  • 2FA

7282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING ]: Fury vs Wilder III in Las Vegas on 18th July 2020 !!! on: June 17, 2020, 11:06:53 PM
Going by what general consensus shows, Joshua will beat Pulev and Fury will beat Wilder. Pulev is probably going to never fight professionally again as his age will probably not allow it and Wilder will probably not fight again if he gets beaten by Fury again because his ego will not allow him to risk a third defeat.
I don't think so, I've seen a lot of fighters who are beaten many times already but they are still fighting, of course if Wilder will lose, although he lose twice but it's just from one fighter only, and he can still fight another boxer that could still generate money for him. Boxing is more on because of money, not because of ego, or whatsoever, these guys are living a different lifestyle than the normal people, so they need money for that which they can only get when they will keep fighting. Wilder at 34 years, he still have a lot of fights left even if he lose against Fury.

The rest of your statement, I agree with it.

It's really up to the boxer himself on how he will take his defeat and move and fight another day. Another good case is Ricky Hatton, when Pacquiao beat his ass, he was never been the same. In fact, news surface that we went into depression after that loss, doing drugs and stuff and he never fight again. The scar the fight put on him mentally was too much to handle for him. Maybe he generated so much money throughout his career that's why he chooses not stay out. However, he admitted it after many years that it was really devastated on him psychologically. So we will see what happens to Wilder if he is defeated in the trilogy.
7283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Physical Casinos Decoded : on: June 17, 2020, 04:38:04 PM
There are no secrets, those listed have been with us when gambling exploded in recent times, maybe just some adjustments, but still, gamblers already know this 'strategy', it's just the question of are you willing to be screwed by casinos.

And to add to that list, casinos are using this so called privilege card, ranging from beginning to whales, it could be like silver to gold to platinum sort of promotional cards, you earn points everything to play and then you enjoy something in return like free hotel accommodations. But if you are going to sum up everything, you need to bet and lost so much money just to avail of this. Tricky casino marketing.
7284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stable Coin Treasury keep minting coin why ? on: June 17, 2020, 03:02:47 PM

My questions are as follows
(1) Who are those responsible for minting of this stable coin and is the process and amount of minting being regulated  ?

Bitfinex for one, with their Tether.

(2) Can they be trusted of not using the minted coin to influenced the price of other cryptocurrencies ?

Trust is subjective, however, Bitfinex/Tether have been accused in the past and they have a on-going case.

https://coingeek.com/tether-bitfinex-sued-for-creating-the-largest-bubble-in-history/

So I don't know how you can trust such companies.

(3) If this minting continue, what do you posit for the future of the stablecoins and those that are holding them ?

It's supposedly a stable coin, meaning 1:1 USD, they could remain in cryptosphere as most exchanges are using them. It's just the question of how exchanges are using them, it is for their own advantage or for traders?

https://www.reddit.com/r/shapeshiftio/comments/4eolhy/update_on_last_weeks_hack_apr_13/

Isang ex-employee ng shapeshift na nakipag collude sa isang outside hacker. Heto yung time na medyo mabango pa ang name ng shapeshift,  Smiley

I think in the case of QuadrigaCX, talagang may problema na yang exchange na yan bago pa mamamtay ung CEO nila. 2018 palang may lumabas na reports na hindi makapag withdraw ang mga customer, masalimuot talaga ang kaso na yan hangang bigla nga namatay Cotten nung 2019.
7286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]Joshua Greer Jr. vs. Mike Plania on: June 17, 2020, 10:09:03 AM

@Baofeng, what's your take on this one bro?

Too much hype around this kid to be honest, he honest show us anything yet, he is a slow starter. And it Plania will push in the early rounds (1-3) and really make Greer uncomfortable, he might caught him and change the complexion of the fight. Greer was caught with a check left hook during his last fight against Nieves, and almost go down. I'm sure Mike Plania's team have seen that video and for sure he will throw a lot of lefts in this fight. I will put a bet on Mike Plania here, good odds. I also don't like Greer's cockiness, reminds me of AB (Adrien Broner) when we was just making a name for himself.  Smiley

You are right here bro, Plania took the momentum of the fight in the first round with that wide left hook to the side of Greer's face (only video of the fight i have watched so far). Plania have a lot to improve with his raw talent and with this win, he is on the right track.

What did I told you bro? Hehehehe, spot on with this fight, and thanks for calling me out, was able to put a bet in the nick of time:  Grin

2/2 so far,  Smiley. Yes, this win open up the doors for Plania, but he still needs to improve a lot, haven't seen the fight though, but from what I read he almost gas out in the later round but the first few rounds was enough to give him a good lead, he even drop Greer 2x. This kid has a bright future, give him a couple more fights and he will sure be in the contention for the belt from 118-122 lbs. For Greer, again, hype train was put to a stop, I do hope that this loss will make learn that you don't need to bring cockiness if you can't back it up, if can go as far but when you face a boxer that has a big heart like Plania, he can simply be overwhelm and can't react until its too late.

7289  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why quality tokens play a key role to crypto exchange? on: June 14, 2020, 03:05:07 PM
I agree. Quality tokens is ESSENTIAL in an exchange. It's like Amazon, Apple, Microsoft in stocks. Without them the exchange is close to worthless because those tokens is the reason why the market fluctuates the way it is now. Remove that you take 60-70% of the marketcap.

We can't really define what Quality tokens are, the OP listed a good indicator, but I shitcoins can easily pass that test. We have seen a lot of scam projects in the past that can easily be considered as quality token based on that scope alone. And it's going to be very hard to detect early on, unless it is too late. The only thing we can do is to look at where these supposedly quality tokens are going to be listed. If they listed it on Binance or any other good exchanges, then we might consider the project as serious, but still I still have doubts if that alone can filter out good projects or not.
7290  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam reporting sites? on: June 14, 2020, 01:58:49 PM
Hi there everyone that came in.
i really want to know that is there any site to report a fraud? Like maybe having a chance of getting your scammed money back. Please, those who knew this please answer this topic.
*I got scammed so thats why ;/*

Unfortunately, there's no way for you to get your money back. Every crypto transaction are irreversible, and sorry to hear that you have been scammed, everyone here has been scammed one time or another.

Let that be a lesson to you and be sure to learn from it.
7291  Economy / Economics / Re: If you have agricultural land would you sell it or hold it ? on: June 13, 2020, 10:00:13 PM
If you have agricultural land would you sell it or hold it ?

Yes, I have an agricultural land I acquire like 9 years ago and I'm not going to sell it even it we are in a pandemic or not. Too valuable and it is a great investment, and I made money out of it, harvesting twice a year, and in turn help a lot of farmers in our province. And usually here, this is a very old and traditional way of giving it as an inheritance for your children and the next generations to come. So it will be a big loss on your end of you sell it. You can also be self-sufficient and can generate different crops. So there's a lot of positive if you have this kind of land.
7292  Bitcoin / Legal / Wilshire Phoenix files for Public Traded Bitcoin Commodity Trust on: June 13, 2020, 09:02:00 PM
https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1811978/000091957420004103/d8556761_s-1.htm

So another big investment firm, Wilshire Phoenix has filed for a "FORM S-1 REGISTRATION STATEMENT
UNDER THE SECURITIES ACT OF 1933"
.

So let's wait if this is going to be approved and see if it can bring positive effect to the market. And will probably compete with Grayscale’s Bitcoin Trust (GBTC).
7293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Betting this June? on: June 13, 2020, 08:41:40 PM
So here are the numbers:

Magdaleno vs Yenifel Vicente - the telecast peaked at 392,000 viewers, average 311,000 viewers
Stevenson vs Caraballo - the telecast peaked at 609,000 viewers, average at 397,000 viewer

https://www.boxingscene.com/magdaleno-vicente-espn-telecast-peaked-392k-viewers-averaged-311k--149472

I would say not bad after-all, this is just the first fight telecast live in this pandemic, just imagine if these are top tier fighters, I'm sure it can go as high as 1 million viewers on average.

Yeah, not bad at all. Just curious if Top Rank did profit on those fights or it's just a gimme by Bob Arum to the followers of the sweet science.

For top tier fighters, IMO they will wait until audience could watch to generate more revenue from the gate.

Arum is good at hiding his numbers  Smiley, he may say publicly that he didn't profit in those fights, but if you are not aware of, Arum is a practicing tax lawyer. Before becoming a boxing promoter, he served at the Justice Department under Kennedy's administration, and he is the one who prosecuted the allegedly tax evasion case of Roy Cohn, a boxing promoter, who made tons of money from the Sonny Liston and Floyd Patterson. And that open his eyes about boxing promotions.

7295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / [Share]: Someone lost all of his BTC from malicious chrome extension on: June 13, 2020, 08:27:53 AM
I just want to share the story of a crypto enthusiast who lost all his bitcoin stash because he fell for the malicious chrome extension in Google.

He was a victim of Warning: Fake KeepKey App Phishing Attempts.

So this is just a reminder to everyone that you really need to be very careful on installing any supposedly chrome apps.

Damn, it's 12 BTC and according to him, it took him 7 years to accumulate it and this money is to supposedly buy him apartment.

7297  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam]: Nitrogen Sports Beta Testers on: June 12, 2020, 05:59:19 PM
So this is the second time in a month that cyber criminals have targeted NitrogenSports for this so called Firefox addons. And it's good that you have caught it before someone created an account and spread this scam in this community. I also did check NitrogenSports and it seems they are all aware of this potential malicious attempts using their name as there are warning banners when you login to their platform already.
7298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any use for failed cryptos? on: June 12, 2020, 05:19:42 PM
Any use for coins/tokens of defunct projects like Synereo/Hyperspace (AMP) and others?

Yes, they can be included in this list, https://deadcoins.com.

Seriously, common sense dictates that can there are no used for them anymore. Perhaps we can learn from their mistakes or developers look at what they failed and not create similar projects with no use case at all.

And I would say that majority of coins/tokens that has been hype around 2017 could be dead by now or in the process of dying.
7299  Other / Beginners & Help / The importance of using different emails for your crypto related activity on: June 12, 2020, 08:24:01 AM
It's already June and we have seen many exploits/hacks/breaches already. And we have read in news that hackers are dumping personal information to the public or selling them in the dark market (specially crypto users).

Some of them might be false, however, this is still a threat that is highlighted many times already and as crypto users, we really need to practice safety measures of our own. Below are some of the supposedly data dumps in recent months.

How is this important to us?

These data dumps can be used by hackers by:

  • they can directly access your crypto account and steal everything from you
  • worst case scenario, your address is exposed and you can be a target at your physical home
  • the leak emails can be cross-reference to other data breaches in the past, and it you didn't practice having different strong passwords, they have decrypted it quickly, and can go a process of elimination by logging to different crypto related sites like exchanges and online wallets to get what they want from you

Best practices:

  • use strong and random password for your different email accounts
  • use a good password manager
  • 2FA

This is just a reminder, regardless if you are a beginner here or experienced traders. We really need to practice security hygiene to minimise the risk of being hack as these bad actors are really stepping the game every time. Please let me know, I may have missed a lot here, help me update this list.
7300  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SEC asset freeze "Modern Money Team" on: June 11, 2020, 10:57:42 PM
I've heard such scam schemes involving trading forex, stocks and cryptocurrencies. They're making it as a trading company that generates huge money which they can front to their upcoming and interested investors. That's where the scam goes, they'll create fake win trades so they can attract their investors. SEC should just return the money to the victims.

It's more prevalent to forex and stocks in the past. But when cryptocurrencies started to enter the picture specially in 2017, there's a lot of scams schemes being pulled by those actors, but only a few have been caught in recent times because of the nature of crypto. But it seems that US SEC is changing that perception because they have been extending their hands to those scammers this year. No doubt that SEC, once they are done with their investigations and the full hands of the law has been handed, they will return what is due to those victims here.
