721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum will still be my choice this year. on: April 14, 2024, 04:16:37 PM
-snip-
Do you think I make a good choice this year or I should include BNB so that if one is delaying me in the market, I can try the other one to achieve what I want .
Not for the fact that I already witnessed what happened, but I would have advised you not to rely on Ethereum alone that time if you must deal with it. Ethereum and Bitcoin would behave almost the same way, I've always known that and that's why I've ended my purchase of them since last year. It is no longer a good investment when the price is somewhat high enough, not that you will still not gain but you should be sure that what you will gain will be little, that's my plight and discouragement. Owning to this, what is the point if there are alternatives that can still behave better? This is now evident with how Ethereum and BNB performed this year already, you should have gained more if it was BNB you opted for, or at least diversify your portfolio with the two.

Although this is always practical, but I wonder why some people do not often realise it. Well, it is another lesson now again, and I hope that you eventually go for the BNB. If you did, by now, you will be smiling to your wallet account. It hurts so well when you have a crypto asset but the alternative is the one performing, which would give the person a headache and get him frustrated.

To avoid this, at least, on average, diversifying our portfolio is the best. Even if we do not want to buy so many coins, we could limit them to either 2, 3 or 5 coins/tokens. They would still do the trick.
722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gold vs bitcoin in a WWIII scenario on: April 14, 2024, 03:56:48 PM
My true assessment is that, since Bitcoin moved in multiples over the past few years, people believe that it is what could be compared exactly with Gold and will always perform well without any challenges. But I see it differently. Bitcoin is still finding its path to survive the test of time even though everything seems perfect, but Gold is way old and has done so well and been used for virtually anything you can think of as an asset and it survived. It is a safe-haven asset which is why it was able to overcome all odds and hurdles, especially during the time of war. For the fact that Gold is one of the common commodities that has not failed people, people/investors prefer to keep their money in it, and not fiat currencies that the war may affect hugely depending on the devastation meted on the country spending the currency during the war. After the war, the currency could have devalued so much.

But with Gold that has no certain government/country control/dependence, it remains the same, and could even be reviewed higher in price since more capital would be injected into it. If the world war happens again, we may see Gold reaching the moon indeed, especially as the population of the world is higher now, and so will the value of its liquidity and price. Well, I would have said a little same for Bitcoin but I can't because it is still young, and most importantly, it is not a safe-haven asset. It is a risk-on asset just like other major fiat currencies. It also has the limitation of internet dependency, which makes Gold even more unique during war. Because, if the war is bitting and the internet ceases, Gold can still be used to make transactions, which makes it more valuable at that time.
723  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why they need a license if bitcon is not money? on: April 14, 2024, 03:27:07 PM
This is a true practice of scammers, they must have intended it from the beginning and they are using the cryptocurrency system to get their evil perpetrated. This is why I always tell people that I will never join them in signing up for the no-KYC casino. And even if I had to sign up for a decentralised casino, I would have thought it through for a long time and would even resolve to choose the old ones only. This will also be happening if my trusted casinos fail me, which I do not see coming for now.
I know one thing and that is scammer has no country, no community, no nation, and no religion. They are just scammer nothing else. I want to say that a lot of gambling sites who take kyc documents but they are a scammer. Think about 1xbit, 1xbet and many more.
The two casinos you pointed out here don't even have the characteristics of such scammers I pointed to above, they might have scammed a lot of people but still they are operating. Those I pictured are worse, and are true scammers, they are are practically no where, and they can't have that high scamming intention from the beginning and still be able to function to this level of the casinos you called. These scammers are big-term scammers, they are faceless, have no address, phone number, or nothing, they are just anonymous in everything and have planned it from the begining. But still, they come as a casino and people are gullibly registering, sending their details/data and sending their money to them.

Who won't know such are there all for the money they want to steal/scam? This is also what I fear most with the no-KYC casinos, they can easily hide under this to steal people's money and even data. Also, I've always said that asking for KYC is not a certain means to trust you, one should still do the thorough investigations. Howveer, the risk of dealing with a no-KYC casino is higher than that of dealing with the KYC casinos, because all what the no-KYC casinos claims it is may not be true since they are answerable to no one. But for the KYC casino that means business, it will easily get them exposed if they falsify their infomation.
724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Claw Machines: a category of gambling? on: April 14, 2024, 03:19:09 AM
-snip-
Do you consider this a category of gambling game?
Yes, I consider this as a gambling game but not the typical one. For the fact that you use your money to play it, and you are playing for the purpose of what it will give you in return, then you are taking a risk for something which is gambling. This is the kind that little children can even participate in as well, and as a matter of fact, they are doing it. This may just be when they and their parents visit such a mall with such a facility, they may go there, put their coin and try their luck. It is so joyful to these children if they win something in this arrangement, which is why I can term it as light gambling with a possible little attachment. It's a way to have extra fun at malls aside from shopping.

Quote
What are the chances on long run?
While playing this kind of light game, do not create much importance to it than for the fun for the moment. And as for me, I see the chance here to be 50/50. You are just trying your luck, but in a light way, nothing is to be taken seriously here. It is not a place where you can hit that Jackpot.

Quote
Skills matter, or do you have to be lucky, nevertheless?
It's practical my friend, no skills will help you win more, you only have to rely on luck. Just like casinos, the system of this machine has been structured in a certain way, it is only luck that will deliver the winning in this regard.
725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling by financial dependents. on: April 14, 2024, 02:48:07 AM
Gambling in front of children is really bad. After growing up the bad tendency of gambling will fall into them. If the environment is bad the family does not have to do anything for the development of the children. But with good environment comes bad environment. Not all environments are the same Children need to be engaged in natural environments to keep them away from gambling tendencies.
We have the influence that we need and letting our guards down will not favour anyone of us. We have children, we should give them the best care and treatment and not treat them as if they're mature, when we talk about mature it simply means showing them the basic necessities of life and struggle. Never raise up a child in such an unconducive environment where gambling is daily routine. We know how fast and adaptable children can be, they learn with the slightest chance they're seen.
But it is a pity that some parents do not care about this, some are just insensitive to the future gambling influence on their children, and they live their lives anyhow. Such parents need to still be under their parents, but it is unfortunate their children are now looking up to them. At times, if one parent cares, the other may not care, nevertheless, the children can be using the good guide of the other who cares to overlook what the one that doesn't care is doing. You can imagine, that some children would have to go through all that, but this is still not an automatic reason for them to do adult things like gambling at an early age, some children are naturally cultured.

Most of the children I know who are victims of this do not follow the path of their parent(s), especially if they know what the parent(s) is doing is not good. Also, even for the fact that the parent(s) are doing that, they strictly forbid their children to do it, which means they know that what they are doing is not good. But it is best that parents avoid this entirely for the best interest of their children. Also, in case the environment they live in is not encouraging enough to avoid this, they should be strict and thorough in guiding their children on gambling and let them fully know the evil in it when they expose themselves to it at such an early age in order to scare them.
726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Get one btc right away or 5 btc with a bet? on: April 14, 2024, 02:25:32 AM
It's not always easy to make the right decisions. Are you a gambler? If you're offered 1 btc without playing or 5 btc by playing (with a chance of 2 to 1). What do you do?

you alredy know the logical way. So, my recomendation - listen to your heart’s whispers and let Lady Luck be your guide. Either way, let the thrill of the choice fill you with excitement. It’s not just a gamble, it’s a leap into a universe of what-ifs and might-bes. Go where the magic pulls you!  Wink
Lady luck? Who is that if I may ask? We better not deceive ourselves, no one knows the lady luck you are referring to, that is why the gambler may choose rightly or wrongly in this regard, the risk is too high. This is like you are gambling within gambling itself, you are just on your own here. There is nothing magical here as well unless you are a magician or a seer who knows the right outcome in the spirit realm to choose rightly in the physical realm. But if you are not, I do not encourage anyone to take any guesses on this, losing a whole 1 BTC due to a useless guess will be hurtful. Because the chance of losing the money is unreasonably high. I would rather walk away with the money and call it a day, but rather do a reasonable business/investment with the money that sooner or later would yield good income for me.
727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling excites you ? on: April 14, 2024, 02:10:46 AM
Sometimes gambling can be very exciting especially when you have warm multiple times, despite your losses it is also exciting because whenever you remember your winning, you also feel better One of the most interesting part of it is the prediction when you are setting up your bed, you are always calm even when you are done setting up your bets you feel like OK you have done well, that’s a good news. We actually come out some people play more than the Bet at the same time expecting to win at least one or two or to cover up the order losses gambling can be really exciting sometimes and also  make you sad.
Gambling is not for the weak, before proceeding to gamble, we already know what's at stake and was willing to take this drastic harsh step though it might affects us in some ways but most of them are focused on relevant streak winnings,  we applying for constant support. Gambling will only bring smiles on my face whenever I get touch with my gigantic earnings and also having the confident actions of winning for my games.
And to get to that level of your gigantic winning, you must be willing to wager gigantically and also risk gigantically with the option you go for. This way, you will get to be persistent about the risks taking because gambling is not what we can control but just rely on luck, and before the fateful day of luck would come, one has to be persistent about the risk-taking. By this, I am certain that you would have wasted enough money, which I can only believe is necessary for you to achieve your gambling big goal. However, all I narrated is for those who are expecting that big miracle like yourself, it is actually possible but you must be an aggressive risk taker at the same time.

This is why advise you to perish that thought, or else, you might hurt yourself a lot before it happens, unless you are such that just wish for that Jackpot but did not make any moves to actualise it. There is nothing as good as taking gambling easy, that's the way we can enjoy it, and the moment we start attributing the importance of making money and also making it big to it, the more it becomes increasingly boring and challenging for us. So, to avoid wasting money, let us take it easy and zero our minds about it, which can encourage us to wager moderately and steadily, and one day, who knows, that fateful lucky day may come without pushing ourselves too hard.
728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Anyone +18 Play Gamble? on: April 14, 2024, 01:56:28 AM
they will be welcome to enter even if they are not experienced. Inexperienced gamblers can learn from their first experiences when gambling to develop themselves into professional gamblers and to avoid making the same mistakes in the future and increase their effectiveness in gambling.
Gambling is 90% luck and 10% skill, which is why even a newbie Gambler can come to a casino today and win a huge sum of money someone who has been gambling for 10yrs had never won, so as such, that alone should tell us that either experience or inexperienced is not the only factor to determine success in gambling, as anybody is likely to be successful, inasmuch as they are willing to take the risk.
If I go by the way you narrated gambling here, then I will not bother myself to think of the concluding part you wrote, because what is the arithmetic that will make the gambling you claimed is 90% luck-dependent to hand you success when it is obvious that you can't control luck? This will be a tough task indeed. But in my own view, I like gambling to be reviewed as luck is 100% needed in some aspects of gambling like when we play in the casinos, because anything skilful you know here is invalid to hand you the winning since it basically works on some algorithms that weren't planned to favour you easily.

But surely, when it is sports betting, it is 50/50, which means that you have to rely on 50% luck and 50% skills, and not that all gambling will be 90% reliant on luck. I do not agree with that. This calls for us to choose what we play carefully especially if we are gambling for the money. Experience will never help us in a certain aspect of gambling no matter how we try. It is smartness in choosing and playing that will be able to help.
729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online casino gambling is more of profit chasers while land base is more of fun on: April 13, 2024, 07:27:05 PM
What is your opinion towards my research that online casino gambling has more of possesed players who stakes to make profits while the land base gambling is more of players who stakes for funs?
Well, for me, it depends on your definition of land-based casinos because it is not all of them that have those features and functions that will be so different from the online casinos to warrant us calling them better when it comes to entertainment/fun which are the Extras needed in gambling. In my country, and particularly in the city where I am now, you will hardly see a street where you won't see at least 3 physical casinos. But these casinos are just small structures, they serve as alternatives for those who do not have access to online casinos for one reason or the other since these casinos also have their presence online. It's just a means to bring them closer to people.

There are no Extras here, nothing, it is almost the same experience as that of online casinos. You will go there, give the agent your preference/choice, the agent will then input it, collect the money from you and you wait for the result or you come back for the result as the case may be. How boring is that? Why not do it at home at your convenience yourself?

This is of course different from some big physical casinos where you will get virtually everything called Entertainment. But such casinos are not just located anyhow. You will hardly find them in every place to warrant people going there all the time to have fun and gain that Extras needed in the casino. There is no way most people will not opt for online casinos since they are the closest to them when most of the small physical ones can't offer the Extras needed.
730  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: April 13, 2024, 07:11:12 PM
The reason why I'm not addicted to gambling is because even before I started to play gambling I already understand gambling and its addiction, and my understanding has helped me on how to follow up gambling. Sometimes I ask myself why do people get addicted to gambling, is it because they have no understanding or awareness about the addiction of gamble.

I think majority of people who are addicted to gambling is because they do not understand gambling as beginners, the rules and the side effects of playing gambling excessively.

I think if gambling companies can help to giving beginners to understand gambling and addiction it will help and reduce the rate at which people get addicted o gambling, I mean good lesson for people to get understanding.  Or do gambling companies benefit from gamblers who are addicted, which the awareness of getting addicted can affect their business?.
Indeed, one's effort to participate in gambling should always be appreciated. Gambling is primarily for entertainment. People who love entertainment and like to be entertained love to gamble but some people get addicted to this entertainment game. Those who find this game too easy and a means of earning money become more addicted. It completely destroys life. I would like to tell every new and old gambler that gambling should be used as entertainment, not as a means of making money and that a fixed budget of income should be used in gambling so that if it is lost there is no pain in oneself. A person will never become addicted to gambling if he does not develop a plan in his mind after losing.
After newbies get involved in gambling, their interest in gambling increases. They also think far-fetched about gambling. At some point gambling starts to be thought of as a money making scheme which at some point leads to addiction. While old gamblers can control themselves, it is difficult for beginners to control. As long as a new gambler adequate money, they plan gambling excessively. A few points I would suggest to beginners are: A gambler must set his limits. Avoid gambling beyond a certain period of time. Gambling should be removed from consideration as a source of income. Before gambling a gambler should limit his gambling area. If a gambler can do these things carefully then he will be able to do responsible gambling.
Gambling is not child's play but the issue is that people often take it lightly, and hence the reason for the ugly experiences most times. "Forewarned is forearmed," which makes education about gambling priceless, but it's unfortunate that most gamblers take this for granted and they pay dearly for it. If beginners know of the issues ahead of them in gambling, they will plan better about it to halt the issue and will never be desperate towards the money in gambling not to mention of being addicted to it. They would have known the issues of some gamblers in the past and used their bitter experience to avoid issues for themselves. But gamblers often start without any knowledge, and if they are not naturally cautious and wise, there is no way the issue will not be pronounced against them.

We should continue to be better gamblers whether we are new or old, it is never too late. Gambling has to be approached politely and responsibly. We should use the right amount of money and never allow desperation for the money to affect us. And if we need money indeed, gambling is not the right door to knock on, and I must say it is one of the reasons people often fail through it when they turn to it for the money. Gamblers must also acknowledge that it is a place where luck has a very high stake, so it is not an automatic way of making money like businesses and investments. Due to this, the protection of the account of the gambler and their psychology are so important among others. These keeps gamblers going if their expectations are not fast coming to light.
731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is gambling to you, a fanfare or potential financial havoc? on: April 13, 2024, 06:49:52 PM
How can one draw a line between having fun and getting addicted since they occurr in the same process?
We all gamble but our purpose and mindsets towards gambling vary, so it is this mindset and purpose that determine our motives for gambling and what we derive from it as well. If you want fun in gambling, there is a way you approach it and the losses incurred in it will not be hurtful, especially if you are such that is wise enough to plan the risk effectively. Those seeking fun in gambling might just gamble about $3 in the whole session, so by virtue of this small amount, they are not hurt and the losses may not be an issue. This may even be viewed as a means to access the funfilled service directly.

I do this a lot and it is fun indeed. But if it is about the money and the money is not coming forth when the gambler is always losing, this can't be funny and such a gambler will surely frown his face at the situation. However, with both the fun and money-making in gambling, addiction may occur. whereas, many mistake the addiction for fun derivation, but in practice, it may happen if you make gambling your hobby and you don't make any effort to be cautious about it or control it. Of course, it will control you.

Would education on gambling side effect help some people nor to get too engaged in it despite the thrilling experience it can offer?
[/color]
Education about gambling is not to scare people away in my opinion but to let them know the impending danger of not gambling rightly. This education is even advisable so that the gambler knows what to face ahead and plans towards it. If many had been educated about gambling beforehand, they might have not been victims the way they are today. They would have been more cautious and believed that it is not the place to seek desperate money like many do which leads to desperation and addiction that are frustrating.
732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING DISORDER on: April 13, 2024, 06:35:02 PM
OP, if you are in it to make money from gambling and you think gambling will make you rich or change your lifestyle then you can't stop yourself from gambling. If you think you can stop yourself from gambling but you can't control it, don't be disappointed. You can never call this situation a disorder rather it will be a challenge for you. You first try to stop yourself from gambling slowly and then you will see that you have been able to stop yourself from gambling for a long time. If you are still unable to abstain then you can consult a psychologist and you can do family rehabilitation as well as meditation if needed.
What the OP wrote that made me so curious is the Spirit part, how is that even possible? Well, our countries vary, and so do our traditions and beliefs, but still, it will be nice if we stick to the physical realm so that we do not relate what is not there as though there. Well, I will not deny that I'd thought about that in trading many times too until I found the right means of doing it better, nothing is spiritual here. This is why I would like to encourage anyone going through a tough time in gambling to also look at the two important points, which are; 1. They need to locate the rightful skills that will be strong enough to deliver the best to them, and 2. Access gambling as what it is.

In the first part, one can go for the best learning and get to keep their trading psychology intact and also manage their trading portfolio. These are doable and such that are within their power. So, they should be done rightly even as they are cautious about gambling. But for the second part, it might be beyond the limit of the gambler most times. For accepting gambling as it is, we can't eliminate the fact that luck is important here. Can we control luck? That's not possible, that is one of what we accept as a fact but use management to cover for some excess in case the luck is not forthcoming as expected.
733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you consider yourself, the family and gambling? on: April 13, 2024, 04:19:11 PM
1. At what age will you allow your child to start gambling? that is if you will even allow for that at all?
Actually, I won't allow my child to gamble, that's because I'm afraid of the negative impact it will have on my child's life. Like addiction and wasting money just to gamble, it will ruin his life. But if my child wants to try gambling, maybe I will allow it when he is 21 years old because I think this is the ideal age. And I will help my child to control himself in gambling so that he doesn't become addicted.
And you think once your child starts gambling he/she will be sincere with you all the way? You must be joking if that is what you think. For a child to be so sincere with the parent after starting gambling is so rare, and of course, depends on the relationship you built with the child. When it comes to money in such a way that it is also affecting the life of the child negatively, that's when they start keeping it from you to avoid you believing they are bad children. But if you are such a very caring and supportive father, maybe the children will open up to you, but this is in rare cases. However, if you already know that your child is gambling, maybe you should once in a while request for his gambling slips and apps, it could be randomly done after 6 months so that you will be able to bring in parenting advice for a guide.

Nonetheless, as you are doing this to curb excesses, why not also try to keep giving the child financial support and advice that would make him/her know that the real success of life is not in gambling but in real-life activity and successful career-building elsewhere? Gambling is just a way to earn passive income but also an activity that is dangerous and damning. If a child knows this from the beginning, he/she might be cautious and conscious towards it and build a good foundation that will make him only see it as an extra way of life and not the main one. This will not cause some core attachment to it which often leads to desperation of seeking financial breakthroughs through gambling. With this, such a child will always look elsewhere to build a career.
734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making decisions while betting on: April 13, 2024, 03:38:32 PM
Regulating emotions while betting is crucial to avoid impulsive decisions and potential financial losses. It's important because strong emotions can cloud judgment, leading to choices not based on logic or strategy. Techniques such as setting clear limits, taking breaks, and practicing mindfulness can help maintain emotional control. This emotional regulation ensures that betting remains a form of entertainment rather than a harmful habit.

I believe the control of emotions is everything when it's come to gambling and the failure to control it is what leads to many gamblers getting lost or frustrated in the act sometimes you might start up with good intentions of gambling "playing for fun" but at the long run of everything you might just end up losing because of the lack of control over a particular loses or series of losses because sometimes it's the losing spree that triggers the change of emotion and if you as a gambler fail to recognize this then you got the whole thing wrong.
This thing about control, self-control and everything that has to do with emotions and I am trying to control it, I think it can be done when you use little money in a casino, it is easier, because if the money runs out there are two lessons left, the first It is the management of money and the second is emotions, not playing because I feel like a winner but playing because I really have the possibility of winning, and of making a difference, that is why it is better to seek control in everything, an upright player is one who can know how to control yourself and not lose too much money when you play, and you must also know how to withdraw from the game and not make mistakes without money. It is more difficult to be without money, but being with money gives us the option to do everything, even to continue playing.
Easier to be said than done. But you know what, what you have said about how easy it is to have this self-control or anything about controlling one's emotion, it is not something you can easily do if you are really in that situation. That's more of the reason why we see a lot of people going out of the casino having a huge debt or completely zeroing their accounts due to being unable to control their emotions. It's one of the hardest things to do when it comes to gambling. Unless you are an experienced gambler who already has a realization and knows what needs to be done in that kind of situation.
@danadc has said it in the very best way if I must say, and a gambler who thinks and acts like him will hardly have issues in his gambling efforts. In summary, what I read from him is that a gambler should be mindful of his gambling exercise, and do not think highly of himself, but lowly, neutrally and cautiously since no one is sure to win in gambling, and the gambler must be sure that he pursues it slowly with self-control and management. I do not think a gambler needs more than that to play safely. To you, this might be easier said than done, but mindset matters here, even as good advice has been issued already, it is now left to anyone reading it to do it or not. If I must say, he actually narrated my mind towards gambling and that is what I actually do. So it is not only easier than said as you claimed, it is doable too.

It all takes a good and informed mindset to start with even before the gambling starts at all. In the beginning, if a gambler is not too self-believing and does not care about winning big money in desperation, this advice is actually easy to actualise unless the gambler is only pretending. Above all, it is our choice to do the right or wrong thing in gambling, the emotion and other evil in gambling are there to cause issues for us, and so are the good things that can be done to avoid the evil and even be managerial and proactive gamblers. The choice is ours and I fully support what @danadc advice if one can do it.
735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Double your money and quite on: April 13, 2024, 03:09:52 PM
I don't enter with the intention to double my money and quit, as that might lead to me losing all the money to gambling before I realise it. Doubling it might be a little difficult for me, especially as I like going bit by bit with my deposited fun in a casino.  Doubling it might not be easy, but I try sometimes to add a little amount to it.

I mean, the amount I have deposited most times I just play my favourite games. By doing that, I can also target those odds that can give me a small winning and I can profit. That is why having fun is important. I have doubled my money on gambling before, but I never went in there with the intention to make it double, but those days are just usually my lucky days.
You are wise my friend, having the mind of doubling our money in gambling can only put us in trouble, and you can imagine the OP, this is to be done in every session of his gambling, is gambling that cheap? This mindset can even increase our blood pressure if care is not taken, as it is not the way to maintain a calm mind especially when the gambler has started the quest but over time was losing, which will increase his anxiety, and that will lead to desperation, the desperation will become a frustration and that can't end in a good story like depression which we never prayed for. I love to keep up with the right mindset of neutrality when I want to gamble, and if it is the physical casino, I do not plan to win, I only plan to try my luck.

This mindset alone helps me to limit my gambling risks so that I will not get there and behave like a superhero who knows it all. In the end, such people are always regretting when it comes to gambling. And if it is on my gambling platform, I make sure that I wager my regularly divided amount of money based on the whole funds in my account to keep my mindset of gambling cool. This is because I gamble for fun in my casino betting and for the effort to make money in my sports betting, so I must maintain the plan with a calm mind. This helps me to be mindful of the session and plan I want to use for me to gamble proportionately based on my plan and the calculated risk and management. This also includes the budget per session and the plan on the maximum amount I can afford to lose by session.

This is better than believing I can always double my money in all gambling sessions. That must be a very perfect gambler's mindset which does not exist.
736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler lost what he couldn't afford to lost and broke his TV after game Lost on: April 13, 2024, 02:52:27 PM
Now this is the case,  leveraging much on a bet and putting your expectations to conquer you. I know emotions can't be eliminated but Can be reduced. When one gamble, gamble based on your risk tolerance and allow the bet decide understand the fact that you nothing is predictable and be ready to accept any outcome.

If you don't trust yourself, don't go in. Forget the odds, or potential winnings, set limits. The truth comes when the gambler accept he can't control the outcome and is ready to lose his money and accept any outcome regardless. So before you bet ask yourself if you are ready to lose that money?

When we take actions based on emotion the later outcome is always regret. Dust off yourself and move on.  Don't allow expectations consume you, always consider the risk before the win.
Overconfidence is your keyword here. That's the issue with "secured" or "guaranteed" bets; there's no such thing, and I believe we've all encountered something similar that was completely unexpected. The truth is, there are no guarantees when you're betting. I've been burned in the past; it's reasonable to feel mad or frustrated, but how well you control your reaction is up to you. Going as far as breaking stuff is a problematic and abusive behavior, which may have a deeper meaning as well, perhaps meaning a violent person or one who's unable to manage their feelings and themselves. And now what? $1.000 lost, and who knows how much more to replace the TV—something completely unnecessary.
You are on point but I would rather label this stupidity rather than overconfidence, the two are not the same thing even though they still fit in this context, only that one outweighs the other. This is what I can only resort to in this context as I think of it over and over again, because that guy could not afford to lose the money, nevertheless, he went on to gamble it, so that's stupid. Gambling is not as bad as many think about it but the gamblers engaging in it are the unwise ones doing unspeakable things that make people label gambling bad. Gambling is never a do-or-die thing, so why try to believe that it is your last hope?

This is the way those who are risking what they can't afford to lose think and behave, but this must stop to avoid persistent issues for them. We should endeavour to gamble what we can afford to lose, manage our psychology in gambling and also have good management towards the portfolio. But it is sad that many people know all these but will still go ahead to gamble by overlooking all the warnings. This can only happen because of stupidity and nothing else.
737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Patience can help alot on: April 13, 2024, 02:29:08 PM
Not only patience can help a lot in preventing big lost amounts of money but it can also help in making you finding the courage to quit forever the gambling which is a major feat that most people are unable to do until the end of their life. However for this major feat to happen it needs to hit someone hard,a really big amount of money lost that can pull the trigger and the desire to achieve such feat, personally to me it happened just that,a trigger of this nature and it is almost one month without gambling.

Patience also aids the need of every participant to think about and prepare for their next decision. Whether is it good for them so they make that bet or it is better to slide that one opportunity because there is a high risk involve. It allows the bettor to evaluate their bets before putting it. And if not, the gambler may make their decisions impulsively, they bet too large, they bet out of boredom and ending up losing their hard-earned money. It's all gamble. If you chosen not to participate, then there's risk to miss a winning opportunity. If you wish to get in, then there's a risk to lose your money.
Yes, be patient and calm in playing and see the opportunities in each round, how do we make decisions regarding betting risks in playing? Everyone definitely has their own way of betting and skills in reading the conditions of a round. This can minimize huge losses and we can get the desired results in gambling.
This patience of a thing is easy to say but not easy to accomplish, it is such that is a virtue and helpful in a way, but never what will actually help you to gain in gambling. Patience can also be let go no matter how dedicated you think you are, so if we are talking about patience and also want to actualise it, we should endeavour not to slack in other criteria that will help us be good gamblers. I've read enough on this thread hyping patience so well but never helped them since gambling is beyond that, and the way people pretend about this is much. In reality, you would see that they are always abandoning it because it is not a direct means that can earn them money when betting.

You can imagine the gambler who believes he is patient but couldn't win an encouraging bet for a whole 6 months having wagering a sizable amount of money monthly, do you think such can still be patient? Except he is such a person who is gambling for fun or does not just think about the money, if not, such will never be patient having wasted money for that long with nothing to show for it. Owning to this, when we are patient, we should be reasonable with it, we should have good plans on our gambling budgets and management, and we should also pray for luck and do the needful when it comes to the skills needed to win, and that's if it is possible in the aspect of gambling we are playing.
738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana might be next leading, after Ether & bnb. on: April 13, 2024, 07:31:33 AM
Many said, its gone! But bounce back of solana make surprise everyone. And this time it becomes so developed than before. And it has everything now even it seems, people showing their interest about solana'r projects. That's why projects under solana chain, become so hit and most of the project get successful. Recently Memecoin WIF, BONk, BOME launched through Solana Ecosystem and now leading in crypto industry, even they made lots of people millionaires. Is it coincidence or solana ecosystem is going to lead  After ether and bnb?
How can this ever be a coincidence? It is a commendable work. Solala ecosystem is now a voice to reckon with in the cryptocurrency market, it was a bounce back of an underdog that was formerly rejected (not so rejected though). I like what the brains behind it did in recent years, the upgrade is good and has increased the scalability to make it a viable rival of other blockchains that were formerly the destination of crypto tokens. I believe that more upgrades are coming and will accommodate more outstanding tokens that will be greeted with good performances.

The better future expectations of developers are the reason why they are trooping to the Solana ecosystem now, and the belief of people that for the diverse projects of ETH and BNB to have been so successful the way they were, that of the Solana which is new will always behave similarly. And since Solana is still very low in price compared to them, there is still a big room for it to accommodate more projects that will perform so well.
739  Economy / Economics / Re: Will inflation become big challenge for retired people after 10-20 years? on: April 13, 2024, 06:31:21 AM
It is already causing lot of problems for retired people. How much will this problem intensify in future ?
I like your first statement that acknowledges the plague of inflation on the retirees, there is nothing good about inflation, except for those who are using the advantage to make more money. Inflation affects everybody no matter what they do, especially times they are no more earning so much from the government or their old employees (depending on the country). In this sense, they would feel it much to the point that they wish they had done things differently when they were young. Even if these people plan for their retirement very well, inflation will devalue the money they saved in decades, which is very bad.

You can imagine in my country, if I view this roughly on average, the retirees who had saved for more than 30 years would have their money devalued by more than 1000 now. This is pathetic and speaks of a country that never plans for its future. Going forward, of course, it would be worse because I have not seen anything rising in price in my country that reverses itself anymore.
740  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: April 12, 2024, 09:48:04 PM
^

There wasn't as much entertainment in my childhood as there is today, so we played card games. At first we played without using money, but when we got older and had the opportunity to have our own pocket money we started playing card games for money. Whether it is good or bad everyone decides for himself, but I think that from that moment I became a gambler and playing without money stopped bringing so much emotion as playing with money. In my opinion, teaching children to gamble is not the best idea, because in any case they will come to the fact that they will play for money. I think it is better to teach children how to multiply money and that you should strive to make your money work for you, not you work for money.

If we would get addicted to what we were doing in childhood, then the world would consist from firefighters, astronauts, bandits, doctors and sellers behind the cashdesk. I was not spoiled by variety of games, toys and entertainment in my childhood either. As well as I played cards, rock-paper-scissors and other games, and from time to time used money to bet. We also had football tournament with money prize hood vs hood. Where teams consist of 5-15 yo kids. I even used to search and collect bottles, to exchange them for money, bought chewing gums and gambled with it (to win more gums and get stickers from it). I was doing the same everything other kids did that time. Thus, somehow there is no big passion to gambling today. I am definitely not interested to make money with.

Again, gambled a lot (if this can be called gambling) when was a kid, low interesting to gambling today. Rather strange, isnt it? Because almost everyone among 50 pages would say that my parents were bad at parenting, and I would have grown into gambling junkie.

I think it's not just about parenting. It's about attitude to finances, which is formed not only by parents, but throughout our lives. In my childhood my parents tried to limit me from gambling for money, but as we can see after a certain time it did not help much.

Also a lot depends on responsibility, which with each passing year becomes more and more. At least if earlier I could spend half of my salary on gambling, now I categorically will not do it.
We can't ignore the right parenting here, and in your case, whether it yielded or not, your parents tried their best as parents, it is now left to you to yield. In gambling and in life generally, we cannot neglect the importance of parenting, but still, the environment we find ourselves in and the kind of friend we keep matters so well, as they may not allow the effect of good parenting to show. Parenting as we know it is a vast task that many parents err in and I must tell you that it shapes the life and destiny of children so much. It can mould it for the better or for the worse, and if you are sincere, you know that even though you might have been stubborn when your parents were putting you through towards the right path, but later, you changed for a good leave.

This is not because you naturally want to change, but as you get more mature, what your parents had set your mind on as the right path comes ringing in your head indirectly, and this made you choose the right path eventually. And for the conscience playing its part here, you later did the right thing as well. This is a simple trick that helps us to choose between right and wrong even if we do not know why we are avoiding the bad for the good. However, if your parents had done otherwise or had been so bad, you may see the wrongdoing as the right way of life.
