7281  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is exodus wallat safe? on: June 20, 2017, 11:57:30 AM
The wallet allow you to export your private key so as long as you have them, you should be fine and as bluefirecorp mentioned above, there is a discussion thread, feel free to ask any questions and I will be more then glad to help.
7282  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Unofficial] Exodus Wallet | Multi-Currency | Built-in Exchange on: June 20, 2017, 08:36:02 AM
You cant export your private keys, i tried doing by going to developer option and then assets and then bitcoin, but all i can export is bitcoin address... even if you click export private key or address the output is same, only address is exported.

This is a bug from 1.27, It should be fixed on the next update (this Thursday). You still can downgrade to 1.26 and export your private keys in the meantime If you want to otherwise just wait for the next in a couple of days.
7283  Other / New forum software / Re: Beta.bitcointalk.org is back to work on: June 20, 2017, 07:59:58 AM
Thats the new Bitcointalk? looks like a "this domain is not in use" website and why use new bitcointalk subdomain.

The last time I checked, It was something like this:

It's now showing the following message:
Code:
version update and data migration in progress

I believe they are applying it on the current forum software we are using and beta finished or they are updating the beta, the message is not clear enough.
7284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit2x will get activated for sure? on: June 20, 2017, 07:23:29 AM
~ I mean this could make the core developers unemployed, right?

what the F** does this mean?!!
since when developing, coding, contributing to an open source project became a job that you apply so that you get "unemployed" if something happened!

and actually this way of thinking is leading to centralization.

p.s. this is activation of SegWit compatible with bip91 (https://github.com/btc1/bitcoin/pull/21) (https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0091.mediawiki)

I know that bitcoin is an open source project but what I meant is that there are some developers that are really working on the project more then others. If SegWit2X takes place, we will probably see another repository on GitHub controlled by other people (whoever made the new SegWit proposa) and since they are against Bitcoin core developers this could mean that the core developers suggestions from now on won't be taken seriously.
7285  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: how reliable are okpay and perfectmoney and fees on them on: June 20, 2017, 06:43:21 AM
Both are legit services and I'm not sure about the fees but I know that PerfectMoney is irreversible just like bitcoin and to save fees, you may want to verify your identity but when It comes to the limits and closing accounts with no reason etc. PerfectMoney and Okpay are definitely a better option then PayPal.
7286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / SegWit2x will get activated for sure? on: June 20, 2017, 06:25:15 AM
I'm checking Coin.dance since yesterday and I see a really decent increase on the mining power.

It seems like It's going to get activated at 80% If I got things right and there is nothing we could do about it, this will also cancel UASF activation. The agreement they made a few weeks ago include most of the mining power so It seems unlikely to me that they would fail to do this.
Is this our way to centralization? I mean this could make the core developers unemployed, right?
7287  Other / MultiBit / Re: MultiBit on: June 19, 2017, 08:12:59 PM
Hello,
I'm still using Multibit classic 0.5.17 and I have backed up my .walled file offline for security.
I'm reading all these news regarding the potential hard fork and I'm not sure what to do.
If I stay put and keep using Multibit classic will my wallet be safe after the hard fork?

UASF won't happen until 1st august but to be safe, all you need to do is having control your private keys. It's still suggested to stop using Multibit Classic though, and switch to something like Electrum.
7288  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Finsbury Park attack:one dead in 'potential terrorist attack' near London mosque on: June 19, 2017, 05:15:30 PM
The attacker has been identified as 47-year old white Christian named Darren Osborne from Wales. I don't condone the attack, and I never celebrate the deaths of innocent civilians. But it is important not to ignore the causes behind this attack. We need to study and analyze what provoked Mr. Osborne to act in such a dastardly manner.

Which is? If you are going to say that the acts of Muslims provoked him then I believe that Muslims could say exactly the same thing, how their countries has been taken away from them, how they live in hunger, without their families etc. I believe no one could deny the fact that the U.S and many other countries are the main reason of what's happening on the middle east since a few years now.
7289  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] Blockcharity.info - DECENTRALIZED TRANSPARENCY CHARITY PLATFORM on: June 19, 2017, 01:09:26 PM
The idea is definitely good and I was actually thinking about this a few days ago but:

1. A unique address should be generated for donations so people know where the funds are actually going, how can we tell that you are not the one getting the funds?
2. Your site hasn't been mentioned on TheGuardian, TechCrunch etc. why saying otherwise?
3. The design is definitely something to consider improving
3. If the the site is new, how come multiple people already started campaigns, and multiple others contributed and donated.
7290  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: WTB Verified Neteller Account on: June 19, 2017, 12:01:22 PM
I have a verified account however, recently, they decided to stop supporting my country. It's still possible to send and receive funds from other Neteller accounts however you can't really order a card or anything and as of 26th june, the current virtual card will stop working which will leave you only with the ability to send money to merchants or other Neteller account holders
7291  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: If I lose my phone?... on: June 19, 2017, 10:58:45 AM
I already explained everything on the first post. I know that when you restore the wallet both you and whoever stole the phone will have access to the wallet, the thief however, won't be able to spend anything without the PIN code (6 digit code). If he try to crack it, you will have plenty of time to move your funds somewhere else since you already restored it and even If he succeed at some point, he will find it empty because you already sent the money to another wallet. PIN should simply not be something easy to guess (definitely not your birthdate or 123456-789456-111111 etc.) and your wallet should be secure more then enough.
7292  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: If I lose my phone?... on: June 19, 2017, 10:26:13 AM
The PIN is what prevents you from sending funds, signing messages etc. It's a 6 digit code so It won't be that easy to crack and It could take sometime. If you ever get your phone stolen or something, you should recover your wallet somewhere else using the 12 words passphrase they first gave you when you took backup.
7293  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Exchange] Liqui - trade and earn 24 APR on BTC, ETH on: June 19, 2017, 10:17:48 AM
did you remove 2fa confirmations for withdrawls?
now we have to wait for uncoming emails for wihtdrawl confirmations?  Huh Embarrassed

It's not activated by default, you must visit your settings and enable it from there just like you enabled 2FA for logging into the account.
7294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what are safe reliable ways of securing my bitcoins / bitcoin wallets? on: June 19, 2017, 08:55:03 AM
The worst thing you could do is uploading your wallet.dat file to the cloud. If you want to secure your bitcoins then go with either a hardware or a paper wallet. If you actually have your bitcoins in a desktop wallet for example and you want to secure those, then It's better to stop downloading cracked products, visit unknown site or download unknown executable, make sure your anti virus is always updated and you should be good to go.
7295  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: automated trading with low fees on: June 19, 2017, 08:39:58 AM
thank you for the almost instant replies.

can I use poloniex only to exchange bitcoin for altcoins?
I am looking for a website where I can exchange bitcoin for a fiat-currency like US Dollar or Euro.

Yes. Poloniex is meant for BTC/Alts only. If you want to get involved with fiat as well then you have Coinbase, Kraken, Bitfinex and a few others. See this list: https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/volume/24-hour/ and check where there is a BTC/USD ticker.
7296  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: automated trading with low fees on: June 19, 2017, 07:48:09 AM
Automated trading is about using bots clearly. A bot won't help you If you have no idea about trading though, because It only do the tasks that you actually ask them to do, It's not an AI. We have a few trading bots on the market right now like Gunbot and C.A.T and a new one called LeonArdo.
The platform I use is Poloniex because It has the highest trading volume, so It's just a matter of time until your buy and sell orders get filled, the limits are good, no need to verify your ID or anything unless you trade a lot.

7297  Economy / Services / Re: Escrow service needed on: June 19, 2017, 06:52:38 AM
it should be banned imo. Its helping scammers.
I dont know if it would be possible to control that though. Probably not.

It's not possible to control as people use VPNs and Tor browser and they could come across the same IP address sometimes so catching them using the IP address is not an option right now unless theymos decide to ban VPNs which he probably won't do because this is a bitcoin forum and bitcoin is all about privacy.
7298  Other / Politics & Society / Finsbury Park attack:one dead in 'potential terrorist attack' near London mosque on: June 19, 2017, 06:22:51 AM
A van has driven into a crowd of worshippers after they left a mosque in north London, killing one man and injuring eight other people in what police described as a “major incident”.

TheGuardian is updating their site with news every a few minutes: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/live/2017/jun/19/north-london-van-incident-finsbury-park-casualties-collides-pedestrians-live-updates
7299  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Shipito account with items on: June 18, 2017, 03:48:06 PM
What do you mean by Amazon refund? you bought the items to your Shipito address, then asked for a refund or did replacement and sold to ebay?
7300  Economy / Exchanges / Re: New to Bitcoin, Safest place to buy/sell bitcoin... on: June 18, 2017, 03:39:18 PM
Trading with individuals is always better than trading with services and companies because users charge less fees. As services, you have Bitstamp, Coinbase and a few others. (all depends on the payment method you are planning to pay with). I must also warn you that the verification process could take time and require a lot of info.
