721  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how can the community support newcomers in navigating the crypto space? on: December 16, 2023, 08:27:34 AM
There are many ways that the crypto community can support newcomers. Here are a few ideas:
- Welcome newcomers to the community and offer to answer any questions they may have.
- Provide helpful resources, such as guides, articles, and videos about crypto basics.
- Encourage newcomers to participate in discussions and ask questions.
- Help newcomers find a mentor or someone they can learn from.
- Be patient and understanding as newcomers learn the ropes.
With a little support and encouragement, newcomers can feel more comfortable and confident in navigating the crypto space. What do you think?
Do you have any ideas to add to the list  :
is their anything you've listed here that is not provided to new comers by members of the forum? To the best oft knowledge, Amy newbie that just joined the forum and create a thread requesting for help from forum members, it's always provided to him with immediate effect.

Talking about mentors, if the newbie is intentional about his growth not just in this forum but including in his crypto journey, their are. Loads of individual and senior member in the forum he can decide to learn from ny observing the kind of threads and replied given by them. Mentorship doesn't always suggest that you have to single out a person out for that particular purpose, it could be that you just like the way a particular person does things and you follow his footsteps by careful observation.
722  Economy / Economics / Re: Food for thought on: December 16, 2023, 07:57:24 AM
For those working for government or an entity, try  to  start a small business and grow it gradually while still doing your 9am- 5pm job.

We might not feel the importance of it until we have been lay off from the job.
I have a question for those working for an entity or government, if you are being sacked today, what will be your faith? Will you still be financially strong, can your other sources of income keeps you going or you will be devastated by the loss of your job.

In this current economy, it's suicidal to have only one source of income.
If you must live well you must be ready to grab the bull by his horn am make life changing decisions by having more than one source of income.
Don't put your financial destiny in the hands of your bosses, you might not know the importance of having your own business till you have been sacked. think about it.
the world has grown past that stage when a single source of income will be enough to sustain someone. For you to effectively take care of yourself and not run Into always being without funds, you need at least three active streams of income which should comprise of your online earnings, the job you're doing and a business or investment you are making to fall back to in the even of unforeseen circumstances happening.

Apart from enduring that your have multiple streams of income, you also need to have several skills that are very relevant so if one isn't paying you at the moment, you can easily switch to the next one.

The covid has thought me a lot of season that anything can happen to anybody if proper plan is not on ground. Some rich persons became very poor because the covid disrupted their means of livelihood and they had to literally start from scratch. Depending on a single stream of income will only put you in a condition of borrowing to offset most of your bills and it gets even worse when your source of income is from the civil service angle that are very good at owing people.
723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Young student teaching his classmates about Bitcoin on: December 16, 2023, 07:46:49 AM
Bitcoin has gained popularity across the globe and countries that don't even accept it adoption have starting embracing it and it usage is becoming very rampant of recent.

I could remember a similar instance as this while I was in my second year at high school when someone came to lecture us on the subject he tagged "money 105" he taught us a lot on the value of money and then pitched his lectures on the advantages bitcoin has over the fiat currency and that is basically my first encounter with bitcoin and that is how I even got to know that bitcoin existed.

Talking to our friend and our course mate is one way of spreading the news about Bitcoin to our society and even though some of them might not be interested in at the try moment, you've successfully sowed a seed into their heart.

Afraid is catching me 🥺, God please help me , my life savings is at stake here,
What is happening to kuda app  na?
Where do I go from here 😪
i don't find it all that reasonable to save a huge amount of money in most of this mobile apps that don't have a physical location at the moment. It's understandable to keep one's savings in the bank since they've proven to be trustworthy to a reasonable extent but saving much amount of money in a micro finance bank is a no no for me.

What I do most of the time is that I save only the amount I need for my weekly expenses and the rest is left in the normal bank to avoid stories that torches the heart.
725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Advertising Community on: December 15, 2023, 05:29:04 PM
A new community that focuses on the mass promotion of not so well known, quality altcoins.

Join us on Discord

FilipBullRun
so I should just join the community without knowing how you run your promotion? This board has already been designed to serve the purpose your intended discord community is hoping to meet and with tyevwealh of experience members of this board have, I don't think that it is necessary to source for a different platform to get the same information  I can get from this plate. But regardless, I wish you the best luck out their.

727  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let Bitcoin Help You Get a Girlfriend (Boyfriend) on: December 15, 2023, 05:09:13 PM
If you're a Bitcoin enthusiast who is single as a Pringle because you're stuck in your apartment reading and keeping up with the latest in the Bitcoin space while helping the community grow and do whatever it is that bitcoiners do.

Or perhaps you've lost your charm, and you're looking for a good pickup line; this new Bitcoin ad will help you find girlfriends (boyfriends) during the upcoming bull run.

Go watch it and tell me if it is something that can work for you.
https://twitter.com/hrtlndbitcoin/status/1732481276920078394?t=sCau_faVt1dLOTZThnIl4w&s=19
the ad is damn boring!!!!
I mean, their are better ways to do stuff like this that could send the intended message within some couple of moment.

In reality, if you meet a random girl and try this on her, most of them will shun you off because that's obviously a rude way to start up a conversation with a lady.
728  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / [Solved] Let's always protect Our reputation: on: December 15, 2023, 05:12:02 AM
We know say nija na big force when tander gidigba for any sector when we de involved in and we de pull serious weight even for this forum and I believe say most of us fit attest to that fact.

E no go make sense say as we de pull this kind weight, we go still be the ones when go de tarnish our own image by speaking ill of our country or even painting a bad image of our country to people through the kind of threads we create in other board that goes to downgrade us as a section in the forum..

If you observe am well you go notice say na some of the new members when just join the forum na them de mostly go de yarn anyhow for boards and them go just easily attach nija to their post without considering the effect it will have on the reputation of our country and on our board.

I created this thread because of one post I been see like that when the guy de talk say bitcointalk na source of wealth creation for Nigerian youth, him no even post am for we local board o, him carry am go drop for economy and I feel say this one no project our image in the right way.

I just want advice say as we de try bring our people come the forum, make we try de guide them well so de no go come put sand for our garri through their post in the forum.

Na the link to the thread be this. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5477748.0
729  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Almost broke my heart on: December 15, 2023, 04:37:55 AM
Oo bless God , kuda is back, better and smarter, them nearly send me go village ☺️☺️
just a friendly observation, try and avoid making a thread of this nature. It might be considered spam and might be deleted in some board. If you have an information or or idea you want to share, learn how to write it in an engaging and matured way so as to pass a comprehensive information to the reader.

Understand that it's not everyone that uses kuda and so, some might not even know what had happened to kuda and just making a one lined statement like the one you just did won't give someone the right clue on the subject you are writing on.

I found this post bellow very helpful while writing and I think you should go through it and come back next time with a matured and more enriching thread.

730  Other / Off-topic / Re: Simple advice, don't get carried away by people success stories. on: December 15, 2023, 04:24:34 AM
The issue with people painting a picture of their success in the crypto journey is that most of them only tell the story on the part that gave them success but wouldn't want to share their failures or the process that yielded this success.

Success is not just a one day journey but it's actually an accumulation of decisions and actions that yielded a certain result at a certain time that conforms to a quality tagged "success".

While you get motivated and excited about the success of another, try to find out the stories behind the success and let it guide you in making informed decision that will see you to achieving a similar level of success
731  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Back to loss glory on: December 15, 2023, 04:15:50 AM
This is the other side of the serious negative impact of technology on the society at large. Children don't even enjoy the experience of their childhood because they are mostly locked up inside their apartment after school and the closest friend and neighbour mist of them have is the tv. If you've stayed in some residential areas, you will be amazed at how people will be staying together in the same environment without knowing their names. everyone is focusing on his or her a child and if you try to correct another child, it might land you in big trouble.

Truly, a lot has change about children's upbringing.
732  Economy / Economics / Re: Retirement Age for Workers - Does this Make Sense? on: December 15, 2023, 04:04:54 AM
what I think is that the government shouldn't shove it down the throat of people. Workers who are approaching retirement age should be given a choice after appraisal to keep working or retire.
one of the reason why we don't see much vacancy I recent is because most people have refused to retire and give way to the younger folks to piloting the affairs I firms and organisations. Increasing tye retirement age for workers won't do them any good, for crying out loud, you've worked for 40+ years and you are already in your 60s what do you still want in the service?

If you give most people the option of retiring or to continue working, they will comfortably choose not to retire because most of them don't even have an investment to run back to and they are not even sue that their pension would be paid to them at the end of their service year.
733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All thanks to my family they contributed and bought bitcoin for me on: December 15, 2023, 03:52:34 AM
This is a good way to start lad!

It's good your parent came through for you in making sure you are able to buy your Bitcoin and I can only imagine how rewarding and happy it must have been for you seeing that you have a support system that has brought you dreams through.

Accumulating an $100 worth of Bitcoin isn't a small feet to be honest, it might look too small for some people but I tell you it marks the beginning of a great journey that lues ahead of you in the future. When you start accumulating bigger amount if bitcoin, you will look back to this day that you made your first purchase and you will smile and be happy you did.
734  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How do you handle borrowers? on: December 14, 2023, 06:22:57 PM
How do you deal with the situation where people who you are close to like family and friends are constantly demanding for one kind of financial assistance or the other. It is not possible to help everyone, so how do you handle it and make sure that giving and trying to help people do not turn into a problem for you. How about people who borrow money from you and never return it or even show any effort to make payment back to you, how did you go about the situation?
rule number one is never to disclose how much you're earning to your relative. It will remove any form of entitlement from them because ones they know how much you re earning, it's going to be very difficult to refuse giving them money since they already know you have the money.

But if you've already given them the money, it's always very difficult to take it back because most of them wouldn't even want to give you back. Whenever I give a relative money, I just convince myself that they won't be paying the money back. If they pay it back, it's good but if not, I meuve
735  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Better way to earn a merit on: December 14, 2023, 04:58:50 PM
It obvious am new here yea am a newbies. What make a post earn a merit ? What are the characteristics of a good post and how do we earn a merit for our post and other activities happening here and how is Bitcoin always important in the forums . So Member, full member, hero member, Lagendary and so on pls let have the tips thanks 🙏❤️ #bitcoin Lords
youre welcome to the forum but let me go straight to the point and inform you that this is not a merit farm and as a beginner, you shouldn't be focused on earning merit as it will definitely become a whole bunch of destruction on it own. The forum is designed to talk about Bitcoin and the only reason why the concept of merit became necessary is to encourage individual that are giving in their time and effort in contributing meaningfully to the growth of the forum. You only get merited when you've made positive contributions to the forum that has helped the next persons doubt to be cleared or when you've shared a meaningful information or insight in the forum.

Engage positively in the forum and merit will come to you by itself but if you chase after merit, it will become very obvious and it might lead you to creating irrelevant topics that might make members of the forum avoid your account.
736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: i need your help, i forget to save the latest word of my seed on: December 14, 2023, 06:53:22 AM
hey guys, i'm  using a wallet from dogecoin and guess what i forget to save the latest word, please is there anything i can do to save ?
how did you forget to save the complete word from your seed phrase? That's a serious problem although if you have it already logged in on your devise you could easily access it.

Your security and access key is not what you should take for granted for any reason. It's as important as any amount of holding you have in your wallet and I just hope your account is already logged if not you might loss your coin forever.
737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from crypto influencers on: December 14, 2023, 06:44:59 AM
Stop following crypto influencers, those of you who like using YouTube videos to pick coins and tokens to invest in you need to hear this, those crypto influencers on YouTube are getting paid to promote those projects they are chilling, why would they promise you 2x or 5x when they aren't part of the team themselves? They did this because that's how they make their own money. He who have hears let him hear.
so many people have fall victims of influencers promoting crypto they know little or nothing about and they just invest into it because are being promoted by their favourite celebrity.

I think we need to understand the difference between being an ambassador of something and actually sharing knowledge from a personal point of view. A lot of people have accumulated shit coin because of the hype by the person that did the promotion.
738  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Can Government ban Bitcoin in Nigeria? on: December 14, 2023, 05:25:53 AM
Government banning Bitcoin in Nigeria totally i think it will not be possible because i found out that Bitcoin is a digital currency in which you can not control but can restrict the usage through a particular country central bank, so i think it will be very difficult for Nigeria government to restrict the youths especially unemployed youths of not participating in anything cryptocurrencies. Even though Bitcoin will be ban in Nigeria i think it will not stop the existence of P2P exchange transactions, so i dont know why most at times many crypto investors get afraid of government banning Bitcoin in particular. i was told that in the two years Nigeria government ban Bitcoin but till date people are still transacting with Bitcoin, it can only be possible for a government if Bitcoin is a centralized currency but since its a decentralized currency and i think that government can only carry out a speculation and fake information about Bitcoin. So in summary government of a particular country dont have the power to ban existence of Bitcoin.
to say that the government of a country can't decide to ban bitcoin and any other cryptocurrency isn't totally true. Th fact that after a restriction has been placed on a articular thing, people still do it doesn't mean it can't be banned. It's true that bitcoin is decentralized and doesn't literally work based on government regulations and interventions but what to should understand is that the government has the power to decide what goes on in her  country and can issue a statement that any one found mining, trading or investing in bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency be arrested. What would you do about that?

The thing I have come t know about the ban on cryptocurrency by the FGN is that they've only disallowed banks from accepting it and demands that crypto funds in their custody be seized, I doubt that any bank will want to go against that directive but since I haven't found a law prohibiting citizens from holding bitcoin or engaging in the trading of bitcoin and any other cryptocurrency, it becomes now reasonable time to still invest and get involved in it without any form of fear.
739  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Nigeria with confusion on: December 14, 2023, 05:14:48 AM
After the fuel subsidy removal.many people started converting their various generator to be gas powered. When the country saw their successes and bravity, they started a slow and steady increment in the price of the gas leaving so many with regret meanwhile deterring others from following the trend.
One advantage of the gas is its inability to produce fumes and extends the lifespan and performance of the engine. But as a saying goes that every thing that has an  advantage must surely have a disadvantage. The disadvantage is that the qauntity and level of the gas can not be gauged or checked. Once the cylinder is epmty, the engine shuts down without letting you know. This has been the principal motive why vehicles are not using it since they can't see the level as not to finish while driving especially on a risky road.
no one is confused , what happening is that people are actually sourcing for alternative ways of remaining in their business by cutting down on expenses that comes their way as a result of the increase in the price of fuel. It's just unfortunate that they have to still consider the use of gas in the midst of the risk associated with it.

E de always pain me say whenever we want talk negative things about our country, we see always get wetin to talk because matters full ground but a situation when you done remove fuel subsidy but no put a reasonable modalities in place in ensuring the things becomes easier for the average man, what do you expect? I even thought that since they know that the price of fuel has seriously gone up that they will even think on making nepa to be coming regular but it even seems that they have even reduced the number of hours that they bring light. Na God go help us sha.
740  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Our savings nai save us on: December 14, 2023, 05:02:17 AM
My country people I dy greet everybody, e get one matter wey dy happen for we country naija now concerning our savings.

Normally when we save na to use am do one thing or the other wey we don plan since tey tey, but due to hunger wey dy the land now,
na dat savings nai dey save us now from hunger, because e no easy because of the high cost of living.

To chop for the country now no easy, na our savings nai dey save us now, some families to see food chop twice in a day na war,
how una see this matter?
if you even try get savings when go fit save you for hard time your own good na. E get some people when no de even fit save because of the kind of work when dem de do.

Saving money is a very good habit that everyone  should practice especially in a country like ours that experiences some different form of hardship every year. Even if your primary purpose of saving is to start up a business or upgrade your life,.
it is better to borrow from your savings than to borrow from an external source.
