7281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today it is Greece. Tomorrow it can be you. on: July 07, 2015, 03:31:53 PM
I think the people of Greece would really take this chance and jump to bitcoin. Banks are down, PayPal is down, not many options are left for them. More and more people in Greeks in the past couple of months have already began using bitcoin. Hope this continues, it will help the value of bitcoin and us.  Wink
but sadly they have many obstacles on their way to buying bitcoin. like the limits they have to access cash, the small amount daily that they can withdraw is so low for any major investment in bitcoin. then there is like 1 atm to buy bitcoin.
7282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make 100% anonymous transactions? Laundry services? on: July 07, 2015, 03:26:50 PM
Till now, the best option that I have seen and even got scammed because of it, Localbitcoins...
At Localbitcoins, whenever you send your coins, they get mixed with other coins and whenever you ask for your coins in different address, you will get them through different address-es...
in that case you can easily use an exchanger. there are many of them that don't even need your identity. you can easily deposit in one address and on the withdrawal, they will pay you from another address.
the good thing is there is no mixing fee, and only the normal 10k-20k satoshi fee.
7283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Over 200.000 transactions per day in the history of Bitcoin on: July 07, 2015, 03:23:53 PM

So,
this is, what all this stress testing was about? Wink

we were at 170k+ as a peak before the stress test, the test has definitely had an impact on this, but it isn't only for that, i believe is because of the price that is rising, some more people are joining bitcoin

i agree. although the number of spams transactions created by this stupid stress test is a lot of these transactions, i too think that there is a lot of buying bitcoin is happening nowadays due to the recent price rise which led to the increased number of transactions.
7284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin at the Tour de France!!! on: July 07, 2015, 03:19:07 PM
I remember when the Dogecoin community managed to put a driver on the racetrack and a big logo on the car. I can't believe Bitcoin hasn't done something like that already.
i think Dogecoin community is doing it so often now , besides there are a lot of charity events being held by using dogecoin.
7285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just what is a FAIR fee to send a Bitcoin transaction? on: July 07, 2015, 12:05:09 PM
i think the amount of fees that we are paying per transaction is fair enough that there is no need to change that. i mean the 0.0001 is like 2 cents which is a great positive point about bitcoin, and this is one of the things that is making bitcoin different, and better that any other money transferring methods.
7286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trending in greece! on: July 07, 2015, 11:45:08 AM
the price rise clearly shows the Greeks showing interest in bitcoin and the news also makes others buy bitcoin too because they don't want to lose this opportunity for profiting.

also i have heard that exchangers are reporting that they are getting increasing  requests from Greece on their website and also there are a lot of question asked by greeks on how to buy bitcoin.
7287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can the blockchain be frozen of miners stop validating transactions? on: July 07, 2015, 11:40:19 AM
Reading all the news about Greece, thinking about how Bitcoin could be the alternative, got me thinking about whether the Bitcoin system could ever be frozen due to non-activity or a community consensus - could the blockchain be frozen?

If I understand correctly, miners validate transactions which then create the blockchain (or blockchain history, forgive me if I'm using the terminology incorrectly).

What if the miners decided to stop working? What if the community decided to stop validating transactions? Wouldn't that freeze the blockchain and thereby put a halt to bitcoin the currency?
well, as long as there are people who are using bitcoin, and it has any kind of value, there will be some miners who will mine bitcoin.
the only scenario is if the price was to fall down so low under $50 then maybe enough people will leave it that it breaks apart.
7288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Stress Tests", Spammers, Attacks: Burning My Butt. Very Bad. on: July 07, 2015, 11:32:05 AM
it is not possible to ignore small transactions like 0.001 BTC because there is a lot of micro transactions being done with bitcoin and banning those transactions is just not possible.
7289  Other / MultiBit / Re: help! on: July 07, 2015, 11:20:38 AM
you can still use the old multibit, both with HD version are available on the official website.
or you can use Electrum if you are not comfortable with multibit.

and if you have problem with English, there is local boards with all the languages that you might be more comfortable using.
7290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we stress testing again? on: July 07, 2015, 11:18:02 AM
i send a transaction yesterday too, and it didn't get any confirmation for like about 9 hours.
this transaction spamming they are doing is getting really annoying.
7291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: btc-multiplier 0.0001 spam & no confirms on: July 07, 2015, 11:15:41 AM
this is becomming a kind of a common thing, this is a transaction advertising spam. just take the dust and forget about it. and it is just a medium priority and will get confirmed in a couple of hours.
7292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today it is Greece. Tomorrow it can be you. on: July 06, 2015, 02:49:45 PM
that picture is indeed heart breaking. it makes you wonder if this situation can happen to you too especially if you are living in a developing country.

but i can not agree that bitcoin is the solution, and that it can solve Greek's problems.
7293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: July 06, 2015, 02:47:03 PM
As far as i know signature campaign only earn more.
But based on other views i also heard about gambling which also pays more.
You can hav a look at that.
yeah signature campaign is a nice way for anyone to earn bitcoin from for being active in the forum. but gambling is not a way that pays you bitcoin, you lose more than you can earn from gambling.

I have heard that faucets is a good way too.
sure it is a pretty good way if you are the faucet owner an earning through excessive number of ads or if you own a faucet list/rotator and earn with your referrals. Smiley
7294  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to make money on bitcointalk? on: July 05, 2015, 05:12:12 PM
......
2. Buying an account(higher rank is better but cost more) and apply for signature/avatar campaign
3. Search for offers, if you have any good skills people will hire you.
4. Buy/sell accounts

Sorry if i missed anything.
Good Luck.
i want to mention the reddit.com/r/Jobs4bitcoins for people who are looking for hiring or being hired to do jobs for bitcoin payment.

and i also think buying and selling accounts might not give you the profit that you expect.
7295  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Question on: July 05, 2015, 05:04:39 PM
I'm still very confused about Bitcoin. Now, I opened a wallet from blockchain, ok? And you know, I have the identifier, pass, mnemonic info and etc...

Do I need to something extra? I mean, isn't this enough? Why people are using other wallets?
don't forget to enable 2fa on your blockchain.info wallet . it adds an extra layer of security. also never use TOR with your wallet there, you most probably going to lose all your bitcoins.

for better wallets use bitcoin-core or armory if you can download the whole blockchain. or Electrum if you want to download a small amount of data.
7296  Economy / Gambling / Re: Lucky shot on 999dice on: July 05, 2015, 04:58:25 PM
it looks like the website is a known scam, but congrats on your winnings.
i think you better cash out your winnings and start betting in another well known better gambling site.
7297  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcointalk honest tipsters on: July 05, 2015, 04:50:56 PM
whenever i see a self-moderated topic in 99% of the times i ignore the whole thing.
because it shows that the moderator of the thread is denying freedom of speech and most likely has the intention of hiding something that don't want people pointing out.
7298  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does martingale really works? on: July 05, 2015, 04:45:08 PM
i have tried using martingale for a long time with different chances and different bankroll. but the result that i have gotten is still the same after this long.
no matter what i did i always end up losing whenever i use martingale for long run.
7299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin Could Be the Best Investment of the Century on: July 05, 2015, 04:40:37 PM
Check out this article about why everyone needs to be investing in Bitcoin: https://atriark.com/blog/bitcoin-best-investment-century/

It's well written and put in a way that would help most outsiders understand why it's a good idea to get into the market right now. I seriously believe that Bitcoin could be the greatest transfer of wealth in human history. Although my friends and family still think I'm crazy, but we shall see.
yeah, there are still a lot of people who think that we who invested in bitcoin and believe in the higher price of bitcoin, are crazy .
but i am still believing and holding my bitcoins for a better future.
7300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin on: July 05, 2015, 04:31:30 PM
My biggest problem was the wallet which i should use? Because, i can't trust any wallets except bitcoin core Roll Eyes. But if i use bitcoin core, i've to wait untill it sync. (its about ~21GBs of data) for that i've to wait at least 2 to 3 months Shocked (due to my connection and some other factors).

And also if i use bitcoin core, there's another problem i.e., some malwares and trojans.  Sad

If you're from a software development group, why would your code a wallet long with an antivirus(may be a new antivirus or along with any/someother trustable existing antivirus)? with full control over my BTC like bitcoin core?

Is this possible? If yes, implement it  Smiley

~Rude Boy
i don't see any reason not to trust other wallets, since they are open source and anybody can review the wallet's code. for example Electrum which i use is good and reliable.

and i want to add that the whole blockchain is much more that 21 GB if i am not mistaken it is around 40GB now.
