able to accept it well. We can still continue gambling next year until we feel bored with gambling, then we can decide to stop gambling. If it is a victory, we should not brag or show it off to others because that will not guarantee that we can get a win like that again next year. We should keep everything to ourselves and not have to remember it because gambling, for us, is entertainment.
That is just it for most people. The winning would be less than losses. All what gambling sites need is traffic. If they have high traffic to their website and people using their site for gambling, that means more profit for them because they will make more money. They will grow more and people will lose money to them more. This is one of the reasons people should know that they should avoid spending the amount of money they can not afford to lose on gambling.
731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any fun in losing while gambling on: December 27, 2023, 11:33:23 AM
It is true that gambling is a fun thing but here everyone has an objective to win and no one expects to lose.
If you are expecting to win in gambling and not expecting to lose, gambling is not for you and it is better not to gamble. Because in gambling, gambling sites are doing things in a way for people to lose than gain. That is why you will see them able to pay their workers and also getting richer and better. Gambling should just be for fun.
732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one did you use to gamble with more on: December 27, 2023, 11:27:53 AM
We are going to get more odds when we stake games before the match started. It is a good way to accumulate more odd and make more money than to wait for the match 5o start before we bet on it. Gambling is very challenging and we need to focus on how make money than to relax and take less risk when we gamble.
If the match starts already and no goal, as time goes and no goal, the odd will be increasing until there is a goal. If a less strong team first score, the odd for the strong team will increase. So it depends.

Sometimes betting on virtual games can be profitable too if we know how to make our way to making consistent profits. Although there is no kind of bet that is easy except when we know how to find our way to making consistent profits. Whether we better before the match or doing the match, once we are always making profits we can go for anyone.
If you play it too much, it can take than give. One thing I hate about sport and virtual betting is the low odd for the strong teams. I prefer casino games but which is also very risky.
733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many hours is the best time for a gambler to last while gambling? on: December 27, 2023, 10:41:21 AM
If I am busy, I may not gamble at all. If I am not that busy and able to gamble that day, I may not gamble for more than 5 to 30 minutes. If I have nothing to do, I can divided my money into smaller amounts to gamble for a longer time period. I do not have a certain time that I spend while gambling, it depends on if I have time to gamble or not and if I feel like to gamble at the time or not.
734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any fun in losing while gambling on: December 27, 2023, 10:34:59 AM
Gambling is indeed fun mostly when the cash you bet is something you can risk losing that when you get the real fun relaxing watching the game. But when gambling with your hard earns or some thing you can't risk in other to get something extraordinary in return at that moment I  don't gambling will be fun in such.
I agree with what you said. Let me assume that I earn $500 in a month. From the $500, it is said and advised that people should use 1% to gamble. If I gamble with 1% of my money earned that month, that is just $5. If I lose all the $5, I will still enjoy the games while gambling. It is just that most people do not gamble to have just fun, they also need to earn money from it. If they are earning money, they are happy but if they are losing, they are not happy. Looking to earn money from gambling is not advised.
735  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Our Dependency on Google on: December 27, 2023, 09:39:06 AM
  • DuckDuckGO for search engine
  •  Tor and Firefox as browsers
  • Protonmail as email
  • OsmAnd as Map
  • MEGA as cloud storage

Why not go for other open source mobile phone is like Calyx instead of Android. Also to avoid Android products.

https://itsfoss.com/open-source-alternatives-android/

For browser, Tor and Firefox are good, but Duckduckgo is also having a mobile browser whch is also good.

As for cloud storage, it is good to know not to store important information like your password and identity documents on storage. Because of that I still use google cloud but to store some things that are not password and documents.
736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reports emerge suggesting Mt. Gox creditors are receiving repayments on: December 27, 2023, 07:51:30 AM
My speculation: If Mt.Gox paid all they owes, I think this will give a good impression for people to trust more in centralized exchanges because they will think it's safer as the coins can be recovered than non custodial wallet where you lose your seed phrase, it's gone.
How can someone have money but prefer to lose the money. You know that if your seed phrase is lost your coin is lost. Then why not protect it? I have not lost my seed phrase before and I do not think that is going to happen. How about exchange like Cryptopia? What I know about the exchange is that people's coins has not been refunded. MT. Gox has been hacked over decade ago and that is disappointment for many people if they are just getting their money now. The best is to use noncustodial wallet and have complete control over your coins.
737  Economy / Lending / Re: Hello everyone looking for 7k loan with 10% interest for 3 months no collateral on: December 27, 2023, 07:35:17 AM
You register on this forum just some hours ago. After you register, you ask for a loan just not more than 1 hour and 15 minutes after you register.

If you want to be given loan on this forum, you need to be in a campaign or having a collateral. If you do not have any of those two, it is better to go to other place to get a loan. You can go to bank.
738  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: humerh3 is a scammer on: December 26, 2023, 05:48:41 AM
You can click on his profile and click on trust on his profile page. He has a red flag and someone like JollyGood give him a negative trust already.

This is his trust page: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=980573

It can be easily known from there that you should avoid someone like him.
739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin HODL: what happens to Bitcoin holders during impressive price increase? on: December 26, 2023, 05:40:20 AM
Question: With the coming of these two major events, assuming the price of Bitcoin turns out to be very impressive and massively different from today's current price, will the majority of Bitcoin holders keep(continue) holding?, or might price temptation just result in them selling to make a profit?.
If you check the price of bitcoin from the past, you will know that there are times that are just bear market. If there would be bear market that will override the bull market, that would be in 2026. That is the time many bitcoin holders will sell after making several profits. Although some holders will not sell all their coins.
740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Arthur Hayes Believes ETFs Might Cause the Demise of Bitcoin on: December 25, 2023, 09:33:48 PM
If more people do not sell, that means the price will go up as it would become scarce. I do not know how this would be negative for bitcoin but positive because if bitcoin become scarce, satashi (sat) will not become scarce but become more valuable. You do not have to buy 1 BTC.
