721  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mistakes to watch out for on: November 13, 2023, 06:58:37 PM
Biggest mistake of traders is Do not use Stop Loss or Stop Limit orders. Those order types can help them to avoid big loss when the market moves very quickly, crashes with very panic selling from other traders and liquidations from exchanges.

I agree with this, and that was my biggest loss in trading several years ago, always thought the price would go up again and continued to wait for that to happen because I thought selling at a loss is stupid and it turns out that the biggest stupidity of traders is when they don't stop loss, and the strangest thing is that there is a trader who considers himself an expert but advises on his channel not to do stop losses because as long as you haven't sold it, it means you haven't made a loss, and this is the stupidest advice I've ever heard and he said that on altcoin trading.
Obviously, you were totally deceived by this ineffective trader that claims to be expert on his own. Using stop loss is actually more advisable especially if you are trap in the middle of your trading and you have no other choice but to sell just to cut your losses. Yes, you might lose from your trades but know that it's way of preventing yourself from losing a lot.

However, it's not bad to keep on hodling on your coin and decide not to sell because you believed that bitcoin price will continue to surge high. But that's not how bitcoin works. Since it's highly volatile, it's price is more capable to move up and down and sometimes do the sideways. That's the reality about bitcoin. If you can't drive with its volatility, expect that you will really get a hard time on making your trades profitable.
722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whatever happens, hold on to your Bitcoin. on: November 13, 2023, 02:09:55 PM
If you see the price of bitcoin is declining, then the more that you are going to hold longer your bitcoin because that's the best option for you to still end up profitable and successful on your investment. No need to get distracted if ever bitcoin ETFs are not approved, bitcoin price may get affected temporarily but it will eventually recover in time. We don't hold bitcoin for its approval, but we are anticipating for the upcoming bull run, the reason why we need to keep holding our bitcoin no matter what.

And if for instance we don't hold bitcoin, then the more that we need to avoid hodling those pump and dump altcoins. Because if there's one coin that deserves long term hodling, most likely it would be Bitcoin and nothing else.
723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 13, 2023, 03:41:42 AM
The losing streak continues, reaching 4 games now. Once again, the offense isn't flowing effectively, and they're scoring much lower than their average before the Harden trade. They are still in the process of figuring out how to fix this issue, but with 4 losses in a row, the chances of solving the problem seem to be diminishing. The next game is against the Nuggets, and in my opinion, that's an automatic loss.
Teams take time to get a flow going. They may lose 10 and something click and they go on a streak. Denver is red hot but they took a loss tonight too, nothing is guaranteed.
Not the case all the time. I believe there's a significant problem they really need to solve. As far as I remember, when Harden was traded to the Nets and the 76ers, everything went well at the beginning. However, with the Clippers, look at what's happening now—they can't even win against a struggling team without their superstar Ja Morant.

725  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lost of my capital has made me to have a change of mind about Bitcoin . on: November 12, 2023, 09:58:14 PM
 There's no perfect strategy in trading that will free yourself from initial losses. Note that trading has always been never easy so its already given that once you trade as a beginner, you will definitely lose your capital in the first place. This is the reality when you trade, you will never trade for quick profits but its more on exposing yourself to your initial losses. But losses should not be your barriers when trading, but lack of knowledge and skills are.

This is the reason why trading is not advisable for beginners, because aside that you will experience frequent losing, your emotions are not stable yet and controlling it is still impossible. But as you expose yourself into trading more often, the more experience you will gain, the more tips and lessons you will earn.
726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not get scammed by this, specially newcomers. on: November 12, 2023, 08:57:11 PM
I saw something on Quora that worried me. Someone said that he lost 1200 BTC to scammers. Then, I saw some people sharing/claiming to be experts in recovering lost bitcoin. They shared their contact details like Telegram IDs and WhatsApp numbers.

I have a suspicion that the person who lost the BTC might be the same one giving out those contact details or advices. They could be trying to trick others in the future who search for help online. Google might suggest similar questions on Quora, and people could end up sharing their private keys with scammers.

So, if you are new to all this, be careful. Don't trust random people claiming to be experts on Quora or anywhere else. They might just be trying to get your private information.

This question: https://www.quora.com/I-just-lost-1200-BTC-to-scammers-now-How-can-I-recover-my-BTC-back
scroll to see more answers like these.
Never trust other people to access your own wallet but only yourself. Even if they claim to be professionals, there is no guarantee that those people can be trusted once you share your problem and your private keys. The least they can do is to gain your trust when you are frustrated or depressed, and if you bite their offer, that's the biggest mistake that you should not have done in your life.

By allowing other people to have an access of your private keys, then the risk to lose completely your coins is now very high. There's no way they will help you for free. Scammers will do everything just to succeed on their own mission, and not actually to help us regain what we have lost.
727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 12, 2023, 10:36:34 AM
That might be the case as it is already reported that it will be a double header fight,

- Fury vs Usyk
- Joshua vs Wilder

Bust since Fury is not going to be physically available on December it changes the picture of the undercard as well. There were reports that Wilder wanted to go to England to chase Joshua, not sure if he did continue with this plan. Seems he didn't go though as this reports resurfaces that they are going to fight a different opponent this December as tune up fight. Hopefully they will be ready in February and should come out unscathed against Otto Wallin and Joseph Parker.
Joshua vs. Wilder is an enticing matchup, but being on the undercard of Fury vs. Usyk would benefit them more. Now, they might just be adding some wins to their records, and people will continue to talk about them. Of course, they should win their respective fights for this significant matchup to happen.

Although Fury vs. Usyk is the main event, these two fighters were once champions, so people will also be interested in watching them.

Some big fights lack interesting undercard fights, but this one is a sure double-header.
728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Luck and skill, which is more important for gambling success? on: November 12, 2023, 02:26:08 AM
I have the believe that success in gambling requires a mixture of luck and skill. This is opposed to some people that believe that gambling is entirely a game of luck and others who believe it is entirely a game of skill.

So I am tempted to inquire if skill is all that is needed to be successful in gambling or luck. Whichever be the option, which of them is the most important factor for gambling success?

Improve your skills, and let luck come to you. Luck may provide a small boost, especially if you're betting consistently, but what truly matters is skill. Consistency is the key to profitability. I don't understand why some believe that luck is the primary factor for winning. If that were the case, one could simply play the lottery, hit the jackpot, and be done with gambling since the winnings are substantial.

For punters seeking gradual and sure success, the skills we develop serve as our weapons to achieve that success.
729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 12, 2023, 01:41:56 AM
LA Clippers 0-3 now with James Harden. The Clippers already have a strong team so it's hard to see how James Harden fits in. Clippers doing well without Harden and his style might cause more problems than solutions. Maybe he could come off the bench to help but that's not guaranteed if he doesn't agree. If Jame Harden don't want to go bench trading him might be an option again. Lmao. Even without Harden the Clippers are still a top team especially when Paul George and Kawhi Leonard are fit and playing.

Personally, I was initially skeptical about this trade, and I still don't understand why the Clippers management wanted Harden so badly. However, the regular season in the NBA is still in its early stages, and I wouldn't rule out the possibility that Harden and other Clippers players will be able to improve team chemistry well enough to perform well at the end of this regular season.

Obviously, they want to enhance their team, and Harden being a superstar, the expectation is that the team he joins will improve. Unfortunately, at this stage, the chemistry isn't clicking well. In the past, when a team created a big 3, there was significant improvement, so what the Clippers did was create a big 4. However, thus far, it's not going according to expectations.

But you're right; it's still early in the season. There's plenty of time to address and fix these problems. Let's remain optimistic that eventually, we will see the true potential of this current lineup.
730  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] What is recommended to follow "Social Media Or DYOR" in the crypto world on: November 11, 2023, 09:58:19 PM
Either way you took you're not still safe or exempted from the attack of scammers because they are everywhere, but what gives you control over them is when you know what you're doing, having the knowledge is a key without being deceived, while making your own research, there are many things to come across with, both fake and real, but when you're guided, you will not took the wrong steps, don't also be misguided by emotions or greediness, these also draws people more closer to loosing their asset to scam.
At the end of the day, DYOR is the most crucial thing if we want to avoid being attacked by scammers. If we remain to be clueless and less knowledgeable, it would be easy for them to lure and deceive us with everything they say that really looks good and legit to us. But when we put everything on research before we decide to fall for them, then that will create us a wall to protect ourselves from those scamming attacks.

While scamming has become more unavoidable these days and the whole market is not safe anymore most particularly for beginners, then lets do the right thing through starting with in depth research. With knowledge and understanding that is built with us through research, then its easier for us to identify if these people are some kind of scammers or these people are telling only the facts that we are obliged to know.
731  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you avoid scammers? on: November 11, 2023, 09:28:26 PM
Educate yourself on the latest forms of scamming. Scammers might be smart but we can always be a lot wiser to them if we chose to educate ourselves on how to protect our private keys to its utmost security and be more aware on the latest trends on how these type of people scam the innocent people. If we do things at a high caution, surely we will learn to avoid them as much as possible.

The crypto market at some point becomes the playground of scammers already. With this, we need not to trust others but only ourselves. Learn to be suspicious most of the time. Educate yourself by conducting continuous research as much as possible. And lastly, never fall on too good to be true offers, and never open those random links that you don't even know who the sender is or is the sender can be reliable or not.
732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Holding for long might not be the best option. on: November 11, 2023, 08:58:51 PM
There has been several occasions of people saying buy and hold without consedring the negative effect it has impacted on many people live. Lets take for instance, when bitcoin was at ATH of about $69k somany people bought at same price expecting it to hit $100k and above while some baugh at the price when it was 40, 50, $60k conservatively. When it was going down to even $20k people keep on holding. Now it's about 2 years since bitcoin fell and never meet up with the price they baught. And they are hoping it comes back after losing huge amount of money. New investors are are taking advages of it while the old investors are regretting.

So I sudjest sometimes if the market is going down beyond bearable measures, there is need to swap your BTC to USDT to keep your capital safe in other to buy back when it is going up to avoid loosing some huge amount of money.

So what's your sudjestion on this.
For some, it might not be the best option most especially if they happen to hold the wrong coins but for those who have high faith in bitcoin, it will always be the best option to hold for long term. Those who fail to see the essence of bitcoin long term hodling are most probably those who hold with  a fainted heart and unstable emotions that's why when the market suddenly crash and affected the price of bitcoin to drop so badly, they develop panic in the market and resort into wrong decision of selling early.

However, it only takes some initial mistakes and losses before the people learned their lesson. And while its also a good option to swap their BTC to USDT, but for me its never the wisest decision.

What is this new colors on the floor ?? My eyes are getting super dizzy and I simply cannot follow where the ball is during a game so I do hope they will change the bright colors asap or a lot of fans like myself will simply don't watch the game.

Also , how did NBA allowed this in first place ? Sure , it looks nice if you're the player but for a TV viewer it's simply awful to watch.  Huh

I think we have to get used to that because it is not gonna stop soon. From https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/38780121/nba-releases-new-court-designs-season-tournament-games.. here's more information regarding to that.

Quote
All 30 teams, when playing home games in the tournament that starts Friday and runs through Dec. 9, will have a primarily solid-color court on the floor of their arenas. The courts will be fully painted, with no visible woodgrain.

If they'll receive lots of criticism, this  might not happen again in the future.
734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: November 11, 2023, 10:09:44 AM
Oscar dela Hoya says that they are looking at AB, Teo and Haney as his next opponent.
Do you mean Adrien Broner, the 'About Billions' guy? I think his ranking isn't on par with Ryan, or we could say that he's past his prime.

Maybe a matchup with Teo and Haney would be good for Garcia. However, if we're looking for an entertaining fight, Teo could deliver in that regard.

So depends on this fight and then Ryan winning against Duarte. And the good thing is that their fight is just a weeks apart and with that, we will know the results and maybe next year we might see it.

One step at a time, he needs to achieve a successful comeback first. Hopefully, he'll train hard and not underestimate Duarte so that he can secure a win.

Additionally, the victory needs to be impressive, especially since they are aiming for matchups against big names in boxing, all of whom are champions, except for AB.
735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you cope with those around you not believing in you for choosing Bitcoin? on: November 10, 2023, 09:07:39 PM
 Well, it's not actually giving me a hard time because I usually ignore those type of people who never agree on my own stands in life, especially when it comes to my own investments. People like them do not deserve my time explaining to them because for obvious reason, once they don't like what you are doing, they will always have a lot of negative to say to you and to your own choices in life. And for me, that's okay because we don't live to mind other life's businesses but we live for our own choices in life. And when I say I'm into bitcoin, that means I will pursue it without considering other people's ideas and suggestions especially to those people whom I think are actually against bitcoin.

My money, my rules, my own choice for my investment. That words simply means that they have no right to manipulate my decision just because we don't share the same concepts when it comes to bitcoin.
736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dangerous chasing losses on: November 10, 2023, 04:27:05 AM
I consider chasing losses to be the first step towards ruin because to chase losses every gambler will definitely deposit or use more money, whereas once they start betting the losses will never stop.
This kind of behavior must be thrown away from gamblers if they want to be able to enjoy the true happiness of gambling.

There's no joy in chasing losses; it just reflects our inability to accept defeat and the desire to always come out on top. This approach doesn't involve logical thinking; it's solely based on emotional decisions, and I'd argue it's a flawed strategy unless you have an infinite amount of money.

Once you start chasing losses, your patience begins to wane, and patience is a crucial trait for maintaining discipline and safety in gambling.
737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 10, 2023, 04:05:16 AM
Though loss for Bucks. Especially when it was Giannis' career night. He couldn't break his career high record, he was too tired in the last period. Bucks could only score 8 points in last 7 minutes, besides last 3-point which is meaningless. Pacers played the ending better and won. Turner and Mathurin helped Haliburton for this win. Mathurin made a career high with 26 points.
I haven't watched Damian Lillard with Bucks jersey yet but I could imagine how good they would be without injuries.
It was surprising that Lillard didn't play after carrying the Bucks in their previous game. The Bucks had a chance to win, but Giannis got really tired in the end after putting in a massive effort and scoring 54 points. It was still a good game, but for bettors, the Pacers won, and I think a lot of them lost on this one.

I also liked Pacers tonight but I guess Sixers and Celtics are in better shape than these teams in the East.

Yeah, the Sixers and Celtics have always been consistent. It's no surprise for the Celtics, but I'm pleasantly surprised with the Sixers. They've improved this season, especially after letting go of James Harden. They should be strong contenders for the championship.
738  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Feeling more comfortable while integrating into the forum community on: November 09, 2023, 09:32:07 PM
 Have your own originality in the forum. Regardless of your rank or position, you can establish your own identity through the content and authenticity of your post. You don't have to underestimate yourself because you are just a newbie, everyone started from a scratch. You can still be reliable in the forum if you know how to build your own name through your genuine answers and ideas that you share with the rest of the members.

Honesty and transparency is the key. Even if you can't give the best idea or suggestion from a single thread, that's okay. No one will criticize you for that as long as you give your honest and genuine answer that everyone can relate. Getting merits is not actually giving the best ideas in the forum, sometimes its more on relating with other people that they become satisfied with your desires to give them the most honest answers.
739  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 09, 2023, 02:35:18 PM
~~~
He need to be more mature to know how to handle some situation like that since if he let those bad chants goes in his head then he's gameplay will get affected with that. So instead of getting distracted with those people hate him to perform more better and defeat the team they like he should focus and inspired to became a more though player. And once he can do that for sure Wemby can earn a lot of respect not only with the fans but also for those players who play in the league for so many years.
The Spurs really need to bounce back. After that 38-point performance, things have been going downhill for Wemby, and it seems like he's not showing the resilience of a true warrior. He's not coming back strong after each loss, so as a bettor, I think I'll just keep an eye on his team for now. I'm staying away from betting on them.
It’s not that Spurs is performing bad but rather most of their recent opponents is pretty solid compared to Suns and Rocket that they get win. Suns is struggling with their current line-up now that they don’t have cp3 and good center which Wemby capitalize the paint on that game.
Let's forget about CP3 since they let him go; he shouldn't be part of the discussion. Without CP3, they've got Beal, who is still young and a superstar in his own right. The first game against the Suns was a comeback win, with Durant carrying the team, especially when Booker and Beal were sidelined due to injury issues. In the second game, Booker did play, but the Spurs dominated from the early quarters and managed to hold on for the win. Those two wins against the Suns generated quite a bit of hype for the Spurs. However, looking at them now, they're on a three game losing streak which is quite dissapointing to the fans.
Wemby is still a rookie in the presence of solid team with strong center. Wemby is play style is like Jokic but he lacks shooting accuracy and power that makes him poorly performance against team that can defend him.
It's too early to make a final judgment. You're right, Wemby is still a rookie, and he already shows great potential. With more maturity, experience, and some added muscle, I believe he has the potential to become a dominant player. Giannis wasn't a dominant player when he started, but look at him now.
740  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Never say your recovery seed or private key out loud! on: November 08, 2023, 09:27:51 PM
I am sure no man in this world will say out their recovery key, and it's almost impossible to talk about the private key, especially Bitcoin Wallet.
The name technically means a lot. Private key, yes private, anything private must be kept secretly and only the owner knows it.
It is not a public key, public address to share to everyone.
How to back up a seed phrase
Wallet security tips
But it seems some people make it hard to follow and understand simple words. Privacy means not disclosing it to other people, but still a lot of us are still disclosing it secretly to our family members and even to close friends. That's why hacking becomes more prevalent because we are the one giving them hints and intentions to do that.
However, its good thing to see that most of the people are now more educated on how to secure their private keys through some articles about protecting the privacy of their seed phrases or wallet key. And those who have experienced being hacked are now more cautious on their actions and decisions.
