7201  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [MERIT] Independence Day Merit Giveaway on: June 12, 2019, 04:39:29 PM
First round of merits sent!

I think the most enjoyable thread I encountered was the Filipino version of the Wall Order thread. I hope that one becomes as epic as the Speculation board WO thread.

Am I still eligible to submit my posts even it has some Merits already? 😂 I'm currently going short of Source sMerits so I'm on my way gaining Merits again 😁

Good question!

Hindi! Bawal!

You are awarded twice as many source merits per month as me so I'm jealous  Tongue  Cheesy

Keep the posts rolling in guys. Remember they have to be Local board posts.

For every 2 merits donated to this thread, an additional 1 will be awarded to suitable posts. (that means I have between 3 and 8 left to dish out).

And remember, just say NO to spam!

WRIGHT SUMMONED TO FLORIDA COURT ON JUNE 18TH

Craig Wright is to appear in a Florida court next week to contest allegations that he stole 1.1 million Bitcoin from his old friend, Dave Kleiman.

Wright had initially appealed to postpone proceedings or be allowed to attend via video conference call. Those appeals were denied by District Judge Beth Bloom, who deemed the plaintiff’s claims substantial enough that he show up in person to defend against them.

From what I understand (please correct me if I'm wrong), this will be a rare instance where if Wright wins in court, it will be a good thing. Because, ultimately, it will mean that neither he nor Kleiman was Satoshi, which I suspect to be the case. 1.1 million bitcoin is a lot. Pretty sure its referring to the fabled "Satoshi stash," which Wright claims to have mined (but could never prove it). Wright may still be found guilty of perjury but my figurative money is on him winning the suit or it being dismissed.
7203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright is Satoshi Nakamoto - Evidence Here on: June 12, 2019, 10:37:44 AM
Tomorrow, on Bloomberg, Dr. Craig Steven Wright on "60 Minutes".

So, how did this episode turn out? Did it have the worldwide transformative effecting the slobbering BSV fanatics thought that it would? I must have missed it. Oh, that's right, everybody missed it, because it didn't happen.

Much like how CSW being Satoshi never happened.
7204  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / [MERIT] Independence Day Merit Giveaway on: June 12, 2019, 07:57:30 AM
This morning I woke up and saw that Google had done this, not knowing what it meant exactly:

Then when I went to the BDO to withdrawal some money, it was closed, and only then I learned that today is Independence Day! I should probably know that by now after having lived here for over a year, so shame on me. But to make up for it I am doing a 10-15 merit giveaway for Philippines Local section posts.

Just link your post that you feel deserves to be merited in this thread and I will give it a look over. If it is at least somewhat meritable I will send it a merit. Posts can be in English or Tagalog but must have been written before today. Have a gandang araw.

Kuya Nutildah

(thread will be locked in 2-3 days, or if I run out of merit, whatever happens first)
7205  Economy / Reputation / Re: Quickseller vs cleaning up the forum on: June 12, 2019, 07:29:33 AM

"Lauda alleges: Quickseller violated a written contract, resulting in damages, in the specific act referenced here. Quickseller did not make the victims of this act roughly whole, AND it is not the case that all of the victims forgave the act. It is not grossly inaccurate to say that the act occurred around September 2015."

The link is to this thread. What is the "specific act" and who are the "victims"? I suppose you're referencing the self-escrow thing. When writing a flag, it says this:

Quote
You must create a topic describing the specific acts which damaged you. It must not be self-moderated.

It also says this:

Quote
On my honor, I affirm the following: 1) This user violated a casual or implied agreement, resulting in damages; 2) I have not been made whole by the user; 3) no existing flag covers this same incident; 4) this incident is accurately and completely described in the above topic; 5) the incident occurred roughly in the month given above. Furthermore, I promise to withdraw my support for this flag if this user makes me whole in the future.

I don't care for QS but I can't sign off on this if the format is not followed.

Of course, with the passage of time, the number of eligible DT1 is going to go up as more and more members update their trust lists, so at some point in the likely relatively near-term future, eligible DT1 members are going to have less than 50% chance of actually being included in DT1 for any particular month.

7207  Other / Meta / Re: DefaultTrust changes on: June 12, 2019, 03:32:21 AM
I was always intending to choose a random subset of 100 once more than 100 became eligible.

So would it be fair to call this the Theymos Snap?

I was going to make this its own thread but its not my finest work. Somebody with a bit more time and ps skills should do this better.
7208  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: June 12, 2019, 02:13:13 AM
By the way, Craig Wright actually is Satoshi for one simple reason: if it were not so, would now be shown the real Satoshi by move BTC from the old address. There can be no such thing that no one knows who Satoshi is, the community would certainly have reacted in an exhaustive manner to the grant of a patent to Wright if he were not Satoshi. Creator or Wright, or an alien from the future, the other can not be

For me, the KYC process is primarily a guarantee and protection of investor funds and not verification of project identity .

When you sign up for KYC, which account do you use? You have at least 20 different accounts that you use to run a thread bumping service (aka spammer-for-hire).

You "share" the same ETH address with these two other members:

0xAAd4d91807C1e332034658D76d528870a3F3eAF3

Proof that you used the same address:

A7373
https://archive.is/YSt0l

Bugatti73
https://archive.is/P9RwR

P9tosya
https://archive.is/4VmXi

And just for fun, I decided to include a screenshot of you talking to yourself.

I'm not reading all that. Is there any way you could condense your rants into like 100 - 200 words? Furthermore, you're a Jr. Member, and you swear you're not cryptohunter ( Roll Eyes) so why do you think anybody should take anything you have to say seriously? As a Jr Member you haven't been here long enough to understand the complexities of the forum or the way the system works... Can you please stop invading thread that don't concern you?

Give us/them [i.e. cryptohunter - suchmoon's note] 1 admin power - a black list button for DT

Apologies to everyone who had this person on ignore but this gem is so brilliant that I couldn't let you miss it Smiley

Forgot about the ignore button, thanks for the reminder.

My girlfriend had what turned out to be an ant trapped in her ear. And it was one of the bitey ants. We tried to drown it with olive oil like the internet says, but that only made it mad. So she insisted we go to the hospital, which was a waste of money as the doctor couldn't get it out. Try not to go to a hospital in the Philippines if you have the option.

The thing eventually died about 24 hours later, but only after it had bitten the shit out of her ear. She had bleeding and temporary hearing loss... All is good now though. Just thought I would share that fun story with you.

for foreign objects in the ear, an ear nose and throat doctor is the go to solution (they have the tools and expertise to not damage the eardrum). and bugs in the ear are a priority appointment, call and tell them they will get you in that day. im surprised the ED didnt refer you to one.

They did, that's immediately who they sent us to (ENT guy). They doctor couldn't get it out but thats OK because the situation resolved itself within 24 hours.

It's random:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5117330.msg51424908#msg51424908

Quote from: theymos
More than 100 would be selected, so a random subset of eligible users will be chosen each month to bring it down to 100. This month 111 users were eligible.

Only one problem with this: nothing is truly random. I'll believe its random when I see Og fall off for a month.

Theymos gave his explanation as to why he chose randomly selecting members and its sounds a bit weird, but whatever.
7212  Other / Meta / Re: DefaultTrust changes on: June 11, 2019, 07:03:25 AM
Yeah I saw that post but it doesn't mention anything about new requirements, besides randomly selecting 100 users?!.
I don't think anything changed: DT1 is selected in the same way, then reduced to 100 members.

Yeah, I figured that. I think it's an odd choice to randomly select them instead of looking at trust level, in/exclusions etc.

I agree. Should definitely be based on rank of eligibility if capped at 100 members. Random just means peoples' trust ratings could fluctuate pretty intensely from month to month... Whatever, I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it plays out.
7213  Other / Meta / Re: DefaultTrust changes on: June 11, 2019, 06:57:47 AM
Several users are now red-trusted. Remember this:
All that being said, I still discourage retaliatory ratings, and with these changes I encourage people to try to "bury the hatchet" and de-escalate rather than trying to use any increased retaliatory power you now have.

Unfortunately that sentiment doesn't seem to be very popular around here :/

7214  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 11, 2019, 06:46:05 AM
yup, re-jiggering, he did warn

A conspiracy theory not of my own is that if our benevolent overlord does make some re-jiggerings then they will likely have the end result of adding Og back to the list. We'll have to see how that plays out.

Edit: spoke too soon. He is back on but that's thanks to the addition of a buttload new members. Congrats mindtrust, fillippone, V8's and micgoossens!

Good afternoon WOs. Been going to bed later and waking up later. I can miss the mornings entirely when there's no construction going on in the new building next door.

paragraphs 1 & 2: boring and overly-trodden personal attacks

Zzzzzzzz

Regarding your "logic", it is also harder to die from AIDs if no one has sex, I guess we should have mandatory abstinence right? Oh you like sex? Guess what, people like being able to not rely on government to defend themselves, especially since they are usually 10-20 minutes away, that is assuming they don't shoot you when they get there. Your chances of dying in a car accident are significantly reduced if you don't own a car, I guess we should ban cars too. Pools? Nah, people drown in pools. BAN. Just because you live in a place where you feel safe without owning a gun does not mean everyone does. In fact the people who most need to be armed are the poorest among us, but fuck them right? You live in a gated community with an armed guard, and guns are scary.

We've been over this ad nauseum: You've made a facetious comparison here. Guns are designed to be lethal weapons. Sex, cars, and pools are not. Why is this so difficult to understand?

You have no logos, your arguments are 100% from a position of emotional instability and fear like nearly every gun control argument.

I present to you a bit of logical evidence to support the idea that more guns = more gun deaths (a pretty simply concept really) and you delve head-first into long-winded, overly emotional personal attacks in an attempt to counter it. I would say you are the one who is unstable here. Really, I don't even need to read your walls of sniveling hate text to know you're a bit off your rocker. Every day you bang your head against the wall here and expect different results. That's lunacy.
7216  Economy / Reputation / Re: Quickseller vs cleaning up the forum on: June 10, 2019, 04:58:33 PM
weew lordy thats a lot of words

Nobody needs to read all that (nor should they) to know that

In your whole rant you only mention QS's name 1 time; your whole thing barely even counts as "on topic" discussion.

I for one think the plagiabot (j/k I know its not a bot but thats a fun name for the process) goes back a bit too far sometimes, but in general it sure is a stern reminder for shitposters that copy/pasting doesn't pay. Anybody who would be outright against such a thing has personally motivated reasons for being so. The fact that a few DT1s have been caught and banned recently is pretty solid evidence of its impartiality.

Accounts that have proved their worth over the years since their last offense have indeed been re-instated, though sometimes with a penalty, so I don't understand the arguments against these recent wave-bannings.
7217  Other / Meta / Re: Report plagiarism (copy/paste) here. Mods: please give temp or permban as needed on: June 10, 2019, 04:45:33 PM
This post is plagiarized from a Steem article written a week earlier:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3553307.msg36366583#msg36366583

Plagiarist: P9tosya

Original: https://steemit.com/airdrops/@taranya/best-airdrop-for-the-laziest

How do I know that the Steemit article is older? You can inspect the page source to find the article's publication date, April 30th, 2018.

This account belongs to one of the most prolific spammers on the forum. He is directly tied to these 2 other accounts via ETH address used in bounty campaigns:

I suspect he has literally dozens of other accounts with which he runs a thread bumping service. If you look at the A7373 and Bugatti73 accounts, they almost always post in the same threads, along with their dozens of Newbie and Jr Member accounts.

Hmm, I wonder what happened to the cozy arrangement between the Cashies and the Dashies?  Trouble in scammer paradise?  Honeymoon over after 2X failed and Dash floundered?  Maybe the "PR" checks being laundered through Wachsman stopped during crypto winter?

Oh look, its Dash's biggest fan, woke up from his hibernation due to the fact that the Dash market cap is threatening to flip that of XMR's. His epically mental trolling saga continues; for what reason, nobody really knows. Anyway, the fact that iCEBREAKER is posting here has been confirmed multiple times in the past to be a bullish indicator, that is, if you're into TA and that sort of thing.

scam exchange
Why do you say that way? Do you have bad experience?

Its pretty obvious this is not a very honest project because they hired spammers like you to bump their thread for them. Real projects that go on to be successful never engage in this kind of manipulative behavior. If they do, they are much more sophisticated about it than hiring sub-IQ'd goons to churn out uninspiring one-liners for them week after week.
