Nice one Bram! I have just posted.

I will be updating the timeline tonight, sorry been slacking on that this week I have had a crazy week at work.

I will give our latest acceptants a face, not done yet, I think.

http://jaagers.com is accepting NLG payment for work.

Both welcome!  Cool

Where does it say Jaagers is a merchant? They are not a merchant, they simply offer companies to install Guldencoin at their place of business. That's it. Do not add them to the list of merchants, or verify with them to make sure. There's no information on their website about Jaagers accepting it. Only this blog about them offering the installation to companies - http://jaagers.com/betalen-met-guldencoin/#

I guess clevermining is following this topic also and aren't happy with the ip ban talk  Tongue they went from 42% this afternoon to almost 52% right now.

Yeah, I noticed that as well. Could also be due to the temporarily higher rate at bittrex.

Either one wouldn't surprise me Wink

Hello everyone!

Just a quick update, for those who did not already know, my father and i are writing an article for a dutch magazine about Guldencoin and digital currency in general. I will post more updates later on.

Love it. I just tipped some media about Cafι Bommel with a press release of mine. Hope that is incentive for these journalists to get some interview going like we had for Subway Leeuwarden and Cafetaria De Prins in Amsterdam Smiley.

First, Investeerder... enough already.  You're sounding like a broken record.  Go FUD elsewhere.  In fact I would seriously consider paying you to go FUD elsewhere.

Second, thanks for the support, Biomike.  Not only for the Criptoe pool, but for the overall network hashrate you have provided for network.  If we didn't have members of the community like yourself stepping up and making these choices, Clever would continue to rape this coin.

Which brings me to my last point.  Why are we seriously still allowing clever to mine NLG?  We have community members spending money to negate their influence on the coin.  When someone has cancer, you don't say, "oh, well lets change your diet and see if that helps".  No... you go after it aggressively.  You nuke the cancer out of existence, and then you change your habits.  IP block clevermining.  It's not centralizing anything.  Quite opposite of that.  Clever controls too much of the network without community buy-in.  They centralize this coin.  It's a cancer that has plagued us for too long, and I honestly don't see why we can't mitigate their effects right now.  IP block clever, let the price be what it would without 50% daily sellout, and let's finally move on.

-Fuse

On the bolded parts I agree 100%.

Regarding the algorithm change because the community is being put under strain with long block times, if /GeertJohan says he will take another 3-6 months then I will buy some hashing power and support the network but if hes going to be another 2 weeks then we can leave things as is.

Fair points in my opinion. We've discussed the possibility of blocking their IP's before, there were some concerns at the time because it can be worked around quite easily by Clevermining. But I can understand if the community feels it should be done. Let's just hope that Terk doesn't decide to unleash his 80GHs through a workaround to fuck us up if we do decide to block their IP's from the network.

Next resistance will be around 1800-1900 sat (I have a lot of large orders around that point as a result of pushing clevermining below 50%).

When Sushichef is back in town we will reach that in a whimp, I guess. He brought in Wijnpakhuis.nl isn't it?

.. sold some to invest else were so I can go Χ5 - Χ10 and bring in more

Still am a millionaire haha

Let him come. I need the BTC to sustain the hash rate to keep clevermining down.

Is this something you are doing until the algorithm change takes place?

A lot of us are doing it, but BioMike buys a lot of hashpower for us, at least as far as I know correct me if I am wrong Wink, maybe more do it on a larger scale. I heard something about LTEX and the 1680's doing the same. Smiley Check and read http://www.projectgulden.nl/237/hoe-mine-je-guldencoin/

Start a campaign by distributing NLG to opened wallets in a given time period, wallets with an IP from The Netherlands, limited to 1 wallet per certain IP range

I still really like this idea.  Smiley

I would be happier to hear ideas on how to successfully reach the 1,498,388 people to send 100 Guldencoin to that haven't requested their share yet. There are about 2-3 requests every day. Which isn't a lot, obviously. We'd need to see about 3000-4000 unique valid requests a day for the coins to be sent out within 12 months. How are we going to facilitate that? That would definitely grow a steady user-base and a steadily active community. In my opinion, it doesn't make sense to speed up the distribution to open wallets, because that way we keep NLG too small (or am I misunderstanding the concept?). If we want NLG to be worth something with proper stability, we need fresh bodies. How would we go about doing that? Smiley

And remember.. We're kind of on a low budget, unless we are willing to do an IPO to reach thousands of people a certain way. Free publicity works best, but I've tipped 100 Dutch journalists about the RT coverage. But they won't bite. So we have to keep adding tools and services and tell friends and family and see what they think and what they think should happen. Media can't ignore forever, plus buying media coverage isn't a good idea unless it reaches the people we think have the most chance of getting involved.

The network is such an important part of Guldencoin, but it is also a tiny piece of the overall success. I also find the network update taking quite long, but I have complete faith in a solution. Long-term and if you're not good with long-term, that's ok, there are other ways to earn a little money and keep NLG on the side if you don't want to do so much work. But know that there are people doing work for NLG every day.

The team is an important part of Guldencoin and they've started it all and they're still here. No doubt GJ is a great coder, it is something I can not do for sure. I would love to offer a brilliant solution to our network and the feedback given from the community to get to a solution is priceless. I am not worried, even if it takes a little longer then we'd like. We'll get there. Rome wasn't built in a day and Guldencoin will still be here in 10-20-40-50+ years time.

If marketing and getting people involved was easy, we'd have 20,000 users already. iOS and the algo are two things that need solving, but aren't the only things that would make NLG a success. There will always be something to fix or to improve. Hope you all realize that. And yes. I would've liked to see iOS sent to the App Store as well. Sooner the better. There's a small chance we'll get in, but hey, we need to do it so we can move on.

I for one have lot's of cool news coming for NLG, but it takes time..

I'm confident that we'll continue to move forward and I can understand most of your impatience, because it is taking quite long to fix the algorithm. The thing is, changing the algorithm or the entire scrypt-aspect will also have a huge impact on current users and miners. It's not an easy decision. And going full-pos for example is not a solution either in my opinion. POS has a ton of flaws and bugs that I don't really like. Not for Guldencoin anyway. Scrypt with the proper DGW3 or other type of algo would work perfectly. All I can have is patience when it comes to this. And that sucks, but that's the reality. But even with this on our plates, there are still developments for NLG. Developments that went unnoticed or unappreciated. New merchants, new websites and our first charity to accept Guldencoin donations. Progress will always be there, even if some things take longer than we'd like them to. That's life.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and realizes there is no reason to panic at all. We'll be fine Smiley

It's one conversation people, maybe stop speculating and just wait for an explanation from the people involved and thιn make your decision to scream or calm down. There is nothing to worry about.

Weren't you checking the E-Gulden (EFL) instead? They have 5M available..

Oh shit, I guess so.....Hope you guys aren't offended having so dump investors around.

It happens Wink - NLG's coinmarketcap: http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/guldencoin/ we rank #57 at the moment.

We would have a pretty high and stable price, but growth comes with growing pains. I'm excited for people to know your project Fuse. Very cool stuff Smiley

I feel your 'pain' when it comes to letting know what the projects you're working on are about, #dowork and post the results Wink

Where can I use this ATM in Netherlands?

You can't yet for Guldencoin, development is tricky. I don't know why Bram would choose to mention it now. As it's not live yet.

I wonder how long it's going to take for the Dutch media to pick this up!

Let's tip them Wink I sent an e-mail to my press contacts with this at Dutch media. We'll see Smiley Feel free to do the same if you know anyone or just send to general media e-mails or call SBS or RTL's tip-line.

Can someone point me in the right direction to a good place to purchase bitcoin with a debit card in the u.s.? I have no more btc to buy more slg. thanks
bitcoin.de
www.kraken.com
Thanks! I just found Coin.Mx, have you heard much about this exchange?

You can always purchase SLG directly from LiteBit. Simply create an account and you can then even purchase from within the wallet.
Yeah, I see that. There is only 3.5 slg available for sale at $0.70, which is a little to expensive at the moment. Although I do see slg valued at that price one day  Wink

Their price is now based on x 100. So when you enter "3.5" to buy you are buying 350 SLG. Hope that helps? You can always contact Litebit's support if you have questions Smiley

They caused hashing problems with bitcoin in the past (>51% hash rate), compared to them clevermining is peanuts... do we really want that?

It wasn't problems with Bitcoin and Ghash/Cex.io was it? It was the fact that they have so much hash added to the network that they could launch an attack but swore they never would. Clevermining is a multipool that only mines when it's most profitable, Cex.io isn't a multipool that works this way I believe?

Sure, they are not the same. But, it all comes down to trust (how much do you trust the words of a/any pool owner that they wouldn't do a 51% attack). >51% is something no pool should be able to get at one point, that would be the best. We are currently unable to cope with clevermining's hashing capabilities... my worries are that things would get worse if Cex.io will start mining NLG. But, I could be wrong.

Fair enough. Oh and Sven, Litecoin is mined there as well Wink That should answer your question. Also I doubt that Ghash would add more than 5GHs to NLG if they were to add mining of NLG. They would probably only add it to the trading section. Like NMC, AUR and some others that they don't support mining for in their systems.
