7221  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to keep your funds secured? on: January 31, 2019, 09:34:40 PM
Im quite new to crypto so i wanted to know what exchanges do you use and i'd be grateful for advises on security. I currently keep my crypto on localbitcoins but it recently got hacked to im concerned for my money. I want to move it somewhere safe but still be able to make trades without much fuss. Im still learning to trade but im pretty serious about it. Can you recommend me a good exchange that hasn't been hacked yet?

Obviously if you want to keep your coins "safely" , you don't need to stored it on any exchanges around.

But since you want to do regular trades and don't want a hassle way of depositing and withdrawing it and vice versa, you want an exchange where you can put some "trust" in terms of "security".

Well then, you can put a shot on those reputable exchanges that already established a good reputation. What are those? Honestly I can't suggest you some since I want you to learned it by yourself. Who knows that we might have different experienced using those exchanges.

Just remember one thing, it's not 100% assurance that your funds are safe even using a big exchanges. It's just that you are minimizing the risks of losing your funds when you choose a reputable one.

Goodluck.
7222  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What happens if I lost my phone and that is how I access my accounts?? on: January 30, 2019, 11:31:49 PM
My accounts at the exchanges all need my phone for SMS verification to log in. So what if the phone was lost? Would I be locked out?

The phone that I use is a pre-paid one and I fill minutes with pre-paid cards. I have used the phone number for years but it is not on any special account.

What do you think? Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

Network operators, at least here in my country, accepts Prepaid Cards for reference.

You can used that as requirements instead of the old module when changing to a new module with the same number.

On the other hand, there are crypto exchanges who allows changing numbers. Just seek their support for details.

Anyways, since we are on "what if" just try to keep taking care of your belongings to avoid further problems in the future.

You can simply disable your 2FA and just re-enable it and copy the provided backup code, for potential instances where you lose access to your phone. Simply write the backup code down, put it in a safe, then you're pretty much good.

Authy is definitely convenient, but I think it has more points of failure than just using Google's authenticator. So Google Authenticator is still the option for me.

7223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2018-2019 betting on: January 30, 2019, 10:47:20 PM
There is less than 2 hours left until the first match starts or are your predictions on the late night matches?
Would like to see your analysis on the timberwolves and the grizzlies tonight.
But both teams have been playing strong so tough to decide.

Moneyline:
If you are fine taking odds around @1.6 then choosing Twolves is not a bad choice. On first loss meeting against the Grizzlies, the core players didn't performed well and surely they will not let it happen again playing at the Target Center. Also, those core players did some nice productions on their recent games although commiting some numbers of turnovers really spoiled their momentum on those said games.

On the other hand choosing Grizzlies @2.4 is also not a bad choice but a risky one. Remember they blew a 25 big points large lead in their recent game against a much more dominant Denver Nuggests so surely they will try not to repeat that choking scene. And if they can managed to force Twolves doing some turnovers (like what Jazz did vs Twolves recently) possibility of snatching the game have higher chance.

Notes:
Grizzlies pound Twolves on their first meeting also on the Target center. But remember that Twolves become more improved as time passes by while Grizzlies became more incompetent especially playing at road games.

But in my case, taking Moneyline will just be an option. I preferred taking Over Points on these (209 @1.9).

Yours to decide.
7224  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Www.bitwinex.co _ Is it a SCAM ? on: January 30, 2019, 10:25:13 PM
What is it with all these newbies finding all these obscure exchanges?

Let's say I will disregard the response above that OP might promoting the exchange, the common reason why these newbies often using a non-popular crypto exchange is because of engaging on such projects promotions or bounties.

These coins/tokens can only be traded on those non-popular exchanges because it's quiet easy to be listed on those. Also on some cases, the project itselfs owns the platform.

Even those persons that I introduced in crypto are asking me some details about a certain exchanges on which I don't know where on the world they found it. Since they have no choice but to trade their reward coins there, then they have to face the risks.

On the main point, people should used their common sense in here. It's a dumb move to just deposit money on a non-popular exchange.
7225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's the 1st thing you'll do if you win Megah Moolah's jackpot? on: January 30, 2019, 09:11:18 PM
Mega Moolah set another record with its €18.9 million jackpot in a single spin. If you were the lucky winner of this jackpot, what will you do?

Thinking what we will do after hitting that jackpot might put people into more deep expectations and eventually.... how I wished statements. Smiley

Just several months ago, our lottery jackpot here in our country reached an insane billion prizes which won by 2 people.

Anyways I'd rather wait for that moment to come (against all odds) and will start thinking what will I do later on. Smiley (obviosuly no bet = no jackpot so don't think of winning that prize if a person isn't placing a bet lol)
7226  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Another Blockchain-Based MMO for Desktop + Mobile on: January 30, 2019, 08:50:31 PM
Since then, I have noticed that crypto based games or such games with touch or involvement to blockchain isn't really fascinating to lots of users. There are lots of crypto based games where I looked on but unfortunately some of them are now closed. In-game currency that can be exchange to btc or any other crypto is one of the best features that I want to implemented on a certain game.

Funding and finding a team is not an issue I believed. It's just that there is no good return after spending funds and time.

Im a game enthusiast myself and currently playing some MMO and MMORPG games so I really like the idea of a blockchain based games.

Well then, story short, I just want to say goodluck on the project and hoping that it will have a good output in the future.

7227  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kraken rebranding on: January 30, 2019, 08:34:18 PM
Kraken rebranding – do you like it?

Although the rebranding (layout, designs etc.) didn't really have a sort of "direct" involvement in crypto environment and surroundings (well as far as my own view is concern), I see no big deal to that.

More importantly, the service and security are some of the main things that users/customers is looking to. Satisfactory ratings to this exchange is currently good so they should have to maintained it and improved at the same time while time passes by.
7228  Economy / Speculation / Re: After Chinese new year BTC price will rise? on: January 29, 2019, 09:14:00 PM
every year before Chinese new year around 2-4week BTC price alway drop like last year from 11xxx in 28 jan drop to 62xx in 06 feb.

after Chinese new year (16 feb 2018) price rise back  do you think this year is same pattern?

Past performance can't guarantee future results.

There are lots of expectations that didn't happened in 2018 which is based from the happenings in 2017. Same scenario might happen to what is your pointing out which is now as 2018 as based of reference.

I also don't see Chinese New Year event as big factor to triggered the price rise for a big percentage.
7229  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: January 29, 2019, 08:42:02 PM
Wala din kasing time frame yung trabaho ko as long as di pa tapos dapat continue pa. Subukan ko din kumuha ng lbc ID card. Anu ba requirments nun?

As long as syempre latest ang Year with Pirma ng principal, dean or head etc. ok yan.

Ito na lang isipin mo "outside crypto", marami nagpapadala via LBC either from here to province or vice versa. For sure may student na tumatanggap ng pera since they have the tracking number + sila ang nilagay sa recipient.

Malabo yang di tatanggapin ang student ID. Paano naman iyong mga estudyante na umaasa ng padala sa magulang nila na nasa malayo.

Like I said kung may doubt ka go for Php 1,000 for testing purposes at pagkuha ng LBC Card. Since hirap ka mag adjust kahit once a week mo lang gagawin yan na lang gawin mo.
7230  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin continues to decline? on: January 29, 2019, 07:40:01 PM
Do you think bitcoin will continue to fall to prices below $ 3000? I saw the market conidisi kept red, without green. At the beginning of 2019, there seems to be no sign of a change in a better direction. What do you think about this? Please give opinions that are simple but easy to understand. Thank you!

Why looking for an immediate sign of "good direction"? History of reaching the last ATH to what it is by now will just repeat if the same hype will happen today. Let the bearish trend dominated the whole so we can determined the so-called "right price" without a hype.

Why not just go with the flow and just do whatever things that can give advantage to you since nothing we can do about the current price trend. Reaching below $3,000 or what is always possible as we speak. Even how good the resistance to withstand the below $3,000 mark attempt we can't just speculate that it will really happen.

Please give opinions that are simple but easy to understand. Thank you!

We are in Speculation section, expect all speculative statements here as "speculation".
7231  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Beginner trader: super basic beginner questions? on: January 29, 2019, 05:34:57 PM
Do you have a separate bank account (or a Business account) for your crypto trading,, that is separate from your personal checking account?

Not necessary. No need.

Just fill your trading account then proceed.

Do you register a LLC or something before you start trading?

None. Crypto trading is not the usual stock market trading.

Choose a crypto trading platform (a reputable one to minimize the risks), register (see supported countries) , deposit and start doing trades.

How do you keep track of all the financials with your trading activity? (seems easy to get sloppy with keeping exact records)

Honestly it's up to you how you want to keep track of it. I believed you can think some by yourself.

I was thinking of working my regular job 3 days per week, and then do 3 days per week for learning trading 8 hours per day. With my personal money, I am very meticulous and I keep track of basically every penny spent and earned, so I want to do the same if I start trading for the first time...

As long as you know what you are doing then it's fine. I don't see any wrong doing that honestly. You are the only one who can tell if your plan will be worth it in the long run. So yes, you need to do that plan on actual and see if it will be an effective strategy.

How do you prepare for a day of trading?

What you must focus here is to study the behaviour of your chosen coins to be traded. Doing day trades can lead to a quick loss so don't just engaged here without proper knowledge about "volume". Since you will put time on learning trading stuffs, you will encountered how to deal on that on your way.

Do you have a office reserved for just trading?

Not necessary. But of course it's a good to work on an area where you are comfortable.

How do you not get distracted with these forums and everything else?

Focus. Speculations always there and community always making a hype.

You can listened to them as reference but of course you should know how to sort the useful to those sh*t ones.

P.S

Make sure you will read all responses here. Smiley
7232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: January 29, 2019, 05:10:05 PM
Klay Thompson & Anthony Davis

- big names that are now on trend that Los Angeles Lakers wants to target or (vice versa). Both players express their willingness.

And the exchange? Yes, the young core players of Lakers which involves Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandom Ingram, Josh Hart, KCP and nooo.. Ivica Zubac. This is a risky move, gambled and expect good hopes from young cores or released them to get a players which is currently on peak. Honestly I see that both options is good for Lakers but if we talk about "now", looks like acquiring peak players will be the one that will be prioritized especially with the current status of the team.

Lakers basketball operation surely went through a lots of brainstorming for this expected trade.
7233  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What do you think, will running a site like this be profitable ? on: January 29, 2019, 04:49:41 PM

It's on test mode so using a free hosting is just fine because the main point was getting feedback first at the community (if that is really OP's purpose).

But OP if you will go for LIVE, you need to put an effort of having your own domain + of course the basic design and layouts.

Anyways about your main concern, you need to tell us the details/featured of the site. Don't want to sign up there just to see the inside stuff.

"WIN FREE BITCOIN EVERY WEEK!" - is somehow a questionable banner. It's already telling us now how risky it is.
7234  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: PRIMEDICE SCAMED ME 0.1 BTC on: January 29, 2019, 04:29:59 PM
The case has been solved (which is not actually a case).

No need for further responses (which I just did now -sigh-).

To OP head down on the bottom part of the page and hit the LOCK TOPIC.

7235  Economy / Speculation / Re: which way bitcoin price going? on: January 29, 2019, 03:57:00 PM
Hi you can see i am new to bitcointalk if i make any mistake please let me know.
i have been watching bitcoin 1.5 year.  that time bitcoin price was around 5500$-6000$ than bitcoin price started to rise. just in few month bitcoin rise up it's all time high 19000$+-23000$+. a lot people starting see very good in bitcoin and invested but than from new year price started to go down.  right now its again goin down when everyone hoping it will reach 4000$. they way bitcoin straggling some people say it's going down below 2500$ some say its going to start climbing again to broke it's al time high. i don't have much experience in trade and analysis bitcoin and i don't know which one to follow. so if anyone has good experience in trade and analysis in bitcoin please suggest which way bitcoin price is going.
Thanks

Analysis will not work for telling what will happened even how professional it was made. Overall it will just be a speculation.

No one knows what will happen and that's the thing you must understand here. In your 1 year and 6 months of watching the bitcoin price, you should understand by now how volatile crypto is. What you must study is how to deal on that kind of scenario and not just expect a good price movement every now and then.

That's how risky putting money on crypto is. You must have sets of strategy to deal on different instances.

7237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pacquiao Vs Mayweather 2 on: January 24, 2019, 07:14:41 PM
I don't really know why people are still interested in that boring rematch. Pacquiao's last fight just showed how he slowed down and he's not that a beast anymore and he's turning like Mayweather who just wait and wait before he punches. Just give this up guys so you won't complain that are again rob with a show that's not really worth your money.

Boring or not based on your thoughts, there are people that still wants a piece of Mayweather vs Pacquaio "for the last time". They are both on retirement level now so it's kind of a privilege that we can still see these top pound for pound boxers doing a serious bout for the last time. Seriously you didn't understand that simple reason of others aside from business and gambling purposes?

If you guys are expecting a beast Pacquiao during their first matchup then definitely you are just a passerby. How come you are expecting an intense fight for both sides which now out of their peaks. So expect the same scenario if ever a rematch will happened. But that is just a speculation and we all don't know what will happen on the ring.

People wants rematch so bring it on and you have the freedom not to watch it.

7238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which gambling sites offers investment on: January 24, 2019, 06:23:25 PM
Why others redirecting OP's point to a PONZI SCHEME? lol.

Clearly he is referring to a gambling sites that have such feature of investment wherein it will grow at some time. Back then there's Moneypot and just-dice (clams) but the profit is really not that decent over time. The capital plays a big role too.

Anyways there are sites that mentioned above which have that service. Yes they already built a reputation in crypto gambling world. But before engaging to that kind of service, do some math of your expected returns. Read the terms and understand how it works. There are lots of people who expects that putting money on a bankroll or any related thing will give them a 100% sure and decent profit as they progress but end up disappointed.
7239  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A better way to invest in cryptocurrency. on: January 24, 2019, 05:18:49 PM
I know a lot of people who quitted their day job to trade in the cryptocurrency market.
But it was when the market was good.
In this bear market, they're struggling very hard to survive.
So I think the best way to invest is this :
Have a side job, cut down your expenses, then invest 10-20% of your monthly income in the market. This way you never have to worry about gain and loss and surely you have higher chance of getting rich because the market will recover in the long run!

Honestly that was the usual approach.

Those who left their day job to focus on trading surely didn't understand the risks they entered especially during the 2017 hype. It's just fine for me if they know the risks but if they just did it because of the hype then definitely that's wrong.

Some of them saw that doing crypto trades is a quick rich scheme therefore they focus on it. Since they are not used to deal on a big crash they didn't know what to. It leads to panic, regrets and failed strategy.

Moving forward, if they are eager to recover they can start again from scratch. There are lots of successful traders who also have day jobs and some of them even have their own businesses at the same time. That is dedication.
7240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: January 24, 2019, 04:24:59 PM
With Russell Westbrook dominating the game and Lillard. Where he told him "He has been busting that ass for years!".
Which was hilarious to watch cause you can clearly see what he said without hearing him(no mics close by) and the look on Lillards face is priceless at the free throw line. Grin

They really have a "word war" since 2011 if Im not mistaken. Westbrook never won on the Portland Trail Blazers arena (Moda) since that year and just broke the curse in their meetup last January 4 (or 5? Im not sure).

Damn, after Paul George and Gordon Hayward injuries now major injury again happened in Pacers roster Victor Oladipo: https://www.facebook.com/kamotegamingph/videos/1985114361544446/

Just hoping he will be the same Victor Oladipo when come back. Undergoing surgery especially in lower area reduces player performance except with a dedication*.

Oladipo on his injury: "I just slipped and knew it was serious"

It's a season ending injury I guess and kind of "why??". Pacers is in good track this season sitting on a 32-15 WinLoss record and now this happened.
