What is the date of the coup?

Is the coup date before the withdrawals of all the disputed b1 from ultima?

Coup was obviously after b1 was withdrawn, probably the day risto's accounts were locked.
722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kingdom Game Thread on: August 29, 2017, 10:49:08 AM
Most important monetary science breakthrough to be implemented is that money balances are centrally managed so that exchange rate with EUR stays the same (10,000:1), the balances itself will be adjusted to the up AND to the down, if the ingame exchange shows that value of ingame money is changing. This requires there to be a depository of something external value (BTC; EUR) and deposit/withdrawal option.

This elastic supply with fixed exchange rate is reminiscent of eMunie/Radix design, very interesting.

Will you allow legacy CK players to deposit legacy M via a depository as an external something of value? Old M has a value.

Is there an ELI5 on what YourChain tech exactly is?

What is Rchain too, what crypto problem does it solve, anonymity, scaling, security, usability?

Just want to learn more about Rchain/YOURchain, how are they the same, how are they different?

Statement from the Team:

https://www.reddit.com/r/siacoin/comments/6tmx0r/why_is_sia_important/?utm_content=title&utm_medium=hot&utm_source=reddit&utm_name=siacoin

Now this is what I'm talking about! Smiley

A powerful statement, that lifts your spirit up and addresses many concerns, and gives us an image of what could be... 70 to 90% of the cloud storage market!

I am really thankful they released that statement today.

For people who don't follow links,

Quote

We're seeing a pattern that we've seen before. Sia hits some high point in the price, then people start to sell off and the price begins to fall. People get frustrated at their falling investment and start pointing at all of Sia's deficiencies and saying why it can't succeed, why it won't succeed, why the dev team is insufficient and incompetent.

Last year Sia pumped from about 3 satoshis to about 180 satoshis. Then it fell to 28. The whole way down, people were upset, and missing the bigger picture. They would talk about the user experience. They would talk about how you could only upload like 5 GB to the platform. They would talk about the giants and how nobody would ever be interested in using Sia when you could only store 5 GB on it. They would complain that Sia doesn't do any marketing. They would complain that Sia didn't have any money. They would accuse the devs of price manipulation.

I had many people private message me below the price of 40 satoshis in late 2016 and early 2017 saying they just didn't believe that the fundamentals made sense. They said they really like the project but don't see how it could be successful, so they were selling what little they had remaining and leaving. These people sold millions of coins for under a thousand dollars.

Everyone today is missing the point. Everyone is focused on trivial things like a 30% inflation rate. Like a competitor that just raised $230 million despite having no working code and a whitepaper that is incomplete and that betrays a poor understanding of blockchain technology.

Sia is going to change the face of cloud storage. That's a $20 billion market, and it's projected to become a $200 billion market. Sia is not some niche either, it's a full upgrade to how cloud storage works. We aren't aiming at 1%, we are aiming at 70-90% market share, because the core technology is that good.

Today, most Internet infrastructure is owned by a small number of companies. When you put your data in the cloud, you give up control. They can choose to delete your data, they can choose to hold your data hostage, they can change their terms of service on you. These are not uncommon situations either. Here's a story about photobucket requesting ransom prices from Ebay and Amazon. About a month ago, atlassian.com announced massive price increases for their platform, which left many people out to dry. Several months ago, Amazon pulled the unlimited tier from their Amazon Cloud Drive, giving users 180 days to download the data and find a new home.

When you put your data in the cloud, you give it to someone else. The traditional cloud is controlled by humans. There can be downtime, terms changes, price changes, companies can go under (like Soundcloud). We have built a fragile internet that puts the power in the hands of a few.

Sia changes that equation. Sia allows people to use the cloud without giving up control. This is a feature that resonates deeply with IT admins. The majority of IT admins will agree that they don't like using the Cloud, and that they would rather use another option if they could, except that the cloud offers so many advantages that they are willing to accept the loss of control of their data. Sia changes this equation. IT admins can have all the benefits of the cloud, without giving up control. It's a big step forward, and it's the core reason for blockchains existing in the first place.

The advantages don't stop there. Sia is cheaper, faster, more reliable, more secure, and has better uptime than the traditional cloud. The software today is not fully able to realize these benefits, but that's no fault of the protocol. The protocol itself is the foundation for a superior cloud platform, even if you don't care about trust. Sia is a full fledged CDN, with storage points in over 50 countries and on all 6 continents. Amazon can't claim numbers like those. Sia has hosts within 50 milliseconds of every major city in the world. Amazon can't claim that either. If you want low-latency storage to every city in the world (useful if you are YouTube, Netflix, Imgur, etc.), Sia is the best technology to use. The world's leading CDN (Akamai) charges >$50/TB. Sia charges $0.50, and that's a sustainable price.

The community has fallen into a mental trap that we see every time the price is declining. We see it with Bitcoin too. As the price goes down, people only ask themselves "what are the ways this project can fail?". I can promise you, Sia has a much better chance of success than 90% of the cryptocurrencies with a higher market cap. The projects technological fundamentals are exceptional, and an outlier in the space. Not only that, we've actually shipped a working product, and it's actually decentralized. Every 3 months has seen a release that marks a major step forward in usability and functionality.

The overwhelming din of pessimism of the past three months needs to stop. We are on a mission, and we are going to complete it. The community can't function when every other post is about how Sia is a waste of time. If you believe that, stop wasting your time and leave. The true community of Sia does believe in the project, because they know how serious the potential is. Sia is a revolutionary technology, and it's far, far ahead of everything that's trying to compete with it.

Thank you.
726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: August 13, 2017, 01:42:42 AM
I like SIA, I love the technology and possible applications to enterprise.

I think that in the next few years there's going to be amazing growth in this sector and that it is *smart* to be there, here and now, to carve your market.

However

I've been reading the past few pages of this discussion and something was made very apparent, at least, to me...

I'm talking as a business owner (20+ years) and not as an investor (own exactly 0 SiaCoins).

I think that, at this point in time, unmitigated "investor angst" is very quickly turning into reputational damage.

Reputational damage, damage to your Brand, is extremely hard to recover from, even harder that early in the game. There are disappointed investors out there attacking the brand because they lost money... damage to your Brand is what you should be worried about because this will absolutely jeopardize Client Adoption and Retention down the line, which is exactly what you need.

I understand that the team doesn't see SiaCoin as a speculative vehicle and are beyond tired of hearing calls for news or updates just to pump the price (I would be sick and tired of hearing that too), but the hard fact is that for a lot of people out there, SiaCoin is merely an investment, and I think a holistic/global approach that combines the view that SiaCoin is an investment + meant to be used on the network, not just one or the other, but both, would be beneficial and create VALUE for everyone involved.

That's where a dedicated Investor relations or PR person would come in...

Just sharing scome thoughts with you all Smiley

In crypto space investors/speculators playing fud games is the norm, so is scam coins pumping high on false promises and vaporware. Crypto history is full of proven scams and dodgy projects pumping high, and some like DASH and Larimer projects have shacken off the scam history and suffer no obvious reputational damage despite very shady histories.

With SIA we have a great project, with no hint of scams or dodgy behaviour from the dev team, and their reputations are first class.

Whinging investors leading to reputational damage is laughable

Someone told me before that if you have the source of this coin you can actually have the power to modify it or even create a new coin. Question is, why not get the Picoin source and use it to somehow "resurrect" this coin. Do you need the permission of the original developer?

Announced here, if the developer does not come, and later by the community to take over, announced the new dev information

I don't think anyone would like to take over this coin as big shares still with dev. This is the cons of airdrop coin.
Exactly its a airdrop coin and probably the dev still owns the big chunk so I think taking over is not gonna work well.

A takeover can still work, just need to swap existing balances to a new chain, and then restart the airdrop. Original dev team coins can only be recreated on a new chain, but swap is easy to do.

The OP has the original list of airdrop candidates, so some work involved, but if community agrees to a small bounty %,  then a new dev is still possible.

Community vibe around Pi was good, so a reboot could work.

Good idea if someone was willing, but both source and new dev probBly not likely to be found.

730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoKingdom Uncensored on: August 05, 2017, 04:42:02 AM
IMHO the real ownership of the game is based on the currency token, the other token should be used for 'governance'. I actually prefer a model where the game doesn't pay dividends, all money just keeps circulating through the economic systems of the game, and the game controlled accounts just exist as they are, and any obvious surpluses go back into marketing and dev expenses, so the governance token is just for decision making. I think this would keep things simple, and if people wanted to trade the governance token they could do it all OTC outside the game.

This is how the world works, rich people like Zuckerberg, Gates, Buffet, Bezos etc own big stakes of the economy but don't have direct control of government policy, then there are politicians like Obama who get to control the levers of government without having much money but get paid wages and other perks, and then some guys like Trump who have both. Adding politics to the CK landscape makes things far more interesting, I like it!
731  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Viacoin (VIA) - Safe | Segwit | Lightning Network | Auxpow | Fast on: July 24, 2017, 01:36:38 AM
My guess is Clearwater is from the previous developer. Not sure how that would work.

Yes, clearwallet was from the previous dev, but seems a lot of VIA are trapped there.

We need a tool to get via private keys from clearwallet wallets, I have my clearwallet pass phrase, and will pay 5k via bounty if someone installs working clearwallet wallet so I can get my via out.
732  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: July 24, 2017, 01:11:21 AM
Polo delisted QORA because of the Wallet problems. And Polo was forging for the dormant period and most of the QORA was on the exchange. Whatever forging of TX fees they made they had to get rid of when they delisted it. So who do you think pumped it at the end and then pulled the plug? Take a wild blind guess and call out Marco, and you will hear the reply and truth.

I hope you realize that Burst was strong armed and a hostile takeover happened, there was no scam there or here at QORA. Crow was pushing for changes to Burst and the other devs wanted to leave them in place so that they can attack the coin. The main site was Team US and now that is down but BN is up. Their wallets are the ones being downloaded now to keep their plunder.

I am Pro Crow and I will defend him here since I think there was a perception created to malign him. I can go into detail but this thread is not the place to do that.

Crowetic will get his justice for what BurstNation pulled on him and QORA is going to come back with a vengeance. I wouldn't sell at 8 sats or even 22 as the high for the Polo pump and delist.

I agree 100%, Crow is legit, and it's qora's gain now that his involvement with burst is over, and his main focus is now qora. People make coins a success, the tech needs to be good, but it's guys like crow organising things behind the scenes that makes the tech 'work'

734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CRYPTO BULLION (CBX) | Inventor of PoSP! | 2017 Road-Map PUBLISHED! on: July 21, 2017, 03:00:56 AM

Thank you for the clarification.
But still have a question, saying that a maximum of 250k CBX could be allocated into BPNs means that if at one point all the the 250k are full  even someone that will buy enough CBX for run a master node (2000, 1000, 500 or 250) will not be able to do so.
Don't you think that this is a disincentive to who will be willing to accumulate CBX even at higher price?

The Crypto Bullion concept is unlike the inflationary fiat system, and this is intentional. We operate within scarce conditions of coin generation with our currently less than 1 million coins and a low 2% annual inflation rate. BPNs will operate similarly (without a limitless supply). If all BPN spots are full, investors will still have the option to stake via PoSP or to enter into the queue to secure a BPN once one becomes available. As the price goes up we will naturally experience BPN owners that are willing to sell their spots to those offering to pay a higher coin cost, so in my view this is a self correcting problem.

If down the road we identify this as an issue, we will review alternative options via our self-governance function and achieve a consensus solution.

Let's assume the BPN amount is 2k, and I have 3k in my wallet, would that mean 2k would stake at the BPN rate and 1k at the regular rate, or would all of my 3k stake at the BPN rate?

If I had enough CBX to run 2 BPN will I need to run two separate wallets on 2 PC's, or could I run them on the same PC?

736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: July 19, 2017, 05:43:52 AM

It would take another year or two before we can swap all that we have been holding. Since the day they announce this swapping, NXT and Coinomat assets are also rising, so why swap right?

People want access to their money, plus they never received any WCT which is unfair.

Sasha started this thread, and he ignores this issue here. He also ignores people asking about this on the original Coinomat communication channels (NXT forum and SuperNET slack), so expecting a response from approaching him on WAVES slack is not realistic. He is reading this thread, so are his minions, and yet they ALL ignore this for over 1 year.
737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: July 18, 2017, 11:50:28 AM

Why does Sasha ignore these investors?

738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: July 13, 2017, 07:29:04 AM
Hey guys, sorry if this has been asked already the WCT tokens giveaway still a thing? it ends sometimes in Sep right and do uses who use the wallet here https://waveswallet.io/ get the tokens as well?

Thanks Smiley

There's a rumour going around that all remaining WCT are being kept for old Coinomat based assets. Not sure if it's true or not.

Don't see any logic behind that rumor.

Logic would be that Sasha made a promise to Coinomat based asset holders that swaps to WAVES tokens would be opened as soon as WAVES platform was launched, and that DID NOT happen, and so these Coinomat asset holders missed out on every WCT airdrop so far.

I hope this rumor is true, Coinomat asset holders have suffered major losses from the delay, and they deserve some WCT too.

Will those tokens be swapped against Waves tokens? I'm not even sure about that. Could be swapped to new tokens on the Waves platform, so they would not have received WCT anyway.

Yes, maybe the remaining Coinomat based assets will get migrated to WAVES, but that would only make sense if Sasha intended to revive the business models underpinning them, which looks doubtful now after all this time. He can't just abandon them, so if the business projects of all those assets aren't rebooted, then most likely they get absorbed into WAVES, so you'd think the best solution would be to swap to WAVES like the first round in mid 2016, but then the 2nd round swap investors would get zero WCT.

Obviously giving the option of keeping all these assets for migration OR second swap was a big mistake.
739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kingdom Game Thread on: July 13, 2017, 03:38:16 AM
Any chance of peace talks?

Everybody loses with this fork into two CK's, why don't you compromise, have a vote on a settlement that allows you to resume control of your accounts, and try and grow the value of everyone's investment. Then you repay people from your CK assets.
740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]PiCoin [POS+POW] [SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN] on: July 13, 2017, 03:24:44 AM
Dev you are killing coin by your absent, tell us something to hope that is not the end  Undecided

Picoin is in a coma now, switch off life-support, can't be saved if the airdrop isn't completed. Sad, very sad!
