7245  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buying coins online on: August 31, 2013, 01:30:36 PM
Thanks guys, I tried out btcquick.com it's pretty easy and I can use my credit card through google wallet. The thing is I was in a bit of a hurry to get the coin but I'm overseas on the other side of the world in one of the worst places to get bitcoin. Turkey.

I'm still waiting for the pending transaction on google wallet -_- I NEED to play satoshidice. The fate of the world depends on it, quite literally. Cry

Out of all possible dice sites, why would you play on Satoshi Dice?

Bitcoin is the most popular coin but there are many interested LTC users too.
7247  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Guess the picture and make some BTC on: August 31, 2013, 01:29:27 PM
I am a little bit confused. Don't know this concept.
But I'm curious to see the answer because I don't see any text in the picture  Shocked

There is a black and white blurry picture and you have to guess what it is. You pay for every guess you take, and if you get it right you get the prize. I think.

Hello nube, welcome to the forums. Good luck mining!
7249  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just how legitimate are these BTC/LTC 'faucets'? on: August 31, 2013, 01:28:15 PM
Worst case senario is that faucet owner can see your IP address.
And they what?
What will he do with that information?
Lol

Identify you.

To OP: think of the address as a "username" and the private key as a "password". When people send money to your address, they're just sending it to your "username" or "account". They don't have your private key (password), so they will never be able to steal your money unless you give them the private key.
7250  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Guess the picture and make some BTC on: August 31, 2013, 01:26:45 PM
I've played the game before, but I never managed to guess a picture right :-)
Your site is very nice though!

I'm looking to borrow 0.01 BTC to test something on inputs.io. I would like to receive and pay back using inputs.io ("off-chain transaction"). I don't have access to my main wallet right now, but I will sometime between now and the next 48 hours. I have my reputation to offer as collateral. I will pay back 0.012 BTC (20% interest).

If you agree, please send 0.01 to the inputs.io address in my signature. I will also return the payment using inputs.io. If this is not possible for you, just let me know.

Thanks, Josh.

Double quoted for future future reference. Just in case.
7253  Other / Off-topic / Re: What video games do you play? on: August 31, 2013, 01:01:56 PM
Occasionally the Humble Bundle (https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly) will have DRM free games for Linux.  The last game I played was Defcon.  The only winning move is to play against me.  I have never won.

I played Defcon a couple of years ago. The concept is pretty interesting (worldwide nuclear war), but the gameplay is quite boring. All you do is wait for the big missiles to launch :-)

Command & Conquer
Garry's mod

Too very awesome games. Depends on my mood. I like to play strategy games and War games.

C&C is one of the only RTS games I enjoy, along with Age of Empires.

I have Garry's Mod, but I don't really see the point of it. It's more like a tool for manipulating 3D models than a game (unless you count mods like Trouble in Terrorist Town).

- Minecraft

- AssaultCube

- And Yet it Moves at the moment, but it should be done in a week.

Minecraft is a 'classic', I think people will still be playing it 20 years from now :-)
AssaultCube looks like a crappy CS clone. And Yet It Moves doesn't look really fun either, although I haven't tried either game.

Has anyone here tried Broforce? It's going to be released on Steam soon, and the prototype is quite fun with 2 player local multiplayer. I can't wait for the full version of the game to come out.

Buy them on eBay, they usually retail for a few hundred bucks iirc. Search for the model number of a printer you know will work for that type of card on eBay.

Just in case anybody is having difficulty accessing the website (I did earlier), here is the line of Arabic text that causes the crash: [mac font exploit]

7260  Other / Off-topic / Re: how to make your own hologram? on: August 31, 2013, 12:41:53 PM
There are amateur hologram kits available for sale, I think I read about it somewhere. It seems very tricky to make a good hologram though.
