721  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does having a lot of investing money make trading for a living much easier? on: October 19, 2020, 04:27:57 PM
I have reviewed some of the responses in the thread and I feel like I have to state the following. "Trading for a living" is extremely broad. We all have different lifestyles. Some of us are more materialist and desire more things like eating out, being opulent with the latest iPhone and gold watches, while others are satisfied with having something to put on the table. Moreover, I'd say that a person who has mastered the skill of trading and is consistently profitable - already has a decent amount of funds available for trading activity OR it should be very easy for him to raise the funds.
722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do hackers steal huge amounts of bitcoins? on: October 19, 2020, 03:22:18 PM
Black hat hackers are very sneaky. If they are at the level which they can do this kind of damage they most likely know how to "roll their bounties" so they are not exposed.
Mixers are one tool and maybe they have a network of "agents" who are getting a share to exchange the BTC through various means. Or DEXes.. There are now so many ways to move the BTC, but of course there is a certain risk of being tracked as always. I guess it is just worth it for them.
723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your Portfolio before and after the pandemic on: October 19, 2020, 01:20:53 PM
I won't offer details about my own portfolio, but I suppose that most people's altcoin portfolio slowed down as the personal flow of income should have reduced due to the worldwide economic hit.

For sure there are exceptions. Some industries flourished due to the pandemic. Anyways, I'd say that due to uncertainty in the society people definitely haven't invested into altcoins, BUT I suspect that Bitcoin has been a strong choice for hedging during crisis.
724  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-10-15] 10% of all bitcoins are concentrated on five exchanges on: October 19, 2020, 12:51:34 PM
The concentration could be lower, but it is a reasonable amount. I'm glad that the high majority of Bitcoins are held in personal wallets (>> hopefully in cold wallets)  Grin

I'm quite surprised that Bitmex or other trading platforms who offer high-leverage are not in the top.  Shocked  Or maybe they weren't included in the study?

725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is unique to man. on: October 18, 2020, 06:01:50 PM
You are wrong. still think negatively about parents, why are you too emotional, modern times like now in remote villages have entered the internet so learning is not affected by age. did you know some of the investors are old people,

There are exceptions in everything of course. I'm sure there are lots of people who are in past middle-age that continue to learn and keep up with technology. And I'm not talking about mere investing (e.g. through a fund), but actual use or holding in a personal wallet. I can confidently say that 90% of the people who are past 70 years old in my country don't know how to use credit cards. Not even talking about installing apps/wallet on a smartphone. On the other hand I've noticed a keen interest in the 40-60 age group in technology.
726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: October 18, 2020, 03:54:51 PM
I've exited already from this dead project! Waves and stratis were neck to neck but waves took over and stratis is left behind because of its poor performance! I lost over 1.5 BTCs in this project but will make it back from elsewhere!
I hope the market situation will change soon. At one time, Stratis was a resounding success. I hope his brainchild BlitzCash and the TVE platform will come to life soon and we will see a new influx of users.

Perhaps this swap to STRAX will be the turning point for this blockchain. Back in the good ol' days the devs were pushing updates like crazy. AFAIK they still have 30 or more employees working on products.
I don't want to get into 'moon' talking, but the promises about the tokenomics sound enticing. Looking forward to see how the team will manage all this.
727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: October 18, 2020, 12:47:05 PM
I'm a noob strat investor and keeping my tokens on exchange. Could someone explain me what will happen to my strat tokens after swap? Should i swap my tokens to Strax?

You can see on the article above that the Token Swap will be supported by several exchange. They haven't mentioned their names yet however you should expect an announcement from the trading platform you hold your toknes on. As a rule of thumb - if you are not actively trading I recommend keeping cryptocurrencies on personal wallet and not on exchanges.  Wink

"We are happy to announce that the Token Swap will be supported by several exchanges. Announcements from the respective exchanges that are supporting the Token Swap will become available in due course, highlighting any deposit and withdrawal freezes of the STRAT Token."
728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why hesitate ???? on: October 18, 2020, 10:45:41 AM
Aren't you familiar with human emotions? In the majority of cases greed is the reason for not taking profits, then it comes the desire to not lose money - so we don't SELL until we are back in profit.

Of course there are the sophisticated investors who invest with a decent risk:reward ratio in mind so it wouldn't make sense for them to sell with 10% profit if their target as per their strategy is 50%, isn't it?
729  Economy / Securities / Re: i am building a online mall,would you invest in it ? on: October 18, 2020, 09:57:22 AM
From a first view it looks like a directory-kind of website where you list different shops/businesses from different industries. The ecommerce market is quite saturated and I really don't think we need a centralized digital space to see all the businesses. I mean, Google makes it so easy for customers. We just search for what we want to buy. Though I'm not a shopaholic... Just my 2 cents man. Maybe you should think about focusing your dev skills on something more constructive.
730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is unique to man. on: October 17, 2020, 05:39:05 PM
This is exactly why it is going to be very hard for old people - especially from ex-communist countries to adapt to Bitcoin. They were raised to think that the government will take care of them - pension, welfare, etc. I'd say that people in capitalist countries are more accustomed to managing their own money. Anyway I strongly believe that decentralization is the next big thing in our society.
731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: clearly we see btc price gaps getting longer and less traders on: October 17, 2020, 02:39:00 PM
With the Feds printing more and more dollars and inflation raising I expect people to try and place at least a part of their income in deflationary assets like Bitcoin and Gold.
The liquidity is not that big, but most of it is now probably represented by big institutional players. We see more and more companies and funds in hopping on the trend. This is a clear sign to me that we're in a kind of healthy, emergent market.
732  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin start Backing USA dollar on: October 17, 2020, 08:27:36 AM
I always thought that giving up the Gold Standard was a bad idea. Now we have a chance to rebuild the health of the financial system by a pegging fiat currencies to Bitcoin - aka the Digital Gold.

Of course this could not happen at all, but it certainly won't happen overnight unless we will assist a worldwide shocking event that will wake us up. However in the event that nations do institute Bitcoin reserves - the price would skyrocket perhaps even above the $1M mark.
733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any Crypto with stable change and good trading volume? on: October 16, 2020, 07:50:42 PM
The example you gave - DOGE - is in my opinion much more riskier than other cryptos out there. The thing is price fluctuations are healthy for a market. If they wouldn't take place then you would see extremely violent moves in the market that would create chaos. IMO you shouldn't look for "stable" coins, but for coins who have a healthy price history. An asset which has stood the test of time has more chances to prevail.
734  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Best Bitcoin Banks of 2020 on: October 16, 2020, 06:50:59 PM
From the five listed in the OP I only know Wirex and Bitwala. I have heard that Wirex is in full expanding after they secured a partnership with Mastercard if I am not mistaken and now they are in the process of raising funds to further accelerate their growth.

I'd have to make some further research to come with an educated answer, though. Smiley
735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is Addictive...Pay Attention to your Gambling Habit!!! on: October 16, 2020, 06:20:25 PM
I think this is all about awareness and education. For me personally gambling is literally a waste of time and money. Perhaps your friends is trying to find a refuge from life in gambling. I think a psychologist and a support group is the best way to go for him if he is not able to find the will to quit in himself.

He must value his time and money, not even talking about his family. If he was my friend I would meet him and have a meaningful discussion with him through which I would make him realise what is really important for him: playing a game or having your life decaying day after day?
736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not store your wallet on the exchange, store it on your crypto wallet. on: October 16, 2020, 05:33:04 PM
Unless you use a regulated exchange with deposit guarantee from a financial authority there is no reason to hold your crypto on a third party platform unless you are an active trader. Even in that case you don't need to hold more than 10-30% - even less on exchanges that offer customers up to 100x.

It is true that you need some basic cybersecurity knowledge to safely store your Bitcoin, but that can be easily acquired in a couple of hours if you put your mind on it.
737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It is not easy to make money in cryptocurrency on: October 15, 2020, 07:11:14 PM
Pigs don't fly, money doesn't grow on trees. You need to bring value and have certain skills in order to earn money. This is how the whole system works. You trade in your time or money for a future benefit. Now... depending on your skills the market puts a value on your time. Remember this when trying to make money in any industry, not just in the cryptocurrency land. Wink
738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin legit or not on: October 15, 2020, 06:54:49 PM
If by legit you mean legal, yes it is. Everything is real about bitcoin from the technology behind it, the code that is built upon to the adoption by institutions, companies and individuals. If you need a written letter from a lawyer that Bitcoin is legal, you don't belong to this place. Cryptocurrencies are about a vision that is changing the world as we speak. This is the reality, like it or not.
739  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I Don't undestood why not use funds to earn stable profit on: October 15, 2020, 05:15:13 PM
You think good traders are those who have connections with whales? That's the one of the big mistakes I hear around in trading communities. I would never give my funds to other people for active management unless they are licensed professionals, not even talking about some shady internet guy who pretends to be a profitable trader.

If one is truly a profitable trader, it wouldn't make sense to look for financing from retail traders. Smiley
740  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is bitcoin just for investors on: October 14, 2020, 05:42:37 PM
Well.. bitcoin is certainly not for investors. There are a lot of local businesses that accept bitcoin and some people actually prefer to pay with it even if it is just for the privacy feature.
Bitcoin is still in an early phase and does not YET benefit from massive institutional liquidity like commodities or forex pairs. This is why we see these sometimes violent price swings. Due to the scarcity of Bitcoins it is not likely that we'll see BTC at these prices when institutions will pour their money into the market.
