where this fest is organised......HuhHuh
i will try to come nd b a part of this fest....

Surprised that you are not aware of this fest / location of it.
Newspapers have been full of this event and the ecological damage caused by it.

do you really think that it caused any type of damage ?

Nothing which money can't repair. Having said that, they made a mess out of the media management. Being fined by the National Green Tribunal also portrays them in a negative light.

723  Local / Off-Topic (India) / Re: Petty politics by Virbhadra Singh on: March 13, 2016, 04:21:20 AM
Some good seems to have come out of all this.
2 matches at Dharamshala have already been rained out. Looks like Mr Virbhadra Singh's intervention has ensured that we will indeed get a full 20 over Indo-Pak T20 match.  Smiley
724  Local / Off-Topic (India) / Petty politics by Virbhadra Singh on: March 09, 2016, 04:08:22 PM
The Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister really angers me. He has allowed Pakistanis to use his statement to portray India in a negative light.
All this to ensure that his rival Anurag Thakur doesn't get the credit for hosting a marquee match in Himachal Pradesh.
And of course, Rahul and Sonia Gandhi are tacitly backing him.
725  Economy / Economics / Re: Mining coins save or sell it? on: March 09, 2016, 12:58:29 AM
It will be nice if you are going to save it, that will be very good for you and you will have some more money later I think.
We just must hope that the value will rise in the future and than it will be very good who already have save their Bitcoins.

Unfortunately, he will have bills (electricity) to pay and so most coins will have to be sold for that. The remaining coins, he has a choice between saving / selling them.
726  Local / India / Re: Perfect time to invest in Bitcoin? Record highs predicted in 2016 on: March 09, 2016, 12:56:54 AM
rise to $4,400 by the end of 2017.  Shocked

Are you sure it would gonna happen?

I wont think, it would gonna happen... $4400 is too too far from current rate
You can't rule out any possibility.Remember Bitcoin was less than a cent when it was created but now it is in three figures.

It might, but you would be foolish to bet any money on it.
If you have accumulated bitcoins, sit on them and wait for them to appreciate.
727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: March 09, 2016, 12:55:14 AM
There 8 teams are fitting to qualify for T20 world cup participation. These are the 8 teams.

Group A - Bangladesh, Ireland, Netherlands, Oman.
Group B - Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Scotland, Zimbabwe.

From each group one team will qualify for the T20 world cup. I think from Group A, mostly Bangladesh will qualify and group B is quite difficult to predict both Zimbabwe and Afghanistan got chances.  What is your guessing?
I prefer to go with Bangladesh in Group A and with Zimabwe in group B. Bangladesh have 100% chances to qualify for world cup main event. and zimbbabwe also stronger than other four teams in the group B.
Yes. I also bet for bangladesh in qualifying rounds, recently Bangladesh reached final in Asia cup against india and proof that how strong Bangladesh team is. I think bangladesh will 100% win the qualifying round and apply for world cup. Lets see what will happen.

Yeah more chances of Bangladesh from Group A to qualify as the confidence is high and players are in good form, from Group B I think Afghanistan will create a major upset by qualifying as they have already defeated Scotland today.

The match to watch out for will be Zimbabwe vs Afghanistan. This will be the crucial match for qualification. Bangaldesh have got a relatively easy group.
728  Economy / Speculation / Re: You got screwed once again on: March 05, 2016, 11:38:14 AM
Everyone's gotta admit we're in some seriously interesting times!

Current times are more than interesting, and I really believe that the closer we come to the block halving the more interesting/volatile the market will become. I see profit everywhere.

What is profit for you, might be losses for some others.
You have got to ride this wave right Smiley
729  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Bitcoin always be dependent on fiat? Is it? on: March 05, 2016, 11:36:10 AM
There is no changing that. It is supposed to be that way. Or some people will go rampant if you make bitcoin as a new currency internationally. Specially, those who doesnt even know something about it. And what is more. Those who dont even hold a computer. That will be hard for them

Exactly, the older generation would prefer to use fiat and not bitcoins, as for them bitcoin is something very new and complicated, they would continue to use what's convenient for them.

If those people can use the smart phone, they can use the bitcoin. It will be very simple process in the future.

What the can do, is not necessarily what they may prefer to do.
They would still prefer to hold coins rather than believe in digital code.
730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: March 05, 2016, 11:26:17 AM
Ireland is much more stronger and better than Zimbabwe.Ireland has showed great play against Hong Kong in last match though that was weak team but after all is world class team.Today Ireland will be benefited by last victory against Zimbabwe and wins again.

Yes, Ireland is strong team but at the same time Zimbabwe is also strong. Teams like Zimbabwe, Irenalnd, Afghanistan & UAE are looking good but they needs to perform consistantly. They should improve their playing standard just like Bangladesh.

Are odds available for these warm up games? Once the world cup starts, the betting volumes will increase drastically. These warm up games generate no interest.
731  Economy / Speculation / Re: +$20 in the last 24hrs... on: March 05, 2016, 11:23:55 AM
The price dropped $20 in the last 24 hours. So bitcoin is still too volatile. It will prevent people from using it.

It is volatile for sure, but that is one reason why people are attracted towards it.
What attraction does a boring currency hold?  Wink

An Insider on Why Bitcoin Isn't Mainstream and How That Might Change

http://gadgets.ndtv.com/internet/features/an-insider-on-why-bitcoin-isnt-mainstream-and-how-that-might-change-809767

Despite being around since 2009, Bitcoin hasn't really taken off, and most people have either not heard of it, or just know it as some esoteric technology thing that isn't relevant to their lives. Invented by someone known only at Satoshi Nakamoto (who has not been publicly identified despite intense scrutiny), Bitcoin has a bad rap. This is in part due to its association with notorious underground site, Silk Road, but also because its complexity is off-putting to even many seasoned techies.

Bitcoins are created through a "mining" process involving computer algorithms on equipment owned or rented out by companies such as Iceland-based Genesis. Bitcoins, which are worth more than $400 each, can be purchased from trading exchanges such as BitStamp and Kraken.

Forty big banks test blockchain-based bond trading system

Forty of the world's biggest banks, including HSBC and Citi , have tested a system for trading fixed income using the technology that underpins bitcoin, fintech company R3 CEV said on Thursday.

The banks are part of a consortium of 42 major lenders, brought together last year by New York-based R3 CEV to work on ways blockchain technology could be used in financial markets - the first time so many have collaborated on using such systems.

What blockchain tech can do for India’s underbanked

http://www.thehindu.com/news/cities/mumbai/business/what-blockchain-tech-can-do-for-indias-underbanked/article8294644.ece

Last year, in a report, the Reserve Bank of India acknowledged the transformation the technology can bring to various financial market transactions. Bitcoin, a web-based “cryptocurrency” used to move money around quickly and anonymously with no need for a central authority, is one such increasingly popular alternative. Block chain (increasingly now referred to as blockchain), the underlying technology, is a distributed — across a network of computers — ledger secured cryptographically, which can be used to record any transaction (including an exchange of value).

In an interview with Sanjay Vijayakumar , Brock Pierce, managing partner at Blockchain Capital (a venture capital firm that invests in blockchain-enabled technology companies), and chairman, Bitcoin Foundation, which advocates bitcoin and its development, speaks about the currency and its use-cases in a market like India.

Bitcoin is gold 2.0, can transform remittances: Brock Pierce

http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/economy/finance/bitcoin-is-gold-2-0-can-transform-remittances-brock-pierce/articleshow/51183868.cms

Bitcoins could transform the remittances business in the country and the digital currency could gain increasing acceptance in India, given its gold-like attributes, the chairman of the global Bitcoin Foundation told ET.

The Bitcoin Foundation was started in 2012 to standardise, promote and protect the use of Bitcoins. The foundation lobbies, organises conferences and provides technical support for the digital currency.
740  Local / India / Re: how would FEMA apply? on: March 02, 2016, 12:15:08 AM
i understand.

because this is very useful for everyone in the community to know, and the answers will generally apply to everyone, can we as a community approach a lawyer and publicly document the findings? i think it is super useful to know all this.

i also think people considering their bitcoins with reverence to the law will help gain bitcoin some good light. the way the govt. reacts will be very reactive to how bitcoins *are* being used in contrast with how they *can* be used for good. people might looking at bitcoin at a completely "unregulated" system with full freedom which might hurt everyone in the future.

opinions?

This was indeed done sometime back.
