i think you have a misunderstanding of what dApps are.

there is a long explanation, but i will try to sum it up.

a Dapp is the migration of an existing/working application/system to the blockchain.

in other words, you need to have an already working "thing" that works on a classic environment such as a server or your computer.

once you have that at least in a complete set of an idea that can be directly transformed into code, then you enter the dApp discussion phase.

to do so, you need to learn Solidity "something very similar to the boring Javascript", that will be the translation tool of your working IDEA to be put on the blockchian and to be called a dApp.

-Just because you trust Bob and Bob trusts Alice, it doesn't mean you have to trust Alice, you could very much distrust Alice while still trust Bob who trusts Alice.

-if you trust Bob and he doesn't trust Alice, it doesn't mean you can't trust Alice.

-just because you had a successful trade with Bob, that alone might not be a strong enough reason to trust their judgment.

and the list goes on.

are you discussing POW vs POS or shilling Tezos? because those are 2 very different subjects.

if you are shilling xtz using it's POS feature , assuming you are done with the debate of POS being a better method than POW then people will be more than willing to point out a lot of better POS coins than Tezos.

if you are still in the process of debating POW vs POS then this has been already discussed a dozen times here already.

not a rocket science, he saw a problem,proposed a reasonable solution. while not everyone will have the same point of view as i do, this is a fair enough start. Find issues, look for a solution, propose it, even if you fail to get merit, you at least helped someone out which is way more important than merit itself IMO.

simply put , mining altcoins consist of all those different types of topics, having them all under a single board is a nightmare , tons of duplicate topics, nearly impossible to search for certain topics, many good topics go unnoticed.

on bitcoin mining boards, i seldom visit the "pools" or "software" boards, i usually go to mining support to either post a problem i have or try to help those having a problem related to mining bitcoin, and everything is well organized, a few members of us there work together to solve almost every problem posted on bitcoin mining support board.

while those alt miners usually don't get answers and some end up posting on bitcoin mining support instead, sometimes we catch them there and give them answers, but if the topic is moved before any of us do, it will get lost on that mega alt mining board and many issues will remain unsolved.


can we please at least have another child board under name "alts mining support" where we tackle alt mining related issues only.

Rank should never matter towards trust, i learned this from a personal experience, traded digital goods "bitmain coupons" with a dozen members here, only was scammed once by an almighty "Legendary member"  while i had many smooth deals with lower rank members including newbies.

i am not saying newbies are more trusted than legendary members, i am saying rank is not a solid measurement towards someone's honesty, same goes to activity , many scammers have more than 1500 activities , trust page painted in red , those will still be able to "vote" for DT members, who will do the "reading" of their feedback ?  do you think anyone has the time to cancel voters with negative trust ? i don't think so.

i think getting 100 merit is not something easy , and theymos said he might make a new rule whereby you need 2 members trusting you who has earned 250 merit each.

250 merit vs 1500 activity ! what is more accurate ? to me 250 merit is much more accurate, while this indeed can lead to some centralization, i would prefer centralization to total randomness.

for an improvement maybe a combination of your suggestion along side with the merit requirement will be better.

I do not think once you are elected you show up on DT , it only makes eligible to go to stage 2 of the election ( where others who passes stage 1 have to give you trust you more than they distrust you ) and where you can actually "vote" for other DT members.

you need to pass these two stages.

so even if you were trusted by everyone on the forum and you do not meet the stage 1 election rules of having your own trust list, have posted in the last 30 days etc, then you can't be on DT.

also goes the other way around, if you meet all those criteria but non of those other members who meet the criteria trust you , then you are not be on the DT.

  I always see many people look at market cap increase / decrease as if it's real fiat going in / out the market.

  this is pretty wrong, when you see the market cap increases by 10 billion dollars, it does not mean that 10 billion dollars were injected to the market.



let's first understand how is market cap calculated.

Market Cap =Current Price * Circulating Supply


plain and simple, it does not mean that there is an x amount of dollars "invested" in crypto, these coins were bought at different prices therefore the amount invested in USD is not something cmc can tell you, it's only an indication of the total "size".

for example, if someone wants to buy every BTC out there, whatever the market-cap shows is the amount he needs to pay to buy the whole market. but again this is just the theory it is not practically accurate simply because of this

1- The price will automatically increase the moment he starts buying therefore market cap will increase.
2- supply is going to increase therefore marketcap/size will increase too.

CMC is not even a very accurate number , one main reason is that many bitcoins are "lost".

The "lost bitcoins"  could be affecting the price due to less-current-supply but they don't count in marketcap.

at this point you should have already understood that when btc market caps jumps 10 billions, it could actually be due to 10 million dollars buy order that raised the price, with supply remaining constant or increasing marketcap must increase.

everything above applies to when marketcap drops too, it does not mean "money went out of the market" it simply means the price dropped.

what these people show you is a live miner running say at 15xhash, then they download this .exe file and launch it, go back to the same page and suddenly the hashrate is at 28-30xhash.

they started to be active since the fall of prices, when things started to get really rough for miners , they know many people will be more than willing to boost their hashrate by 2x, when lambo ?

always use your common sense, too good to be true ? scam !

- there is no way you getting 100% improvment on only software level
- running a windows executable file to modify a linux based miner is b.s that you should never trust regardless of the source.

you should also notice that many of those custom firmware have much higher dev fees than they claim,so should you decide to use one, monitor it closely.

chances are that miner has a static ip that is on a different subnet / gateway .
the only work around would be to reset the miner, this will take it to default setting including dhcp, then it should work fine.

your buddy lied to you. this is not how it works, it's not about where, it's about what. people still get merit on off-topics for being funny.

if you are not funny / intelligent / informative then regardless of where you post, you are very unlikely to get merit, you will only get more replies here than on the technical decision that's for sure.
